Who told you that Rivers are Ibos? The only tribe out of all d tribes in Rivers that speaks like the ibos are the Ikwere people. So Rivers are no Did you listen to your self? The only tribe that speaks like Ibo is ikwerre. It took you time to explain to them you are not Ibo that you are from south south. Why are you explaining?you should have told them your ethnicity if you are ijaw, efic, kalabari, anang,Benin, urobo,Ibo etc because that was what they wanted to know. Okay, which state and tribe are because south south is not recognized in our constitution. |
Rose2014:This your abuse is becoming irritating. Have we heard from the guy?from op report,we don't know if it was that once he hit her or has he been beating her? She came home very late may be against repeated warnings. Some facts are missing. He hit her and the mil called police and social welfare etc. The woman was hasty in that decision. If I were the mother ,I would not have done that, nothing to show her life was endangered.marriage is a serious business. Some times giving issues time helps to solve problems especially in marriage and relationship. Okay now,the overwhelming majority feel the lady acted wrongly by going with the kids, and from all indications she still loves him but dancing to her mother tunes. She should be matured and go back before it is late. Married women shouldn't tell their people every minor issue especially when there is frosty relationship between inlaws. Even that dinner they wanted him so much to be part of is not the right place for reconciliation. I am against abuse in all ramifications but one or two slip ups can be pardoned. |
Shubbylee:nollywood populated by igbo is a big budget business and not for charity.the igbo pioneers of nollywood set out to reach out to the world with their flicks and they are almost there.igbo culture is alive and waxing stronger and is now a global brand as english is a global language.yuroba/hausa/others are doing well but can never achieve global outreach in local vernacular.an average nollywood film is within budget bracket of 10m-50m.some actors/actresses collect as much as 1m-2.5m to feature and most of them are living big in choice areas of big cities and are into other big businesses just like their counterparts in other climes.the language of film industry is money and igbo are financially literate to understand it.can we say that the olu jacobs, omotalas, eliots etc are fools for sticking with nollywood? no entrepreneur will spend such money just to promote culture.how has canny-wood and yollywood impacted financially on their players?.their highest paid actors collect like 30k.nollywood can never descend to that level.igbo should not worry about channel on dstv ,despite not having channel, igbo culture is synonymous with nigeria culture outside nigeria.marriage, burial, chiefancy, architecture, etc nigerian international travelers are always confronted with 'igwee' igbo greeting in various cities around the world.at appropriate time dstv will dedicate a channel to igbo and if they do not, when their monopoly is broken, they will understand as igbo remain the largest subscribers of dstv in nigeria among nigeria ethnic groups. |

imoikoko:from all indications you are educated but your reasoning about igbo not being smart is unfounded. Why do you always lump igbo together?Nigeria is not a communist one party state.igbo in apc said they will vote for ambode.igbo in pdp said they will vote for agbaje.igbo in other parties said they will vote for their parties.there are igbo presidential candidates among the parties competing in the forth coming elections.how are they not being smart?so igbo should not vote in nigeria anymore and other tribes vote?northerners, yuroba, tiv, bachamas, beron ijaw etc ,are they exempted in boko haram and herdsman onslaught in the north?why some landlords do not want igbo tenants, others want igbo because they can pay you upfront and have high tendency to renew than others. In the next ten years you you will see igbo and other tribes in lagos state house of assembly, councilors and federal house of assemblies.the turf is getting tougher by the day.apc grip is slipping in lagos and i assure you that by 2019,there will be equilibrium that a vote will count .there is no way you can wish off the population of igbo in lagos and as long as democracy is a game of number and nigeria exists .there is nothing like discreet support in politics for a population of over 2m.even if it is done discreetly igbo haters will expose it.as for deportation,it will never happen again.mind you others states/tribes [including sw] were deported and they kept quiet but igbo fought it and it reverberated and there was apology and regrets.igbo is a tribe you cannot toy with.wake up. |
CHM11:but all these states have indigenous igbo. |
2undexy:Guys do not take these literally, these are loaded pointers in analyzing your potential future wife.I want to share my experience .I was lucky to have found my footing early in life, good apartment and a car but you would never know my worth because i kept low profile, I really liked girls and i was into them. Endowed, slim and naturally looking girls were my weaknesses. When the hunger to settle down descended on me , i went in for soul searching and among the girls I had come across, there were materialistic ones, wife materials, intelligent and pure 'animals'. The reasons i chose my wife 'sweet heart' among the pool and having a blissful marriage 12 yrs down the line were from the op points. We are Real, relax and peaceful, that doesn't mean we do not have challenges but she has never changed from those traits among op points. + when she came she would eat with me whatever that was available