Christianity EtcRe: Job Chapter 1 Vs 6 by AlfaSeltzer(m): 1:52am On Jun 02, 2013
sylve11: Why would God allow satan to be in His presence in the first place? R they friends? cool
God is ever present in the presence of my Master. He cannot be omnipresent if he isn't.

@op, if you read the following verses, you will hear god asking Satan where he came from. This shows that god was not omniscience as some people think.
Satan said he was going to and fro the earth and walking up and down it. This means that Satan is only on earth. He is in charge of earth. God came to earth and called a meeting with those in charge of other worlds. The meeting was on earth because earth is the only live world. He could have had the meeting somewhere else but the foolishness of Job attracted him to earth. You see, god came to Satan, not the other way round. God told Satan of the foolish man on earth and Satan made sure the man was punished for his foolishness.

Oahray: so when atheists say" there is no God", that's not a belief? What do you call it? So it's only religious peeps that have 'beliefs', right?

Please stop embarrassing yourself and your atheist folks. Holding on to straw would not make you any smarter than you are. You made a silly statement and I corrected you with an easy-to-understand illustration, and instead of accepting, you pick an issue with the 'superman' the kids in the illustration were arguing? Really?

Your intellect is truly 17 levels lower than average. Your arrogance just makes your condition worse.
I will address only the bolded.

No, it's not a belief to assert the evident. It is up to the proponent to prove his assertions. His failure to do so cannot be classified as a belief in the negative by the audience.

If you can't understand the above, try this one:

To explain it to you, if lack of belief is a belief sysytem, then lack of sex is a sexual activity. Is it?

davidylan: I was responding to alfa's claim that monkeys have a better IQ than christians. I'm surprised you didnt feel offended by that comment... rather you seem to be offended by me pointing out the falsehood in his comments.

Absurd.
I didn't say the bolded. You did. However, I would not disagree with you.

vedaxcool: lol jesoul wat comes around goes around, see how showing solidarity has brought upon ?

"l"b aren't most these guys also bannen from the muslim section including u? if two test return similar results doesn't it shows they r correct to a great extent? two moderators punish u guys for a similar offense, shows something could b more wrong wth u guys them else fate might have cursed u to be eternally a complainant.
Shows there is really no difference between the acts of muslim and christian zealots. Just that one is true to their word when they act while the other says one thing and still acts in the other manner.

But you thank some invisible force when the half chance works out positively? Hmm.
Christianity EtcBlack Christians, What Racial Image Do You See When You Imagine... by AlfaSeltzer(op): 8:17pm On Jun 01, 2013
1. God?
2. Jesus?
3. Angels?
4. Saints?

Do you tell your black children they look like angels? With white wings or black wings?

How many black people have led your church? I don't mean the building in your village. I mean the head of your church in the world.

How many black saints or angels do you know? Which founders of your church are black? Are any of the books or doctrines of your religion written by blacks?

Monkeys at least don't dimish my IQ levels when I'm near them. Unlike going to the church.

Why is it not surprising that you would class abject gibberish as strong points.
Christianity EtcRe: What Does God Do Exactly ? by AlfaSeltzer(m): 8:07pm On Jun 01, 2013
okeyxyz: SMH at this kind of intellectual laziness. This is what you get when you consume soundbites from your idols(richard dawkins, etc) without examining the soundness of it.

Just one question: Have you (or anybody at all) ever interviewed a baby to know what his believes and logics are?? And what was the outcome of this interview?? OLODO!!, ASHEWO!!-atheist
Is this a ne syndrom going around nairaland? We need a name for it.

I suggest the name: "the striktly syndrome"
Christianity EtcRe: What Does God Do Exactly ? by AlfaSeltzer(m): 8:04pm On Jun 01, 2013
Oahray: na wa o! So babies believe there is no God? An atheist is not one who is clueless. He has an opinion, that there is no God. Please do not make future statements like this. It's gibberish at best.

Lemme illustrate the crap you just spewed. Two kids are arguing about superman in a classroom very early one morning. Boy A who is closer to the door says "superman is the strongest comic character there is". Boy B says, "it's not true".

Now other kids arrive too, all of whom have never watched/read superman and so have no clue. Because Boy A is closer to the door, most of the kids listen to his argument for superman first. However, some also listen to Boy B. After some time, everyone takes sides.

Alfa had been watching and he concludes: "Every child that walked in through that door BELIEVED SUPERMAN IS NOT THE STRONGEST COMIC CHARACTER until Boy A brainwashed some of them." Intelligent?

There is a difference between an atheist who actively BELIEVES in the non-existence of God, and a baby who does not even know his mother's name, let alone have any idea about any God. Anyone who does not know this has no business being close to any argument that requires any level of intellect above zero.
LOL.
I don't even know where to begin with you. I will need to lower my intellect 17 levels so I can discuss with you. That's the problem with talking with christians.
First, there's is no such thing as "an atheist who actively BELIEVES in the non-existence of God". Atheists don't believe. We are not deluded.
Let's go to your analogy. Alfa would conclude that "Until the Superman zealot brought up the subject, those children had absolutely no idea of what or who Superman was. They were born Superman-belief free until a zealot came around."
Very telling that you have to use the image of a ficticious comic character to illustrate your god and theist beliefs. It is understandable that children are impressionable and believe all kinds of fairy tales. It becomes worrying when those beliefs continue into adulthood.

