Nigeria is really backward in everything. So Benin has a seperate road 4 bike.
Not only that, constant power supply, constant water supply, trailers and containers are not allowed in the daytime.I always look for an opportunity
to cross over for a change.

PoliticsRe: Enugu Makes History, Joins World’s 100 Resilient Cities by allcomage: 9:25pm On Dec 06, 2014
lalasticlala:
Enugu made history, Wednesday, as the only Nigerian city among 35 cities from across the globe invited to join the 100 Resilient Cities Network (100RC) pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation, New York.

The announcement was made during The Rockefeller Foundation’s Urban Resilience Summit in Singapore. The other three African cities that made the list alongside the Coal City of Enugu are Kigali (Rwanda), Accra (Ghana) and Arusha (Tanzania).

The choice of Enugu was predicated on the transformation of the road network in the city under Sullivan Chime. This was in addition to numerous national and international recognitions that have been bestowed on Enugu state. The organizers of the network said that Enugu was chosen from nearly 350 applicants on the basis of its ability to “demonstrate a unique vision for resilience, a long-term commitment to cutting across levels of government and sectors of society, a special attention to the needs of the poor and vulnerable.”

The Foundation stressed that Enugu like other Network cities will serve as a model for other global cities that seek to build their own resilience.

This second wave of cities will join 32 cities that won last year’s 100 Resilient Cities Challenge, forming a growing network of urban centers around the world that are ready to respond to the social, economic and physical shocks and stresses that are a growing part of the 21st century.

Other renowned cities of the world invited to join the list in the 2014 edition include Athens, Barcelona, London, Paris, Boston, Chicago, Amman, Sydney and Singapore.
100-Resilient Cites was created by an initial $100 million commitment by the Rockefeller Foundation as part of their Centennial last year, recognizing the trends of urbanization and globalization that characterize this century.

I was exposed to motivational books early in my life and one thing all of them teach is to lean on the positive aspect of life. Therefore, for me, i always dwell on the positive side of everything be it setbacks, religion, ethnicity, culture or whatever and it has impacted on my life positively.Coming from a minority tribe, i have always been associated the with igbo, have them as friends through schools and eventually married one.i observed there is always this subtle moves everywhere be it in government, educational, corporate, tribal and religious circles to dim their light but for their resilience. They represent the good, the bad and the ugly just like any other nationality. It is a tribe either you hate to love or you love to hate.Unarguably they have become the face of Nigeria going by my encounters with foreigners in my travels. They become agents of change in any environment they habit.Since the ObJ second coming, few achievements recorded have Igbo as the main driving force:banking,telecom,nafdac,sports,debt/foreign reserve etc. They now have the largest pool of technocrats in the country given their resurgence in education. They are gradually encircling Nigeria despite all efforts to keep them away from the highest office in land.over 50% of Nigeria liquidity is their hand leaving the remainder to over 300 ethnic groups. My recent trips to southeast was an opener, there is aggressive economic resurgence not witnessed in other parts of the country.Dangote trucks are allover the place hauling cement .I suppose entrepreneurship is the way to go and the Igbo have chosen the right part.A prophet may not be accepted in his own country but the world is taking note of Igbo.My in laws kwenu!

What kind of training would require a nation at war,to pull out equipments used in protecting human lives from the war front? I've always said this;America has a big hand in this boko haram crisis cos their body language and the way they have related with us on this insurgency issue, gives them away. So,until you pull out equipments from the battle front, the soldiers cannot be trained? Smh.
So you believe this yarns? You are engaged in a war and you are asked to withdraw equipment and personnel for training? I you believe it,you can believe anything.

Wao! Never heard of him. He is embodiment hard work. Under conducive environment, a lot of Nigerians thrive like no other. So many of them have not been heard of but few criminals always take the shine of them. Good luck to him and I suggest they should remember home like Indians and Chinese to help create employment and transfer of expertise and skills. I believe their types don't believe and think Nigeria anymore.