without making a fuss whereas others would want 'buffet'. + when i took her to eateries she frowned at the exorbitant prices for the useless and unhealthy food they sell there, which i knew was very exploitative.she would suggest that 1/4 of the money would be used to prepare quality food.Other girls would eat and request for take away. + sometimes i pretended my car was bad ,some would become sick if we were to use bus or trek but if you bring bicycle my wife would ride with you. + i might have N30,000 for outing but she would pay if she was in front of me but others would point to you to conductor. + i can never forget when i traveled out for 2 weeks and kept 30k for her up keep but when i came back she game me back N26,500 whao!what! she said 'i bought only condiments as you have rice, beans etc at home'. Others would finish it and collect credit from kiosks around. +she would clean up my house and wash my clothes because she hates dirtiness whereas others would mess up your place leave plates, bedspreads unwashed, condoms etc + she bought me boxers, singlets, t-shirts occasionally but others would draw the last blood. Based on the above i married her.She may not win Mrs Nigeria but these qualities are inestimable.I did not do fasting and prayer but based on my observations because i wanted to be real. Most girls are fake. |
Take it from me,she is having an affair and having her fill out side. Once you start you will never have the urge to do it with your partner even for one year. |
sweettease:Sun does not shine at night. Until we hear from the guy,I will not pass blame but I can guess. It might be that after helping the guy got a job she felt he was hers forever and started misbehaving like having affairs, socialising with top guys in their industry, keeping late nights, going to unreal conferences, becoming lazy and bossy, not cooking and keeping home. She was doing these and enjoying her life with the air he was hers for and that is why 11yrs passed with out her knowing,if not she would have tied him down in the first 1-3years with marriage or pregnancy. No real man will take it. There's no smoke without fire. |
This is the only way nigeria can be great and earn foreign exchange.Am sorry but i wish nigeria oil would just dry up for us to discover our potentials.Looters have made hardworking nigerians look stupid and discouraged as if hard work doesn't pay anymore. Kudos to our entrepreneurs. |
googlepikin:late marriage is now spreading to other tribes due economic situation. |
You guys are talking rubbish. Why must you be so rich before u marry. If not that the country is bad ideally at 25-28, guys should have settled down. Well most igbo men I know at 50, their first child will be 10 years. Is that life?. You won't understand until u are 60 and u are still paying school fees for a child in secondary school. Must you guys be so so rich before getting married? It doesn't make sense. Stop justifying rubbish. What is wrong is wrong. I don't expect u people to understand now till u see your mates who started early relaxing at age 60 while u are still training a child in school. [/quote There is a difference between being rich and having a steady flow of income before dabbling into marriage.I believe igbo are not waiting to be rich but to have flow of income. Marriage is a serious business my dear.Money is very central to marriage and modern living.Think of accommodation for the family, health matters, feeding, education and other social needs then you will know you have to plan it well.I have seen a lot of couples lost their kids because of N1,000.It is not how far but how well.In some other climes some people don't even marry .Every culture has it merits and demerits.Even in the olden days when farming was the other of the day, you had to have a barn stuffed with farm[your out put] produce before you marry in Igbo land.Statistics has shown that on the average Igbo marriages are more stable and cohesive than some other tribes who rush into it without adequate planning. It is not just about money but the desire to marry and stay married. There are millions of Igbos boys that made money ,built houses , bought cars and are in fact multimillionaires before 25yrs but they still marry at 30-40yeasr,when they are really ready and have the hunger to get married.Recently people have been committing suicide in some parts of the country as a result of pressures from unplanned marriage. Just like any other serious issues of life,if you fail to plan for your marriage, then you plan to fail.If it works for your tribe that you meet in a party ,have sex and move in, start making babies,no dowry, tomorrow you part ways, leave the children to fend for themselves and move on with another partner, it doesn't work for Igbo and that is why they are Igbo and you are who you are. |
holluwai:South Africa has breathtaking environment.Ours is a jungle. Nigeria generally is dirty, even Abuja is not in top 20 of livable cities in Africa. We just need to wake up. You will be blown away by such places Kigali,Accra,Kampala,da elsalem etc |
dre11:Burial is a big deal in Ibo land and it is not a woman business no matter how rich or influential. It is a CLAN affairs. The womans brothers may have been irresponsible and their clan abandoned them. After taking care of him for years alone and spending all her money and he eventually died, and she informed them and they still left the corpse for her,she left it until they come home.okay coffin N15,000, digging of 6ft grave N10,000, etc for a food vendor? The woman is innocent.Other tribes may not understand stand but matured Ibo will understand the situation. |
People should know that restructuring of the country is much more important than having an angel president. |
