Not forgetting that the majority of the lands today inhabited by our Muslims friends were overwhelming Christian prior to ISLAM.

Because they covet people's land and invade it just like Sadaam  invaded Kuwait. The muslim Fulani of Nigeria has invaded so many lands in Nigeria occupied by Christians in Ekiti, Kwara, Benue, Kogi, etc. They also invaded Christian Zango Kataf in kaduna after masscring thousands of them. The land they stole from the massacred Zangos are considered muslim land now and if you ever set foot there, they will impose Jizya on you. How many muslims are forced to pay Jizya or its equivalent in the Christian dominated South east and South South Nigeria?. Or is their land considered a No-MAN's land?

and what happens if you get ra.ped by the man you dont want to marry? the possibilities are three:

1.) you accept to marry him
2.) abandon him and become a "laughing stock"
3.) he goes free

show me where in the Quran it says that the vitcim must be jailed?

also, you try to run away by the usual excuse of "mosaic law" and "old testament".isn't that part of your holy bible? wasn't that inspired by the same God you believe also inspired the new testament? amazing how you people think.so your god was the "bad guy" in the old testament who became the "good guy" in the new testament?!!!so he changes his mind and is in one place "bad" and in another "good and repentant"?

So what did the quran say about rapeed women?. This lady was jailed under Islamic law?. Muhammed commanded her detention and imprisonment or are you denying that?. The only option left for her in this case is to marry the man or stay put in jail. That's how Muhammed taught his followers because women were like cattle in his opinion. So, why treat a cattle better than a human even if the human is rap.ed the cattle?.
On your good God and bad God, I don't expect you to understand the new covenant. Many stories in the old testament were events recorded and told for a reason. When David sent Uriah to the battle front so he can sleep with his wife, the bible didn't record it because Christian men are supposed to kill the men they covet their wives, rather it was told to help educate Christians. Go read the books of Isiah and Ezekiel in full, then come back lets talk.

LagosShia:

this is what your bible claims Jesus said:
Matthew 5:17
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them"

i dont expect you to understand.you believe in the fictitious and lies.

Another cheap attempt to prove stupidity by a muslim kafir. Jesus was talking about the law of the land because they thought He was trying to abolish their laws and culture. I don't expect you to understand.

you are a confused and lost soul who is hell-bent on attacking islam at all cost no matter how stu.pid you sound.the funny thing is you cant back up your claims with facts and evidence.

do you know that even in Nigeria foreigners who reside in the country also pay for residence permit apart from taxation?

so if in an islamic state, which consists of muslim lands, the right to citizenship is belonging to the land and practicing islam.if someone who happens to be different is taxed differently how does that violate his right?

assuming non-muslims are obliged to pay zakat and khums, you will still complain that muslims are forcing their religion on you.do you expect to go free with no tax paid?

Which land on earth is muslim land?. Did Muhammad create any land?. Beacuse muslims aggregate in large numbers in a particular place doesn't make the land theirs. The US for example was settled by Christian pilgrims but the land has many Christians, pagans, muslims, shintos, etc today. Should the US impose different taxes on these people because the land was settled by Christians first?. Maryland US was named after Mary the mother of Christ, so muslims who were born and raised in Maryland should be made to pay more taxes?. See the extent at which you go to simply to justify discrimination.

For your information, every immigrant pays for residence permit in every country and it is not tax my friend. Jizya is imposed on non-muslim citizens and not only immigrants because they are considered kafir. In fact, in some Islamic nations, non-muslims are happy to pay it because their lives are spared unlike in some Islamic nations that will kill you after collecting your Jizya. Ask yourself why your religion is discriminatory and until you accept that bitter truth, you shall continue to dwell in darkness, you negro kafir.

didnt you read:"he must marry the girl"? na by force!

"evil islam"? fool!

"mosaic law"? bloody fool!!! is it not the same God in the old testament that is also revered in the new testament?
Like I said before, that's Mosaic law beside, he MUST marry the girl does not equate to the girl MUST marry HIM. Because of the stigma attached to ra.ped women back in those days, rapeists are forced to marry their victims in order to avail the women from the ugly stigma that will turn her into a laughing stock. But, if the lady decides to live with the stigma and not marry the man, she is to be left alone BUT in modern day, Islam, the lady MUST marry the rapeist or stay in jail and if the rapeist decides not to marry the victim, she will forever be condemned to jail for a crime she didn't commit. Who said your Muhammad isn't fair?.