Dear Nethanyahu,

Thank you for your concern. Indeed we face same kind of cowardly enemies who seek to harm unarmed civilians.
Do note that we could do with Merkava tanks, assault rifles, and other weapons of carnal warfare.

Please do strive to send these as a gesture of your support.

Sincerely,

Concerned Nigerians
Why should they send tanks and uzzi? Any country sent to them? Are they not defeating their numerous enemies? Have tanks and guns finished in the arms market? Have you heard of boko haram and isis illegal organizations begging for ammunition? Why should Nigeria,a legitimate country be in quandary on how to produce weapons?is Cameroun not crushing bh when they strayed?didn't you see uhuru Kenyatta small boy talking tough and dismissing minister and fighting al shabab? What a shame! We simply lack leaders with balls.

I saw it on the road and could not believe it is possible to run on 3 tires.the police parked him and entered and directed him to a corner. It was really dangerous.I was watching from a safe place but do you know what?after like 15 minutes the guy was back on the road.
When I gave it thought,it is possible why?
It is a front wheel drive car,the weight of the engine and shafts are in the front.the traction is in the front.it was not carrying loads. But this can only happen in animal society of ours called Nigeria.

With my age and level of education I never new this, this lady for me ranks among top ten of all important Nigerian personalities.in spite of British evil deeds in Nigeria they still left some good legacies which we abandoned to pick our wicked ways.i have been lucky to visit over 12 countries colonised by British, most of the good legacies are being kept but in Nigeria the reverse is the case.even in this age,the queen gives like one honour or none to a distinguished citizen in year but here it is over 400 potential convicts every year.looters forgive me to say that the greatest undoing of this great country apart from ethnicity and religion is PETRO MONEY .we have lost it all.a country so rich but so poor.some might find it difficult to believe but Nigeria would have done better than this without Oil.thanks Nairaland for this important aspect of our history ,go Ladi Kwali.

The other day it was in Dutse.Misplacement of priority for the North, just for Islam they committed colossal sums for unviable venture.the north irrespective of beliefs need education, healthcare and economic empowerment more than anything.the traditionalists, christians, atheists, moderate Muslims are being denied these for Islamism.northern Muslims are a special species in the world.it is instructive that boko haram is the offshoot of these misplaced priorities.I rest my case.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News!!! Bomb Blast In Kasuwa *monday Market Maiduguri* by allcomage: 7:37pm On Nov 25, 2014
It is really a pity that the North is going through this.when they gleefully introduced sharia, they never paused to ask why turkey,Egypt,Tunisia, morocco etc. who are 95%Muslims are fighting Islamists from coming close to power.knowing their mentality, this will never stop even if you give them power today.it's really a pity that the region with the worst development indices is bombing themselves to ashes.

What is happening in the southwest region?is southwest declining generally?I was there and was not happy, since this beautiful stadium was opened no club from south west has played in the final.only clubs from south east, south south, middle belt and north.70's and 80's south west and south east held sway with healthy rivalry but not anymore.Lagos/Ibadan used to produce the bulk of Nigerian football professionals.Lagos with over 15,000,000 people has no club in past decades now while similar cities like Rio,Mexico city,Cairo,Johannesburg,Accra etc have over 3 top clubs in their leagues.stadiums are laying fallow.there is so much money in football and sports in general.Lagos should buy a struggling premier club at any cost and groom more clubs to provide youth with empowerment.this is urgent and that is one area fashola has failed me but it is not late to make a move.my honest observation.

Rexyl:
when that part of the country chooses to walk in darkness. a leader may do nothing when the followers are devilish, illiterate and living in political and religious bondages. I thinks there are leaders, not a leader in the North East. Yet the zone is in trouble of leadership.

So based on your submission the whole of northeast has no competent leader(s). That is terrible.
Only the northeast have the capacity to initiate and solve this problem,if they are waiting for government and outsiders, they are wasting their time.