Okay! I concur with ohaneze and afenifere groups. Let us restructure for development. |
Wao! Is this going to be the trend in the Southwest in 2015?This is massacre.May they RIP. |
9jagirl4ree:No it is ritual. |
Rape has become a past time for Nigeria adults these days and no body is doing anything about it. It is a serious crime in other climes but here we laff it off. Okay no problem. |
For the nay Sayers,a whole executive governor of Rivers state,an ikwerre man ,took a mic and told the public he is an IGBO MAN. Anyway my respect to the the vast majority of Ikwerre who know they are Igbo and keep to their Igboness by giving their children Igbo names, maintaining Igbo culture in marriage, ezeship, food, clothing, music, market days, language etc.Let the few insignificant remain in denial but one thing is,the Igbo are surging once again in all aspects of endeavour and not only that Nigeria is taking notes, the world is also observing. Peace. |
The satin satin sheen ladies are bombs, raw and natural. You hardly meet natural looking girls these days. Every girl now is so artificial, especially these attachments and extensions,so fake, they are a big turn off to me. I wish ladies would reinvent satin sheen era. |
That is why people hardly help people these days. |
chatupkay:When enlightened people reason like the uninformed,it becomes worrisome.why is that some people have refused to understand the slogan that LAGOS IS NO MANS LAND. Lagos by virtue of its position as a former capital and its prime location in West Africa is the undisputed economic capital of Nigeria. It is to Nigeria the new York of USA,London of the UK etc.It has evolved over the years from yuroba town to Nigerian capital and finally, international City. Apart from Nigerians of other ethnic groups who throng to Lagos,it has now opened its arms to massive influx of Indians,Chinese,South Africans,Ghanaians,Nigerians,Chadians,Europeans etc to scramble for enormous opportunities it offers. There used to be closure of streets for parties but now extinct, there used to prayers in the streets but now extinct.Omonile now collect from everyone irrespective of tribe or nationality.Rents and properties are hitting the roof and government policies now are no longer selective in order to keep up with its status as an emerging international hub. It is now the survival of the smartest. It was in the grapevine that tinubu and fasola are not from Lagos state and you are talking. I advise Yoruba e-warriors to key in into evolving Lagos or be left out in no distant future. They should work hard and go entrepreneurial to create wealth and jobs for teeming area boys who hope on stipends from hardworking people of Lagos. It will not continue I bet you. A close observer will notice how economic hotspots of Lagos are being taken up by other ethnic groups and foreigners alike Apapa,Surulere, lekki,Ikeja etc and the sons of the soil are relocating to the outskirts ;ikorodu, badagry and the likes where there are little or no economic activities with attendant high transport fares to the city centers.Very soon and we are almost there, it will sink in doubting thomases the meaning that Lagos is no mans land. |
beopened:I am a soothsayer, endorsement or no endorsement,I have been revealed the the fixation of Igbo mind in this upcoming presidential election,85-90% of Igbo votes goes to Jonathan. |
Unibenstudent:I was into money early in my life, I tried the power of money on all the women I dated they all failed Hausa Igbo yuroba minorities. Only my wife passed the test.99% of women love materially. But money is a prominent factor in life and if you want to make money and be rich, you must love ❤ money. |
proffemi:The fact is,neither gmb nor gej is the messiah that will usher us into the Eldorado. How can gmb stop the massive lootings going on in the National assembly, state assemblies,LGAs ,numerous ministers, commissioners and other various loopholes to syphon billions backed by the constitution? I wish e-warriors could galvanize their energy towards revisiting our constitution for peoples constitution. We need to restructure the country to depopulate the centre and to cut costs of governance and streamline administration. No country will develop when its recurrent expenditure is 75% ,and 25% for capital projects as it obtains now.I assure you that with the present setup of this country, even a foreign angel will perform woefully. |
Eziachi:My dear it happened real time on national tv and I watched it. It was a civilian governor , Alhaji Barkinzuwo, the buhari regime toppled them, when the soldiers searched his house millions of naira cash were found packed in his wardrobe, under the bed ,etc. When questioned,he said the house is government house and that the money is government money. He was not educated but was very corrupt.I was a kid then but was interested in affairs.Older people who witnessed it can bear witness more but the core of the story is real. |
omolami:Justice demands fairness, which oath? If one of them is my kid,I will gladly welcome him home. How can you send soldiers to the war front without adequate weaponry? Some thing boko haram cannot even do to their fighters. What is wrong with Nigeria, why do we always do things the opposite and expect good results,Iraq,Syria,Libya,Pakistan have been in wars but you will not hear this kind of news. Mind you our soldiers are good, they have never shied away from their responsibilities but the complaints are always lack of weapons and equipment and yet billions are budgeted every year. The high command should be ready to dismiss more as only cowards will go to war with bare hands against well armed groups like bh. Patriotism my foot. |
