As the name implies, Short term Skilled" simply means that the occupation is listed under short term which can be removed or moved out from the list anytime.

For example, some one might see an occupation listed under short term skilled prior to his/her program and after you must have finish your program or before your program runs out such occupation might be removed before you conclude your program thereby putting your PR pursuit in limbo as regard to your intended program to achieve your PR.

Most times is advice to look for occupations listed under medium and long term skilled occupation. It simple means that these occupation will take a longer time to be remove, because of the demand of such occupation.

capsule:
thanks... have looked through the list, it's actually listed in the short term skilled category, what does this implies... thank you for your anticipated response.

Supply Chain Management interms of job in OZ that I don't know much about. But you will definitely find job!..

Other faithfuls in the house that knows more about Supply Chain Management in OZ can help you dissect it.

For PR journey with the said program....... check the list of skilled occupation for the short term and medium - long term skilled occupation list.... that will guide you on your pursuit to PR....

Thanks dear, I appreciate.
I won't talk more on this, I have gotten what I wanted to know about the moniker. His/her post says it all.

ogbevireo:
please do not bother yourself about pidgin2.
she postulates the Nigeria is greater and better theory on every thread that is related to immigration on nairaland.
you can confirm my assertion.
TravelRe: Living In Australia/life As An Australian Immigrant by Albion05: 4:58pm On Feb 04, 2018
Bro I doubt you read and understood my advice to him.
Never did I ask him to return back to Nigeria.
I only asked him to pay less attention about the issue of racism and be focus in his endeavor.
Please don't quote me wrongly.
I advice, you go back and read again what I posted.
Bye!.

Pidgin2:
So after investing millions and moving his family, changing jobs and school for his kid he should just run back to Nigeria without preparing himself, what do you think his family and friends will think of him? Stop being emotional about his decision, it's not your business, he only expressed himself no need to be rude
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 1:08pm On Feb 04, 2018
The issue is that, if you really want to take full control of your application, there are no down side, demerits or adverse effect to it. So as long as you know how to go about the application process, in terms of uploading your documents, checking your mail box, updating document if the embassy request for additional document from you.

If you can operate your account smoothly, there is no problem dear.
But make sure you finalize with your agent and have conclusion wether they will continue to manage your visa application process for you or you have decided to terminate their services and know you are the one fully in charge to avoid confliction.

If the GURUS in the house knows any side effect to this, please do not hesitate to clarify this.

dapsy11:
Please I'll like to ask if there is any downside to these. Thank you so much
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 12:55pm On Feb 04, 2018
Welcome bro!..
Sometimes some of this agents don't really flow well with the applicants in terms of communications concerning their application.

However, there are other exceptional ones no doubt that have distinguished themselves when it comes to Travel agency. That's why you need to be actively involved throughout the process until your Visa is out.

Only you can tell or narrate your story/background in conjunction with their professional skills, advice and managerial ability. So be actively involve to avoid mis-presentation of some of your documents.

Goodluck bro!.

dapsy11:
Thanks so much for this, I really appreciate
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 11:22am On Feb 04, 2018
Talk to their head office and get their response.
If nothing fruitful came out of it and you are not satisfied, you can create an immi account, import your application by entering the following personal data of yours for the import of your application: Date of birth, Transaction reference number, family name and your other names, passport number and Nigeria as your country of application origination. Make sure you enter them correctly and within 1 minute you will see your application details and profile steering at you.

Then, click view details, go right at the top of your page and click "RELATED LINKS", then click Add/ Withdraw authorized recipient in other to remove your agent as the person to receive mail/Correspondence on your behalf, then add your own mail, name and address as the corrrespondence to your own application.

Make sure you use alphabet, figures, upper and Lower case letters in setting your password.
If you do this, you have total access to your application. Any time you upload document do not forget to click information provided.

dapsy11:
Good morning guys,

A friend referred me to this trend some days ago, I urgently need your advise biko.

I used an agent to apply but they have been very disappointing, been having issues ranging for poor service to delayed updated and uploaded of provided documents. It was like a tog of war before they even uploaded my visa application in December 22.

I requested for the documents that they uploaded for me after going through what most people on this platform attached some days ago and I noticed that My statement of purpose (Sop) was not attached, my sponsors statement of account was not attached too as against what they filled in the application page (see attached pic).

Prior effort to take charge of my application myself after discovering there incompetence have not been fruitful as they keep declining to give me the pass codes to my account

I am confused at this point huh, I'll appreciate your kind advise please.

Thank you
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 11:02am On Feb 04, 2018
Apply through their recognized or approved agent/representative.

