Here they go again. it's 'covid organics' now??

So what happened to your 'miracle' chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine noise being made some weeks back?

You guys just never learn. Allow the experts to validate it through rigorous and time tested techniques before you start making unfounded and potentially dangerous statements.

Neddyogu:
So in other words, a vaccine is useless. Infact there can't even be a vaccine as this virus doesn't even stimulate the immune system well enough to produce enough antibodies and it mutates too quickly. Imagine Andrew Cuomo gov of NY said the strain of the virus ravaging NY came from Europe and not China meaning we now have New COVID-20. Gawd epp us!
Vaccine is not useless. Yes it mutates, but not as fast as say HIV, so a vaccine might still help. What researchers are now working on is a bioengineered type that will have a wider coverage and perhaps last for a while before booster is required. Oxford just rolled out theirs. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Political leaders are under immense pressure to reopen their economies, one can understand and appreciate that.

But we must work with evidence. Not all viruses act the same way in the presence of antibodies.

For instance, the immunity one gets from the common cold, (which incidentally belongs to the same family as the sars covid 2) is virtually useless in preventing reinfection, ditto for HIV.

But on the other hand, the immunity from sars covid 1 (ie the variant that occurred in 2003) lasts for a few months. That of flu is about a few years.

Will this variant tow the same Line? We simply don't know YET. So we must be cautious. That's what WHO is saying.

Pls educate yourselves.

[s]The truth is that even WHO seem to be confused about this coronavirus pandemic.

They should desist from making uniformed comments about the virus but activate their research teams to embark on thorough scientific researches about the virus and its epidemiology. This would enable them come up with evidence-based information and not throw about unresearched news that would end up creating more hysteria about the virus.

I strongly believe that those who recover from the infection won't be reinfected, else, China would have had things worse than it did[/s]!

It appears a lot of people have problems with English. You guys should look up the word 'EVIDENCE'.

The body is not saying that the natural antibodies will not work, just that THERE IS INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE TO SUGGEST IT WILL.

They are just advising countries that want to introduce the so called antibody passport to exercise some caution.

Science works with EVIDENCE not imbecilic conspiracy theories.

Read beyond the lines you folks, these people are up to something

WHO said no country should close their border to China
WHO said it can’t be humanly transmitted
WHO praised China for combating the pandemic without questioning the figures
WHO deceived the world by giving China A rating
WHO wants a compulsory vaccination of everyone on earth, all thanks to Gate and his cohorts
WHO doesn’t care if the world economy collapse
Waiting for what they’ll say next month[/s]

A country battling 50k and counting deaths, yet the POTUS felt it best time to be sarcastic.

Most of Trump's dumb ignorant remarks should never be before national TV, it should be behind the scenes.

Nigeria may have many issues, but the way our daily briefing is done is more line with international best practice.

Usually the SGF will set the ball rolling by dealing with strictly administrative issues and the like. You can never see him delving into the technical matters which is handled by either Dr Ehanire or the NCDC boss. That is the way it should be.

Trump has said wrong things but in this case the media is being mischievous and they know it.

HE ASKED THE SCIENTIST IF THERE WAS A WAY TO INTRODUCE LIGHT OR DISINFECTANT INTO THE THE BODY TO KILL THE VIRUS!!!!!!!

A quite legitimate question any non-scientist would ask!![/s]

What idea has our Buhari come up with recently?

Trump, is one who just won't stand by without seeking a solution or finding a way to make things work.

I've worked with people like him and we make tremendous progress.

Politics aside, you'd like to have a Trump in your team if you're result oriented.

After Trump, American would have a painful opposite of him as POTUS, just as in Nigeria.

I'm sure of that.[/s]

Indeed.

That is why US with such a 'caring president' has 1000x more cases and fatalities than Nigeria which according to warped thinking is run by the 'ineffectual buffoon'.

He may have his shortcomings but there is something real about this man.

I fear these media sources with the way they caption reports...I watched the video clip and it was clear that he did not actually suggest this but he was only making reference to a speech in an innocuous lay man's approach and asking if there is a possible way of converting disinfectants to an injectable body-friendly form.

As funny as it may sound abeg make we no blame am cos desperate times call for desperate measures... I really feel for him.

Not easy to be the POTUS especially at this trying period.
Guy its very easy especially for a country like US. He should try to rein in his tongue and let the experts do the talking. Mike Pence should be the one on the fore front, followed by Birx and Fauci.

Haven't you seen what goes on in other countries? It's usually the experts that do most of the daily briefing. The president or head or govt shows up once in a while, and it's usually to shore up goodwill.

But in Trump's case, it's either he's touting fake and unproven remedies, openly fighting or insulting reporters for asking the tough questions, or worst still, indulging is his usual nauseating self praise for 'a job well done'
