madridguy: Recruit more then. They might not really need more men to man those troubled areas properly in a modern times where a single farmer in a remote county can monitor several hundreds of hectare/plantation using surveillance drone technology (not attack drones)from a small cubicle in a room. Using this technique, the military can spot potential troubled and check it by drafting immediate military or security reinforcement. Nigerian government/military should think outside the box... pay premium on human lives...and stop all these laughable excuses. |

Fanatism as well as poverty of the mind are known with folks who associate everything to religion be it Muslim or Christian. A Fashola and an Amosun who are married to Christians are very much relevant politically. |
Politics › Re: Make Fridays Work-free, Allow Hijabs – Muslims List 6 Restructuring Demands by Alfranco(m): 9:06am On Oct 11, 2017 |
IditaBoy: Islam started about 1500 years back with Muhammed. Excavated artefacts and human remains put Yoruba group and Yoruba religion at a much earlier date.
Asides that, Islam got into Yoruba land around 15th/16th century through Oyo and/or Iwo but on a very low scale until around 18th and 19th century when people began adopting Islamic names in Oyo provinces NOat because they wanted Islam but because they needed to prevent Ilorin war boys who attacked only non-muslims from pillaging their properties and taking their wives and kids. As a result, most offsprings not knowing how their names came about adopted the religion from where their names came.
Researched facts through several studies in History, Ethnigraphy & Archeology established that Yoruba civilisation and Yoruba religion/institutions had long existed in a very well fashioned and intelligently complex manner before Islam touched Yoruba land.
Please focus on selling and defending your Islam. Do not slip in and twist Yoruba history while defending your religion. I’m sure Allah & Muhammed (SAW) both frown at lies and falsehood. If you have to speak on Yoruba history, put the Quran down & read properly researched texts instead.
I shake my head over how religions created by fellow men have become a strong identity for people. God bless your likes. You aren't like the ignorant bigoted lots around. |

dakeskese: These fulani guys are everywhere. The herdsmen in other civilised societies hardly have issues. The ones in UK, France... they ar nt animalistic in nature.
SO BAD!
This leaves me with two conclusions: 1) Religion is a problem here. A certain religion preaches war. 2) Illiteracy is a factor as to be uncivilised is d same thing as to be barbaric. Another is the usual narrative that Nigerians have the right to reside anywhere in the country....those with this take should explain if cows of herdsmen equally have the right with their human herders without restrictions on another's region, land or property. Open grazing is strictly primitive. A way of life herdsmen cannot afford to practice in modern times in another man's territory in the name of Nigerians have the right to live anywhere.... |

1.That Igbo(s) can do anything for money, are chest beaters and criminalistic-Every tribe has its own greedy people and criminals and every tribe chestbeat about one thing or the other.
2.That fulanis are born to rule
3.That yorubas are coward, hypocritical and betrayal-majority of Nigerian human right activities are yoruba.Yorubas actually stopped the fulanis from advancing to the south at Odo-otin courtesy of Ibadan worriors.Do you know why Adekunle fajuyi has to die with Agui ironsi. On betrayal, yoruba never had any convenant with anybody.
4.That the first coup is Igbo coup.
5.That the norths are babaric especially the fulanis
6.That there is one islamization Agenda somewhere.
All the aboves are lies that no matter how hard you try to convince some people, they will still hold the belief may be out of bigotry. Stop terming your nation a mere tribe. |

We want Referendum Referendum Referendum Referendum Referendum Referendum Referendum not War
Haven said that we have right to self defense in case anyone thinks we're cowards.. I agree with you. No one is calling for war. The agitators are rightly calling for one or more of the following: equity in national issues, country's resturing, true federalism, resource control, cessation, regionalism, etc., without arms to harm anyone. These are what some termed war mongering under the guise of retaining the country's sick status quo in the favour. |
Politics › Re: Anyone Who Thinks Nigeria Can Stick Together Is A Fool - Falae. by Alfranco(m): 7:19pm On Jun 25, 2017 |
SirWere: The headline is misleading. Falae only reiterated what most Yoruba elders has been agitating for for a while now : Regionalism.
It takes no seer to see that a regional Nigeria will end claims of marginalization and finally silence the calls for secession
Before Gaddafi sef, the macphersion constitution in 1951 stated that
The General Conference was of the view that over-centralisation would be a grave error "in this vast country with its widely differing conditions and needs", and that the policy which had received enthusiastic support throughout the country was the policy of achieving unity at the Centre through strength in the Regions. It was confidently expected that when the Regions felt that they had wide powers to run their own regional affairs, they would be more likely ready to co-operate with the other Regions through their representatives in the Council of Ministers and the House of Representatives in serving the interest of Nigeria as a whole".
Amazing how they were able to predict what would happen.
Ironic how they weren't listened to.
However, to be fair, we all know who abolished regionalism FACT. |

please don't quote me again read the thread, or ask the person that posted it Students do a subject and don't offer it. However, the rationale for our curriculum to offer Arabic language for student isn't all bad except that it is the language of most Islamic countries and Nigeria being a religious country with two major religions of Christianity and Islam, adherents of the former might rightly kick that Hebrew, for instance, isn't included to balance the 'equation'. But we are surrounded by Francophone countries. French should have been left as the only option for equity. Just my opinion. |

Are other Nigerians of different ethnic nationalities disrupting others in like manner as they go about their livelihoods? How can agrarians cohabit with herdsmen who would not ranch his cattle or embrace modern animal husbandry? Why would Nigerians not agitate for restructuring or outright cessation in this scenarios? What has the federal government done against open grazing with all or are they in support? Hmmmnnn, so many questions...... |

They have the highest and most efficient human resources. The region has the strongest economy in Nigeria. It has the most functional educational system. It is more united than other regions. Well he was only right about one thing, about his opinion on the Hausas/Fulani, those people are leaches, they have absolutely nothing to offer, they are as dumb as a day old doughnut. Since they don't value their lives, they are ready to kill themselves along with others so they can get what they want, that is why the rest of Nigeria is afraid of them. I think the Yorubas and the Igbos will do well independently, if Nigeria splits, I also think that Niger delta will also do well, we should stop fighting ourselves and let the West, The South and The eastern region come together to make an agreement and split out of this curse called Nigeria. I think we will do more better. It is always laughable to often hear some so called elder statesmen say the ethnic nationalities in the country cannot stand separately. Same goes for those with juicy political posts or are nursing political ambitions harping the shared baseless sentiments. Some will even say God have a hand in Nigeria's creation by 'Pastor Lugard'. Well, God cannot support a Tower of Babel that best describe Nigeria formed without recourse to Social Contract. NEVER!!! That no region can stand alone and prosper is a big fat LIE that nauseates. |

Why should Hausa always cause problem with their religion anywhere they are Partly because most of them can't tell the difference between their God given culture and foreign religion they have replaced for everything: tradition, religion, politics, etc. Compare them to our peaceful SW Muslims who still have sense of their culture and know that religion has it's place. While they are Yorubas first...they accepted the 'peaceful religion' with common sense...they share no restive tendencies like folks in middleeast countries with religious tensions. |