It will also make the application process less stressful.
If you decide to apply on your own, it may take time for them to give you admission and even subject your application to a high level of scrutiny you won't even like.

As for the amount they charge, contact them and they will tell you.

capsule:
Guys, I tried applying to Griffith university and university of Victoria, I think it's kinda mandatory I apply through an agent. I don't know how much these agents charge, would v love to apply myself, is the a way out of this? trying to save cost, at least when necessary.
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 10:56am On Feb 04, 2018
Thank you dear, am so happy with your inputs.
You just re-echoed some silent points.
It will be resolved tomorrow and I will also forward the same to DIBP tomorrow as well, running out of time.

zeemo2007:
Your situation is a tricky one and you have to be very smart with this one.

In the past the CO sometimes raise that kind of conclusion and wait for your response if truly the bank statement is genuine.

You need more than reference letter from the bank. They are doubting an authentic document issued by a financial institution, the required response should come from the bank.

1) your dad should rake for the bank and his account officer and take copy of that letter from DIBP to the bank.

2) the bank should address the soa issued to your dad and submitted to DIBP and stating it was issued by them and they can contact them directly for independent verification.

You need more than Mr obasanjo is our customer and he maintain account with us reference letter from the bank.

Go with your dad to the account officer and they .can get this done since the document DIBP is doubting was issued by them.

All will be fine by God's grace.
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 10:12pm On Feb 03, 2018
Alright, thank you very much dear, I will.

Imagine. Endeavor to get it on Monday and upload so that you grant will be released b4 your start date. Click information provided after uploading and also email them with attention to your case officer.
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 11:07pm On Feb 02, 2018
Amen!..thanks bro!..
The bank manager of the said branch was surprise when my dad called him to tell him. It sounds so funny but is not at all.
He will get the reference letter from the bank on Monday.
In my own case I doubt the embassy did contacted the bank because if they did, they won't be saying this thing at all. Any branch they felt like contacting or writing to would have replied them.
It will all end in praise.

DidoKev:
I am with you in prayers to sort this out ASAP with the bank. You shall testify here soon IJN
TravelRe: Living In Australia/life As An Australian Immigrant by Albion05: 10:27pm On Feb 02, 2018
Bro with all this things and you are still in Australia with your family. Are you saying there is no good aspect of the said country you are talking about.

All countries in the universe have their own flaws. But you know why, you only look at the merits and de-merits or if you like the benefits of such country.
I believe that the merits of residing in Australia outways the de-merits.
Mind you, Australia began experiencing a high number of black race in their country in the last ten years and as such you don't expect the country to be populated by blacks, but gradually is happening with high influx of black race through education, business and family re-union.

Their is no country without an atom of racism. You can talk about your country, what is happening?.. is every thing alright with them.
Bro! Ignore those niggas and focus.
Even America of all country, are they free of racism?..

Be focus bro!!. Goodluck in your life endeavor.

AdeyinkaSeun:
This is just my honest opinion. You can decide to take it or leave it. I know there are people who love it the way it is but before you crucify me, remember I’m only voicing out my experience of living in Australia for the last 13 months.
Melbourne is nothing but a huge disappointment. Run down houses and streets everywhere. The culture of keeping a well kept garden is non existent. An array of ugly old bungalow interspersed with one storied semi modern houses. The cbd looks second world, the suburbs are nothing but disappointing.!

Crime is on the increase. I was personally a victim of crime twice within 6 months of arrival.
When we arrived we lodged at a bnb, in preparation for moving to the house we rented, we bought a lot of household things, vacuum cleaner, plates, towels etc. When we got home that day, we were tired to pack them out of the car so we left them in the boot of the car.
In the morning, everything had disappeared from the boot.
Last week Sunday in church, car was parked outside the church premises. We came out to find the car door open. Apparently, someone had tried to open the door to steal something from the car. The alarm was activated when I switched on the ignition.

Electricity also went off on two occasions. We slept without light on one of those days.

Racial prejudices is high here compared to most countries I have been to. A day hardly passes without racial issues been mentioned in the news. Racial tension everywhere. They still stare at black people as if one is from the moon. This is not so in the whitest of Europe. My kid is enrolled in a school where he’s the only black kid. We make a scene each time I drop him of or pick him up.
The Sudanese community isn’t making matters easy. Even though there are criminal elements amongst them, the media over reports and sensationalize crimes committed by black people. This does not help Africans as everyone is viewed as criminals and racially profiled. Let me give you two instances: I went to buy a loaf of bread one night at around 19:00 at a filling station. The attendant refused to open the door. He only opened it when another white customer guy joined me there.

