With all the brilliance oozing from this thread. We all can do something.

But I will type something up shortly. Make I nap small  jare    wink wink wink wink
Yes, but whatever you say will not remove 'religion'. It is too late, obviously. So add it to the equation and quit trying to remove religion instead e.g. pray, fast, vigil, 'sow seed', etc for a job and SEEK FOR IT DILIGENTLY AND LEGITIMATELY will definately work.

I'm not sure if u read my previous statements: But I clearly knowledge that Nigerians PRAY and are very PRAYERFUL. Nigeria is ranked and acknowledged as the most religious country in the world and I've stated this several times, once again if u read my posts, the question becomes, for a country so prayerful and religious, why is there soo much pain, poverty, and suffering ?

And I think that u partly answered the question in the quote higlighted above.
So madam what can we all practically do? Could you please give examples.

Not a Winners Member. . . okay, not sure why I felt the need to make that clear. Anyway, it possible that this was said in the same manner some say

“The God of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego?”

Or the God of Daniel
Very good thinking.
I cant see any sensible argument against that. As long as the focus is on God He is the God of whoever.

BTW I'm also not a member of Winners.

The man can use the same money he used to but his two private jets, maintain them and finance his extravagant lifestyle to offer free education or worst case highly subsidized education to people. That is what a man who is trruly serving God would do. There are still a lot of missionary schools in Nigeria today run by the orthodox churches that are highly subsidized and are offering qualitative education. (Please cite examples as good as Covenant Uni.)

Even the hospital established by winners church charges exhorbitantly for it's services, i once knew of a pregnant member of the church who was refused admission to the hospital to deliver her baby just because she could not afford the 60k deposit required.

I also know for a fact that covenant university does not offer scholarship to less priviledge students, i was once involved in trying to assist a student there and i found out that no such scholarship existed.(ok, even though I can't verify that.)
i concur 2 that

to my greatest surprise
they stated all the types of credit cards on it
so u can pay your offering with credit card
found this really intresting anfunny

So in the same vain, all those who go to church with their bibles in their mobile phones and not in print are really 'interesting and funny', right? Using a credit card to pay offering does not mean you lose your will and self control over the card.
madamkoko;
I know people who got kicked out of Convenant because they couldn't afford school fees.  So if they got kicked out, I doubt if such opportunity exists.
Dont forget that its not a free school so people will definately get kicked out for not affording the fees. Fine, Covenant University is expensive and good. And it probably doesnt offer scholarships. But don't be so eager to blame Pastors for Nigeria's problems. Gullibility is optional.

At AKO, I don't think that CU should be free, of course not now!!! What I'm saying is, I wonder if they are scholarship opportunities for a few BRILLIANT POOR children. So that them too, can experience, the wealth of God after their education.

Abi, won't Jesus help the poor.
Since you cant verify that they are not providing scholarships for a few BRILLIANT POOR children (few is relative, could be 1!), its best not to make such a comment. Or can you verify?

I agree with you 100%. Oyedepo did not say it yet some people are being so blind and hateful. For instance if you defraud someone with my identity should I be blamed?

KunleOshob:
What do you expect from a pastor who flies around in a private jet whilst people around him don't have food toeat. His covenant university is one of the most expensive in the country (strictly business) i wonder what happened to the concept of missionary schools that provided free education that was run by churches.
In the Nigerian Economy of 2008, I'd like to know where you will source for funds to provide free education at the same standard of Covenant University. Honestly.

Check on 'Start' button > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Device Manager clicking the icon of DVD/CD to ensure that is enabled for auto-run for any CDs/DVDs inserted to play automatically.

Also make sure the icon of DVD/CD drive on Device Manager is not a YELLOW EXCLAMATION ('!') telling you that is missing driver for this CD/DVD drive.

If there is YELLOW EXCLAMATION ('!') on DVD/CD drive icon, then therefore you need driver update download from its computer manufacturer where she bought from.

Good luck!
Thanks, but there is no "Device Manager" in my own list under system tools.

