asha 80:i mean during democratic rule |
asha 80:then who's fault I think PDP has been ruling for 12 year and they are all civilains, so I expect them to be a bit more sensitive to the people's needs |
I have to say that this political party called PDP has successfully destroyed Nigeria. Many talents and indigenous companies have been closed down all because PDP that want to create a one party state based on incompetence and lack of ideas for this Nation, one example that comes to mind is Innoson cars. I read Iweala and co talking of economic revival and how they would create 110,000 jobs for the youths using a word called "YouWin" which swallowed up 50 Billion Naira. This program is aimed to open up businesses for the youths thus 50 billion was use, right ! Now I would like to share with you avenues of which the FG can use to create Jobs for graduates if they are fair minded. These are ajaokuta steel mines and Innoson cars This two industries can create more than 300,000 jobs for youth ranging from the banking sector to the actual sites of mining and constructions. Ajaokuta can actually provide the necessary steel needed for Innoson cars but only if the government help the company out. Also these two companies would increase our IGR instead of the government removing the subsidies these are just my though, I don't know if i am thinking wrongly here or maybe just short-sighted with my thoughts. And I would like someone that knows more about these things to explain to me more about it. |
nolongTing:Innoson cars is also meant to be the pride of Nigeria but guess what ? PDP because they are working for foreign powers, have successfully kept Innoson cars down for the sole purpose of bribes that they obtain from companies like toyota and co Innoson cars would have been the major economic break through instead of all this lies Mr president is giving us |
I'm actually not sure why a river port is given the same status as a seaport, here on nl, but you know, whatever. Godspeed.
some times you have have to leave chino11/chy101 and co to be deluded. Once you try to explain to they, they would call you a bigot and insult an ethnic group immediately. Please let just keep calling it the seaport they want us to call it to avoid all forms of silly exchange of words |
the north and west envy igbos so much igbos are the light of this nation and we all knows it
if so, then very good for the igbos and Nigerians, at least we have a source of light in this dark nation. there is no envy, ONE LOVE, ONE NIGERIA |
diluminati:PointB, niajaking and relax101 are not Nigerians but have nigeria ancestry living in the Uk and USA these people are a wicked set of people and do not care about Nigeria same with the defualt prime minister Iweala that is been paid 600,000 dollars every month or so apart from other econmic teams she is in. Iweala does not have Nigeria best intreast at heart. she lived all her life in america where things work for the best at the expence of the world ie africa while she keeps trying to devalue the Naira I do not know today SLS increased the value of Naira Please beg GEJ not to listen to Iweala we are an oil producing country and should not be compared to America. because if america pays 2 dollars per litre should not mean we should do the same OUR CURRENCIES ARE DIFFERENT and should not be compared |
No one hates the igbos infact if there is any hate at all, it is the other way around |
werepeLeri:Nope Iweala and GEJ policies are decreasing the value of Naira. one question, why does GEJ pay Iweala in dollars instead of Naira. Is she patriotic to Nigeria at all or patriotic to America ? the other thread no one called SLS names SLS is fixing the mess Iweala is creating for us !! |
while Iweala and GEJ are trying to reduce our money and hyper inflating the economy. SLS is trying to close in the gap between the dollar and the Naira Iweala SMH I mean a woman that is working for the World bank instead of Nigeria. That is the prime minister |
Naira Gains, Now N158.95 To Dollar By FAVOUR AGBI, with Agency report LAGOS – Naira increased slightly, yesterday, after the aggressive Central Bank of Nigeria’s, CBN, hike in interest rate. The naira opened at N158.60 against the dollar on the interbank market, up 3.4 per cent from Monday’s close of N164.20 and five per cent firmer than the record low of 167.8 plumbed shortly before Monday’s unscheduled Central Bank meeting. Naira, which gained three per cent after the CBN tightening measures, was the world’s best performing currency on the day, and the unit stood at N158.95. CBN hiked the benchmark interest rate, the Monetary Policy Rate, MPR, by 275 basis points to 12 per cent and implemented several other tightening measures to counter pressures on the currency and inflation. Most analysts had expected CBN to raise rates by 100 basis points at the extraordinary meeting, which was called in response to a sharp depreciation of the naira. Dealers noted that, the tightening will create an incentive for investors to hold the naira and free up dollar supply, but the central bank will have to back its actions by meeting dollar demand at its auctions. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/naira-gains-now-n158-95-to-dollar/ |