In that case, you let the public form its opinion of you. And right now, I don't think it is one that reflects the image you want to project.
PoliticsRe: Untold Stories Of Biafran Inventions by AlfaSeltzer(m): 11:12am On May 31, 2013

This Invader was essentially a civilian machine and, to facilitate its export from Europe, it was described as a survey aircraft destined for an organisation in Gabon and carried no offensive armament. As a result of its previous missions it had an unusually shaped "solid" nose. It was ferried in its original bare metal colour scheme but was quickly camouflaged in Biafra with a two tone green/brown scheme on the upper surfaces and pale blue undersides with a distinctive sharkmouth and glaring eye, a scheme which found much favour with the enthusiastic Biafrans. The rudder was painted in the three national colours, black, green and red with a Biafran rising sun insignia superimposed on the middle section.

The electrical bomb release mechanisms were still in place but were designed to function with conventional bombs of a certain configuration and weight. The Biafran bombs were makeshift affairs often fashioned from oil drums and gas cylinders so were in no way compatible with the relatively sophisticated systems in the Invader. Zumbach, who by this time was calling himself “Johnny or Kamikaze Brown” had no choice but to instruct his "bombardiers" to throw them out the opened bomb bay.

The bombs were made by a Biafran artificer, Willy Achukwe, whose former trade, it was rumoured, lay in the manufacture of fireworks! Willy's bombs were marvels of ingenuity and even included delayed action devices. Zumbach describes one creation having "a base containing phosphorus suspended in an insulating liquid. A Bickford fuse ran from this compartment through a partition plugged with wax, into a second stage. This compartment contained gunpowder. The third was crammed with scrap metal. Two big nails protruded from the base of the thing. The impact of landing drives the nails into the base of the bomb and pierces the first compartment. The insulating liquid runs out of the resulting punctures and the air gets in. It sets the phosphorus alight, the heat melts the wax and the Bickford fuse detonates the gunpowder."

It goes without saying that no machine guns suitable for aircraft mounting were available in Biafra. However, the Biafrans were masters of improvisation and, following a visit to the government armoury from which he was invited to take his pick of the available equipment, Zumbach returned to the airfield with two antiquated army issue Czech made machine guns. Biafran mechanics soon had the first one mounted in the nose of the Invader with the barrel protruding from the nose. The hapless forward gunner was obliged to crouch in the dim recesses of the nose cone, without any view of the outside world and without any voice communication with his pilot. Again, Biafran ingenuity came to the rescue. A length of cord was attached to the gunner's arm with the other end threaded through to the pilot's station. Zumbach, equipped with a simple home made gunsight, simply tugged once on the cord to instruct the gunner to start firing and twice when he was to stop. A simple solution! The second one was rigged to fire through the open bomb bay.

The 10th July saw Zumbach and his Biafran crew heading north for Makurdi, a supply centre for the Nigerian army some 125 miles north of Enugu. They had been alerted by listening to radio transmissions from Nigerian aircraft that a number of freight aircraft were inbound for Makurdi. The crew consisted of a co-pilot/radio operator, Godwin Ezeilo, a navigator/forward gunner "Freddy", a rear gunner above the bomb doors and two "bombardiers". Approaching the target, Zumbach had Ezeilo call Makurdi airport to ask for landing instructions to give the impression that they were a routine Nigerian flight. The ploy worked and ensured that the Nigerian AA batteries remained quiet.

But Lot committed incest, so I don't know if he should be their shinning light. Anyway, you never know with these christians. They worship a mass murderer afterall.

And France, And the great State of California, New York, Infact, all blue states.

And UK.

And Brazil,

And South Africa.

And...

Infact we should show our love of god by boycotting progressive gay countries and only going to and doing business with the backward godly countries, like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Uganda, Etc.

Mehn!! your arguments keep getting worse and worse..., See: I was born a catholic but I chose to leave the catholic doctrine when it stopped making sense to me. A lot of adults who were born christians have chosen to remain christians. A lot of atheist today were born christians but chose to leave and become atheists.

But for You, an adult(I assume), to still attribute(or blame) your atheism to your parents is just pitiful(so when things go wrong: blame mommy and daddy grin grin ). I thought you were a man of reason and self determination. I'm just gonna close this exchange with you right now because you are still locked in a child's mentality.
Once again, the christian mentality shows again its full incapacity to reason.

Everybody is born an atheist until some deluded religious zealot starts indoctrinating them. For most people, this indoctrination happens so early in their life that they grow up with the delusion that they were born with those beliefs already inside them. You are part of this category.

Quite unfortunate that what happened took place in the country, but the truth is that so many of our leaders, whom we could have called statesmen, are looters only concerned with their own welfare and not the welfare of the citizenry.
At this point in our nation, we need visioneers; from southeast to southwest. People that will take the course of their respective nations and charter it towards a greater height.

Igbo Kwenu!!!
God bless the Igbo nation,
God bless the Nigeria.

why has dayokanu's post not been hidden? It broke at least 8 nairaland rules and didn't even address the subject. I particularly find it offensive that he gloats all over the place about his kinsman that murdered defenseless igbo civilians but when we point out his kinsman that murdered a british soldier, our posts get hidden.

Too late. The world has gone far too gay for Nigeria to do anything about it. Wait till they start giving state banquet and reception to foreign gay presidents and dignitaries. Na so arab people misbehave with anti-women law and US sent them a female secretary of state, Madeleine Albright. See their people they look them for TV dey bow for Madeleine, dey throw red carpet for her, dey salute her.

okeyxyz: OMG!!! You just keep going in circles...
I assume you at least went to some college or post-secondary school, No?? If you don't know the answer to a matter then there must be a basis for you arriving at that conclusion that you don't know. Or do you just assume that you don't knowhuh Then the basis of reaching your conclusion is your opinion. Every sentient being has opinions(whether right or wrong) and they act according to it, Just as you choose to be an atheist has a reason...
Let me deal with your last sentence as the previous ones make no sense.

I did not choose to be an atheist. I was born an atheist.
