I hate it when people equate the northern Ireland problem with Xtian terrorism, The Brits occupied Ireland for centuries, bringing in their folks and Anglican religion,  When they left, they annexed the north cuz they wanted to protect the remnants of their Anglican folks instead of letting them join a united Ireland, IRA just wanted a united motherland while the Brits wouldnt let go,  their religious affiliations play little or no role here

What are we talking about? Politics with religion coloration or Religion with political coloration what is the difference? people are been killed.

Look read the story here carefully,
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/26/AR2009052602995.html

The lady whose husband was killed in the last paragraph is a Protestant married to a Catholic, they killed her husband and spared her life. It is not Catholic killing Catholic, or Protestant killing Protestant.

There are bad eggs everywhere, i don't want to hear of superiority of Islam over Christainity or otherwise. Religion is opium, and people get brainwash a lot.

So much recognition is being given to religion in Nigeria, too many religion holidays. People go to work here on Sallah or Christmas days. Everybody practice what he likes in the confine of his room, privately. As long as you follows the law of the land, nobody gets hurt.
I guess that is where the solution lie. That is my suggestion, you can proffer yours.
Politics / Re: Nigerian Muslims Lets Wake Up Before Boko Haram Hijacks Our Religion by ajetii(m): 10:03pm On Jan 01, 2011
NorthernIreland is political. The two Irish groups are fighting for political control. Religion is a only a defining line.

I have heard this same reason been given in Nigeria times without number, plus Boko Haram are raving mad too, not different from a lunatic, they seem to claim they are fighting injustice meted to them in the past by the Nigerian police as shown on these youtube videos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1hc1zKnLr0&feature=channel&has_verified=1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stU0T2H1DMo&feature=related

Does it mean life is worth nothing in Nigeria?, i detest all kind of extra judicial, political or religion killings. I heard a "police man said don't waste bullet", "give me the heart, i want the heart", e.t.c on these videos.

Is disheartening. I am ashame to call myself a Nigerian here.

The police in foreign land sees all these, and they can easily tell any Nigerian that, you people kill yourself anyhow, so what does it matter if you are killed here.

The question is where lie the end to all these?
Let us join hand and find solutions to all these killings, let us address issues and stop trade tackling on Islam and Christainity.

No christian has killed pointing to the bible for justification. No where in the teachings of Christ will you find cause for violence.

Don't make a sweeping statement it happened, as i pointed out earlier but everyone seems to ignore that and continue this unending cycle of argument. Now, every christain here are playing pope and patrick.

There is no hidden agenda-Its just the lack of trust that gets to me. I have never given him any reason to distrust me. I dont stay out past curfew,i dont do drugs,he's never had to lock me up in a room to keep me from a guy i was in 'love' with,i dont flunk any subject,i dont smoke,i dont drink(except occasionally),i always make good grades,i've never sneaked out of the house,he's never had to bring my wasted behind home from a club . I am the classic 'good girl'. I know what some kids are putting their parents through, the kinda premature grey hairs they are giving their parents and that is not me. Ive never given him a day of grief and i dont think a little respect for my privacy is too much to ask for. I just dont get why he doesnt trust me because ive never given him any reason to distrust me.

Methink you should let it go, there is nothing to it in Nigeria culture.
Besides, you will be glad you did later in life as pointed out by somebody on the thread. If it is in western culture is a different kettle of fish, you may even decides to call the police and put him in jail for doing that, nobody cares.

You can also discuss your feeling with him, if you have been the good girl above.

Christainity is not about peace too from my research, i am yet to find a suitable religion. I prefer a world without religion.

And to you all michievious people. I found out more about the "Hutaree" and their website. Tell me how is this different from the so called jihad.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1361

FBI conducted a series of raids in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana to detain members of a Christian militia group on criminal charges. So what does this group believe, and how do its members fit in with the larger radical right?

