Crime / Man Held For Sleeping With His Daughters by aloyemeka1: 10:58pm On Dec 21, 2011
Man Held For Sleeping With His Daughters
A 51-year-old okada rider has been sent to Kirikiri prison for sleeping with his two daughters. The suspect, Collins Oleka, a native of Mbano in Imo State was arrested by the police at Area ‘G’ Command, Ogba, following a complaint lodged by an NGO based in Ogba, Lgos, southwest Nigeria.
According to his first daughter, an 18-year-old school leaver, her father started sleeping with her at the age of 12 and when she told her mother she was warned not to tell anyone as, according to her mother, such a scandal will bring shame to the family.
Collins Oleka was said to have extended his lust to his second daughter who is now 15 years and began sleeping with the two girls. The eldest daughter who could no longer bear the ordeal told her friend who reported the matter to an Ogba-based Non-governmental Organisation, NGO.
Officials of the NGO, P.M. NEWS gathered, reported the matter to the police and the man was arrested.
According to the first daughter: “He has been sleeping with me since I was 12 years old and when I reported him to my mother, she warned me not to tell anybody because it will bring shame to our family. Now I am 18 and I can’t continue to bear it so I told my friend who informed the NGO about it. He also sleeps with my younger sister”.
The Executive Director of the NGO, a female doctor who told P.M. NEWS that she does not want both her name and that of the organisation mentioned, said the organisation’s primary duty is pioneering, promoting and practising sexual violence response and vowed to see to the end of the case.

http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/12/21/man-held-for-sleeping-with-his-daughters/
Speaking with P.M. NEWS, the O/C, Human Rights Desk, at Area ‘G’ Police Command, Ogba, Supol Yemisi Ali, said the randy father has been charged to family court 6, Ikeja, on a two-count charge.
Count I reads: “That you Collins Oleka ‘m’ on the 17th day of September 2011 at about 23:50hrs at No 11 Abeni close, Gbagada, Ifako in Ikeja Magisterial District did sexually harass Chiamaka Oleka, aged 18 and Ginika Oleka, aged 15 and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 262 laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.”
Count II reads: “That you Collins Oleka ‘m’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial District did sexually assault by penetrating into Chiamaka Oleka ‘f’ aged 18 and Ginika Oleka ‘f’, both your daughters and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 259 laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.”
The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail by the magistrate, Mrs. A.A. Oshoniyi, in the sum of N200,000 and a surety whose address must be verified. The accused was sent to Kirikiri prison when he could not meet the bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 13 February, 2012.

DEREGULATION: Jonathan writes Nigerians •Says I’m building Nigeria of the future •Cement importation stops 2012

Written by Taiwo Adisa, Akin Adewakun and Ayomide Owonibi
Wednesday, 21 December 2011

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan may have taken the decision to directly communicate with Nigerians on the critical issues contained in his government’s agenda

as enunciated in the 2012 budget.

The president, in an electronic mail message sent to Nigerians on Tuesday and entitled Let's Talk Economics, said his government targeted economic prosperity in its bid to create a new Nigeria.

Jonathan revealed that he has placed a ban on foreign rice in the Presidential Villa and ordered that only Ofada rice and bread with local cassava input be henceforth served at the Villa as a way of promoting local rice production.

The e-mail sent from the president's personal mail box read in part:

Dear, ,

“Thank you for your support and prayers for Nigeria. I would like to take a few minutes of your time to discuss the current state of our economy with you.

“My vision for our economy, which is encompassed in the Budget Proposal I just tabled before a Joint Session of the National Assembly is to transform Nigeria into a productive economy that maximises its comparative advantage within the larger global context, for the benefit of all Nigerians. The ambition is to transform Nigeria into one of the world’s top 20 economies by the year 2020, hence Budget 2012 emphasises a number of themes, including fiscal consolidation, inclusive growth and job creation.

“I have pledged between now and 2015 to reduce Nigeria’s recurrent expenditure and increase capital expenditure (projects, infrastructure, social services, etc). Already, the budget proposal I presented this year has a 2.4% reduction in our recurrent expenditure from last year. This is backed by the determination to also ensure prudent spending and a greater system wide emphasis on due process, transparency, integrity and accountability.