I repeat, Mosaic law is different from Christian law. Duh, Christianity means a faith based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the teachings start from the book of Mattew through Revelation; you may argue with Judaism over the issue of Mosaic law and not Christians but I don't expect you to understand it since you are bigoted.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Jizya TAXES? by aloyemeka1: 9:26pm On Dec 03, 2011
LagosShia:

where did you get 20% from?

Jizya was applied to every free adult male member of the People of the Book. Slaves, women, children, the old, the sick, monks, hermits and the poor, were all exempt from the tax, unless any of them was independent and wealthy. The tax is/was to be levied on able bodied adult males of military age and affording power,(but with specific exemptions. In return, non-Muslim citizens were permitted to practice their faith, to enjoy a measure of communal autonomy, to be entitled to Muslim state's protection from outside aggression, to be exempted from military service and the zakat taxes obligatory upon Muslim citizens.

Whether it is state taxation or mosque taxation, the bottom-line is that it abrogates equity in its entirety. In essence, non-muslims should pay for their freedom in Islamic states?. Is that why your faith brethren are massacring Christians in the North?. So Muhammad made that rule either to punish non-muslims or force them to convert to Islam?. If not, tell me why taxation should be levied differently under Islamic law?. Perhaps, blacks are levied more taxes than Arabians in sharia countries since Islam and Muhammed made many disparaging comments towards negroes. You ought to be ashamed of supporting a religion that discriminates against people based on their faith.

How will you feel if the US decides to tax you more because you are muslim?. And when you complain, Obama will say: oh it's not a Christian thing but a federal law mandated upon people who live in a country founded by Christian pilgrims?. So the Islamic way of collecting tithe is by charging the same kafir who they despise so much?. More like eating their spit shamelessly.
Before sharia will ever step foot in SW Nigeria, y'all will see me in hell. Wankers!

Iyabo Obasanjo’s Ex-Hubby Marries Again

Former husband of Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, Oluwafolajimi Akeem Bello, yesterday married his longtime girlfriend, Olajumoke Katherine Thompson.
Bello tied the nuptial knot with the woman he described as “the only woman I ever loved,” amidst tight security at the marriage registry of the Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
Husband and wife were joined together at exactly 11.58 a.m. by Mrs. Oluwakemi Hamed, a registrar at the Orile Agege LCDA, in the presence of family members and friends, including veteran highlife musician, Dr. Victor Abimbola Olaiya (OON).

The new union came almost eight years after Bello divorced Iyabo Obasanjo and mother of his only son. Bello got married to Iyabo in September 1999, few months after her father was sworn in as Nigeria’s president.
Four years later, the marriage crashed.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS after they were joined together, the couple expressed joy that they are now husband and wife.

Politics / Tinubu Thank Nigerians For The Support & Solidarity During The CCT Tribunal by aloyemeka1: 9:09pm On Dec 03, 2011
Tinubu’s Statement On Arrival In Lagos Today

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu returning to Lagos
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Lagos governor and National leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, wishes to thank millions of Nigerians, particularly, Lagosians, the teeming members of the Action Congress of Nigeria for their support and solidarity while the trial over unproven allegations of operating and maintaining foreign accounts lasted.

Most especially, Asiwaju wishes to thank Nigerians in the Diaspora whose interest in the survival of Nigeria has not waned and who followed this development closely. “I sincerely thank Nigerians, my party leaders and members, the indefatigable Nigerian media and other Nigerians for their show of solidarity while my trial lasted. I also take to heart and thank Nigerians in Diaspora whose comments and views I read online daily for their support and believe in the course of justice and fairness”.

The ACN national leader also had encouraging words for the Nigerian judiciary. “The judges in this particular case have demonstrated strong commitment to upholding the rule of law. They have displayed great courage and through this ruling they have demonstrated that the Nigerian judiciary is indeed the last hope of the common man and that in Nigeria, justice is possible”.

Speaking further on the outcome of the trail, Asiwaju promises to rededicate himself to the fight for justice, rule of law and full restoration of democratic rights to all Nigerians. “This outcome will spur me on to greater dedication and desire to do more for my country and her people. I will not relent, but press on in ensuring that Nigerians enjoy good governance and a free society.

