Indispensable85:True,if APC can step up the propaganda but I would have preferred if they dished it out around august or Sept so that it will influence the polls.at this rate,it might die down before sept and pdp may counter.i think APC should also encourage things that will strengthen akpata as most of his followers are pro pdp.in this case,if APC does not win any bini lga, they lose narrowly From the 2020 polls,APC biggest defeat outside Edo south was esan West that's why I give it to pdp.but for APC to win it in the assembly polls and for hon onobun to struggle there and with the massive resignations I am seeing, you may be right. APC best result in Esan in 2020 was from esan south east.again, hon okojie won esan SE/esan NE massively which means APC is very strong there.if Asue wins,it will be marginal.due to the influence of hon Agbebaku, pdp should win or lose owan west narrowly. |
A member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Charles Idahosa, has joined All Progressivea Congress (APC) in Edo state. Idaho State, who is an ally of Governor Godwin Obaseki resigned his membership of PDP on April 29. He revealed that his greatest regret, while in PDP, was not allowing Obaseki to resign three times as Edo governor, when he opened up to him (Idahosa) in his Benin residence that he was tired of governing the hitherto volatile state. He said he encouraged him to continue as Edo governor while describing power as an intoxicant. Idahosa, a former senior political adviser to a former Edo governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, spoke at his private residence, off Airport Road, Benin, while being issued APC’s membership card by the party’s chairman in Uhunmwonde local government area in Benin Kingdom, Osayemwenre Osawe. The colourful ceremony was witnessed by a former Edo Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu; the National Women Leader of APC, Dr. Mary Alile; and her husband, Pius Alile, a chieftain of APC; as well as Edo Secretary of APC, Lawrence Okah; and many other chieftains of the party, whose teeming supporters were drumming, singing and dancing. Idahosa, a foundation member of APC, who joined Obaseki and others to defect from the party (APC) to PDP on June 19, 2020, ahead of the September 19, 2020 governorship election, expressed optimism that the governorship candidate of APC in Edo, Senator Monday Okpebholo, would emerge victorious on September 21. He urged members of the party (APC) to be united and keep their eyes on the ball. PDP’s former BoT member declared that the party (PDP’s) standard bearer in Edo, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, a Lagos-based lawyer, would not be able to get 80 per cent of the votes, as earlier boasted by Obaseki, his main backer, while insisting that Okpebholo, the representative of Edo Central Senatorial District, would succeed Edo governor on November 12 this year. Idahosa described Samuel Ogbemudia as the best Edo governor, while stressing that his return to APC was not to contest election or accept political appointment. He pointed out that he would not be a threat to members of the party, while stating that nobody should be worried, as he was determined to support APC members and other Edo electorate, for Okpebholo to be the next governor of the Southsouth state. Ofunaofu:Over 30 projects |
Ofunaofu:He failed waec but has projects for his people while Asue the intelligent ones has no regard for his people |

NzogbuNzogbu:Do you know what a stooge means? Between Asue that was imposed by obaseki the failure and okpebholo that won on his own,who be stooge |
Ofunaofu:Pdp is a bigger disaster in Edo |
Indispensable85:I am not surprised, this might be close to what will happen as my calculations show okpebholo winning the entire north, central and most parts of south.but,I'll be modest and still leave uhumnwonde,Egor, esan south east, esan West and owan west for him |
_Obaseki moves to buy votes, pressure INEC to conduct CVR_ Palpable fear have enveloped the camp of Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki as an analysis released by election experts hired by him have shown that Asue Ighodalo will lose the Edo2024 Gubernatorial election coming up in September this year. The election experts hired by Obaseki himself from Lagos have a good track record of predicting outcome of election in Nigeria. The group who used sampling of voters opinions across the 18 local government areas released their findings projecting a 55% victory for APC candidate Senator Monday Okpebholo. PDP’s Asue Ighodalo is said to trail behind the APC candidate with a 35% vote while Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata was projected to secure 9% with other candidates cumulating just 1%. The report said Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressive Congress will win in Etsako West, Etsako East, Etsako Central, Owan East, Owan West and Akoko Edo Local Government Areas. In Edo Central surprisingly the report projected APC’s Senator Monday Okpebholo to sweep all five Local Governments in the Senatorial District including Asue Ighodalo’s Esan South East. The report however streamlined the battle to Edo South where APC is projected to sweep Orhionmwon, Uhumode, Ovia South West, Ovia North East and Egor LGAs. Surprisingly Asue Ighodalo of PDP is projected to win Ikpoba Okha and Oredo but with a margin not significant enough to cause any upset. This report has raised tension in government house with Obaseki seeking various options to turn the tides of events. Government house sources say Obaseki is hinging on massive vote buying in various guises including giving money to traders, supply of palliatives to religious bodies, socio political groups, civil societies, traditional rulers and so on. Obaseki is also mounting pressure on INEC to conduct a continuous voter registration to enable young voters who were mostly not up to age during the last registration exercise to get their permanent voters card and participate in the election. Sources from INEC Headquarters in Abuja said though there are pressures from Governor Obaseki to conduct the CVR exercise, time was not favourable for the project as the election was barely four months away. https://edonewsng.com/tension-in-government-house-as-initial-election-analysis-show-asue-will-lose-to-okpebholo/ Mynd44 Nplfmod Fergie001 Seun Jorussia Indispensable85 Ekpenuwa |

Ahead of the governorship election in Edo State on September 21, 2024, former Niger Delta militants under the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA) have endorsed the standard bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo. PlayUnmute Fullscreen A statement signed by ‘Major General’ Johnmark Ezonebi, said it is imperative to make the critical decision. He said the leaders of the dreaded Niger Delta militant group, RNDA, after their crucial meeting in one of the creeks about the candidates of the various political parties contesting the governorship election in Edo State, have resolved on who to adopt and support to win the contest. Ezonebi said, “We want to let the people of Edo State know ahead of the election about who we have endorsed and will support to victory, and he is nobody else than the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo, so the people of the state would not fall into the hands of a party and their candidate that does not mean well for them. “Senator Monday Okpebholo nicknamed ‘Akpakomiza’ is a man of impeccable character with a high sense of humour and passion for the lives of the Edo people. He is a Senator, who has been distinguished based on his track record and achievements, and specifically, what attracted and endeared him to us is his giant strides in infrastructural development and human capital building, and this is what we yearn for in the Niger Delta region. “We will mobilise massively to ensure the people of Edo State vote en masse for Senator Okpebholo, and this victory will be a landslide victory because we have our structure across Edo State to the ward level. We have set in motion our mechanisms to sensitize and get the full assurance of the people, and we will not leave any stone unturned as far as this election is concerned.” Mynd44 Nplfmod Fergie001 Seun Jorussia Indispensable85 |
Indispensable85:The ward 2 leader of Apc in uhumnwonde resigned |
13greens:Yes oh,the best actor in nigeria |
Indispensable85:True and that propaganda is already on and was started by Lp and APC has latched onto it same way pdp trended Edo no be Lagos.if that one die down, they can bring the godfatherism aspect. For now,it is looking like an APC victory but I am afraid of what obaseki might do to manipulate votes in that Benin metropolis |
Indispensable85:APC is very weak in ikpoba and there are still fighting for leadership |
Jorussia:No,idahosa own is settled,he said he wants a homeboy and senator met him this week.but I don't think APC is that weak in uhumnwonde,we still try there compared to Oredo, ikpoba. Why have the party refused to settle the leadership problem in ikpoba between hon E.J and osarobo? This might cause APC to lose there heavily.the amount of massive resignations from pdp in ESANland is alarming |
Jorussia:Adjoto hadn't left pdp yet,he only aligned with the legacy group of Orbih just like Shuaibu.the ward 2 leader of Apc in uhumnwonde also left |
Indispensable85:Victoria omu left APC alongside a strong guy in akoko Edo |
fergie001:Very illegal |
Ekpenuwa:You need to convince me more.why support Idahosa when it is central's turn? How strong is APC in Oredo and Egor |