The group in question calls itself the "Hutaree"; its website says the term translates as "Christian warrior." And in keeping with that name, the material it has posted online reflects an outlook of violent religious confrontation. The Hutaree believe that acts of violence can bring about the final judgment prophesied in the

Christian Bible — and therefore have been arming themselves to go to war with the Antichrist, "evil Jews," and Muslims. They have documented their training exercises in a series of YouTube videos. And they spell out the theological rationale for their actions on the "About Us" page on their website:

Jesus wanted us to be ready to defend ourselves using the sword and stay alive using equipment. The only thing on earth to save the testimony and those who follow it, are the members of the testimony, til the return of Christ in the clouds. We, the Hutaree, are prepared to defend all those who belong to Christ and save those who aren't. We will still spread the word, and fight to keep it, up to the time of the great coming , The Hutaree will one day see its enemy and meet him on the battlefield if so

God wills it. We will reach out to those who are yet blind in the last days of the kingdoms of men and bring them to life in Christ.

According to the indictment unsealed this morning in court, the nine members of the group — eight men and one woman — planned to "levy war" against the U.S. government. To incite such a war, the group planned to murder law enforcement officials and then follow up their initial attacks with a separate attack on the fallen officers' funeral(s), where a large number of law enforcement personnel would no doubt be gathered.

With other news of vandalism and harassment from right-wing activists angry about the passage of health care reform, some commentators are already depicting the arrests as a further sign of how conservative activists are promoting violence in their ranks. But even within the militant world of the Michigan militia movement, the Hutarees are viewed as extreme religious fanatics. Michael Lackomar, a leader of the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia, told the Associated Press that he'd fielded a frantic call from a Hutaree member Saturday night reporting the onset of the federal raids. After hearing pleas for help, Lackomar said that his group declined. "They said that they were under attack by the ATF and wanted a place to hide," Lackomar recalls. "My team leaders said, 'No thanks.' "

A posting on a Hutaree message board by someone named Anna seems to back up Lackomar's claim that Hutaree members were seeking help from other militia groups in the area.

"We need some help please," she wrote. "I am enroute south with my children using the wifi's as I can. They were catching others as they came to their rallying points, they broke into homes and took children and used the tasers on wives, my son who is 12 and I got out by crawling through the creeks behind our house. My husband and others are taken, please call the press and tell them, if any in the Michigan Militia is still free please rally with them. Please help."

Still, while the more secular and libertarian leaders of the militia movement may distance themselves from the Hutaree, the two militant strains of right-wing activism share some tactical affinities, says Kenneth S. Stern, the American Jewish Committee's director on anti-Semitism and extremism. "What you're starting to see in the number of militia groups sprouting up in the last year is a general antigovernment ideology," Stern says. "The targeting of cops is not inconsistent with that. The literature that glorified that white supremacist movement that helped the militia movement take off in the 1990s advocated those tactics — especially in books like 'The Turner Diaries.' And some of these groups — like the Order and others — started setting traps for law enforcement and going after first responders."

Stern cautions that it's too soon to draw broader lessons from the alleged Hutaree plot. But he does add that "whenever you have a combination of the ideology that says, 'the government is evil and we'd better do something about it,' and a religion that says, 'Hey, God wants you to do something about it,' that can be problematic."

Man is evil. Man kills man mainly for money, goods, land, and possessions. Bomb blasts, and suicide bombing is no different. No matter what people say otherwise nearly ALL CONFLICT, ALL WARS, ALL VIOLENCE comes about when some person or group of persons believe they are losing something of value to them.

Thanks bro, i can see it from your point of view. I really wish you remove the picture though.

Your argument is constructive and does not involve any name calling or abusive language. Check out all the balderdash been vomitted by some people on Nairaland who have not said a single thing that will stop this circulous viciousus or vicious cycle in which Nigeria found herself but instead decides to heat up the system for reprisal atacks and counter attacks.

The problem is not alien to Nigerians, neither is it seen in Muslims alone, the bible says soul of man is desperately wicked.

The Northern and the Southern ireland christains have been in a terrible conflict for decades , which has led to the killings of thousands.

The terrible combination of politics and religion has had deadly consequences for some people living in Northern Ireland.
Catholics and Protestants have been vilifying, attacking, torturing and killing each other in a seemingly endless cycle which has recently begun to finally end.