"I envision a country that lives within its means and our plans between now and 2015 is to reduce borrowing to the barest minimum and I am glad to report that in the budget proposal I laid before the National Assembly, there has been a huge drop in Nigeria’s borrowings.

Multiple birth:Doctors say 4 but God added another
on DECEMBER 21, 2011 · in HEALTH

By Shola Ogundipe & CHIOMA OBINNA
For most couples, the birth of a baby elicits joy. For some, the birth of twins or more elicits even greater joy and gratitude but when a woman is safely delivered of quadruplets (four babies) or quintuplets (five), her joy is supposed to be boundless.

Such is the case of Mr. Wale Shofunlayo and his wife, Olayemi who were blessed with a healthy set of quintuplets weekend at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH.

According to Wale, the couple’s joy is immesureable as they did not prepare for five babies at a go.

As a Lawyer, Wale is under no illusion about the birth of their quintuplets. To him, the birth of the babies confirmed the adage that “Doctors care and God heals. ”

*The babies

Before the babies came, the couple had prepared for quadruplets as the doctors’ investigation including comprehensive scan showed that there were four babies. But little did they know that posterity had another plan for them. A gift, which could be described as the best Christmas gift anyone could get at a time like this.

Vanguard gathered that the middle aged woman who gave birth to two boys and three girls was said to have been in the hospital since last June waiting for the arrival of the babies that finally came last week Friday.

Doctors at LUTH had recommended bed rest from the seventh month till delivery.

The delivery, which was taken by over 50 active medical personnel at the hospital all started like a fairy tale when the first, second, third and fourth baby came and the leader of the medical team, identified simply as Professor Ajayi discovered that there was still ‘something’ in the womb.

Apparently confused with the fact that all the while, medical examinations continually show only four babies, the experts almost jumped to conclusion that what was left must be fibroid tissue. But thanks to experience, that made them hesitant in terminating whatever may be there or seal up the opening without further probe.

(f) A concession that was granted for the building of a coastal road, 4th mainland bridge and expansion of Lekki road has now been turned into mere rehabilitation of an existing road for the same 30-year concession. This is fraud

(g) Fences are being built around the toll areas to box residents within the area. This has security and safety implications. If there is a major emergency like major armed robbery operations, civil crisis, major floods, fire incidents etc and residents need to be evacuated in a hurry; there will be major massive bottleneck at the toll plaza as there is no other escape route except through the lagoon or Atlantic Ocean. Remember the Oke-Afa mass drowning incident of 2002. God forbid!

(h) The owners of LCC have also received cash payments and land grants from Lagos state government in addition to the 30 year toll. These payments and land grants were initially made under the agreement that the 4th mainland bridge-Lekki road-coastal road would be built. It is therefore criminal to obtain compensation for a project only to turn around and reduce the scope.

(i) Several prominent Baales, residents and associations have voiced their objections over the years but were arrogantly ignored by government and LCC. The Eti-Osa Heritage Group, Concerned Residents of Lekki-Ajah (COROLA) and other Indigenous groups have expressed reservations and berated LCC for what they considered inequitable for the residents.

(j) We indeed wonder what the Lagos State House of Assembly is there for if it cannot raise its voice to protect its citizens. The House is indeed culpable as it remains ineffective when this entire charade is going on under its watch or is the House of Assembly another conquered territory of both Tinubu and Fashola?
Politics / Re: Facts On Lekki Toll & The Tinubu Connection by aloyemeka1: 2:11am On Dec 20, 2011
16. THE BIG FRAUD

This is the biggest fraud ever conceived!

(a) A road that was initially constructed by two previous administration and that belong to the Lagos State Government is now being jointly owned by Tinubu-the former governor and Fashola-the present governor through his crony-Dr Tunji Olowolafe under the consortium LCC

(b) LCC was appointed without conforming to the Public Procurement Act of 2007. There was no public bidding process, no competing bids from other consortium and the fact that the former Governor and the present Governor have personal interest is criminal in nature.

(c) LCC will collect toll from the taxpayers of Lagos over the next 30years. The amount to be collected was not subject to any negotiation or law by any regulatory agency. Which means it is arbitrary and could be changed without notice anytime through the duration of the 30 year lease.

(d) In addition, landowners and prospective builders of homes are being charged heavily as infrastructural charge, land use charge and personal income tax and are now required to pay road tax or toll. This is multiple taxation in its worst form.

