I checked online a while back and its just as the earlier lady mentioned, you have to wait for a decision.You will not be able to resume until it's approved so inform your school in case they can assist but i will say a no-no to coming back to Naija to apply for an F1

Of course i indicated that on my app and SOP, working in my sisters company, which she also indicated in her letter of support.
Even though i didn't put a letter of employment (which i will do in my re-application).
But the truth of it is no job will be waiting for anyone for 2yrs while you are away for post graduate, less of it in a country like Naija.

Not true cos where i work, i got a study leave for 2 years.You just have to open up your mind and tackle whatever reasons given for your refusal.All the best as you refire.

If after 9 years, you have decided to go back to school, you will need to write a convincing SOP.Why are you planning to go further now?Why Canada? What program are you going for and how is it linked to what you have been doing these past 9 years?If you cannot convince us on this forum, i doubt if you will convince the VO.The red flag is not gainfully employed these past few years.The good news is that you have a chance to blow the VO away genuinely.

please, kindly list the steps after submission and probable timelines please.
Also, for any feedback from the CIC, will it be via mail i.e receipt of docs, next stage,etc

Since your admission is for September, why not write your gre/toefl first before applying?

Try and contact USASK since they offer pgd, or you do a diploma or you pursue another pgd in a similar engineering line.It will be a bit tough really but just try and research well.

stick to what you started with,include any evidence you have of your business, registration papers.You can use 2 sponsors and they don't have to be related.

Thank you always for the good work you are doing. I have gotten a defer letter till may 2015 and I plan to fill a new application any time soon.

I am providing the list of documents that I submitted initially and the reasons for refusal as provided by the VO.

Please guide me as I plan to make a new application.

Documents submitted:

1. Marriage certificate
2. Admission letter
3. Receipt/evidence tuition fee payment
4. ND & HND CERT
5. My husband statement of account – N1m
6. My statement of account – N6.5m (note: my husband move N6m from his account to mine)
7. Letter of sponsorship and support from my husband
8. Pay stub of my husband
9. Reference letter from my last employer.
10. Birth certificate
11. In the SOP, I said I am self-employed and that I will handover my business to my mum to manage. I also said that my husband and my mum will take care of my two kids in my absence.
12. Land assets/property purchased at N15m in 2012 – jointly owned

Reasons for refusal:

1. You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay
2. Your travel history
3. Length of proposed stay in Canada
4. Purpose of visit
5. Your current employment situation
6. Your personal assets and financial status
7. I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources without working in Canada

How can your husband sponsor you with N1m, you should have left the funds in his account.
What did you study for your HND and what are you going for i.e program and level of study?
How long is the program for?Possible there's an issue with your admission letter.
your SOP will need work also, if you are self employed, you have to link your program with the course you going for.
You might need to get an additional sponsor who can give you an SOA of additional N5m

A quick one E-family, can someone in the US with a visit visa apply online for a visit visa to Canada?
I can't seem to find anything on this online though on one of the forms, i saw 'current country of residence' where the option for visitor exists.
so, what do you think?

1.Since it seems to me you have been legally admitted into Canada and also that you will be going by January 201,you should choose CPC Ottawa.
You will need to include a proof of legal admission into Canada for minimum of one year.
The proof of admission can either be in the form of a stamp on your passport document showing admission into Canada or a status document issued at the port of entry or other place of admission.
If an extension of the original status has been obtained,the evidence you would show will a document or stamp issued by the ministry responsible for immigration matters,providing an extension of one year or beyond.
The documents you need to show can be seen as listed in the document check-lists serial number 8.
You should submit photocopies of
*Current or expired entry/exit stamps in your national passport,(in your case,current entry stamp into Canada) and
*Current or expired status documents indicating the date you were admitted and the validity(in your case (current documents showing admission dates and validity into Canada)
Sort of saying you should submit Copies of the visa indicating you have legal residence for a minimum of 1 year in Canada.

2.Yes,your mailing labels should be in your address where you will be in Canada while your application is been processed.

There's nothing to watch out for other than to read through the instructions on www.cic.gc.ca and relate with people with similar experience here by reading through the thread.If you have been admitted to Canada for a period of more than 12 months,your visa office will be CPC-Ottawa (and not Accra).

You can go online and check living expenses for your province.
