Oga please I think it will be better if you start a separate trend for Candle/Japanese so that you don’t sidetrack us with it, like easimoni started the technical thing and uncle Napolean is planning to open one for long extensive posting.
see me see trouble o! are u asking me to leave the thread because i post candlestick analysis, so that i don't distract us. Harrisoft, who be the us wey u dey refer to?

so i should stop posting because u feel side tracked? what exactly are u on about mate? if its a case of u not understanding what is posted then by all means, ignore it. afterall, the charting pattern is about stocks and not candle manufacturing ke!!

nah mate, nah. its a free forum and until u start urs i suggest u either ignore my posts or get used to it! What the , huh huh huh
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by aktopgun(m): 7:44pm On Feb 18, 2008
harami- meaning "pregnant" in japanese

rules of recognition:
1. a long day is preceded by a reasonable trend
2. the color of the first day isnt as important but it is best if it reflects the pattern, ie green color in an uptrend and red in a down trend. this isnt a strict law though
3. a short day follows the lond day with its body completely inside the body range of the long first day
4. the short day should be the opposite color of the long first day

so there u have it. i expect more jibes and jokes about this cheesy cheesy

shebi we dey talk am for this thread over this weekend for here say transcorp is a disaster waiting to happen and people begin throw analysis and info based on wishes . the candles down blow out for transcorp o!  cheesy  cheesy

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST.

If u are not a big time player(and by that i mean u if u are not ndidi, obj or other directors) it would be investment suicide to put ur hard earned dosh into a compnay like transcorp. Just my opinion. The biggest boys have it to spare(mostly embezzled of course  wink  wink) and this TS shows they play games to which other investors don't know the rules. wasa reason given for the TS? were the papers filed last week abi when, wey nobody hear? Naija sha! this na executive fiat on NSE's (or should i say ndidi's part)
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by aktopgun(m): 7:32am On Feb 18, 2008
@londoncool

u remeber the candlestick we were talking about last week, querying whether it was a marubozu or not?, well i have been doing some studying and actually, its a type of marubozu, called the opening marubozu cuz it doesnt have a candlewick extending above the opening price. in cases where there is a candle wick extending from the opening price end and none from the closing price end, then it would be a closing marubozu. interesting stuff.

i've been looking closely at the patterns on the NSE viz-a-viz candlestick charting and its quite revealing, its like having a code and being able to decode it because u are able to understand the language its written in. I know most fellas on here are skeptical about TA generally and candlestick charting in particular, which is why i decided to "hold my peace". i no want make person come say na "topgun candle" make am lose im life savings, i no wan die young cheesy cheesy.
i will combine it with my weapons though. u never know when it will be needed. I wonder why i tend to think of investing as a sort of war? maybe cuz its me vs the market. So i need all the weapons i can get really.

Happy investing

@deoba

i hope u are right for ur sake cheesy cheesy. what exactly are u basing ur view on though? do u know something thats not public knowledge? come on share share share! cheesy

i would class transcorp as a turnarond at best and the turn around is still being sorted out sef. it may succeed, it may not. probably still has a ways to go but knowing the NSE, anything is impossible especially with all the "big names" (yeah right, only in nigeria! , not strictly true though) being mentioned with the company

Iyke-D:
It was evident Transcorp bit off more than its young teeth could chew with NITEL, and also could have done
better to help its case, but then lets pause for a minute here.  .  .

  - A month ago, NCC supposingly gave Transcorp 6 months to improve MTEL or lose its license
  - 3 weeks ago, the Senate in charge of Telecommunication endorsed its transformation strategy
  - Just a week ago, the government announced the resolution to dilute both its and Transcorp shareholding
in order to make way for a new core investor and have forwarded the resolution to Yar Adua for approval
  - So between last week and yesterday, the minister or FG trashed the resolution and CANCELLED the sale
    (so much for due process)?
  - Weren't all these respective stakeholders in the same meeting with Transcorp in December?
  - Also, what does CANCEL or REVERSE mean? Is it 0% for Transcorp or is it 10% or 15% or 24%?

Finally, how does the government expect to a get a new so called "majority" investor if they planned to still
control NITEL?  How can you say another entity "owns" something and yet the government is still calling the
shots on what goes on with NITEL (higher board representation, and other interferences).  What guarantee
will the FG offer to the new core investor that the next government will not REVERSE the sale?

Heck, unless the government has a ready buyer (very unlikely if they are invoking their due process) I wonder
where they are getting +$500million to re-pay Transcorp? So does Transcorp still owns 51% until they a find a
new buyer? If that's the case, what is the sense in this latest announcement and how is that different from the
joint resolution that was announced last week? Hey, this is Nigeria, it will be incomplete if there is no confusion.

Did I hear somebody say a $1billion lawsuit again?  smiley
i believe the bottom line is unless u have big liver (probably meaning there might be a cancerous growth there ie problem with the investment style being used  cheesy), TRANSCORP may be a company u want to steer clear of.
even if its a CICO opportunity, there still for me needs to be some under-pinning fundamental foundation. i work too hard for my cash to throw it away honestly. TRANSCORP and the like are not worth it frankly

Napolean:
As per what Wanaj0 mentioned earlier about Chams essentially alloting/selling a chunk to UBA Global who have sold some, hoarded some and wished to poach some from the other issuing houses is all very true. But those that are in will smile and those that are not take solace in the fact that there are always better offers.
Some that missed Zenith at 10.90 in 2004 thought life had ended but those that bought Fidelity about two years later at less than N2 have made similar capital appreciation in a shorter period of time. Before you pounce I did not mention divs or splits.  Basically there is always a better deal ahead. If you missed out on CHAMS do yourself a favour find out from your agent if your in, if not get your money back sharpish. A serious issuing house, if you bought directly would not have cashed you cheque yet because they should have matched availabilty to sell with requests. Depends on procedure used.

Interswitch is a  similar situation. They are not listing this year and they have selected a few (literally) entities so sell to. The offer price is N2.00 for a 50 kobo stock. Therefore you have the option of waiting for listing or getting a seller to cross at a premium. However the sale and transfer has not been formalised yet, so nobody can tell you they have anything warehoused now to sell. If you hear such gist in less than the next 6 weeks na 419. I will make calls this weekend then on Monday mention at least one of the selected companies that would be willing to cross. This is because it is early days, if you do not wish to get in now and tie your money down for a least a year untill listing you have the option of waiting to see if it will open up to more houses to sell through nearer the time. Both options are fine.

Starcomms and Multilink both a have a degree of foreign interest in them and I will make a few calls tonight/tomorrow and try to suggest the best way in. I know the registrar of only one of these companies and will confirm the second to you folks by monday. Sounds silly but even if the house you buy from is not forth coming with a prospectus, make sure you scrutinize the financials first. You will surprised how many rushed CHAMS without reading the prospectus, evaluating the projections or knowing what the company is really about.

I must apologise for my verbose rants. Chatting away into my laptop I don't notice the lines flying.

I should not like the sound of my own voice. So shorter more concise contributions are in order.
uncle napoleon, i for one will be waiting ot hear from you.
as far as i know, there isnt a limit to the length of posts on nairaland so talk as much as u feel u need to or is necessary by all means.
