So much that some of them decided to take up arms against fellow xtrian crusaders in defence of muslim lands
Please stop twisting history and get us facts. If that is the case, why are present Christians not interested in living under the "JUSTNESS" of muslim rulers?. Do I want to live under the rulership of Ahmedinejad? |

Man Sent To Prison For Failure To Marry Lover A 35-year old man who fraudulently obtained money and engaged a woman in marathon sex under the false pretence of marrying her has been arraigned before the Oshodi Magistrates’ Court, Lagos Southwest Nigeria, and remanded in prison custody at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prisons, Apapa for fraud. The man, Amaechi Odife who was deported from the United States of America, the police prosecutor alleged, promised to buy a car and take his lover, Ginikachi Adika, to the United States of America, if she will sleep with him and marry him. Unknown to Adika, Odife was jobless and recently deported from the US. She reportedly accommodated him and they started living together in Adika’s house at 7, Amusa Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos. The woman, living on false hope, gladly accepted the offer and started spending her money on Odife and engaged in sex with him. The woman became anxious when the accused refused to introduce any of his relations to her for them to organise a wedding. Odife later took her to a prophet who prophesised to them that God said that they should not live as husband and wife. The embittered woman discovered after five months of living together that Odife was deported and jobless and had no plans of going back to the US, talkless of taking her along. Angered by Odife’s behavior, Adika went to the Makinde Police Station and reported what happened. Odife was arrested and charged to court under sections 419 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria. When the matter came up at the court, he pleaded not guilty and the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Osho Adebiyi granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety. The matter has suffered two adjournments because the complainant refused to show up in court to testify against the accused. — Cyriacus Izuekwe http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/12/06/man-sent-to-prison-for-failure-to-marry-lover/ |
Budget 2012: Lagos Lawmakers Query Fashola’s Plan To Borrow Money Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have raised concerns over moves by the Babatunde Fashola-led administration to go to the bond market to fund the 2012 budget. Some of the lawmakers who spoke on the floor of the Assembly yesterday queried the rationale behind going to the market to secure a bond to cover the budget considering the debt profile of the state. They also questioned the continued existence of some parastatals and agencies of government which some of them described as moribund and no longer have value in the socio-economic strides of the state. The lawmakers also raised concern over the money allocated to some parastatals and agencies of the state government that were created to generate revenue for the state. They claimed that while the government has continued to assist these agencies and parastatals with subventions, the agencies and parastatals have always consumed 100 percent of the revenue they make annually. They alleged that some of these agencies do not even make returns to the state coffers, even though they make money. Some of them suggested that henceforth, such parastatals and agencies should be made to sustain themselves. Bayo Oshinowo, one of the lawmakers, particularly protested against the provision of N39 billion for the Lagos State Broadcasting Corporation, which operates the state television and radio (LTV and Radio Lagos). According to him, the two stations get a lot of sponsored programmes daily. They also get advertisements from the public and as a result, do not need such an amount as subvention since they could generate enough money to sustain themselves. Arguing further, the lawmaker said if the station was privately owned, it would be declaring profits just like other private media houses in the state. Another lawmaker, Mudashiru Obasa, said though the governor meant well, the sub-committees should look critically at the agencies and their sources of revenue, especially at this period when the issue of austerity has become a policy of the state government. According to him, “Some of the agencies generate more than enough to sustain them, but we have not been giving adequate attention to this.” He maintained that this area must be addressed as they look into the appropriation bill. He said there is a pending bill before the National Assembly which when passed into law may affect the revenue received from the federal government. “We have more than enough control over the revenue generation process in the state and we must start to use them. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/12/06/budget-2012-lagos-lawmakers-query-fashola%E2%80%99s-plan-to-borrow-money/ |

They gathered in front of the Nigeria House to express their displeasure over the bill which will not become law until its passage by the House of Representatives and assented by President Goodluck Jonathan. If it becomes law as passed by the senate, offenders will get up to 14-year jail sentence. One of the organisers of the event, Ifeanyi Orazulike, presented a petition with 57 signatures to the Nigerian Consulate. The petition addressed to the President reads: “My name is Ifeanyi Orazulike, and I am not illegal. “As a Nigerian citizen, and a public health advocate, I call upon you to stop the draconian, anti-human rights, anti- HIV/AIDS prevention and un-democratic legislation just passed by the national Senate. “If this bill is approved, Nigeria will place itself outside the community of democratic nations, in a moment in which the country is facing serious internal and external anti-democratic threats. The implications of the bill with its recent modification would affect tireless and long years of work in the protection and promotion of human rights, HIV/AIDS prevention, and the entrenchment of democracy in our country. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/28792-nigerian-man-loving-men-protest-same-sex-bill-in-new-york.html |
