Religion / Re: Tithes And Offerings: So Important In Nigerian Churches by alheri(f): 10:08am On May 23, 2006
Of because ono! No wahala. We cool!
And thanks for your contribution on this topic. I also believe that as long as the church-any church- does not force their members to pay tithes or even  go to their offices on pay days to collect their 10%, whats the hullabbaloo all about? I'm really not concerned whether they keep it EXCLUSIVELY for the pastors or give it to the poor, orphans and widows, I just pay my tithes! I reach out to the less priviledged in my own little way, I don't have to wait for the church to get my tithes to the poor to touch/reach out to them. I do that on my own, in my own little way. I have brought my tithes to church because I believe thats where I should bring them, if the church now decides to use it to organise a beach party at alpha beach, GOD WILL JUDGE THEM!, not me!
Religion / Re: Tithes And Offerings: So Important In Nigerian Churches by alheri(f): 9:41am On May 22, 2006
@mlk_baby.Thats because you've only read a very minute portion of the article, what the Admin wants you to see. Why not ask him to post the entire "fundamental beliefs" for you to scrutinize?
I wander what this thread is all about, we all know that in most pentecostal churches members are strongly advised to pay tithes. I beleive their is another thread where people have explicitly argued out/discussed this very point on this same religion section, so I wander why Mr. Admin, seun is creating another thread for it when he could have just gone to that thread to post these new "eye opening" revelations he has just discovered.

If someone else had done this, it would have been an issue of duplicating a topic and the penalty will follow, , anyway, back to the topic:

I attend one of the parishes of RCCG and I pay my tithes monthly and as often as I can because I am convinced that it is biblical. What the church does with the tithes doesnt really bother me because I have played my part, I've brought my tithes and offerings into the Lord's storehouse and God provides/blesses me immensely for that. So what the church does with it is now left to them and for God to judge accordingly!

@ono, how I go forget you my brother? Am doing okay, just been outta town and a little busy lately. You were only try to back up your opinions which you've got a right to.

@Afeni, sorry to say but what a dumb statement that was or should I say equation, SUBMMISION=GETTING HIT? OMG, LOL, you make yourself sound so ST*P*D!
Family / Re: Should Wives Submit To Their Husbands? by alheri(f): 11:33am On May 18, 2006
Marriage is no game. I am submissive but definately not a manipulator Expert or amatuer, submission can
not be equalled to manipulation. Well, let me as least speak for my self. I cannot even manipulate my husband because he's not weak and he's definately not a fool. I profit from submission, yes, but not for manipulation. But as a sign of love and respect for my husband and in obedience to my God and that is right!.

Only men who misunderstand what it the concept means try to misuse it to maltreat their wives. Sincere, kindhearted women will reap what the sow, by the grace of God find good husbands who wont suppress them.
Crime / Re: African China Arrested For Rape In London? by alheri(f): 8:40am On May 18, 2006
@idekeson,loverbwoy & Badman888. Yes am very serious about what I said. Lets stop pretending because we aint kids hear. If I plan to get drunk at a party, I'd make arrangements on how to get home. I wouldnt follow a guy to his hotel room(not even his house oh) when am drunk at the dead of the night and be expecting we'd be having a prayer meeting in his room. Am not saying all guys would want to have sex in the situation like that, but the average club hopper and most celebrity are always out to have a good time.

None of you has asked if this lady just met Chinagorom at the party or if they've been friends before then. If its the former, why should a lady folow a guy she has never met before to his hotel room drunk at that time of the night if shes not looking for trouble? And in the case of the latter, Its probably something they've done before and shes probably feeling bad about something this time around or he didnt pay the usual/agreed amount. It all goes two ways.

I've heard of cases like that and most times the girls are just suffering from a bout of guilt and shame in the morning. Have you guys wandered how come she only called the police in the morning? Was it because she woke and realised what she had done with the celebrity and felt ashamed and so decided to call the police and claim rape ?Did it occur to you guys, that though she was drunk she fully participated in the sex/watever and even enjoyed herself? And just because in the MORNING she realised she wasnt feeling comfortable she can decide to shout rape? It has not been said anywhere that he forced her to drink or that he got her drunk. They were at a party and were both drinking like mature adults with choices.

