Walaykum salam @beta things. I 100%understand and agree with your point of view.
No you don't. You need to grow balls and brains for once so as to emancipate yourself from these randy muslim men who believes you can be compared to a cattle. What is wrong with muslim women?. Do they trade your mind in that mosque?

After observing what is going on around the world pertaining to Islam, like terrorism, violence towards women, al majiri, mu'tah marriage, etc.  Have you ever had a double mind on whether to abandon Islam  or whether the whole religion is mythical due to loop holes?. What was it that made you reconsider your stance on Islam?.Presently, can you claim to be a muslim because you want to or because your family lured you into it and you cannot disappoint them by abandoning the religion? .Please vote.

Araboy:
When you live in environment as Muslim it is really important to be able to take a critical distance and not react so

emotionally you need to held tight to your Islamic principles and not to compromise your faith for any reason

but also to  be wise enough not to overreact to provocation from some lonely silly people

The way  both those characters are repeatedly insulting our Beloved Prophet is outrageous and unfair

your way of opening a debate or critic on an emotional ground is in fact a way to close the door on rational discourse

more you insult our Prophet more we will hate you and lose respect for you one may say there is no legal limit to free

speech but there  are civic and moral limits such behavior from your part will only enflames emotions it does not court reason it

is useless provocation what both of you guys aim here to polarize NLders or to build bridges ?

How does one of you imagine that an average Muslim like me very westernized   who opposes terrorism and extremism will react seeing the

Prophet depicted  and insulted ? do you expect me to reward you by being kind to you ? do you expect me to add you on my FB

or YM ? after both you failed the  basic test of friendship  by burning the bridge of understanding tolerance and respect

Any Muslim here who still has any relation with any of you should check himself / herself and rethink his association

I can be friend with non Muslims include atheists as long as  there is respect  but never with My  Prophet bashers

Do I go insulting both of you your priests religion and congregation because I am free to do it and can do it in very personal

and hurting way ? No !! it is called civil responsibility which both of you are lacking
So atheists, naysayers, Christians, etc are not allowed to ask questions pertaining to your religion without being labeled a hater?. Have you read Christians here write long epistles b/c someone is asking sensitive question about Christianity?. All I demand for you muslims is to start respecting women and denounce Muhammad's notion that women should be compared to a cattle.

17 Nigerian firms invest N325bn in Ghana

Written by Nan Friday, 11 November 2011 05:00

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre said yesterday that 17 registered firms owned by Nigerians have so far invested $1.5 billion (about N325 billion) in the Ghanaian economy.

Mr George Aboagye, Chief Executive Officer of the agency, disclosed this while presenting the investment opportunities in Ghana at the ongoing 2011 Lagos International Trade Fair.

Aboagye said the investments were those recorded between September 1994 and June 2011.

He said that the investments were expected to grow by $500 million (about N75 billion) by 2015.

He said the investments were in agriculture, manufacturing, building, liaison services, tourism and the general and export trade sectors of Ghana’s economy.

Aboagye said Nigeria was his country’s 5th and 6th largest source of investment in terms of value and number of projects registered.

He said the relations between the two countries had been very warm, cordial and beneficial.

“Ghana is richly endowed with human and natural resources.

“These resources present numerous business opportunities in oil and gas, agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, energy and property development,” Aboagye said.

He said the priority sectors for investment in Ghana were oil and gas, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, ICT and financial services.

Aboagye said that Nigerians had the high kind of entrepreneurship that Ghana looked up to.

“Whenever a Nigerian comes to do business, the knowledge and experience he brings always proved very useful to us in Ghana,” he said.

Aboagye listed investment incentives to include custom duties exemption for plants, machinery, equipment, graduated and reasonable corporate taxes and tax holidays ranging from five to 10 years.

“Other incentives include relief from double taxation, location incentives of between 25 and 50 per cent tax rebates for manufacturing companies and automatic immigrant quotas, depending on the paid up capital.”

The theme of the trade fair is: “Increasing competitiveness of Nigerian products in the global market.’’ (NAN)

Mamman Nasir

You retired from being the President of the Court of Appeal a few years ago and now you are back in Malumfashi, how has life been?
I retired comparatively long ago in 1992 and I was in the Court of Appeal since its inception when the idea of getting the court materialised, it’s the beginning of the Murtala regime, we were appointed, a few of us, to the Supreme Court.

