well "My people" the Anioma(Igbos), are in the Niger Delta. "My people" are in Rivers(Igbos). I take offense when another ethnic group is trying to lord over "my people", Igbos in ND, which later on, as proved by recent actions of Ijo, will claim our land as theirs. Btw, stop being a hypocrite.
Kedu!!
Chyz and other Igbo brothers, I think that we Igbo must learn to live with the fact that Ijaw is our IMMEDIATE neighbor, no matter how annoying they sound sometimes. If there is a war in Nigeria tomorrow (which I believe is inevitable anyway), we will need them, and they would need us. THAT IS A BOLD FACT.
Nuff said.
phreakabit: I didn't want to do this but dude shut your ignorant and insolent mouth! They are actually doing you a favor. I don't know why the SE is yet to take this move. I am sure they are acting on intelligence report. I mean think about it, Boko Haram is made up of Abokis. The more Abokis you have in your state, the more likely it is that Boko Haram will creep in under the disguise of "innocent" traders and strike pretty soon. You talk about war? I dont mean to be a prophet of doom but mark my words, with the way the country is going the war is very very inevitable ( Only God knows if we will make it to 2015). I don't care what transpires between SS militants and the North, but if I were you I will do like the Yorubas do and stay out of Issues that don't concern me. BTW Igbos have not had the best of relationships with the SS but THE ABOKIS AND THE IGBOS CAN / WILL NEVER BE FRIENDS! Based on my comments you can guess where I stand.
SECURITY WISE IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE AT PEACE WITH YOUR IMMEDIATE NEIGHBOUR.
Both if ur replies showed upmost inferiority complex
Why can people post on issues
Or are igbos not look part of Niger-delta ?
Where you not the same people boasting of igbos in SS only to turn back now
D Don1: My people from what I've seen about the Ibos you won't believe it. Some of these ibos are terrorists, they even kill their fellow ibos. For now, there is no Ibo credible politician. Non should enter the president seat for now. They are killers, they shade blood easily. At times what these hausa and yorubas are doing to the ibos is fair. Let us rather support the niger deltas and the calabars. I supported ibos quite alright, but now I've changed my mind. You don't knw what i've found out.
can you people stop posting crap
Niger delta is not any better than Igbos(not ibo)
or are you kalabari aka Killayut
if igbos are killers, so is every Nigerian, tell me what an igbo man has done that others have not done before ?
mbatuku1: He practiced the same politics his 'descendants' in the SW are playing today. Boxing themselves into tight corners, not seeing the bigger picture, etc.
Like some said above, he had no reputation elsewhere besides the West. He was a loner/ lonely loser in the nigerian political spectrum.
1luvkipsus: He was a only a yoruba man,not a Nigerian.unfortunately, the election was for Nigerian president and not yoruba president.remember he saw Nigeria only as a 'geographical expression'.
Love Awolowo to bits but I think that was the problem. He saw Nigeria as a geographical expression.
sasakosa: This is another money going down the drain . i remember the=N=10 billion obj govt. earmarked for poverty allievation which was hijacked by his party cronies.T The FG should have try to revamp our dying infrastructure and providing a good enabling environment for business to thrift and hands off his running of business enterprise.
BetaThings: Zoning was binding on PDP members. It was in their constitution. Remember that it was tested in a Nigerian court? It is actually constitutional! Saying it should be validated in 2015 with SE taking the first shot already barricades the argument Indeed if there is anything to be validated, it is the commitment of SE to agreements. I am saying this not because I dislike the SE, but to draw your attention to issues that might affect SE's quest I have no doubt in my mind that were Yaradua alive and healthy and running a 2nd term, everybody would be courting SE candidates now BTW I don't want a woman president. Even if they zoned it to SE and SE came up with a woman, I would void my vote
pDude: Look at all these fools up in here. You guys are here arguing over meaningly crap about Zik and Awo who have become less than maggot sh.it while the govt is looting your country's funds. Keep preoccupying yourselves with these useless arguments. Dumb Nigerians.
they forgot to add 1 billion naira on inauguration party
600,000 dollars on iweala every month
1.5 million naira on food every day in aso rock
etc
Is this is government that want to remove fuel subsidy and yet can not subsidies it own budgets and steal by hyper inflting a project worth 20 billion to 165 billion
A BILLION that is a millions in 1000 places
Yet all the infrastructures they claim to have build with this hyper inflated budgets are yet to be seen
Beaf: Stop being funny, the Chinese deal to build 3 new refineries is old news that has been dealt with on NL several times. You no de read newspapers?
actually lagos, balaysea and kebbi state not rivers
Now the actual i saw on nairaland but did not tell us what year it would be commission
btw, it started june 2010 so what year is it going to be commissioned ?
