team, when i did my medicals at Asaju, i had not yet been advised but because i had to travel and also thought i could make September (fall admission), i did it.Then, i did not have my IMM1017E with me.
two weeks afterwards, i was advised to proceed for medicals, however, it's a month now and it is still not reflecting.
Asaju said it had been uploaded.
did anyone proactively undergo his/her medicals and it reflected when he/she was advised to proceed?
kindly revert please.

Hmmn, a lot a upcoming TRV good news sha, oh well, lemme add mine cheesy

Jst got request for my passport! Once I submit, moving prayers to gear 5! FULL SPEED!! cheesy

A question for the house doh, I'm to start in January 2015, and my passport expires August 2016. I knw they won't issue beyond the validity of my passport (and it's not all too possible to renew passport that has that much validity), so just asking sha, they'll issue up to the expiry date "August 2016" only abi?

Since I'll be in ottawa, I guess I can easily renew le passport at the Naija embassy there. So house, what's your take on this?
I believe it doesn't matter the validity of your passport as long as it is 6month upwards.
The visa will be for the tenor of your program, just get a new passport when the old one expires, business continues.

Regarding semesters, it depends on the school you are applying to. Some universities run 3 semester i.e fall, summer and spring, some do 2 i.e spring and fall, while students are allowed to take extra courses in the summer months.

Not sure you will be allowed to take courses meant for fall/Spring in summer.
appreciate my guy, thanks for the clarification

Yea you can finish in 3 semesters provided you can cope with maximum credit for each semester. But you have to take few credits in one summer.

In addition,

Documents to prove that you have enough money to pay for you education. e.g Bank Statement.
must the bank statement cover the whole fees for the program or just the first year?

also for an MS program, if 30 credit hours is required, can this be completed in 3 semesters?

Are there 3 working semesters in a term or 2?

please help.

Sometimes its best you go down to the hospital and meet with the doctor to address this issue. Question them and request it shld be sent again. There could have been a mix up. Demand they show you proof they have sent it. I understand how you feel, the wait is just something else...
thanks a lot newbie

Jaydenehis: Please help ooooooooooo, my sponsor stated that my husband will be adding a bank draft to my application along with his soa which is ordinarily suppose to be enough but I decided he shouldn't buy d bank draft again because i'm not sure which bank I should use.the bank draft was to be issued in my name as additional fund. Will this be of any significance? Thanks
i do not think you should cut a draft, instead, just have your husband include his SOA, no waste money to raise draft jor.

You can ask the registrar's office to send you a scanned copy of your student account if you cannot access it showing the deposit made or a letter from their office.

mrnilobrawn: Your application is really gona be complicated for VO dat will handle ur file. Having a masters degree in law and going for diploma is a question mark...plus ur hubby to accompany you...another question mark meaning your hubby will have to leave his job, follow u to canada and be doing what while u ar studying...baby daycare?..

My sincere advice
1. With ur qualifications nd work experience have you considered the skill Immigration stuff..should be quit easier for u and your hubby can travel along with u.

2. Keep your masters away from cic and apply with the diploma offer alone (without your hubby, invite him leta wen u ar settled) if the its related to your current job.

3. Use you masters to apply for the pgd alone (without your hubby, invite him leta wen u ar settled) though its still a lower qualification from what u already have, ur sop should fill in that notion.

NOTE: if it becomes imperative for your hubby to come along, i suggest u get ur medical doctor to issue u some report/recommendation to cic addressing the situation why your hubby should accompany u

Bear in mind that Applications are treated differently. This forum might not give you the best advice. But you will learn alot being here.
perfect!!!

@siga, wetin u advise? My application has not yet been treated and my school mandated i be around for orientation program, this wednesday, while classes starts on monday. My advisor said if i don't make orientation and start of class,i will be removed from my registered courses.Anyway, my question now is if i have been removed from my courses and they ask me to go for medicals and thereafter submit my passport for the visa, how do i handle this especially at POE?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by akanni(m): 5:05pm On Sep 14, 2014
Holmes007: I dont think drafting a letter for urself is a good idea. They can call to confirm ur study leave. Which would lead to fraud! ( if caught u might face charges and banned from canny for some yrs). There is always an alternative. Be patient, ask the opinion of odas concerning this.

Going for a PGD makes more sense than ordinary diploma since u already hold a Masters degree. It all depends on u. U will have to weigh all ur options and take the risk that most suite u ( since money is involved).
All the best.
My learned friends av answered almost all,try and get a letter from your Hr stating that once you get your visa, you will be approved to go on study leave.its important you include this in your application cos it can serve as ties to your country.I will also support you going alone first but if with your baby, give proof that you can afford daycare or nanny.Hubby can come visiting 3 months later.the PGd makes more sense but try and find out what happens if you decide not to go to the school, u might only access 75% of your funds, confirm.
On teh flip side, since you already have a masters, why not go for the federals killed worker option?an express entry starts in jan, that might make more sense and give you and your hubby more time together.read that up on cic.gc.ca.

with assistance on this thread, you don't need an agent except you really are not hands on and a bit lazy.
I can beat pchax's price, lol.try and go thru previous parts, maybe part 2and 3, you should have an idea and if after that you still lost, go get an agent.

beejaybrave: My canada visa application has been refused based on the grounds that I haven't satisfied the condition I will leave canada after my program and related "excuses;" please can I still re-apply against a January start date and how do I put it right this timehuh

sorry about that, you will need to look at the reasons for refusal though and cover those grounds before reapplying. What date did you submit your application by the way?If you can share those reasons, some of us could assist you with what you need to put right.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by akanni(m):
pchax: Hello everyone.

Thanks for your support. I am to resume in January 2015 for my masters and I am putting together my student visa application at the moment.
I am doing it the online way and here is a list of documents I have gathered (or intend to gather as the case may be) apart from the application forms I downloaded online:

1. Admission Letter
2. Proof of payment of fees and accommodation
3. Letter from my school/supervisor that I may need to work in the school (Research Assistant/ Lab Assistant ish)
4. Police report
5. Brother-in-law Bank Statement of 3.5 million in the past 3 months (which is also bound to increase)
6. Letter from Brother in law stating in he would sponsor me.
7. Birth Certificate

I am not satisfied with the list because it looks pretty short and I feel like something is missing. Do I need to include educational credentials like Transcript? I already have a supervisor and she has arranged a summer job for me that would give me some level of income, do I need a letter to that effect too? Can I tender a statement of account from a fixed deposit account?

Thanks a lot for your anticipated response.
Hi pally, I am not sure that balance in your bro in law's account will satisfy the VO.Statement from a fixed deposit account is good, if you can throw in some landed docs, share certificates, etc would be fine.If you've already paid for the whole tuition and accommodation for the whole period of your masters then, it could be ok.You need evidence to show your relationship with sponsor, evidence of the job he/she does, 6 months statement not 3, letter from sponsor stating reason for sponsoring you, also wanna know how you paid the tuition, you working?
Try and read back for those with sponsors on this forum, you should get more ideas.all the best and pray!