At the time, Justice Daniel Ibekwe from Onitsha was the Attorney General, but he was a justice of the Supreme Court, when the decree was made, establishing the Court of Appeal. Two of us decided to leave the Supreme Court and go down to the Court of Appeal.

You and who?
Me and Justice Ibekwe, we were both then in the Supreme Court, Igbokwe from Onitsha and the two of us were sworn in, in December 1976 and the other justices were sworn in January 1977. That was the beginning of the Court of Appeal. Now, Ibekwe my good friend, we were in politics together, he was always with the President, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, and I was always with the Premier North, or the Prime Minister. So, on many occasions, we continued to fight politically and then later in the evening three of us would be together. The third one was Bola Ige who was with Chief Obafemi Awolowo. We were all of different political parties, but we were friends; we could discuss politics, take decisions according to what our leaders had decided, but socially we had always been friends.

So, Ibekwe and I went to the Court of Appeal together. Unfortunately, in 1978 he died but I was so close to him. When he opened the Kaduna branch, I was sent to Kaduna. That was his confidence in me. So, we enjoyed our stay together. Then after service in the Court of Appeal, this office came, of being the Galadiman Kaduna, which is one of the big chiefs under Kaduna Emirate and I was mentioned to be appointed. People like General Babangida, General Sani Abacha were all in support of my candidature. God willing, I was appointed Galadiman since 1992. Then I decided to retire before my retiring age.

You retired before you were statutorily appointed to retire. Why?
Because I thought I had done about 15 years there (Appeal Court). You don’t have to stay in service until the last minute or wait to be pushed out.

You just retired, you just decided it was time for you to go?
On my own, after getting the title in the office, I thought I should go home; I should come back and live here. So, I had to retire because I couldn’t combine being a serving justice and being under the Emir of Kaduna. Since then, I have been here.

And this house, one would have expected you to be living in a well-appointed, modern house. And here you are, once a top public official for many decades and a Nigerian – if you know what I mean – living in such ancient, mud house. Why did you choose to punish yourself this way?

That is part of the trouble of we Nigerians; we believe unless you live in a sky-scraper with air-conditioners all over, you are not a big man; you are not an honourable man, you are not anything. But, if you believe your culture is new, then go to a new house. If you want to live with your people with your culture, please, try to live with them – their own level, their own status, if possible below them in your accommodation, in what you are and so on. If you want to succeed, even in politics – which unfortunately is not happening nowadays – if you want to succeed, belong to the people; you know what they say about “the man of the people.” If you actualise it, it works.

They Are Fighting Over A Man

Saturday, 22 October 2011

These two actresses are in the Yoruba sector of Nollywood. They may be popular faces in the home videos, but they are not really spectacular though in acting and not many would even recognise them at the mention of their names. But according to Amebos, they are trying in their own little ways.

The two actresses have two things in common. One, the two of them are on the large side and also fair-skinned, but Olofofos said their fair-skins were aided by bleaching creams. The two of them also tattooed their bodies, while one is in the habit of putting an earring on her nose.

Anyway, Amebos said these two actresses, who used to be best of friends are now sworn enemies, no thanks to a man whose interest is the subject of their discord. The bubble, according to Olofofos, burst when one of the actresses saw the other actress’ phone with the picture of this man as the wall paper on the phone.

On enquiry from the other actress, she was told that the man is her boyfriend and to which she asked the other actress if she was not aware that she was going out with the man. The argument, Amebos recalled, became heated and almost turned into a fisticuffs, before the two were separated and both left in annoyance.

It’s Unbelievable, But I’ve Never Cheated On My Wife - Rykardo Agbo

Saturday, 01 October 2011

Rykardo Agbo has been in Nollywood for over 17 years and has contributed tremendously to its growth in both Yoruba and the English sectors. The model cum actor, who hails from Cross River State speaks with Adunola Fasuyi on many issues in the movie industry. Excerpts:

Some people are of the opinion that before you got married, you were really into women, is that true?
Oh, that is wrong. I think you will be the first person to say that. If they say I was always seen around women, they should be able to say which one it is.

https://tribune.com.ng/sat/images/stories/feb2010/akardo%202.jpg

Are you saying you are not into women?
Before I got married, I was not ‘that into women’. I was always seen among guys. Since I met my woman, she has been the only woman in my life till date. I am not trying to boast, but I have never had a scandal since I got into the movie industry. Nobody will ever tell you that about me. I can tell you unequivocally that I am scandal-free.

