Best deal o my brother, you can use those 3 months arrange yourself well, get you SIN, health card, sort out d kids school, wifey and your job and know where to go and get things done.If after a year or two, you decide you wanna move, it will be either because things no gel after your hustles or you see better job opening elsewhere and you don do interview o!!lol

Initially planned to go Manitoba, i get plenty people there that will help in settling, however, i got admission for a program in Alberta so, will settle in Alberta.

Pally, who are you listening to?I know at least 2 people that moved from Toronto claiming there were no jobs and the other one said that it was too choked.
Sask in my opinion is a better deal for you, people run away because of the cold there but you get people there and it will help you.I have a younger friend who moved from BC to Sask because of better job opportunities, so, make the best of where you find yourself, you be naija, even if na few jobs dey, go get it!
That 3 months free accommodation is ok for you to get a job and settle down,even if no be the particular one you want.

But can u guys just give us a format for SOP.,especially if ur admission is successful? About transcripts, I graduated from olabisi onabanjo University, and had a transcript for my masters at unilag. It's in a photocopy format. I intend applying to several schools and would want to know if it's necessary to get five different transcripts or if I can just upload the photocopy I have. U guys are d best, really

This is the tested and trusted format for your SOP.Situations are different for all individuals; work experience, academics, etc so follow this guideline and you can get 1 or 2 people to help you review.If you cannot convince yourself with what your SOP, then you are not ready.Hope this helps.

1. introduction of yourself and course of study in Canada
2. briefly explain your previous education and its relevance to your intended course of study
3. briefly explain any gaps from your last education to date or relevant work experiences acquired
4. briefly explain the impact of your course on your future career and your home country(e.g NIGERIA)
5. emphasis on leaving Canada after ur studies and what you intend to do on return(reasons should correlate with study leave and employment letter, if u submitted any)
the SOP should not be more than two pages and less story telling, go straight to the point and avoid reminding the VO constantly that you are not going to abscond

Bros, if it's your dream, it might take a while but it will eventually become reality.It took me years to save up for mine and because I knew what my goal was, i refused to allow the years to weigh me down.so, instead of begging for assistance, re-strategize, find a way to upgrade yourself here in Naija to get a better paying job so you can save more.You can also look for funding or scholarships online or free tuition schools as suggested by mrnilobrawn.You can even start the nursing here in Nigeria with your N100,000 and maybe a few years down the road, you can port.Na everyone get load wey dem dey carry,so, plan yourself well, all the best!

Just ensure you explain clearly what you've been doing,it's a national call which you don't have control over.You don't have to claim you are working if its nysc.so, just explain all this in your sop.

@Tee12345 did a fine job and it's simple;if you are doing nysc, your sop should have explained it.You won't be expected to have personal assets but that of your sponsor.Ensure your sponsor's SOA is fat, inclusive of assets like properties, shares,etc.Current employment situation/limited employment prospects came up because you made them think you were working and you didn't have anything to show that you were tied to that job, easy for you to run away. Also, you probably didn't convince them on how you want to use the course to work in Nigeria.That's why i really flowed with Tee12345's theme, it shows tnuola decided to improve herself while waiting for compulsory nysc.nothing liberates like the truth so do not deviate from your initial account with them, just make more detailed explanations in your SOP that will clarify issues.My 2kobo contribution.

I think the fact that you don't have a full time job is a negative.
You can afford not to come back.
You might need to get assets to include next time maybe from you parents.
Length of proposed stay, are you sure you actually uploaded the admission letter and it was legible?
finally, your SOP must make sense, especially the current employee situation, employment prospect,etc must be in the SOP.

Then you collect your visa and chill till towards September before you travel.
I think you can actually enter Canada 6 months before your start date but of course, that's 6 months rent and living expense outside budget.

Quick question please, Cuz I'm already in your brother's shoes, classes have started and I'm awaiting medicals, how do you intend to pass the new admision letter with new start date across to them (VO), email? Or they have to ask?