(e) The people’s livelihoods have been disrupted for the past 3 years without compensation and there is no alternate road anywhere as it is in practice in other parts of the world where there are toll roads.

Politics / Re: Facts On Lekki Toll & The Tinubu Connection by aloyemeka1: 2:11am On Dec 20, 2011
11. To further confirm this, Tinubu has built a multi-billion naira state of the art hotel-the Oriental Hotel along the express road. Conveniently, the toll gate is located a few meters before the hotel coming from VI so that the hotel clients wouldn’t have to pay toll. Even, special entry and exit points (including a roundabout) have been constructed for the hotel and the multi-level car park beside it (also owned by Tinubu) by the construction company using tax/toll payers’ money. Talk about creating a personal empire. One man owning an express road and a multi-billion naira hotel.

12. The 49.4km two-phased project is to cost an outrageous N50 billion which the innocent citizens and particularly the residents and indigenous communities of Lekki, Ajah, Epe and Ibeju areas will cough out over the next 30 years while Tinubu, Fashola, Olowolafe, the Chagouris and their other collaborators and their unborn generations will be smiling to the banks. A simple arithmetic shows that cost of construction averages N1billion per 1km. This did not include the 1,000 hectares of land and other costs already incurred by the Lagos state government. This must be the most expensive road anywhere in the world! Meanwhile, there will be 3 toll plazas in a 50km stretch!

13. Already, the rehabilitation work which started in 2006 has only achieved less than 2km in over 3 years; meanwhile, the consortium has only concentrated on building the toll plazas rather than first completing the two phases for the convenience of residents. Residents in these areas spend more than 6 hours daily on the road while the situation will get worse during the coming rains. This has disrupted the lives of the citizens and no proper alternate road was constructed by the consortium.

14. The entire Lekki axis hosts millions of indigenous people who are fishermen and farmers and have occupied their lands for centuries. They are largely poor and agrarian from villages like Ajah, Badore, Elegushi, Ajiran, Sangotedo, Abijo, Ibeju, and all communities in Eti-osa, Epe and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government areas. These indigenous people along with others living in the area are now being forced to pay toll to enter and exit their fatherland.

15. These people who have been subjected to economic misfortune occasioned by seizure of their lands by this government are now been economically drained by the imposition of toll gates within their communities. There has never been any consultations with the people neither was there any environmental impact assessment before the commencement of the project.

Politics / Facts On Lekki Toll & The Tinubu Connection by aloyemeka1: 2:11am On Dec 20, 2011
THE FACTS

1. The Lekki-Epe express road was initially constructed by the Jakande administration and completed by the Mudashiru and Mike Akhigbe military administrations in 1987. The entire Lekki axis was then opened up for rapid development. Between 1985 and now, the corridor has been experiencing rapid and unprecedented urban growth as hundreds of new communities, developments and estates have developed which drew large population of low and middle income Lagosians.

2. The last administration realizing the urgent need to address the fast growing problem of road congestion conceived the idea of the expansion of the existing express road into a six-lane roadway, the construction of an alternate coastal road that will run from Ahmadu Bello way in Bar Beach, along the shores of the Atlantic ocean towards Ibeju-Lekki Local Government area. The third leg was the construction of a fourth mainland bridge, from Langbasa area near Ajah across the Lagos Lagoon to Ikorodu town and detouring somewhere to join the existing third mainland bridge thereby forming a circular road around Lagos.

3. A committee was initially set up which recommended the adoption of the PPP concept to handle the project since it was thought then that because of the magnitude of the project, the state government might have to collaborate with the private sector under a Private-Public-Participation (PPP) model to handle the project.

4. Thereafter, Tinubu’s greed took control. He floated a company-Lekki Concession Company (LCC) to handle the project as a consortium and appointed a financial advisory company ARM as the financial adviser.

5. LCC immediately asked for 1,000 hectares of prime land as the contribution of the state government to the project. This was immediately granted by Tinubu and he released the c of o within weeks for 1,000 hectares of prime at Awoyaya, Abijo, Eputu and Sapati all in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area. Part of the land is now being developed as ADIVA housing and golf course project by ARM

Str8FrmDaHips said,
6. The project was later jettisoned after obtaining the hectares of land and other payments from the state government and in its place; the rehabilitation of the existing Lekki expressway was adopted by the consortium. There is no basis for a toll road and 30 year concession arrangement for a mere rehabilitation and expansion of an existing road which the government could afford on its own.