So, what you are saying is that women were not in your agenda then?
When I was still in school, I had a lot of time for that, but when I left school, I did not see it as a way of relaxation. I had many girlfriends when I was in school, but when I started acting, I was never into women because I met my wife then.

Is it that you lost the magic wand that worked wonders on women?
I did not. I met a girl that I eventually married and did not have time to start chasing other women because she is all I needed in a woman.

So, you are a very principled man, very true to your words?
I try to as much as I can to be very principled.

Tell us the secret to your scandal-free status.

How Nollywood actor was attacked by thugs – Ayo Badmus
on NOVEMBER 12, 2011 · in HOME VIDEO PEOPLE

Note: This story contains a graphic photo some may consider offensive.

By OPEOLUWANI AKINTAYO
Notable Yoruba actor, Ayo Badmus will not forget in a hurry the just concluded Salah celebration as it was the day he was beaten black and blue by a group of hoodlums suspected to be political thugs at Oshodi area of Lagos.

The group was said to be working for the chairman of Oshodi Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Ayo-Badmus (insert: his head after the attack)
Insiders said the actor accompanied by his wife and his young brother went to pay ace- cinematographer, Tunde Kelani and family a visit during the Salah holidays when the unexpected happened.

HVP’s investigation revealed that the actor arrived Kelani’s house located at Feyinde Kalisto, Oshodi around 7.30 pm. He said to have been greeted with the spirit of the celebration as their was a lavishing party already going on within the neighborhood.

Leveraging on his popularity, Ayo decided to exchange pleasantries with the residents of the area who he met at the place. His attempt to exchange handshake with the Chairman, Oshodi Local Government Area whom he sighted from afar earned him the beaten of his life. A brother to the Oshodi LGA boss was said to have taken offence when the visiting actor, who was expected to prostrate before the LGA chairman stretched his hands to shake the former.

Unsatisfied with the cold reception accorded to him, the actor made to walk away as the said brother to the LGA boss continued to abuse his sensibility, referring however to Nollywood stars as being useless and stupid set of people.

As if that was not enough, Ayo allegedly was said to have been astounded when thugs numbering about twenty approached him armed with dangerous weapons. And before he knew what was happening, they descended on him, beating him black and blue to the chagrin of his host. Worse still, the said brother to the politician joined the thugs in the assault as he was said to have landed the actor a hot slap across his face.

The Oshodi LGA Chairman was said to have showed indifference while the incident lasted. It was also gathered that the two armed policemen who were his guards did nothing to arrest the situation either.

Confirming the incident to HVP, during the week when he contacted on telephone, Ayo who has featured in several Yoruba films described the attack as unfortunate.’

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/11/how-nollywood-actor-was-attacked-by-thugs-ayo-badmus/

He said he’s sustained serious injuries resulting from the dangerous weapons the hoodlums used on him. At the moment, the actor is carrying bandage rounded his head.

Hera him: It’s true that I was beaten and almost killed by the thugs guarding the Chairman of Oshodi L.G.A. My wife, my brother and myself went to pay a courtesy to my boss, Tunde Kelani on the Salah day. When we got there, I went round to greet people and when I got to where the Oshodi L.G.A Chairman sat, I wanted to shake him when his brother said I ought to have prostrated.

The actor tells Vanguard exactly what happened to him on that unfortunate day during the Sallah holidays.
It’s true that I was beaten and almost killed by the thugs guarding the Chairman of Oshodi L.G.A. My wife, my brother and myself went to pay a courtesy to my boss, Tunde Kelani on the Salah day. When we got there, I went round to greet people and when I got to where the Oshodi L.G.A Chairman sat, I wanted to shake him when his brother said I ought to have prostrated.I didn’t reply him even when he started insulting me, saying actors are silly and useless. I made to leave when suddenly, I saw a group of thugs, numbering up to  twenty  pounced on me and started beating me up.
They broke bottles on my head, kicked me and almost killed me if not for my wife, brother and other people who came to my rescue.I’ve done a lot for the Lagos State Government even without being paid. Why should I then be treated in such a manner like a criminal?  What the Chairman of Oshodi Local Government and his brother did was wrong. They are public servants and should be polite. I never met them before in my life. Neither did I involve myself in any kind of politics. That day was the first time, I set my eyes on them. They probably felt intimidated by my presence and the way people around hailed me.