At the stage of medicals, there is no admission letter that you are sending again.I was given my visa 2 months after school had resumed and of course, i had applied and gotten admission to another school anyway as back up since the school i initially planned to attend had resumed and had told me i had to wait till fall 2015.
In essence, what you should be bothered about if at all is at the border entry.
contact your school and find out if you can still make it and if yes, print out the mail.
If you get to the border entry and they ask why you are just coming, let them know CIC delayed and the school is aware.
show them the mail exchange and you will be ok.The guys at the border are much better than those reviewing our applications,lol.
I came into Canada through Winnipeg and the lady who attended to me asked me to take pictures with a stuffed polar bear in their office while they were preparing my study permit, so, no fears.

Travel history is not a biggy, if other areas are ok, it wont matter.
Purpose of visit: If you are going for a lower degree to what you already have, or going for a program less than a year, or a course unrelated to your first degree or job and SOP does not capture this,you get this, from experience.
Ties: Inability to prove to them that you have something that you will come back to-a job, a partner or kids, a business, landed properties or other kind of investments.
Personal assets...:you are not financially able to run the program,you or your sponsor have not shown enough evidence that there is enough funds to sponsor you for this program.If you have been working, you should show your company employment, statement of account,etc
Kindly note that this is based on people and my experience cos i was denied once also.Others can also chip in.
Hope this helps and please note situations differ and affects how the VO sees things and takes decisions-if you are working, if you finished school years back and have no job, if you just finished nysc,etc.

Now how can i renew my visa and passport incase i want to travel outside Canada? Will i have to come back to Nigeria and renew my passport and visa?

I think you should renew your passport in Naija before you apply.
Guys in Canada here share terrible experiences at Nigerian embassy in Ottawa.
Immigrations in naija will ask you to write a letter requesting for a renewal given that it is not due for renewal.
Just get it done in Naija before you apply for your visa.

Expiry date on visa is dependent on your years of study of program but if passport expires before then, your visa is going to be valid till your passport expires.Note that the visa is just relevant for you traveling in or out of Canada.
When you get to Canada at the border entry, you get your student permit which is valid for the length of your program and this is the one that is most important.You cannot stay beyond that date, hope this helps.

what was your B.sc in?If there is no link with your Pgd,its an issue so, explain it in your SOP.

My friend has an admission in Canada for msc. He works in an okay company and he is sponsoring himself However, his dad sends him stipends of about 100k monthly seldom skips a month.He has documentation for his salary and money history but his dad's own is just wire transfer account to account . Does he need to show any doc for his dad? Please note that the guy is the sole sponsor of his studies. Please house help out on this!!!!

if he is self sponsoring, doesn't need the dad's doc as long as he has the funds in his account.With his statement of account, employment offer,other docs, he should be ok.

Check your cic account, there is always an attachment under your refusal.Try and use a laptop/desktop to recheck and not your phone.

i am sorry you will not be able to make the 14th Jan registration.You can hold on till say 12th if you have not gotten your visa, engage your school admissions and inform them that you have not gotten an update from the embassy on your visa application and would like to defer till fall,i.e september.They will advise you on how to go about it.that does not affect your application,you get your visa and hold on to it till when you ready to go.

The study leave actually plays a part by assuring the VO that you have something you coming back to in Nigeria;serves as a tie also.
Why are you going for PGD HR? You will have to prove why in your SOP.

I think I feel much relieved now, will research further on the schs, as time is going, to see which ones I can be able to surpass the requirements. What course did u apply for?

i think admission is highly competitive there,so,with 9jabiggurl's suggestion, it can also help future applications.

did you apply online using UMGradConnect?if yes, you can see the reason for denial though its nothing detailed.Mine was that the program was highly competitive and that there were a lot of people that met the requirements etc.
you can go ahead and look at other schools, nowahala.Try and check schools that you exceed their requirements and i think you also have to set yourself apart from the crowdv one way or the other.
