Please be warned, people. Some guys seem to be targeting owners of domain names with the "meta" keyword.

I received an email about about three hours ago, purportedly from Meta's legal department, informing me of a trademark infringement as regards one of my domains having that keyword.

A quick search few minutes ago revealed that it was most likely a scam email. It included a link with "ad-facebook.com" as the domain name.

Yet, this domain name (mine) is priced at less than 1,200 bucks. Maybe this is a sign to hike the price.

Update: This is looking somewhat real from further research.

Meanwhile, while waiting for a domain to show dropped/available on ED, I went ahead to check it at the registrar and saw it was available; I registered it sharp sharp. This is the second I'll be experiencing this.

If this will help, also check around your location for big stores or rich houses. Chances are that there may be CCTV and one of them might have caught faces while they walked by since they lived in your compound for sometime.

Its not an high-class area. To the best of my knowledge, there's one 1 house before mine that uses outdoor CCTV.

The landlord or landlady should atleast have their phone number and possibly acct no from rent payment. Pls check for these.

With either one they can be tracked

The previous occupant transferred the room to those women after receiving payment from the women.

People are getting more desperate and you as a landlord needs to know a bit of history of your tenants. I will advise you find the old tenant and start from there