Detroit prayer event puts Muslim community on edge
By JEFF KAROUB - Associated Press | AP – 42 mins ago

DETROIT (AP) — A group that counts Islam among the ills facing the nation began a 24-hour prayer rally Friday evening in an area with one of the largest Muslim communities in the United States.

The gathering at Ford Field, the stadium where the Detroit Lions play, is designed to tackle issues such as the economy, racial strife, same-sex relationships and abortion. But the decade-old organization known as TheCall has said Detroit is a "microcosm of our national crisis" in all areas, including "the rising tide of the Islamic movement."

Leaders of TheCall believe a satanic spirit is shaping all parts of U.S. society, and it must be challenged through intensive Christian prayer and fasting. Such a demonic spirit has taken hold of specific areas, Detroit among them, organizers say. In the months ahead of their rallies, teams of local organizers often travel their communities performing a ritual called "divorcing Baal," the name of a demon spirit, to drive out the devil from each location.

"Our concern is that we are literally being demonized by the organizers of this group," said Dawud Walid, executive director of Council on American-Islamic Relations' Michigan chapter, which last week urged local mosques and Islamic schools to increase security. "And given the recent history of other groups that have come into Michigan , we're concerned about this prayer vigil stoking up the flames of divisiveness in the community."

TheCall is the latest and largest of several groups or individuals to come to the Detroit area with a message that stirred up many of its estimated 150,000 to 200,000 Muslims. Recent visitors have included Florida pastor Terry Jones; members of the Westboro Baptist Church; and the Acts 17 Apologetics, missionaries who were arrested for disorderly conduct last year at Dearborn's Arab International Festival but were later acquitted.

As with many other Christian groups, TheCall and its adherents believe Jesus is the only path to salvation. While they consider all other religions false, they have a specific focus on Islam, largely in response to the Sept. 11 attacks, terrorism overseas and fear that Islam, which is also a proselytizing faith, will spread faster than Christianity.

FG approves military operations in six North-East states

Seventy-two hours after the Federal Government said it had security measures to counter the Boko Haram insurgency in Yobe State, facts have emerged that it had ordered the establishment of military joint task force in each of the six states in the North-East and other adjoining states.

https://www.punchng.com/media/k2/items/cache/dac8d5e839328b413349aaa1385858c8_M.jpg

The National Security Adviser, Gen Owoeye Azazi (rtd.) had on Monday talked tough, while reacting to a US advisory to its nationals to avoid three hotels in Abuja, following alleged Boko Haram threat.

Azazi had said, "Security agencies have emplaced (put in place) adequate counter- measures to secure lives and property."

States in the North-East zone considered to be haven for the Islamic fundamentalist sect are Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Adamawa.

Under the new counter-offensive compass also are Kaduna and Niger states, where bombings attributed to the sect occurred some months ago. It was learnt that JTF presence in these states was at the behest of President Goodluck Jonathan, after he presided over a top security meeting, in the wake of the Yobe mayhem.

Casualties from the Yobe attacks on the eve of the last Sallah were considered the highest so far since the Boko Haram challenge took the country by storm early this year.

The NSA had said, "The US statement is eliciting unhealthy public anxiety and generating avoidable tension.

PoliticsI Defecated In My Trousers When I Heard The Sound Of Bombs — Corps Member by aloyemeka4(op): 1:09am On Nov 12, 2011
I defecated in my trousers when I heard the sound of bombs—Corps member
By Duku JOEL, Damaturu 26 minutes ago

THE tragedy that has been the lot of Maiduguri, Borno State capital, also hit Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, last weekend. The dreaded Boko Haram, which had held Maiduguri by the jugular, also invaded its otherwise sedate neighbour, Damaturu.

And by the time the dust settled, the story became one of a long stretch of agony and wailings.
The dreaded sect during the operation bombed the state Police Headquarters along Gujba road and some buildings at the 300 housing units along Maiduguri road where the anti -terrorism operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF) have their offices.

The explosions, which occurred in the twilight hours of Friday, November 4, 2011, completely changed the expectant air of joy of the residents who were already in high spirit for their last Sallah preparation into that of fear, panic and despair.
Many families never saw each other that day after the sect struck; those who stuck together had to contend with the safety and cries of their children and their loved ones.
“It was catastrophic. Wallahi, I thought it was the end of the hour because I have never heard such a disturbing blast before,” Sani, who spoke to our reporter on phone, said.
A youth corps member narrated that he never knew that he excreted inside his trousers until the next day.