Asiwaju believes that the dismissal of the case against him is a vindication of his position years back when the media trial began that these were unproven and politically motivated allegations meant to smear his name and reputation.  After years of media trial and attempted political lynching, the political detractors finally dragged the case to trial jumping many hoops, abusing the process and violating their own laws. “When notice of the commencement of trial was served, I did not evade service. I was ready to defend my name and most importantly blunt the dangling sword of Damocles over my head. Then, I challenged them to go to court and maintained that those who allege must prove. I am glad that the Code of Conduct Tribunal, consistent with the laws of the land and after a painstaking trial have dispensed of my case”.

However, Asiwaju Tinubu insists that the victory at the Tribunal notwithstanding, he seeks to seek further redress because of the injury caused his reputation and inflicted on his businesses and family. He maintains that his anger still lingers over the non-full disclosure of the alleged bank accounts and other details relating to the charges by the government in an effort to portray and falsely classify him as a money launder and looter of public funds. “Where and when are the transactions in these accounts operated?  What are the balances in each of these accounts? What is the ageing analysis of those balances and their sources if any?  , Tinubu queried.” The government prosecutors and some of their political leaders in their media campaign listed these accounts and made spurious allegations making it seem as if I looted public funds and stashed it away in these accounts. Yet they have failed to provide evidence to prove these weighty, yet unfounded allegations, which shows clearly at the tribunal that this was a political persecution from the very beginning”.

“The government and its lawyers in their handling of this case have revealed a crash lack of knowledge of financial rules at home and abroad thus, embarrassing me as a citizen, their own government and the country”. Tinubu further stated that wasting millions of public funds to prosecute a political vendetta is unjustifiable in a country like ours and failing to apply both the principle and doctrine of materiality; cost and benefit analysis in their so-called investigation and prosecution of this case is questionable. “I feel ashamed that the government is using a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and a costly team of attorneys to prosecute this case, thereby demonstrating lack of policy direction to develop and train hundreds of lawyers in the Ministry of justice and office of the public prosecutor. I dare ask what is the aim of outsourcing a case like this to outside lawyers with huge professional bills?

The government equally failed to employ the FOI to disclose to Nigerians how much are in these accounts and how much the government was expending to prosecute.

“I am still in consultation with my attorneys on the next plan of action. The longtime of media trial and political persecution have had toil on my businesses, my political reputation and constituted an infringement of my rights and that of my family as Nigerian citizens”. It is only a wicked system that will list minors and portray them as looters for having in their accounts amounts in the hundreds meant for their upkeep and school runs.

Asiwaju believes that greater battle for the salvation of Nigeria has just begun and he is willing and ready to join hands with all likeminded people to move Nigeria forward as a land of democracy for justice and a secured democracy.

Crime / Police Parade Killers Of Army General by aloyemeka1: 9:06pm On Dec 03, 2011
Police Parade Killers Of Army General

The police in Lagos yesterday paraded two suspects arrested in connection with the death of a retired army officer, the late Brigadier-General Umaru Jubril Uwugbe.
Uwugbe was macheted to death on 29 September, 2011 in his house at Mowo Igborosun, Badagry, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
The police identified the two suspects as Samuel Sosu, 38 and Biodun Sosube, 27, both from the Republic of Benin.
The police alleged that the suspects on 29 September, 2011, at about 5.30 p.m. sneaked into the residence of the retired army general and attacked him and his wife. Police investigation revealed that the general was macheted to death while his wife was seriously wounded. She is receiving treatment at a hospital in Lagos.
The suspects escaped after killing the general.
Samuel Sosu was, however, arrested on 24 October at Kajola Village in Ogun State after an intensive manhunt by homicide detectives.
He led the police to the hideout of his accomplice, Biodun Sosube, where he was arrested.
In his confessional statement to the police, Abiodun Sosube, a.k.a. Dogo said: “I macheted him on the right side, while my brother macheted him on the left side. He fell down and we went inside and found only N12,000.”
In his own statement to the police, Samuel Sosu denied involvement in the killing of the army general. He said the deceased was like a father to him so he could not have been involved in his death.
“The person they killed was like a father to me because he granted me favour worth N500,000. I have a farm of over 25 hectares of land and the deceased gave me 14 hectares. So, how can I kill my benefactor?” Samuel asked.
He added that at a time he had problems with land speculators, it was the late general that helped him out.
Abiodun Sosube countered him, saying that it was Sosu who led him and the runaway suspect to the general’s house. “He was the one who led us to the general’s apartment to attack him. He said the general had a lot of foreign currencies in the house and that we should kill him,” he added.

you can read about each of of these taxes.muslims do it faithfully because they are muslims.
I never said that muslims do not pay taxes but why did Muhammad introduce discriminatory taxation?. Zakat+ khums+ sadaqa will still be less than Jizya and you know it. Imagine me paying 20% Jizya on a N100k/yr income because I hate Muhammad and you paying 3% Zakat + 2% khums + 1% sadaqa on a N200k/yr income because you love Islam.