Quality of life isn’t fantastic as reported in the media. Internet is as slow as snail. Australia has the slowest internet amongst the first world countries. Malls close at 5:00pm. Limited consumer choice. I couldn’t get blue shoe spray polish to buy anywhere!
Most people are renting. Buying a house will take forever as the cost of deposit is often unaffordable for most people. Most people I have met live in shared apartments. It’s really disturbing to find people, (I mean Australians);
who have been working for 15 years in Australia living in shared apartments. They cannot afford to rent a whole house talk less of buying one. Most livable city in the world? That’s laughable

I don’t want to talk about getting your first job. It’s a huge challenge.

The whole skilled immigration is a huge revenue generating business for the Australian government. You won’t realize this until you get here. The beautiful index and statistics issued by world organizations are oftentimes manipulated to their economic benefits. It is a smokescreen that keeps their tourism industry alive. These are countries that understand the importance of PR. They say beautiful things about their countries and encourage people to come and stay by reeling out doctored stats and enhanced images of their countries. It is no secret that immigration business in the so called first world countries is a multi billion dollar industry.

To all those who are planning to come here, if you have the money, do an LSD trip first and then decide if you want to stay.

Cheers guys!

I was expecting my Grant today after I called them in the morning and I was assured that my application will be finalize today and I will get my Visa notification before end of today. Seeing this mail just tire me...ooooo.
Anyway, I have contacted my sponsor who is my Father to visit the bank on Monday to get reference letter from his bank ascertaining that the said statement of account printed and issued to their customer is a genuine one with the closing balance therein.

I was given 14days to reply to this mail.

Please house, put me in your prayers.

@Didokev have said exactly my mind.

Evidence of study undertaken in Australia-----It seems you ticked the option on language proficiency that you have undertaken English language study in Australia in the last 24months. Check you application summary to confirm this. ( Quote by Didokev).

Log on to your immiaccount and click view application details to see if you thick such.

Also contact your school for possible amendment on your resumption date. I wish they can be able to get you new COE as soon as possible.
Your Grant is rest assured!..

Sincerely speaking, applicants on research program with scholarship and a well structured SOP finds Favour in the eyes of the Visa officer or Case officer.
Congratulations in advance dear!.

I was contacted some minutes ago to provide further information. On checking my mail, I saw Evidence of study undertaken in Australia. late commencement date letter from your university/institution of study. This made my eyes roll. I immediately became bad with English Language. Can someone translate this to me.

On a second thought, I remembered stating in my SOP that I am doing a research course and my resumption date is flexible.

Let me share my timeline to get insightful contribution as to what is happening here.

Medicals: 22nd November 2017
IElTS result: 8th December 2017
Visa submission: 15th December 2017
Biometrics: 18th December 2017
Resumption date:1st January 2018
Next available date:1st July 2018

My thoughts: I think my CO looked into my case and decided since I am going for a research course, if I can provide a late commencement date letter, they would grant me visa without the need for deferment.

The only wahala be say today na Friday and that's Saturday midnight in Aussie. If not I for give them the Kate commencement date letter immediately.

My Question: Has anyone been in this kind of situation before?
How feasible is it to get such letter from Macquarie University. If anyone has collected this kind of letter before. Me nor expect am oh, I don put mind for deferment. E be lyk say God dey use this guy.

I will appreciate any input, suggestions comments and way to go on thus matter. Anticipating your response e-fam

AL1 Schools still have their unseen advantage but that does not mean that they won't be required to provide their SOA.

In the past, the Case officer hardly ask for SOA from this AL1 schools but applicants abused this to a point that they started asking for it. So get your SOA ready!...

Nah something make crayfish bend.

If the Document Checklist Tool lists evidence of financial capacity as a requirement, it must be included at the time of lodgement or your visa application could be refused without requests for further information.
If you do not need to provide this evidence with your application, we have discretion to ask you for this during the application process.

chimax1:
Am just wondering what the difference between an Al1 and Al2 school is. if one is still to submitt financial evidence for both undecided
TravelRe: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Albion05: 11:33pm On Jan 28, 2018

Financial capacity requirements

You need to have enough money that is genuinely available to you, to pay for your course fees, and travel and living costs for you and your accompanying family members while you are in Australia.