odumchi:those figures were not UN figures but figures conducted using estimations by each region by colonial masters and did not census because there was no counting of people in 1952/3 Please read the link again ". More recent censuses are particularly disputed. However, the last colonial census in 1952/3 gives an indication of the size of 9 ethnic groups in the population," "Centres of large population concentrations coincide with the homelands of these three majority ethnic groups who constituted 57.8% of the national population in the 1963 census [Afolayan, 1978; 147 & 155]. That census has the Hausa at 11,653,000 (20.9%), the Yoruba at 11,321,000 (20.3%), and the Igbo at 9,246,000 (16.6) [Jibril, 1991, 111]" that is 1991. with that said, you do not get the point of aribisala0 read his post again he is not talking of ethnic population but the population of the regions and with the migration of people to the western region |
abiolak:THANK YOU!!!!! thread close. |
arsenefc:Yes, I would defiantly go into politics. But you and I need to employ Beaf !!! Trust me if we employ him, we would win the hearts of the gullible minds especially like of ezeuche/pointB and niajaking |
naijaking1:who are the people already paying more today at 65N per litre than they would at 142N per litre ? becos I do not understand your question |
wesley80:+1 |
Kudos Gej and Iweala but how would the jobs be created ? |
igbo2011:Yes we have serious inferiority complex which even I am exhibit at times, not to lie I still do not understand why the FG cannot 1. invest in Innoson cars, PPP 2. Stop the importation or reduce it to a certain amount every year I still can not figure that out you know |
So, we are now arresting journalists like Buhari abi? This must be the meaning of continuity. . .
where have u been kilode egbon ![]() |
asha 80:may be so, I guess it is hard to make a good accession of the matter but there are some factors that needs to be considered in terms of open markets 1. Amount of people working in the market 2. Variation of goods 3. day to day money transaction done in the market 4. quantity of goods that can be bought in the market. 5. the amount of people that go to the market to purchase goods on a yearly average |
while others claim jankiri in lagos to be the largest This is my take on the market size after some research although I would not say I have been to all the markets in Nigeria and certainly not jankiri or ibadan market I would hope to believe Onitsha is the largest market in Nigeria, I might be wrong on this. No really sure. |
asha 80:is there any difference in outdoor and open markets ? this site claims onitsha to be the largest in west africa http://www.dloc.com/onitsha Not sure ![]() |
asha 80:mistake the market is located in kumasi ghana but called kejetia market Onitsha i do not think so even in Nigeria because u need to go to sabon gari or ibadan even aba to say all this. |
olawalebab:Largest open markets in africa from lowest to highest 5 The souks of Fes and Marrakech in Morocco. Narrow alleyways, the smell of spices, bicycles being fixed, skinned goats hanging on hooks, carpet sellers following you around and lots of tea being drunk; shopping in the souks is one of the reasons why you should visit Morocco. 4 Islamic Cairo is basically a giant bazaar and a main tourist attraction in Egypt. If you're looking for a belly-dancing costume or want a replica of King Tut's mask, this is the place to be. Get your bargaining boots on and maintain a sense of humor. 3 Kejetia Market in Kumasi, Ghana. Beautiful Kente cloth, Ashanti crafts, bubble gum and dried chameleons, this market has it all and is considered to be one of the best in West Africa. The market is large and crowded but friendly and not too touristy. 2 Maasai Cattle Markets in northern Tanzania. Cattle markets are held every week in small villages on the road between the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. Great place to experience an authentic cattle auction and get a pair of motorcycle tire sandals. 1 Merkato in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Supposedly the largest open air market in Africa, and one of the best. You can buy flip-flops, incense, spices and even kalashnikovs. http://goafrica.about.com/od/africatraveltips/ss/africaplanner_9.htm |