“I purged in my trousers when the bombs started exploding at the Federal Secretariat, but I never knew until the following day when I did not hear gunshots again because I live behind the Federal Secretariat.

“I even missed my way; instead of going inside YTV premises, I saw myself going back to the secretariat where the bombs were exploding. It is still a miracle how I escaped,” the corps member, who identified himself simply as Adebayo, said.
“An elder in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, who pleaded anonymity, also narrated his ordeal: “We had just finished a programme in the church that evening and I asked my wife to go to the house with the children (pointing to his house in the church premises).

“I stayed behind to arrange some things and lock up the church when I heard a huge bang. The sound came from the Assemblies of God Church. I quickly rushed out of the church to the house and told my wife to move out of the church premises with the children, that something terrible was happening.
“By the time we came out of the gate of the church, there was shooting everywhere. I did not see my wife and children until the following day. I did not even know where there were. We both ran in opposite directions. My heart kept thumbing each time there was an explosion.”

P.M.NEWS gathered that the light silver green Hyundai Tucson Sport Utility Vehicle with registration number RU 619 AAA belongs to an Indian national, Samgee F. Aswaw, a friend to the chairman of the company where the suspect, Turaki works as a logistics officer.
Investigations revealed that the suspect who was known as the Beautiful One during his cult days at UNILAG, removed the car where it was parked at the car park at LSDPC building, Victoria Island, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
Turaki allegedly drove the car to Benue State with a view to selling it to Mallam Hassan who said he could not buy the car because he does not like it.
Turaki then promised to look for another buyer for the car.
But before he could get a buyer, Turaki got a call from the police in Lagos that his sister and other family members have been arrested and detained at Bar Beach Police Station in Lagos Island over the missing Hyundai car.
When he received the call, Turaki reported at the police station, and he was arrested, and detained for about a week. The vehicle was later recovered from Benue State.
It was learnt that the suspect refused to cooperate with his interrogators because they knew him at Bar Beach Police Station as an impersonator who had paraded himself as a lawyer.
Turaki was later transfered to SARS, where he later allegedly confessed to the crime.
He was reported to have confessed to belonging to cult group and was expelled from the university because of his involvement in cult activities.
An officer at SARS told P.M.NEWS that the suspect may be arraigned in court soon, after the completion of police investigation.

A staff of Lagos Television, Oluwafemi Adelere, has slumped and died. He was the 10th staff to have died this year.

•The late Adelere

Adelere died in the early hours of Monday after he was said to have slumped in the bathroom at his residence around Ketu area of Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
The deceased was said to be hale and hearty on the eve of his demise as he was bubbling with life on Sunday.
Some staff of the television station told P.M.NEWS that Adelere even supervised the sharing of goodies from the Turkish Embassy as Sallah package to senior staff of the company on the eve of his death.
“He was not sick. He even shared the rams given to the station by the Turkish Embassy to the beneficiaries on Sunday. He went home after that and the following day he was said to be taking his bath in the bathroom when he complained of hotness of the body and slumped in the bathroom and died immediately,” a staff of the station told P.M.NEWS under the condition of anonymity.
There was absolute gloominess at the premises of the television station on Tuesday when the news of Adelere’s death was announced to the staff. Some could not believe it because they saw the deceased two days earlier, hale and hearty.
The deceased was buried on Wednesday at his home town, Ilaro, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, while his wife is said to be pregnant.
Staff of the station became agitated and worried because before Adelere’s death, nine staff had died this year while at least four passed on last year.
Those who died this year are Idowu Olaniyan, Duncan Ofili, Ganiyu Bakare, Yeye Sijuade, Tutu Badmus, who died while giving birth; Joke and two drivers.
In 2010, at least four staff were said to have died at the station. Two of them are Toun Adeloye and Saka Atobatele, who was crushed by a trailer while on a motorbike.
“The strange thing about the nine staff that died this year was that they always come to the office hale and hearty on the eve of their death and later go home to die. As a result of these incessant deaths, pastors and Imams were invited to render prayers at the company to stop it.
“Founder of Mountain of Fire and Prayer Ministry, MFM, Dr. Daniel Olukoya sent two prayer warriors from the church to pray in our office against these incessant deaths. Pastors from Christ Apostolic Church and Celestial Church have also come to pray against untimely deaths.

