@easimoni,

Its all part of the TA learning process, and its very easy to understand once you get your head around it. When I was new in Options Trading my ex-collegaues used to shout "today is a Gravestone Doji" in the office and I would secretly bind them saying "today is no Gravestone for me O! it is the day the Lord has made". Anyway, Candlestick charting adds certainty to the fundamentals of a stock because the price action determines the earnings in the long run.

got this in response to my query to nigeriansec.co thise guys are good and very prompt, i'm impressed, at this time of night too.

Thanks you for the feedback.

The green candlesticks represent days that the closing price is higher than the opening, and the red candlesticks represent the days the closing price is below the opening price.

We will include a legend in a shortwhile among the enhancements to NS Technical Analyst that will come in our phase 2.

A Black Marubozu I presume ! The Candlestick pattern looked too short or vague on todays charts so I couldnt really decipher the trend.
yep! a black marubozu or in the case of nigeriansecurities.com case. a red marubozu

@easimoni cheesy cheesy
long candlesticks are the Marubozu brothers, red and green. Marubozu do not have upper or lower shadows and the high and low are represented by the open or close. A green Marubozu forms when the open equals the low and the close equals the high. This indicates that buyers controlled the price action from the first trade to the last trade. red Marubozu form when the open equals the high and the close equals the low. This indicates that sellers controlled the price action from the first trade to the last trade.

hope its clearer now

Thanx for the prognosis but you have not actually confirmed what Candlestick pattern emerged today for Dunlop, I was presuming it was an Inverted Hammer-what do you say it was ?

@Pumpin 777

i don't think this is the best time to enter oceanic o!
I suggest you wait for the close of a few more candles
my 5 EMA is turning bearish over my 15 EMA,
even though the lower shadow on the last candle formed a spinning top, a few more days would definitely create a better entry point than now!
The bullish trend correction is not over yet

pls correct me if i'm wrong but i understand that when using EMAs, the closer they are together, the more accurate eg using 10 & 15 day EMAs will be more accurate than using 20 & 50 day EMAs. EMAs are good short term indicators.
i agree about oceanic, i think it may be entering a trading range with little price fluctuations. still dont see it dropping below N28 though.

@Aktopgun,

Could you kindly confirm if the Candlestick chart pattern at the end of todays Trade transactions for Dunlop Plc is an "Inverted Hammer". If it is, then one needs to wait for the next days transaction to confirm the emerging trend (i.e of a  Bearish pattern in an uptrend).
Londoncool

its not an inverted hammer. it shows sellers were in control.
The Hammer is a bullish reversal pattern that forms after a decline. In addition to a potential trend reversal, hammers can mark bottoms or support levels. After a decline, hammers signal a bullish revival. The low of the long lower shadow implies that sellers drove prices lower during the session. However, the strong finish indicates that buyers regained their footing to end the session on a strong note. While this may seem enough to act on, hammers require further bullish confirmation. The low of the hammer shows that plenty of sellers remain. Further buying pressure, and preferably on expanding volume, is needed before acting. Such confirmation could come from a gap up or long white candlestick. Hammers are similar to selling climaxes, and heavy volume can serve to reinforce the validity of the reversal.

the rsi is still ok and the macd can go either way.

i got this from nigeriansecurities as a reply to my query. so na ndidi and her people dey cause katakata. nigsec don update their site

Thank you for using NigerianSecurities.

Your observation may be correct as we have found out that NSE publishes several results during the course of the day. We publish what we get from them as they are the only one that can provide results. However what we do is to however  check again and do our updates again 4 hours after trading is done for the day so as to ensure our data is accurate at the end of the day. This is because we can not afford for the integrity of our data to be compromised as it serves as a feed to some of our tools.

Be rest assured that at the end of the day , we have whatever it is NSE has published finally for the day.

We hope this explanation was helpfull.

@easi

dunlop's uptrend is coming down, it has done well as shown from ur chart but if u look at the right side of the main graph, dips are showing. also see from the macd histogram thats showing decresing positivity. this wave of increase in price is slowing definitely i think but if one is in for the long haul flight then by all means, enjoy!

Did I just hear you say I was complaining about my broker? For where, na my accent dey confuse you. cheesy
UTC don take off with about 0.73 kobo gain in 2 days and 1st Aluminum too no wan hear.

If my Broker could get me “Aunty Juli” tomorrow again join this one, ago just marry the woman lady (broker) straight.   grin grin grin
@crazyT

are u entering juli for the long term or CICO? if it is the later then u may want to put that wedding on hold for now, the price is too high now and a drop is coming in a week or so, maybe more, maybe less. if u enter at today's price u may not meet the 20-25% profit margin soon.
but if u are in it for longer than CICO then carry go! cheesy don't have easi's chart at hand on the fundamentals but i trust u don do ur homework finish patapata cheesy cheesy

@TY ADEMOLU

omo from the charts i dey look the fall is likely to continue o! here's how i see it, but i could be wrong  wink

rsi- trending down now even though still above 70-line
macd histogram (earliest sign giver for me) is trnding down
macd trending down
candlesticks show sellers dominated now 2 days in a row, and today ran the whole show from start to finish
if u believe in gap theory (still learning this one), the opening price today was lower than opening price yesterday,

the decision is still urs, u can stick it out if u are in dunlop long term but if u are a trader, u may want to cut ur losses.

@oxfordkid

i'll leave easi to fill u in on deapcap and the goings on there. from the tech side, seems some turbulence up ahead.

@dollycute

girl, really its not too difficult, just time consuming but when u consider its money involved, well u know now. just concentrate on 3 or 4 indicators and master them, u cant use them all, and u wouldnt want to any way. i favor the macd (simple and reliable), the macd histogram, rsi, and ema and of course the candles. invaluable information. add it to the fundamentals and u have a winner, long and short periods

i don't see it dropping below N28 if it indeed does drop further. N26 is unlikely but in our NSE never say never!