O God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I call on you today to save us from the hand of the tyrants and oppressors, who, having used our own resources to start, but not finish a road project, now want to punish us with the heavy burden of tolls which we must pay to them before we pass on a road built with the taxes of our parents.

Everlasting King of Glory, if indeed you are in Heaven, Lord come and give us victory over the oppressors of the people. Father, turn their devious wisdom into foolishness, their stolen wealth into desolation. Let the property they have stolen from us turn into curses in their lives and in the lives of their generations to come. As they feed fat from the riches they have stolen from us, let that which they eat poison their bodies. Let the doctors that treat them make mistakes as they do so.

Let desolation be their companion and grief their escort. Father, let them weep over their children, as they cause the poor to weep over their children because they cannot afford to educate them. Cause them to misbehave, to bring public disgrace upon them. Cause the eyes of the people to open, that they may see them for the evil serpents that they really are. Destroy their divinations from today, O Lord. Deliver your people from the hands of these locusts, O God. Afflict them, their households and their possesions, O God, with the plagues of Egypt. Cause all who conspire with them to rob the people to gather wealth for robbers, armed and unarmed. Dispossess them, O God, of every possession they have stolen from the people, "legally" and otherwise.

Father, once and for all, cause all their divinations, deciet, hypnotism, witchcraft and propaganda to fail from today, O Lord. Let them know that you, O Lord, are not mocked. Show them, Father, that you are not decieved. Reveal unto them that you cannot be bribed, like the unjust judges they use against the people, O Lord. Cause all who collaborate with them in their oppression of the people to gnash their teeth and weep perpetually, O Lord. This I ask in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen

Assuming I buy this explanation which you quoted in the Deut, where did the verse say the woman MUST marry the man?. Is it not the other way round?. In other words, if the woman decides not to marry the rapeist, she will be left alone?. Besides, the culture in the old testament is different because back then, repped women are seen in Israel as outcasts. That's why the law demands the men who rap`e them to marry them. Stop using MOSAIC law to support evil in Islam. There is no law in Christianity that demands a rapeist or his victim to marry each other.

40 Iddo Traders, Trucks Arrested

Officials of the Lagos State Task Force on the Environment (Enforcement) Unit and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, yesterday arrested 40 traders and impounded nine trucks at Iddo, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
The impounded trucks were found blocking the BRT lane.
Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello had last week hinted of government’s plan to launch a fresh onslaught against illegal street traders and enforce the restriction order on the illegal use of BRT lanes by motorists.
Fully armed task force officials and LASTMA officials stormed the area with a Black Maria to dislodge the traders and arrest motorists using the BRT lane.
Sighting the officials, there was pandemonium as traders packed their wares to escape being arrested. Fourty of them were arrested and hauled into the Black Maria. They were taken to the task force office at Alausa, Ikeja for prosecution at the special court.
P.M.NEWS gathered that in the last two weeks, the recalcitrant traders had returned to the area on more than two occasions to continue trading after task force officials had dislodged them.
When P.M.NEWS contacted the chairman of the taskforce, Superintendent Bayo Sulaiman on the raid, he confirmed that 40 traders were arrested and nine trucks impounded in the area, adding that the taskforce would continue to monitor the area to ensure that illegal traders did not return.
According to him, the order to clear Iddo of street trading was from Governor Babatunde Fashola who was not happy with the filthy environment when he passed through the area.
Sulaiman said yesterday’s raid was the third time taskforce officials would be raiding the area. “The traders are fond of returning after the officials had gone. From now, we will continue to monitor the area to ensure that they do not come back again,” he assured.
Sulaiman said the 40 traders would be charged to court for degrading the environment. He added that the nine trucks impounded had been handed over to LASTMA officials while their owners would have to pay the necessary fines before the trucks would be released to them.

on DECEMBER 2, 2011 · in SPECIAL REPORT

Literary icon Prof Chinua Achebe has promised to roll out some of the most sophisticated insights on Biafra and Ojukwu and his role in Biafra as a benefitting tribute to the ex Biafran leader.

