Phones / Re: Answering Mobile Phones? by alheri(f): 6:41pm On Mar 07, 2006
Its no big deal. If he's nearby, yes take it to him. But I dont expect my husband to start bringing the phone to me ringing all the way, to the back yard when am doing laundry or something just cause he respects my privacy and doesnt want to answer my phone for me! Even if its to say hold on or shes not available. Why should he let my phone ring off if he can answer it? My God, this is your huband or wife for christ's sakes!
Family / Re: "Do Not Speak Indigenous Languages To My Child": How Right Are Such Parents? by alheri(f): 1:20pm On Mar 07, 2006
Well, I for one speak my native language to my kids. Its the little I can give to them and make sure that in this "global village" world, they dont get lost wandering where they originated from.
One thing I dont allow though is anyone speaking to them in pidgin english. That I will not allow,at least not at this tender age(4 and 1).

Udaiyah, please try to proof read your posts before posting cause you always end up saying nothing.
Family / Re: My Friend's Fiancee Is Pregnant For His Father! by alheri(f): 9:47am On Mar 02, 2006
@JosBoy. Well honestly I dont know what should happen in this kind of situation. We as human should try to distinguish ourselves from dogs. Its a dog that goes and gets his mama and sister and daughter and son's girlfriend pregnant. I dont know how to talk to a dog or how to advise them for that matter. Am sorry, but I hope am not offending anyone. Thats just my take on this issue.

Ive heard all that before but thanks for taking out time to make the explanations anyway. My purpose for asking the question has been achieved and I dont feel the need to continue on that issue cause thats not what the topic is all about. CIAO
Nairaland / General / Re: Yewande - From England. by alheri(f): 3:36pm On Mar 01, 2006
dont worry about the corrupt government and the fighting, it wont affect your visit. Just amke sure you dont go to maiduguri, onitsha or any of those states rioting. You can come to Lagos. Its more peaceful, though you have to be careful with the area boys. wink
We Nigerians are known to experts in the suffering and smiling business. So you'll have fun when you come.
Also, since youre not Nigerian, it wont really be held against you if you dont do the postrating thingy. Just feel free and enjoy yourself when you get here. ciao

NYSC / Re: Corpers' Lodge: Ask Questions & Share Your NYSC Experience by alheri(f): 12:21pm On Mar 01, 2006
thats a nice picture, dargly.

Anyway, I served in 2001. I had the connections "as someone earlier put it" and so I worked my posting to Abuja since that was were I lived with my family. I was also able to work my posting to Fed. Min. Of Women affairs cause I was pregnant during service and wanted a place I would be comfortable. Anyway, I was posted to the child development depertmanet and further to their work place Nursery and creche' behind the police head qtrs in Abuja. I had a very nice time there and I also learnt alot in that day care. I learnt alot about kids and that has helped in shaping me to be the kind of mother I am now. I never really liked kids while growing up, I was kinda spoilt so kids were like competition to me. But going and working in that place opened my eyes to alot of things about children and child handling. I learnt so much about kids, there temperaments, eating habits, learning abilities, thier differences and so much more. I thot it would be a good place to laze and sloth during my service year cause I didnt want stress but am a better person from the experiences I got from that place. When my son came, I could take him to work with me and it was soo nice spending all that time with him.

I know alot of people who had a hard time during thier service year and I feel for them. I thank God mine was not so bad and the experiences from that time has helped till date. It was not a waste of a year for me, it was a very good year for me.

I was too scared to watch the video clip 2cantango. I get really emotinal sometimes and I know watching might make me unable to sleep for sometime.
Hello Gotutripin, I dont think it was softees intention to make you feel bad. I think he did well sharing the info and pics with us all. I now have an entirely different view about all this. If you read my earlier posts, you'll see that I have even gone with a friend when she went to get an abortion, though I wouldnt do it, I wasnt entirely agaisnt it. I never knew it was so gory. Since youve made your decision to go ahead with it, may God see you through and I hope you come out of this unharmed.
Anyway, now youve learnt alot from this experience and I know you'll make better choices next time. Do take care of yourself and God bless.
Romance / Re: Should I Tell His Wife That He Is Having An Affair With Me? by alheri(f): 12:03pm On Feb 27, 2006
teju, even if she tells the wife and the wife leaves him, he will never even marry her.
Look ilovepda, that man is just playing games with you. He will never leave his wife for you. If you dare try teling his wife, he will just deny you and claim youre chasing him or something. The way he sounds, he still loves his wife and cant live without her. He's just experimenting with you cause he's in a school environment. Just try to concentrate on acquiring whatever cert. you are currently pursuing and get away from that man, never look back and your own man will surely come. Men can be crafty, its a pity you fell in love with him, but fall out of it fast. Face your studies and dont dom that MouthAction thingy with him again. Its not worth it.
Sorry if I was too harsh.

Music/Radio / Re: Islamic Musician Needs Producer, Promoter, And Sponsor For New Album by alheri(f): 4:18pm On Feb 24, 2006
rikkyjen, calm down already. LOL, anyway, I dont think he can be classified as a gospel musician cause hes music isnt christian and gospel is a word of christian origin.
anyway alfa, I think you might spoil your chances of been an Islamic/Muslim musician if you sing for this guy. If anything bad comes up about him, your own intergrity will be put on the line also.