Again we heard about a christain militia group called the Hutaree which is synonymous with Al-Queda/Boko Haram.

Because this is more than a mere mass of letters to read. Showing it graphically haunts our memories, it doesn't die out easily. 1 life is important, 1 million is just a statistic.

Don't be a mischief maker, you mixed pictures of killing by muslims with the reprisal attacks by christains and claims muslims did all those killings. The picture where some corpses were been dump in well were done by christians.

Nobody like what is going on in our country, and i am not really a religious person. I prefer a world without religion, if you ask me.

At the same time, i detest people like you pasting sensitive images and making such inflammatory statement that will not get the country out of the vicious cycle in which we found ourself.

Music/Radio / Fuji Musician, Sikiru Ayinde "barrister", Is Dead by ajetii(m): 9:21pm On Dec 16, 2010
For those who grew up in the south, not a single person will not have heard, sang and dance to his music.

I learnt today that Fuji Musician, Sikiru Ayinde "Barrister", passed away in London.

I pray Almighty Allah forgive him all his sins and admit him to Al jannah alfirdaous. Adieu.

One of Nigeria’s best-known musician, Sikiru Ayinde Ololalde Balogun (Barrister), is dead. The fuji musician died this morning at the St. Mary’s Hospital, London, after a protracted illness, which saw him admitted to hospitals in Nigeria, India and the United Kingdom.  He was 62. He celebrated his 60th birthday in London and the United States in 2008.

During the Civil War that swept through Nigeria between 1967 and 1970, he served in the Army. Signed by the Nigeria-based Africa Songs, Ltd. label, Barrister recorded many groundbreaking singles during the 1970s and '80s.

"With his heartfelt vocals set to a rhythmic mix of talking drums, claves, bells, shekere, drum set, and Hawaiian-style guitar, he laid the foundation for fuji, which he named after Mt. Fuji, the Japanese mountain of love. The style has been described as "juju without the guitars" and a "percussion conversation." www.rootsandrhythm.com described it as a "high speed assault by 12 wild percussionists." Barrister renamed the musical style "Fuji garbage" in 2000."

Although details of his death are still sketchy, there are indications that he died of diabetes.

His profile on Yahoo Musics reads as follows:

One of Nigeria's best-known singer/songwriters, Chief Doctor Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (born: Sikiru Ayinde) has played an essential role in the evolution of the music of his homeland. The leader of a 25-piece band, the Supreme Fuji Commanders, and a smaller group, the Africa Musical International Ambassadors, Barrister has continued to be one of the leading purveyors of fuji, an exciting, amplified dance music combining juju, apala, and traditional Yoruban blues that he introduced in the late-'70s.

"Barrister has been singing most of his life. By the age of ten, he had mastered a complex, Yoruba vocal style that was traditionally performed during the holy month of Ramadan. Although he briefly attended a Muslim school in 1961, financial difficulties prevented him from continuing. Leaving school, he found employment as a stenographer.

I really dont wish to start a new trend on this, but i am right at the same point with this poster. I just need to pinch my tent with you as same bedfellow and I need urgent help right now ´cause my lappy(hp, window xp sp3) wont boot again. This started when i inserted a usb stick LG, that carries its on vaccine/antivirus, which constantly request to download vaccine updates everytime and i often refused.

This time around i accepted the download and also asked for the vaccine to scan my c;drive, the result was a trojan virus that need to be repaired or removed.

So i requested for a repair after reboot, with the usb stick still attached and Voila! this put me in trouble as the computer refused to boot to the end, where i will login with my psswrd. I removed the usb device, tried to reboot again after long press to shut down but i got same result.

I tried rebooting in safe mode with networking, but it responded by indicating it was in safe mode but i couldnt see my desktop even on safe mode, i forcefully shut it down by long press again cause i needed to go to work.

I came back from work to discover that it won.t even boot again.

, The Mormon angle is really the disgraceful angle to the story since we lived in a small, highly religious community where you can count the number of blacks and where almost everyone else is a Mormon. So you walk by the street and people see you as one other untrustworthy and ungrateful black man who cannot keep his heart and joystick where his money is (so to speak).