7. Indeed, the Federal Government under President Olusegun Obasanjo wrote to Governor Tinubu in 2006, offering to construct the coastal road free of charge to Lagos and its people from the Lekki Free Trade Zone to Ahmadu Bello Way in VI. He also sent a letter of commitment written by a Chinese construction firm to that effect. Governor Tinubu firmly rejected this offer and instead opted to abandon the coastal road project which the concession was initially meant for and instead signed a 30 year concession for a toll road to his company.

8. The rehabilitation work commenced in late 2006 with the expansion and rehabilitation of the Ozumba Mbadiwe end to Mobil building and the 49.4km main Lekki road rehabilitation started in 2007 shortly after Fashola became Governor

9. By this time, Fashola’s crony-Dr Tunji Olowolafe was made chairman of LCC and the entire contract was awarded to HITECH. HITECH is owned by both the Chagouris and former Gov Bola Tinubu who is the Chairman

10. LCC was given a 30 year concession (note that all their concessions are usually 30 years) with no competitive bid, no competing quote and no professional evaluation. The whole thing was packaged by Tinubu and executed by Fashola for their own selfish interest.

Lekki Phase1 Tollgate began charging on Sunday 18th December, just a day after residents of the area protested the forceful imposition of toll by the Lagos State Govt in collaboration with Lagos Concession Company, allegedly owned by former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu.

The traffic created by this toll was unbelievable, as it took at least 45 minutes to move a distance of 50m from the toll gate through to the other side. The N120 charged vehicles made things more frustrating as it became a big challenge to give people their change. If it's this bad on a Sunday, what will happen on week days?

The toll rates charged are as follows: Motorbikes - N50. Sedans - N120. Vans/small buses/Suvs - N150. Commercial buses - N80. Light trucks and two axle buses - N250. Heavy duty trucks - N350.

Not that it's a bad thing, in fact it's highly commendable. But how do you do it in this day and age where everything is almost about sex.

Heard that gospel singer Nikki Laoye said on her wedding day, which held December 11th in Lagos, that she was a virgin bride. She and her husband decided to wait till after their wedding before having sex. Nikki is 30 years old.

Me I can't o, I'm sorry. I'm engaged to a hot dude and I won't do? Ha, life is too short abeg! lol. This my currently situation is even giving me nightmares, hahaha!

I'm absolutely not for casual sex, one night stands etc, but in a loving, serious relationship that's heading to the altar? Abeg, dude has to perform so we know whether to call off the wedding or continue as planned, lol

I had my first sexual encounter at 13. It's something I regret whatever it was. I had this aunty, though we were not related, she was just a neighbour who was living close to us, who came into my room and slept with me. She just came into my room and just forced me to do it with her. I was so young and innocent and she made me lose my innocence. It wasn't a sweet experience at all. I was very scared. I saw hell. It was a terrible experience. I am not excited talking about it at all. Sex is not that good. I think sex is overrated. The aunt who slept with me is still alive. But I haven't seen her since then."
Shame on you aunt, whoever you are!

LAGOS: Thy name is lawless
It is a jungle here

Of all the megacities in the world, Lagos has an unenviable record of being the most lawless, perhaps. New Delhi has its slums but India’s capital is also famous for its orderly traffic. Rio de Janeiro has its frightening favelas but there are no street urchins or area boys intimidating motorists and commuters. Mexico City has its murderous drug cartels but their military personnel don’t drive against traffic. Buenos Aires has its teenage terror gangs but no commercial motorcyclists (okada riders) notching up the confusion level in Argentina’s coastal capital. It is only in Lagos you’ll find an appalling combination of all these, including randomly breaking laws on a daily basis, ranging from traffic offences to environmental infractions and general disorderly behaviour. Lawless Lagos, as Saturday Sun investigations show, oftentimes end with tragic results for residents and non-residents alike… SAM ANOKAM reports.

