Governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom Tueday said this at the PDP National secretariat, Abuja while reacting to the controversial order by Buhari to the army and police at the poll.

The people of Nigeria are prepared to spill the last pint of their blood to defend the hard earned democracy of the nation.

In his words, “The military and other security agencies should respect their rules of engagement.

“Anything short of that will not be acceptable by Nigerians.

“It is unfortunate that a President who was elected under a democratic setting is becoming dictatorial.

“We are prepared to spill the last pint of our blood to defend our democracy”.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is holding its 84th National Executive Council(NEC) meeting in Abuja.

In attendance are the Presidential Candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, National Chairman Uche Secondus, and other party leaders.

The meeting comes a day after the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus met in Abuja, where the party condemned the postponement of the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and accused the electoral umpire of colluding with the opposition PDP.

Hours to the commencement of the elections on Saturday, February 16, INEC postponed the Presidential and National Assembly polls to February 23 and the Governorship and Houses of Assembly Elections to March 9, 2019.

The PDP had expressed outrage over the postponement of the elections and accused the ruling APC of an attempt to rig the polls by allegedly asking INEC to stagger the polls. But INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, had ruled out any form of political influence in reaching the decision, saying it was based on the logistical challenges that cropped up in the run-up to the polls.

APC Abuja Rally: The scanty attendance to President Buhari’s campaign mega rally in Abuja on Wednesday is a parody and a further indication to Mr. President and his failed APC that Nigerians have rejected them ahead of Saturday’s Presidential election.

The scanty attendance to most of President Buhari’s rallies in various parts of the country has further revealed that the APC only fabricated figures in their claims that 14.8 members of the APC voted for him at the flawed convention.

Nigerians can now further see that the figures were concocted by APC leaders to give an impression that President Buhari has massive support across the country, as well as use it as basis to allocate fictitious figures for him in the Presidential election.

President Buhari, who was pelted by Nigerians at his campaign rally in Ogun state on Monday, again slurred at the Abuja rally and, as usual, could not even articulate any meaningful message for his very scanty audience at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

The failed rallies, should serve as an ample signal to President Buhari and the APC that Nigerians have moved ahead in rallying with the people’s candidate, Atiku, and no amount of enticement or intimidation can change that resolve.

The attention of the PDP has been drawn to the heavy deployment of top security chiefs to Kwara State, the home state of the Senate President and Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Bukola saraki, ahead of the general elections.

This is part of the plot by the APC-led Federal Government to intimidate, harass, create fears in the minds of voters and rig elections in the state.

As part of the plot, the DSS has deployed its Director of Operations, Etteng Bassey, as well as the State Directors in charge of Ogun and Anambra States to Kwara State ahead of Saturday’s elections while the Director in charge of Kwara State has been moved to Benue.

This is in addition to the deployment of hundreds of other DSS operatives from Abuja to Kwara state. We also have it on good authority that soldiers will from tomorrow cordon off all entry points to the personal house of Senate President in Ilorin & his late father’s compound in Ilofa.

Similarly, the Police have made heavy deployment of officers and men from its headquarters in Abuja to Ilorin, Kwara state capital, where they have been instructed to arrest key political players loyal to Senator bukola saraki.

The PDP however notes that these vicious plots by the APC and the Buhari Presidency will come to naught, as Nigerians are ready to confront all aggressions and vote them out at the general elections.

The Rivers State Command of the Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned two INEC officials before a Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt for allegedly stealing and selling 3,097 permanent voter cards (PVCs) in the custody of INEC.

Both officials in Opobo Nkoro Opobo Nkoro Local Government Area of the State and a Politician were arraigned on Thursday.

Also arraigned was a 25-year-old man allegedly for impersonating an INEC official and defrauding persons by promising them jobs after paying the sum of N3,800 Naira into an account.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi on Thursday admitted that Nigerians are hungry under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Amaechi, who is the Director General of the Buhari campaign organisation said that while the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Nigerians are hungry, members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are growing fatter.

He made the remark during the APC Presidential campaign rally in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.


The former Governor of Rivers State alleged that the PDP made their money through stealing.

Amaechi also charged Nigerians to question his successor in Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike to disclose how he made his money.

He said: “We are hungry, we are growing slim but PDP is growing fatter, let me tell you how they made their money, they made their money through stealing.

“There is a man in Rivers State who has so much money, let him tell us how he made his money.

“It’s time to stop them by using your PVCs, ensure you collect it and use them.

‘Let me tell you Buhari has directed that we construct railway to Jalingo and this will create jobs for people of the state.