Like I said, am a woman and I think rape is one of the worst crimes against womanhood but I believe some situations can be avoided. Thanks and of because thats just  my opinion!
Family / Re: Should Wives Submit To Their Husbands? by alheri(f): 11:04am On May 17, 2006
Ive got no problem with submission, my husband and I understand that submission doesnt mean slavery. I believe a woman can get her husband to do whatever she likes when shes submissive. Its a concept that has been thoroughly misrepresented. Mostly cos some men take advantage of the situation and then the women feel they have to react to defend thier dignity.
Crime / Re: African China Arrested For Rape In London? by alheri(f): 10:57am On May 17, 2006
Its a pity the law supports such nonsence. Am a woman and if I decide to get drunk and follow a man to his room that late, then am ready for action! Imagine, it was in the morning she even called the police, whats the guarantee she didnt plan it all along. As long as he didnt force her to drink and later to his room, then she deserved what she got. Am sorry if am sounding rude but why else would a grown up woman get drunk and follow a man to his room if not for some sex? The story is quite vague for now, guess time will reveal the real story.

You're welcomed slimnike, it was actually a pleasure!

For those shouting 419/rigging cos Joe is out, I dont blame you. How come you guys never complained when people were voting out Joe as JOE(cos thats what he's called), only to be told far into the week that only votes with JOSEPH will be counted? That means the votes that voted out Ebuka were rigged as well and if thats the case, then we're all even. You guys are just sour loosers!
TV/Movies / Re: Big Brother Nigeria by alheri(f): 9:33am On May 15, 2006
Krysty and Modups, OK whatever you say but dont say I didnt tell you when everything blows up!

Am just so glad JOE-BOY is out and right now I feel so good, and since I want the feeling to last, am pullling out the white flag and apologising for all my comments that made you guys upset. I even agree that am seuns wife! grin
TV/Movies / Re: Big Brother Nigeria by alheri(f): 9:26am On May 12, 2006
@seun, na wa oh! was I drugged when we got married? cheesy. And what exactly did I do/say that required an apology?

@beyunce, am not a katung fan, but i still want him in the house.

Katung is far more brilliant than that Joe-boy, even Lagbaja had to recognise when he was in the house yesterday night. After the presentation of songs by the housemates and with only 3 awards to be given out, Katung still got an award. Francisca and Frank also got awards. Lagbaja was sooo tripped with Francisca's voice and was even talking about a colabo! Franca is a winner all the way.

Right now I really don't care who wins the money because that doesnt determine who will be the most successful. Look at BBA, Gaetano wasnt even last 5 but he's the most successful as far as am concerned. At least I see him on my screen every week. But look at cherise who won the money, I wander whats up with her.

But all I know is that Mr. Joe-boy aint taking that money!
TV/Movies / Re: Big Brother Nigeria by alheri(f): 11:07am On May 11, 2006
Krysty, I never knew you were the appointed advocate for Sandy. Ha hA you make me laff! Anyways, I reserve the right to call her whatever I feel like cos I pay 9k every month to watch BBN and since its my money I can call anyone I choose stupid if they look and act stupid TO ME in my T.V. So you just take that chill pill in front of you and chill,ok. It doesnt take a palm reader or whatever to know sandy is stupid. Only a stupid 29 yr old would allow herself to be manipulated the way she allowed 23 yr old helen to manipulate her and lets not even go into the silly lyrics she used when toasting that gay Joe.

I dont have to be gay to recognise one but thats your opinion and that also makes you one considering your statement! Joe is gay, like it or not. I know what am talking about, your arguments wont change that fact.

Now its thank God maureen left him. Wasnt it because you guys were so pissed he got dumped by maureen that you started your JFC? Now its maureen has bad luck? Sorry oh, but the fact still remains Maureens got a real straight hunk of a guy now! Am sure even you KRYSTY is drooling over Gideon. Just cos they're out of the house doesnt make them out of the picture, madam!

JFC is sooo confused! They're not even sure who they want out. Anyway, like it or not, JOE is out this sunday. Though am not a Katung fan, I can stand him some more on the show.