On Tuesday, November 22, 2011, along Lagos/ Badagry Expressway between Ile Epo Bus stop and Under Bridge near International Trade Fair Complex, the normally paraplegic traffic on both sides of the route had ground to a halt. It was a little before 6pm. In the middle of the road on the right side on the way to Ojo Barracks was an articulated lorry, its windscreen smashed, the doors ajar. Loaded with flat metal sheets, there was, however, an oddity on the vehicle itself.

Lying on the metal sheets was the headless body of a pregnant woman, her liver and other barely recognizable organs spilling out of her crushed midriff. Around the vehicle and stretching on and on along the express, hundreds of onlookers stood in various stages of shock and grief; shock and grief at what some of them considered the needless slaughter of the woman.

Somewhere in the middle of the crowd her husband stood, knelt, bowed and prostrated, a perfect picture of grief and despair, both hands on his head and wailing: “God, why me? What have I done to deserve this? Why, why oh why? Why did you do this to me? I am finished. What will I tell people in the village?”
It happened that the man had gone to pick his wife from Ojota motor park hours before. The woman in question was coming to Lagos for the first time. Four months pregnant with her first baby, she had hoped to live with her husband until she was due for childbirth, after which she would go back to her village in the East. It never happened. She ended up as another victim of the lawlessness that has characterised the city od Lagos.

Eyewitness accounts said she was atop a motorbike (okada) while the husband was astride another one behind. There is a law in the state forbidding pregnant women from doing so. The same law forbids motorbikes from plying that stetch of the road – from Orile to Badagry. Apparently, she didn’t know this, being a first timer in Lagos. But the husband knew, and probably didn’t care.

After 15 Rounds Of Voting, Eboe-Osuji Emerges First Nigerian ICC Judge

December 18, 2011

After a tightly contested election which began last Monday, Nigeria's candidate in the International Criminal Court (ICC) judicial elections, Chile Eboe-Osuji, has clinched one of the six seats on the bench of the ICC.

This is the first time Nigeria will have such a high ranking position in the ICC since 2002 when the Rome Statute - the legal basis for establishing the permanent International Criminal Court - came into force.

ICC is a permanent tribunal created to prosecute individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, and from 2017, it will also start exercising jurisdiction over crime of aggression.

Eboe-Osuji, who clinched the last available slot in the fiftteenth round of voting held on Friday at the United Nations headquarters in New York after securing 102 votes, will serve for nine years as ICC judge,

Eboe-Osuji, whose nomination is on List A, garnered 34 votes in the first round of voting held on Monday, December 12, during which Trinidad and Tobago, and Philippines emerged winners with 72 and 79 votes respectively.
The two-third required majority for the first round where 104 states parties voted was 70.

In the second round of voting held on Tuesday, Nigeria had 39 votes while the two-third required majority had risen to 72 as 107 states parties participated. Czech Republic however clinched a seat in that round of voting with 77 votes.

In the third and fourth rounds with 72 and 78 as two-third required majority votes respectively, Nigeria got 41 votes in each round. No winner emerged in those two rounds.

Nigeria got 51, 52, 57 and 58 votes in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth rounds respectively but could still not meet the two-third required votes-which was hovering between 77 and 78 - to clinch a seat.

The candidate of Britain, Howard Morrison, clinched one of the two slots in the thirteenth round of voting after securing 72 votes. The candidate of France however withdrew from the contest after the fourteenth round, thereby living Nigeria to contest in the fifteenth round unpposed.

Countries whose candidates could also not secure the two-third required majority to emerge as ICC judge during the various rounds of voting include Colombia, Poland, Mexico, Cyprus, Costa Rica, Central African Republic, Niger, Burkina Faso, Sierra-Leone, Mauritius and Democratic Republic of Congo. Tunisia, another African country, withdrew before the first round of voting.

Eboe-Osuji, whose candidacy, and that of Mauritius, were endorsed by the African Union had served as Legal Advisor to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland, and also worked at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), where he served as Principal Legal Adviser to the Chambers between 2008 and 2009.

Court frees Nigerien after 10 years without trial
Written by  Ade Adesomoju

A Lagos High Court in Ikeja has ordered the unconditional release of a citizen of the Republic of Niger, Mamman Keita, who has been in custody without arraignment for more than 10 years.