Is this thread about the old violation victims or the fact that the SW has the highest number of known rapists? We have known all along that you guys are just criminal. If you steal peoples oil, their company's and such, why not steal sex as well.
@topic The story is very bent and useless, there isn't even a direct quote, rather it is 3rd party news quoting another website which isn't in English (the whole thing is more like gossip).
Nigeria has a deal with China to build 3 new refineries here in Nigeria. 1 in Lagos, 1 in Bayelsa and the last in Rivers.
Just today as we were discussing on this thread, Nigeria invested 2.8 billion dollars meant for Nigeria to indonisia
Are we not our enemy
Nigeria to invest Rp 24t in Indonesian refinery deal The Jakarta Post | Wed, 10/12/2011 2:19 PM A | A | A | Nigeria plans to invest Rp 24 trillion (US$2.68 billion) in Indonesia to fund the construction of three oil refineries, an official says.
The Industry Ministry's director general for manufacturing-based industry, Panggah Susanto, was quoted by kompas.com as saying that both countries had agreed to build the refineries in Indonesia.
Nigeria, which produces 2.6 million barrels of oil per day (bpd), was looking for a partner to refine its crude oil, Panggah said.
"Previously they wanted the refineries to be built in Nigeria," he said Tuesday. "However, as Indonesia is currently improving its downstream industry, Indonesia wanted the refineries to be built here instead."
The refineries, which are projected to produce 300 bpd each, will be used to process crude oil from Nigeria.
"State firm PT Pertamina will buy the crude oil from Nigeria and process it here," he said.
aurenflani: the iranians wanted to purchase the s-300 air defence system from the russians but the russians have been playing hide and seek. already the iranians are designing a better system domestically. so in answer to your claim about the russian factor with regards to ajaokuta steel, i say a serious nation would have since found a solution even domestically. afterall, we do have competant engineers and scientist etc. unfortunately, a are never ready for our collective benefit but individual benefit.
I believe so as well
Obj was the one that really killed this Ajaokuta for good
Every year, thousand of PHD engineers etc are churned out universities, only to remain unemployed
igbo2011: Useless government this just makes me sad. These politicians are too easy to influence. Give them something shiny and tell them it is worth something.
was it not a similar topic I was discussing with you on the other thread some hours ago
Well look at it now
A refineery meant to create some jobs for people has been taken to Indonesian
Government loves supporting Adenuga and Dangote but they need to also help Innoson get off the ground. it is called the infant industry. I learned this in my first university economics class. Ngozi has a PhD she should know about this too (unless she is a puppet for the west)
How so?
I strongly belive that Iweala is not working for us but for the west
All her polices since GEJ era has been against Nigeria, I don't understand her
Johndoe100: The problem of unemployment is more than the 300,000 you mention here. I would recomend that you study this administrations proposals on job creation. Altogether we are looking at creating between 4 to 5 million jobs in the next 3 to 4 years.
Surely, I know this that is why I asked if anyone is knowledgeable enough to educate me on the issue
Moreover, A journey of a thousand miles starts with a step
BiafranFirstSon: Anyone whose state is mentioned as critical cannot agree therefore calling Nigeria a failed state. From 1960 Nigeria has been failng. Let no one pretend that it started today. IMO is my state. My state did not fail. Your state can be a failure. Like freecocoa who hails from Ekiti! I can read bitterness from you.
who told you she hailed from ekiti ?
she is likely to come from ebonyi or SE
anyway here where about is not material in the discussion
asha 80: one more thing ajaokuta steel was dead on arrival.read up about how the russians that set it up did it in a way that will make us dependent on them to run the factory
I think it is a very very sad and painful event that our government is not ready to let go and start again.
I keep thinking that if only the steel mines and innoson can work together, then we would not be having this unemployment issue we have now
