Hiii! So, I've been meaning to do this since last year but I just kept putting it off. I'm sorry it took me this long to update everybody who contributed to this thread. First off, I really appreciate everyone of you for your kind words and encouragement that year. It was just the motivation I needed at that time. I can still remember, clearly in fact, that night while I was in night class when Ymodolus freakied my account . I will never forget you and I really hope to see you one day. I actually graduated with a first class last year (4.56) and the best graduating student of my department. I was really happy. Hold on. Before I graduated, I got a fully funded scholarship for my MS here in Texas and I travelled in January. God, y'all, and my first class helped me to secure that scholarship. Even before I left the country, I was working in a 'mouthed' agency in Ikeja as an intern using the skills I learnt along the way. Last year was just so surreal for me. Everything happened so fast. Well, now that I'm here in the states , doing my MS and enjoying every bits of it, I will say this: Whatever you find yourself doing, do it very well. First class or no first class, what life rewards is your tenacity, commitment, and attitude towards work. This is my experience, and I can tell you it's valid. The journey is just starting for me and I intend to maximize this opportunity and put in my best to create the kind of future that I desire. Thank you very much: Florblu, GentlemanAyo, davbro, GideonG, Godwinony, cstr1000, Mitchely, Sleyanya1, JhyMedex, Ekealterego, Evaberry, Tittusstar22, Muyimart, frob0genius, Gerrard59, Partnerbiz3, aanexplus, tens4real, abfalkolly, AntiWailer, HomeTutor1, Ojugunrege, arodavoo, lordhugo, Joy Joomla, adakoleagbenu, daseento, phi001, olutee360, DrIkB, Magjoel, oyakhilomeh, Ymodulus, Ajegun, perfecter4real, Johnwriter, Blonchilli, mindtricks, p0intBlank, LordeCalifornia, Akinscarce2020. There are also possiblities that this lady is chasing clout, but then... will a lady be bold enough to chase clout with something like this, having known that she'll bear the consequences if proven wrong?

Hi guys, I'm working on a personal project and I'm at the last phase which is proving to be the most difficult. I have these 10 tables in my database and what I want to do is to take a particular column from each of these tables based on the user_id. I want to do some computations on these values and insert the result into a new table. I hope this explanation is explicit enough. I've tried using JOIN, but most of the examples I saw online only addressed situations where 2-3 tables are involved. 10 tables is a different case, and maybe more complex. But I feel since I'm just picking a column each, it should not be that complex. I'm not sure though. Please, y'all should help so my morale no go drop . I'm working on a sort of dashboard using php. Thanks in advance. |
Agriculture › What Is Your Opinion On GMOs & Hybrid Seeds? by AloyalNigerian(op): 12:24am On Aug 06, 2020*. Modified: 3:05am On Aug 06, 2020 |
Whenever GMO is mentioned, the first thing that might cross your mind is "cancer". . I understand that the idea of GMO is scary and we find it difficult to come to terms with that fact. For real, how can you tell me that you extracted a gene responsible for a desirable trait from an organism (mostly bacteria) and then incorporated same into the genome of a plant. However, I won't want to go with the bandwagon. I have my reservation about this topic because I have carefully examined diverse experts' opinions. I concluded that those who don't want GMOs are simply scared of the unknown. Well, I am still skeptical about it too. Although, GMO is broadly welcomed if it's not aimed towards the production of food to be consumed. Are you aware that Nigeria approved her first GMO few months ago. It is pest-resistant Bt cotton proposed to revitalize the dying textile industry. Bt cotton include a gene from Bacillus thuringiensis. I guess this is the benefit of GMO we can all accept? Many farmers use hybrid seeds because of its numerous advantages. What do you think about GMOs? Are hybrid seeds really what the hype? Do you use them? Meanwhile, you can check this post on FarmSquare on this same topic and may be comment too : https://farmsquare.ng/hybrid-varieties-or-genetically-modified-varieties/Thanks! |