ComputersHelp-: Pc Wont Play Dvds!?! by AKO1(op): 8:48pm On Jul 07, 2008
Hi,

I'm trying to help a good friend of mine. She has a fairly new desktop PC. The CD drive indicates that it can play and write recordable (and normal) DVDs (DVD-R is written on it).

She tried to play a movie before but it didnt play. At this time there was no other DVD software installed. I gave her AVS and she installed it but it still wont play. It plays VCDs by the way

What could be the problem?

Thanks.

I've heard the argument that Songs of Solomon was edited to the Rated G version,

I'd like a copy of the Hebrew, Greek, or Aramaic version
lol, yeah right cheesy

Anyway I think this whole thing is quite simple.

Lady pastors generally have or are expected to have more moral laws that they keep. Most of these are not stipulated in the constitution or defined by society but are contained in the BIBLE. An obvious example is the law of 'no sex before marraige'.

On the contrary (to follow up the example), society (particularly western) dont uphold these high morals and so anything goes. I know this is quite obvious but I just felt the need to repeat so that you get my point.

Which is that if you do not hold these high morals, you have no business asking a Lady Pastor out because you are going to get Hot before marriage and your two options would be to rape her or to cheat on her. Either way, you are destroying the relationship in the short and long run, obviously. Yes, opposites attract but there are opposites that repel.

Don't date a Lady Pastor if the two of you are not agreed on moral (religious) conduct. If you are agreed then it will/should be a piece of cake.

QED. . . . .

I'm very sorry about your loss and pray that god gives you the strength to feel better day by day.

I understand and share your frustration.

You do not deserve the treatment that you got. I suggest that you prayerfully consider leaving that church. A shepherd under the Good Shepherd who cannot tend the flock of Christ is not worth being under. Neither do they deserve to be in such a position.

If your mum was not an offender in her 8 years as a member of the church, there is probably no other reason why they would not want to officiate her wake keep.

You could talk to other Christians in your immediate environment for counsel on the next step. Also, find a better church. And do that prayerfully.

The following is not intended to poke fun but to expose reality and provoke thought.

This conversation took place in an office. Sister Mercy attends one of the big churches in Abuja, its name was witheld by the person that first told me the joke.

Sister Mercy: Ahmed good morning, how body now?
Ahmed: I dey, this yeye AC just dey cold me. . .  shey nothing?
Sister Mercy: Ehn I just want ask you one small sometin. . . .you know, for our church we dey donate money for the victims of the pipe explosion in Lagos, so I just want give u this envelope, anything wey u fit ,
(cuts in)Ahmed: Ahn ahn you people, shey the one wey they dey collect for church no dey do you?, you wan to dey collect offering outside church again. . .
Sister Mercy: No haba now, I told you its for the victims.
Ahmed: So how much you don collect already
Sister Mercy: Ahn ahn that one no concern you, your own na just to contribute.
Ahmed: contribute ko, contribute ni, how much I fit give wey go solve another man's problem?
Sister Mercy: Nothing is too small for the Lord, besides, God looks at the heart not the amount. You know the bible says give and it will come back to,
Ahmed: I hear you; I hear you but my own be say, no be my N500 wey go solve their problem. In fact you people for that your church just dey disturb yourelfs. If I dey part of una, I go just tell d Pastor say make he sell one or two of His suits; that one fit solve their problem. . . .

Christianity EtcRe: Pentecostal Churches & Their Expensive Schools by AKO1(m): 10:11pm On Jun 29, 2008
In all of this the reporter failed to note that the quality of the standard of education in many of these private universities is second to none when compared with our cheaper federal institutions.

It is disheartening to see that almost 80% of members of any church who not only pay their tithe but also contributed their widow’s mite never had the privilege of having their children attend this school because, it will be difficult if not impossible for them to afford the exorbitant charges demanded by this school which n all intent and purposes should not be so.
How does one make quality cheap without going bankrupt in the long run? Should they compromise quality for quantity?

These schools can however provide scholarships to a significant and resonable number of bright but under priviledged individuals. I think that is the best that they can do.

If you want to compare the school fees then to school fees now, you may be unaware of or may have refused to factor in the economic concept called inflation. Or are the fees of your alma mater still the same as when you were there?