And to the person that asked, just cos sandra was toasting joe doesnt mean nothing! Why do you think she waited till now? She probably figures/thinks audiences would keep her in to see what happens, if anything will come out of it. Its just a strategy she thinks would work.Besides, for a dumb girl like sandra to like some1 like joe is not surprising to me. She's so stupid she cant even figure out he's gay. Thank God Maureen ran for her life!

JOE IS SOOOO OUT!
TV/Movies / Re: Big Brother Nigeria by alheri(f): 10:12am On May 09, 2006
OMG, am sooo excited! Finally, a chance to vote out that boring JOE! Am calling on all Fan clubs to vote out that boring joe from the house. He serves no purpose and must not win that money!
Religion / Re: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by alheri(f): 10:54am On May 03, 2006
Yes, I get your drift goodguy. I've never had a problem with you and hope I never do cos I like your person. I understand about bad eggs in almost every basket, but what is the cele church doing to stop such "bad" and "evil" parishes? "People" or "me" are not striving hard to drive cele to nothingness like you said . You see, like in the example you gave above about the guy whose parish was not of God, what did your parish shepherd-in-charge do about it? Did he report to the G.O or something? Was that church/parish stopped from misleading other people and spoiling the name of cele or Is it still flourishing in evil deeds and misleading people? I've never read or heard of celes taking steps against such parishes that are running against Bibllical principles, correct me if am wrong.
I just feel that maybe the church is not doing enough to stop those "bad" parishes from expanding, etc and that is why people have more bad and negative experiences. .
Religion / Re: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by alheri(f): 10:01am On May 02, 2006
Competition? Not for me it isnt. It was you who started comparing and talking about other pastors and men of God. You specifically mentioned Pastors "Adeboye, Chris Oyakhilome and other men of God" , you're the one making this a competition. I only refered to my place of worship because you said something about I wouldnt mention it if it happened in my church.

Also, I've come about the Pastor Adeboye Plane crash thread before and I really dont see how that relates to this. The thread is about a specific prophesy made by Pastor Adeboye not about the RCCG, because some people cant comprehend the magnitude of that prophecy is just too unfortunate. People can share their opinions and say whatever the want to say about that prophesy, but it still doesnt change the fact that Pastor Adeboye is a righteous Servant of the Most High. Jesus knows his own and they form his body, regardless of what earthly church the belong.
TV/Movies / Re: Big Brother Nigeria by alheri(f): 9:03am On Apr 27, 2006
JFC is really dreaming! You guys actually beleive you define eviction, don't you? You just make me laugh. Imagine the imagination. Well, I guess we'll just wait and see on sunday now, wont we. You guys should better start hunting for a bigger space than the VAULT for Joe's eviction party next Friday because believe me he's out on sunday. You guys must be delirious to think you can vote out Ebuka. Ebukas fan base far out weighs anything you guys can comprehend, we just dont go making noise like you gay- supporting JFC's.

phrase from goodguy's post addressed to me"Obviously, your posts have proven that you have personal issues against Cele." You can keep insisting, I really don't care. Go back and read my very first post and you'll see what I really think about cele,NOTHING!. My second post was an after thot I remembered and decided to share since the thread said experiences and opinions. I was only sharing a friend's experience! You guys now started to attack my post, prooving alot about yourselves in the process. The thread says and I repeat, experiences and opinions! Let us share our experiences in peace please! Obviously most of the opinions and experiences are negative ones. People are posting from across the globe, not just in Nigeria and they're all saying the same thing,NEGATIVE!.

Obviously, theres a problem somewhere. So stop picking on me and go find a way to promote your church positively.

Also, I actually attend RCCG,COD parish and I know some people might have bad opinions and experiences about the church, including People in and people out. Why shouldnt they be free to share? You can start a thread on that if you like. Believe me, the positive will outweigh the negative.