EdmundDantes: When I read comments, I realise this country is not going to improve any time soon. I usually don't read comments past the first page. But this one, I was forced to come all the way here. I AM TERRIFIED. Like WTF! Most people are passing judgements emotionally just because she fell for a rich guy? How's that illegal? So many guys disappointed me today. Expressing pure hatred for a woman does not make you an Alpha male. Never. I am scared asf. This could happen to anybody. What if it happens to me? Is this what folks will say too? Just because some females hurt males by leaving when we are broke, this does not invalidate the unprofessionalism of those policemen or male the unfortunate lady guilty. I am grossly disappointed. Career › Re: Babs Omotowa: The Public School Teacher Who Became CEO Of NLNG by AloyalNigerian(m): 6:58pm On Jul 20, 2020 |
JARUSHUB: With the decline in price of crude oil and accelerated shift to renewables, what is your advice to aspiring or current students of petroleum engineering or similar fields in Nigeria?
We are yet to fully evaluate the impact of Covid on crude oil and global energy demand in terms of whether it will further accelerate the shift to renewables faster than 2070 window for which we previously still foresaw crude oil playing a major role within the energy system. However, crude oil is not disappearing anytime soon as the world still needs lots of energy especially in developing countries for electricity, transport and for petrochemicals.
So current students of Petroleum Engineers or similar fields need not be hurrying out quickly as there is still a career over the next 50-years. Also, most of the knowledge and skills in the oil industry are transferable to renewables industry (e.g. offshore wind) and many of the oil companies are investing significantly in alternative energies and would deploy their talents across.
As an oil and gas executive, how do you relax?
This is one of the holy grail challenges in the modern world.
When I started work in the industry in 1993, once you closed from work daily or on Friday, you had all your time till the next day or throughout the weekend, uninterrupted, as no one could reach you except you were on duty and had the duty walkie-talkie. Under such, it was then easy to unwind, with family and friends and for example go to the beach (Abraka resort in those days), to sporting activities or to social events.
However, the world today, with 24-hours interconnectivity via internet and telephones is a different world. The span of Executives is also now much wider, as for example, as a Global functional VP in Shell, I had responsibilities across 40 countries in different continents and time zones, leading to a 24-hour working window.
This makes relaxing a challenge in modern day but it remains important as without relaxing, an Executive will easily burn out. One thing I learnt to do was to spread out my annual leave, so that every two months I could take at least take a week off work to relax and importantly spend time with family travelling together as a family to unwind and get to know different places, far and near. A key during such travels is to avoid being drawn into emails and phone calls with work and thus important to fully delegate during one’s absence.
I also like reading in my spare time (currently reading “The Outsiders – Eight Unconventional CEOs and their Radically Rational Blueprint for Success by William Thorndike” and “The Idea in you, how to find it, build it and change your life by Amor and Pellew”). I am also writing my memoir, which would hopefully be published next year.
Many thanks.

Romance › Re: Guys Don't Be Sad If A Lady turns You down by AloyalNigerian(m): 11:51pm On Jun 17, 2020 |
DenreleDave: My fellow guys, I know how it feels when a lady turns down your request.... I have been in your shoes before and I can tell how its hurts
Nevertheless, don't be bothered because a lady turned you down, what you should focus on is how to improve your self so that when she sees you in the next coming years, she will envy you and want a comeback with you...
Example: I have an ex that I loved so much then.. I did everything to please her and she still fvcked up later... That was 2015... But now, I can't see her naked and get erection.... She Don fat and look less beautiful than b4.....
2ndly, there is this lady I like so much during my ND days, she was in business admin, I was in banking and finance but our lecture hall is beside each other... Very beautiful and nice shape..
Today, I saw her in the bank... I think she is married and she Don fat small... I began to wonder if this is the same lady I trip for then in school.....
So guys, focus on getting better than b4... Don't feel sad bcox she turned u down.... U may see her 3 years later and thank God that u never approached her......
Note: all I'm saying is don't waste ur useful life wanting to please a lady.. Develop ursef and see ladies striving to please you.
Be wise... Focus on ur life rather than shaping ursef for a woman to accept u While I understand and appreciate the point you are trying to make, I have my reservations about the example you used to illustrate your point. If I try to speak to a lady, it's obviously because I love her (I mean, I love her and everything about her). Now, if you are suggesting that when I see her in a few years time, I'd thank my star that she turned me down, why? Just because she added weight ? Nah nah. That's not a valid point for me. What if she didn't turn me down at that time, will that stop her from adding weight in 3 years time? |
