I think japa is a very personal decision. If you choose to stay in Nigeria, what do you stand to gain or lose? Nigeria is mineral rich but economically poor and not showing any signs of improvement. You either continue to struggle to survive and accept all the risks or take your chances in a different country.
1. The Naira is depreciating and the resultant effect is increased cost of living.
2. Your current salary is abysmal given the current economic realities
3. Starting a business is fantastic but anything that is tied to the Naira is already disadvantaged. Also note that people have less disposable income at the moment.
4. In Nigeria, Security and Health Care happens to all. Try not to find yourself wanting, even your money may not save you.

If you choose to travel to any western country there are pros and cons depending on how and where you choose to go. Western countries have far bigger economies with more commercial activities and opportunities. I can go on and on but I'll summarize by saying, life is not easy anywhere. You'll have to work and be innovative to provide enough value to make a good living regardless of the country. If you choose to travel, you need a good strategy. I left Naija in June 2022 and moved to Canada as a PR. In my one and half year here I have made more money than I made in my over 7 years working in Nigeria (currently in the top 10% earners here). Regardless of how you move, 5 years is a good timeline for you to stand very tall if you're determined to work hard. I use to be an ambassador for the "stay in Nigeria" group Currently, I find it very hard to discourage anyone thinking of travelling. "E go better, E go better", that's how Nigeria has eaten the productive years of a lot of people. Your 30s is prime time for hustle make the right decision for yourself (to stay or go). Life should be experienced and sometimes you need to take chances, you must not live and kpeme in the same location, we're human beings not trees, there's a bigger world out there. We go were we're valued the most.

NB: If you choose to leave, I'll avoid UK if I were you.

I know Canada does not require COVID test from vaccinated travellers. However, I am leaving tomorrow and will like to know if airlines require a COVID test.

A lot of people don't know that Wike is a campaigning machine. He speaks the language that the illiterates and downtrodden understands; which are the majority. Please what's the gap in your return ticket (between departure and arrival) to be eligible for PTA. Can it be more than 2 weeks?

My Landing Gist

I got PPR on 1st of Feb and sent my passport through vfs lagos on 7th.  It took 2 months for my passport to return due to the whole Accra timelime plus my passport photo got misplaced in transit.

I had booked my flight shortly after PPR came because I thought passport will be stamped and returned in 6weeks , I had to reschedule the flight.

I booked a return ticket for 475k and later rescheduled for a fee of 44k

For those wondering why a return ticket I needed it to apply for PTA, upon return of my passport from Accra I applied for PTA and 3days to my flight 4k dollars was approved and disbursed to me at 419 per dollar. I will open my return flight and use it whenever I'm ready to visit Nigeria

I booked my flight with Ethiopia Airlines,  arrived airport by 10am on 22nd April, Nobody searched my luggage which was surprising. The immigration guys just wished me well. I went to the check in counter and did all the necessary things .

Flight was for 1:20pm but we left some minutes to 2pm. Flight to Addis Ababa was smooth, less than 2hrs layover then we proceeded to Dublin where we landed just to refuel and then final lap to Canada YYZ.

I didn't spend up to 1hr at YYZ from the point of disembarking to exit home.  Everything was straightforward and smooth, no queue at immigration,  got my luggage in time and my friend came to pick me . The ride home was less than 20mins and that was it.

Monday I went to service Canada for my SIN, opened my bank account and got my mobile number.

I'm grateful to God for the entire PR process which I started in Dec 2019 and for this new phase I have entered in Canada, grateful for the information and guidance on this platform. Special thanks to a member of this forum that assisted me when I needed to pay for my RPRF with a credit card.

I wish everyone still in this PR process all the best. May it end in Landing stories for us all.

Withdrawn? Are people actually attempting to retrieve their passports? That's just a logistical nightmare.
First mistake has already been made (Sending passports to London)
The least people can do is to actually have some PATIENCE . Withdrawing your passports is just ridiculous to say the least.
Allow the London office time, they will process them eventually.
Patience is a virtue guys and gals.

The irony is that the diesel tanker was most likely legit and going about their business while the Police officers were chasing to extort some money from them as usual. Diesel Tanker = Victim, Police Van = Armed Robbers (they did not succeed)