@mycutiepie

yes, i know what he went there to do, he went to get an education and wasnt engaged in any form of illegalities. He went to play Basket ball once and forgot his bag at the gym, on his way home, he was accousted by security operatives who wouldnt listen when he told them he forgot his bag which contained his papers and ID's at the gym. Anyway, its a pity if thats all youre looking at, my main point was the beatings he went through. The people(celes) that prayed for him prophesied that he would travel and it shall be well with him cos of their prayers and beatings and deliverance, that nothing could go wrong with him. If they can really forsee the future, how come they didnt forsee he would be deported less than a year later? Would you now blame the guy for spreading bad propaganda about cele cause of his experience?

And mr. GREED, you seem to be blessing your fellow celes on the forum alot, are you one of the prophets of cele? grin Could you maybe prophesy when this thread would come to an end? And pls,I mean that as a joke, let nobody try to chuck me knife! cheesy

OK guys, its either Ify or Maureen. Who do you want out?
Religion / Re: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by alheri(f): 10:32am On Apr 11, 2006
@goodguy, you seem to have gotten my post very very wrongly.I dont really have any position on this cele issue, I was only sharing a friend's experience and thats what almost everyone is doing.
I believe I also have the right to mention the former AGF, because bad egg or not, he is in a position of leadership in your church, thus my(and others I know) experiences with him will definately affect my view of your church. You can go look for anyone who was in the AGF's office while he was there and ask them thier opinions of him.Apart from bringing out his BIG BLACK BIBLE to conduct a prayer meeting every morning, what does his life and relationship with people around him say about our savior Christ? I didnt have to mention the AGF to make a case here cos some people's personal experiences on this thread are enough. If my pastor or deacon drinks and womanises, everyone has the right to use their attitudes to judge the church and congregation as a whole.

Like I keep saying on and on and again, I am not saying celes are bad/evil people, all am saying is allow people to share thier experiences.if there arent many people who go to cele on NL to share there "good" experiences, then allow those with the bad ones to share thiers.

I really dont care, cause church doesnt determine salvation.
Religion / Re: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by alheri(f): 3:59pm On Apr 10, 2006
Oh no, doshbass, I dont feel attacked at all. And, pls why does my comment disappear before I post it? Anyway, back to the topic. Like me,people's experiences and opinions are based on thier relations with the church directly or people who attend the church. Fine, some people might be giving the church a bad name, which happend not only in cele, but most of the opinions here are negative ones. Take goodguy for example, I've related to him for some time now on NL, and I've always thought of him as a nice guy. Knowing he goes to cele now is making me experience some feelings of reservation towards him. Not because of him personally but because of the general idea I have about cele and from my experiences with people from cele.

Also, I mentioned the former AGF because I've met him a couple of times and I also know he goes to cele and is in a position of leadership in the church. So my opinions of the him as a person, having in mind his position in the cele church will affect my opinions of the church and people in general, get my drift? I wasnt trying to start any thing, I just wanted to share my friend's experience.
Religion / Re: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by alheri(f): 3:17pm On Apr 10, 2006
@doshbass.what are talking about? This guy was beaten up, according to them, to beat out the evil vibes and bad spirits from out of him that are making him have bad luck. He still has scars from the beatings. These are people who claim to see the future, couldnt they have forseen he was gonna be deported? And since they are such prayer warriors, couldnt have suggested one of thier rituals to prevent him from been deported? I am just sharing someones experience which I happen to know about, and thats what most people in this forum are doing. From all the posts, thier are more bad than good experiences. What does that tell you?

I am sorry to have to add this, but the former accountant general of the federation goes to cele. Am sure you know who am talking about, cos he's on the cele board of trustees. But he is the stingiest(hope am right with the spelling), meanest man I've ever come across. He practically has got no human sympathy. And there is this aura about him thats just not right. People are just expressing thier opinions about cele, same as you. What you say here wouldnt hold water cause people are also taliking from experience and most of them are bad ones. Look at someone like 4real, who lost his wife and kid to teachings that arent biblical. Let people vent out thier frustrations pls.
Religion / Re: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by alheri(f): 1:14pm On Apr 10, 2006
Someone I know wanted to travel out sometime and was refused visa. He appealed and went to cele for prayers before he went for his interview. Anyway, after been whipped and beaten by like six people, burning all sorts of candles and doing all knids of ritualistic stuff, he went for the interview and guess what? He was granted the visa! And before you say halleluyah, He was deported 3 weeks later.
