Grief and sorrow enveloped yesterday Umuakuru village in Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State following the mysterious death of nine members of a family whose bodies were discovered in their rooms early hours of the day.



The family had buried their 98-year-old mother, Mrs Felicia Njoku on Saturday, July 7 in their country home.

The deceased include Mr. Pascal Njoku, his wife Juliana and their five children, Ebere (first daughter), Ifunanya (second daughter), Chibueze (son) Jackline (third daughter) and Uchechi (last daughter).

Others, who also died along with the Njokus, were Mr. Njoku’s sister, Christina Uba (nee Njoku) and her friend Catherine who accompanied her to the burial.



A family relation who pleaded anonymity told Daily Sun that with the burial of their mother over and attendant funeral activities completed, the embattled family retired to bed late in the night but could not wake up the following day.

However, fingers were being pointed at a member of the family whom the source said had earlier threatened to deal with the late Njoku and his family over a lingering family problem. Not prepared to take chances over the threat, Njoku’s wife, Juliana reportedly compelled him to relocate herself and their children for safety, but her advice was ignored.



When Daily Sun visited the deceased’s residence, their corpses were yet to be taken to the mortuary as armed police and soldiers cordoned off the area to prevent possible breakdown of law and order as the youths from the area were sporting for action. An elderly man from the village told Daily Sun that the corpses would not be removed from the compound until certain rituals were performed to appease the gods of the land.



“We have never witnessed this kind of tragedy in our village. I am 90 years of age, this type of calamity had not happened before and something serious must be done to appease the gods.” Another source told Daily Sun that a pastor, who visited the family last Wednesday before the burial, suffered a spiritual attack and was unable to continue the prayer session.



A woman, who narrated her ordeal to Daily Sun also, said a day to the burial she defeacated in her dress unknowingly and was rushed to the hospital. Suspicion of the victims’ death from fumes of generating set was dismissed by eyewitness, who said the family had none.

md_autotec: The MIL lamp (check engine) is on because the ECM (engine control module) has seen one of the EFI related components (sensor/sensors) is operating out of its specific parameter. These parameters are embedded into the memory of the ECM from factory. Once out of spec the ECM will ground (earth) the negative side of the the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) circuit and permanently illuminate the MIL on the instrument cluster.

You will need to run a diagnostic scan to retrieve the the fault codes, soft (intermittent), hard (permanent)., from the ECM. This will guide you towards effective diagnosis and repair of the problem.

Just for your information, most of these used cars form the US are prone to having the MIL lit on the dashboard. Mostly it is the O2 (oxygen) or A/F sensors operating below threshold on these Camry's. Vehicle will inmost cases run fine, but it will cause excess fuel consumption.

You are absolute correct. At times, servicing a car with less quality oil also brings on the sign. But generally for me, check sign is not a treath when driving a US car in Nigeria expecially when its 2002 and below.

Mauro Zanin, an Italian arrested for alleged involvement in $111,000 fraud has reportedly committed suicide in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Abuja.The 52-year-old Italian took his life in a bathroom by strangling himself with a bedsheet in the EFCC detention facility in Abuja on Tuesday, a day before his scheduled arraignment before a Federal High Court in Abuja.The agency confirmed the development in a statement issued by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujiaren.

It reads, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC regrets to announce the passing of 52-year-old Italian, Mr. Mauro Zanin, a suspected fraudster two days before he was scheduled to appear in court.“He was found motionless in the bathroom of the Commission’s detention facility in Abuja at about 4.50 am on June 19, 2012. He had apparently committed suicide using his bedsheet.

Here in Tanke area, Ilorin Everyone is indoor and the whole environment is as quiet as grave yard.  But one ugly aeroplane has been hovering abt since morning.

Lets be realistic, the bitter truth is that it wont be easy for the federal government to reverse to 65 naira
because there was no provision in 2012 budget for fuel subsidy and i dont see government presenting supplementay budget for that.
when Goodluck presented 2012 budget to the national assembly i exepected Nigerians expecially the
Labour to raise alarm over the missing of such provision but everybody overlook that, rather threatening to make Nigeria ungovernable.
Does it make sense for labour to tell someone who just returned from his village after xmas and new year celebration to stay at home all in the name of protest,what would he eat by staying at home INDEFINITELY.
In this issue, is labour ''remedy'' not as bad as the sickness ''fuel price increment''?

Have you also asked your self where the govt will realise the 1.13tn by the end of the year bearing in mind it was not in the budget? These are the few questions you should find answers to.