Justice Habeeb Abiru, in a judgment delivered on Friday, also ordered the Attorney-General of Lagos State and the Commissioner of Police of the state to pay him N7m as damages as well as tender a public apology to him.

Abiru said, “It is hereby declared that the continuous remand of the Applicant (Keita) in prison for a period over 10 years without proper arraignment and trial in a court of competent jurisdiction is unlawful and unconstitutional and constitutes an unbridled violation of the applicant’s fundamental rights to dignity of his person, personal liberty and freedom of movement.

“The applicant is awarded the sum of N7m damages against the respondents jointly and severally for the unlawful remand of the applicant in prison for a period of 10 years.”

Forty-three-year-old Keita was charged with manslaughter at Magistrates’ Court Six, Ebute Metta, on July 23, 2001, for remand proceeding.

Keita’s counsel, Ahmed Adetola-Kazeem, had sought the enforcement of fundamental human rights of his client through a motion on notice dated October 24, 2011.

Though the court granted N7m as damages, Adetola-Kazeem had among other prayers granted by the court, asked that his client be compensated with N100m.

Abiru noted that the records of the court showed that the application was served on the two respondents – the Commissioner of Police of the Lagos State Command and the state’s Attorney-General – but that neither of them filed any formal responses.

Politics / The Niger Delta Question: An Ijaw Struggle? by aloyemeka1: 1:43am On Dec 19, 2011
The Niger Delta question: An Ijaw struggle? (1)
on DECEMBER 19, 2011 · in VIEWPOINT

BY SOLOMON ABUTOH

“For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest until her righteousness goes forth as brightness and her salvation as a lamp that burnet ‘(Isaiah 62; 1)’

The above scripture aptly describes the perspective from which this piece is being put across at this time of our national.

At independence, Nigeria’s political structure rested on a seemingly okay but fragile tripod, inform of three regions; North, West, and East. On January 15th, 1966 however, the first military putsch led by Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu set the tune for other events that were to unfold.

February 23, 1966 saw Major Isaac Adaka Boro declaring Independent Niger Delta at Akaima, a movement that was swiftly crushed by federal troops within 12 days, Boro himself got killed in the process.

The ensuing 30- month civil war occasioned by the declaration of Republic of Biafra by Lt Col Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, a declaration that had the entire Eastern States, including now Rivers, Bayelsa, and part of then Mid –West Region under its purview , saw Ojukwu putting his Oxford, Sand Hurst education, and father’s wealth in pursuit, prosecution of an apparently misunderstood but just cause.

That Col. Phillip Effiong was second in command ,and Col. Victor Banjo was one of the key commanders, meant Biafra was not an entirely Igbo affairs. Though the war ended on January 10th 1970 with” no victor no vanquished “ the very remote causes for the secessionist bid stare us starkly in the face, even today!

After the civil war and further balkanization of the nation in the name of states’ creation, all seemed calm at least on the surface. On December 20th 1996, I dispatched a letter on state of the nation to late General Sanni Abacha, a letter which apparently necessitated the “Nigeria praise” programmed through out the country for the whole of the 1997, with General Gowon coordinating.

Late Pope John Paul ll was to visit Nigeria at the instance of the Federal Government at a cost of over 900 million Naira. At the end of the day, the man Abacha still died right in his fortress! Former CSO Al-Mustapha currently standing trial in Lagos, must still recall that letter. Whether they acted well by ignoring the author of such a letter is another matter.

On October 8th 1998, I dispatched another letter to General Abdulsalami Abubakar through his cousin,Umar Abdullahai resident in Minna, warning clearly that the Niger Delta region which seemed quiet was a time- bomb set to explode. Again, the author was ignored, with the Federal government preferring to set up the Popoola commission, at a whopping cost of 15.3billion Naira, money which went down the drain!

In November 2002, I published an article on page 27 in the Global Health –Link Magazine, which dwelt on the Niger Delta situation, with emphasis on Ogoni land, Odi.Sunday, December15th 2002, on page 20 of the Punch Newspapers saw my extensive interview on the Niger Delta question.

January 1st 2003, page 32 of the Global Health -Link Magazine , in my column entitled state of the world , I made specific reference to Nigeria as the “gathering of dark clouds”. On the 10th of June 2006, page 14 of the Punch Newspapers, I had another extensive interview on the Niger Delta question (four years from the first one)