You might need to provide evidence of your financial capacity with your visa application. Check the Document Checklist Tool (disclaimer) to find out the evidence you need to provide.
The Document Checklist Tool has been updated.
If you intend to lodge a student visa application on or after on 30 September 2017, you are encouraged to re-check the document checklist based on your country of passport and education provider before lodgement. Your evidence requirements may have changed.
If the Document Checklist Tool lists evidence of financial capacity as a requirement, it must be included at the time of lodgement or your visa application could be refused without requests for further information.
If you do not need to provide this evidence with your application, we have discretion to ask you for this during the application process.
If you are a secondary exchange student, provide a completed Acceptance Advice of Secondary Exchange Student (AASES) form as evidence of meeting the financial capacity requirement.
If you are sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or the Department of Defence, provide a letter of support as evidence of meeting the financial capacity requirement. You will need to provide evidence of financial capacity for accompanying family members.

Evidence of financial capacity

If you need to provide evidence of financial capacity, you will be able to demonstrate this by providing one of the following:
evidence of funds to cover travel to Australia and 12 months’ living, course and (for school aged dependants) schooling costs for the student and accompanying family members
evidence that you meet the annual income requirement
an Acceptance Advice of Secondary Exchange Students (AASES) form (secondary exchange students only)
a letter of support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or Department of Defence.
Subsequent entrants – family members who apply after the primary applicant has been granted their visa must also provide documentary evidence of financial capacity.

This must be one of the options above.
Twelve months' funds option
Annual income option
Genuine access to funds.

Twelve months' funds option

Evidence of funds can include money deposits, financial institution or government loans, scholarships or sponsorships. You can calculate the total amount of funds you will need by adding living costs, course fees, schooling costs and travel costs. Use the information below to calculate the total amount of funds you will need.

Living costs
From 1 July 2016, the 12 month living cost is:
student or guardian - AUD19,830
partner or spouse - AUD6,940
child - AUD2,970.
From 1 February 2018, the 12 month living cost is:
student or guardian - AUD20,290
partner or spouse - AUD7,100
child - AUD3,040.
Course fees
Calculate the first 12 months of your course fees or include the total cost of your course if it is for a duration of 12 months or less. Deduct any prepaid costs and provide evidence of these payments (this should be on your Confirmation of Enrolment or provide receipts).
If you are in Australia and your course has already commenced, calculate the course fee payable for the 12 month period commencing from the date on which you lodge your application.
Example 1: if your course fee is AUD50,000 for three years, determine the fee for one year (12 months) by dividing the total amount by the number of years. The amount will be AUD16,666. Deduct any pre-paid amounts.
Example 2: If your course fee is AUD15,000 for ten months, and you have already paid AUD5,000, deduct this prepaid amount from the total amount. The amount will be AUD10,000.
Example 3: if your course fee is AUD20,000 for 18 months, determine the fee for one year (12 months) by dividing the total amount by the number of months, then times by 12 (20,000 / 18 x 12). The amount will be AUD13,333. Deduct any pre-paid amounts.
Schooling costs
Where school aged children are included in your student visa application, schooling costs of at least AUD8,000 per year for each child will need to be added to the amount of funds required. You are responsible for researching schooling costs, which vary between states, territories and schools in Australia.
You do not have to provide evidence of schooling costs if you are:
a PhD student and can show you have enrolled your child in an Australian government school where the fees have been waived
received an Australian Commonwealth Government scholarship, including Foreign Affairs and Defence sponsored students, and you can show you have enrolled your child in a government school where the fees have been waived.
Travel costs
If applying outside Australia, include AUD2,000 (except if applying from East or Southern Africa, include AUD2,500; West Africa include AUD3,000).
If applying in Australia, include AUD1,000 (except if returning to Africa, include AUD1500).
https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/supporting/Pages/500/twelve-months-funds-option.aspx

Annual income option

The annual income option requires a student to provide evidence of personal annual income of at least AUD 60,000. For students accompanied by family members, the requirement is at least AUD 70,000. The income demonstrated must be the personal income of your spouse (who is not coming with you) or parents. Where both of your parents are working, their combined income can be considered for this requirement. Evidence must be in the form of official government documents such as tax assessments. Evidence in the form of bank statements or information directly from an employer is not acceptable.
https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/supporting/Pages/500/annual-income-option.aspx

Statement of account should be at least 3 months till date. You can print 4, 5 or 6 months if you had a good inflow and outflow that you wanted to be in your Favour in presenting your case.

My dear, there is no limit to funds that should be available to you, the more money your sponsor presents the more chances you are in getting your visa.

What the embassy wants to see really, is that 12 months funds that should be available to you. You will see how the summation and subtraction is done above.
Relax your mind, read and understand it very well.