In a statement through his son Chidi to Saturday Vanguard, the message said, “We must be patient and wait for Prof Achebe’s new book There was a country: A personal history of Biafra which you will see contains some of the most sophisticated analysis and insights on Biafra, Ojukwu and his role in Biafra. I can think of no more fitting tribute than telling the truth about Biafra for posterity.”

Indeed, the three great personalities of the war had met at the Chinua Achebe Colloquium last year. They were Ojukwu, Achebe described as the most articulate of the civil war and Wole Soyinka who was jailed in Nigeria for negotiating peace with Biafra by then head of state Gen Yakubu Gowon.

In the United Kingdom, and elsewhere, memorial websites have been opened for Ojukwu. One of the sites is in the UK listing areas necessary for the memorial, its links to news on Ojukwu and Igbo among others.

In the USA, Prof. Olu Oguibe one the most influential artists and art historians from Africa, has designed a memorabilia for Ojukwu and is on sale on eBay. On his facebook wall, Oguibe wrote, “ I’ve just made these for those who’d like to wear our pride and grief on the sleeve! Wish I could make them more special, but I’m way too busy at the moment with deadlines and last minute changes to God’s Transistor Radio. Buttons are available now on eBay for those living in the contiguous US. For compatriots and friends elsewhere (Nigerians, Biafrans, Africans, Others), hopefully you can find one where you live.”
Also on Facebook, several groups doing one thing or another have come up, all displaying Ojukwu and his life or using the Biafra images. In fact, many African and Nigerian websites are abuzz with accounts and news of Ojukwu. It is perhaps the biggest thing on the internet today.

omobadan:

Why are people antagonising the move? At least, they're getting them off the unemployment queue. They'll be getting paid won't they? Let's be optimistic sometimes as a people. We have to learn how to be patient and see where whatever initiatives the government has come up with, will go. We can't continue to be negative all the time!

Don't mind them as if they have jobs for those who gained the employment.

ABUJA—THE House of Representatives, yesterday, rejected President Goodluck Jonathan’s planned proposal to remove oil subsidy by January 2012.

The legislators rejected the proposal during the consideration of the report on the Fiscal Strategy Paper submitted to the National Assembly by President Jonathan.

They averred that the proposal was premature, just as they called on the President to source funds to finance items for the deficit expected in the 2012 budget.

While considering the report of the Joint Committee on Finance, Appropriation, Legislative Budget and Research, National Planning and Economic Development, the members also tasked the President to be cautious in the implementation of its Public Private Partnership, PPP, policy.

They observed that rushed implementation of the PPP could lead government to abandon its social responsibilities to Nigerians.

The legislators held that PPP should be restricted to specialized areas where the private sector has comparative advantage and expertise to deliver results.

Islam for Muslims / Jizya TAXES? by aloyemeka1: 11:33pm On Dec 02, 2011
Does Islam require people of other faiths to pay money to support the Muslim religion?.

Muhammad very clearly established that people of other religions have to pay a poll tax to Muslims called the jizya, as a reminder of their inferior status.  This abrogates an earlier verse stating that there is "no compulsion in religion" and destroys any pretense that Islam is merely a religion and not a political system.
If Jizya is quranic, could that be why Nigerian muslims are fighting for Islamic bank so as to use our common wealth to finance it?

Qur'an (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Outrageous! Afghan Woman To Be Freed From Jail After Agreeing To Marry Her Rapist

A 19yr old Afghan woman, Gulnaz, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for adultery after relatives discovered the unmarried lady was pregnant. (It's a crime in Afghanistan to have sex outside of marriage). Gulnaz told authorities that her cousin's husband had raped, and made her pregnant and that she had tried to fight him off on the night he attacked her. The alleged rapist, who was also arrested and locked up for adultery, denied it was rape.

Gulnaz in prison with her young son

After Gulnaz incarceration, the EU and other world human rights organizations got involved and called on the Afghan president to release the rape victim. Yesterday Thursday December 1, Afghan President Hamid Karzai pardoned Gulnaz, on the condition that she will marry her attacker.

Gulnaz had initially refused a judge's offer of freedom if she agreed to marry the rapist. She changed her mind because she didn't want her child, who had been born in prison, to grow up in prison. And also because that was the the only way to bring peace between her, her family and her rapists family, as she is said to have brought shame to both families.

About half of the 300 to 400 women jailed in Afghanistan are imprisoned for so-called "moral crimes" such as sex outside marriage, or running away from their husbands, according to reports by the United Nations and research organizations.
