Im neither a member of RCCG nor a fan of Adeboye; I speak objectively.

The honest truth is that most threads start off on a definite note but the posters skew off into all kinds of sub-topics. Someone who was attracted by the title of the thread and wants to reply directly to that would have to without paying attention to the sub/off topic posts of previous people.

This is particularly true of sections with cliques like the Phone and Romance sections.

I dont think its talkng about bribery. "Farthing" is an old english word for penny. I think it is figurative for punishment i.e. such a person will not be released until they have served their full jail term. But literarilly, it could mean bail.

As a Nigerian, you know that you can not tell an Igbo joke in Yoruba language to an Hausa, and thing it will mean the same as when it is told in Igbo to an Ibo? If you want to tell Hausa a joke, tell hause joke in Hausa language.
But when you tell hausa an Ibo story, in forced Yoruba, and he ask you for the story record as it is written originally in Igbo. If you can not produce it, I am certain that the hausa man will think that you are playing him, about the story. That you made it all up, or part of it or take some of it out. For whatever reason.

This is human nature. God would not ask us to believe something that we can not simply reason out. He will not give us rationality with irrational thoughts.

God is direct in truth. He will not give us clumsy things to think about and also as a source of our information.

That is why like I said, the Amplified Bible gives the literal translation of the original languages, so the language barrier problem is nearly zero.

I think there is a joke among the Christians, that says if you have X number of Christians in a gathering, chances is that your will have X+1 different Bible. As I read the quotes above, I can not but wonder, where is the Original in the Original language that it was revealed?

I have no idea because I am not a Bishop or Rabbi of any sort. I trust that the books are in a secure location. It was written originally in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic. I think the[b] best[/b] translation of the bible today is the Amplified Bible. Because it gives you the literal english translation of the original language(s), removing the human error(s) made in the process of translation.

I stand to gain nothing. However, the Thomases; the die hard atheists and muslims need to see before they believe. Jesus did not refuse to show Thomas His hands when he asked. God even said:

However, He balanced things up and said that we are more blessed because we see without believing!

There are people who must see. Most of them are not christians yet. We (the whole body of Christ) must rise to the occassion and take miracles/the supernatural from the confines of crusade grounds and what have you to the places where these die hard critics are. I am not given to condemning another persons church because no matter what is happening, true or false, Christ is being preached, people are getting genuinly born again and are saved from hell. And I believe that is happening all the time in Christ Embassy all over.

I hope you are convinced that I stand nothing to gain. I know that I am more blessed for believing without seeing. But there are those who must see and it is for them I write. Cheers.

IF youre not an atheist and you are questioning biblical events then I dont think you should consider yourself a christian. Its not personal attack, its just simple logic.

How do you know Jesus died for your sins? Whats your proof?

The bible is eternally true. As a christian, I dont need to explain that to you in depth. But every other thing that happens outside and after it is subject to valid scrutiny.

They were not physically and scientifically explainable. But there was no controversy as to whether they were authentic. Thats the obvious difference.

What we usually see on TV is 'after' and on very few occassions, 'before and after'.

We really should be seeing 'before, during and after'. That will silence all the critics.