CrimeRe: Nigerian Murdered In Washington DC Over 75 Cents by aloyemeka4: 12:55am On Nov 12, 2011
He wasn't killed over 75cents. You guys need to stop making fun of people's misfortune. His passenger robbed him and shot him after because he didn't want him to live and describe him besides, who told you he was shot by African American?. The article said the assailant is a black man and as far as I am concerned, he could be Nigerian/African, carribean, African American, European or whatever.

At the final destination, she told police the driver asked for an additional $7.75. She gave him $5 and Slye $2, but the driver and Slye began arguing over the remaining 75 cents. She told police she got out of the cab and walked away, asking Slye to come with her, but he continued to argue with the cabbie. A witness at Ponds Street told police to have overheard a man in the cab saying loudly “Give me my $20 back,” then demanding to be led out of the cab. The witness told police a black man got out of the back seat with a silver handgun, telling the driver to get out of the car.

The driver got out and lay down on the ground, telling the gunman he didn’t have any money. The gunman, the witness said, went through the driver’s pockets, where he apparently found some money. The witness told police it seemed as if the suspect tried to shoot the driver once but the gun didn’t fire.

The driver took off his pants to prove that he didn’t have any money with him. The suspect told the driver to get back into the cab. He then fired one shot and ran off toward Anacostia Avenue, the witness said.

Ezirike, still alive, was able to reverse the car toward Anacostia Avenue. His cell phone showed a 911 call shortly before 3:30 a.m. Through GPS, the taxi company was able to determine that Ezirike picked up his last customer at the Morgan Boulevard Metro station in Landover.

The number used to order the cab was also used to call someone in the 1500 block of Anacostia Avenue. Police searched that address under a warrant and found the cell phone and a blue jacket the witness at Ponds Street had described. Ezirike’s wallet was found behind that building.

Mushin, one of the thickly populated and highly commercialised communities in Lagos, is often in the news, in most cases for the wrong reasons. This is because it is said to be notorious for harbouring crime and criminals, apart from it being prone to frequent outbreak of violence.

In Mushin, hooliganism and cultism are common, a reason for which the community has become a breeding ground for street urchins and hoodlums.

The Oju-Irin area of Mushin after the incident

In the past few months, its notoriety seemed to have reached an alarming level as residents no longer sleep with their eyes closed, no thanks to sporadic shootings by warring criminal elements. Last weekend, for instance, Muslim faithful in the area celebrated the yearly Ed-El Kabir amidst fear as they were kept virtually indoors by sporadic gun shots that rocked some parts of the area for three days.

Preparation for the festival

On the eve of the festival which was Saturday November 5, the gun shots were first heard around Ojuwoye area, at a time when preparation for the festival was at its peak. Areas such as Railway Line, Odi-Olowo, Ojuwoye, Awoyokun, Idera, and Akala were then agog for the Sallah celebration before sporadic gunshots shattered the prevailing peace there; this was in the later part of the day. Expectedly, this brought about panic and pandemonium as people ran for cover, bringing all activities to a standstill.

A car wash operator, Mr. Taiwo Akinjobi, who told Vanguard Metro, VM, he had a narrow escape from death, said cars were vandalised while shops and offices were looted before the arrival of security operatives who made some arrests. Residents had sighed with relief following the arrests and many of them who had planned to travel stayed back not knowing the Saturday scene was a tip of an ice berg.

On Sunday, the return of relative peace prompted many residents to dine and wine at convenient street corners, with musical shows in place and beer parlor owners doing brisk business. That was after the Muslims among them came back from the praying grounds. But suddenly, there came gun shots from different directions, though first noticed around the Ojuwoye area. Although no life was lost, but several people were injured, while several properties were destroyed.

This spilled over to Monday, as a result of which many endured sleepless nights while the trouble lasted; others made hasty plans to vacate the area.

When VM visited Mushin on Sunday and Monday, there were different eyewitness accounts of the incident. While some said it was an offshoot of a problem in the past, others said it was political. “Some streets urchins were sponsored to make the area ungovernable,’’ said a trader, Madam Precilia Aganga and Ebunoluwa Oladimeji both residents of Mosalasi.

A law enforcement agent who spoke on condition of anonymity simply said the incident was based on a revenge mission by ‘Akala Boys’ who took the law into their hands. “Many residents are aware of this,’’ he said.

Meantime, residents have appealed to government to urgently restore sanity in the area.

CelebritiesRe: Jim Iyke Allegedly Duped Woman Of N15m As Investor In Clothing Line by aloyemeka4: 12:31am On Nov 12, 2011
How is this a fraud?. She invested in a business venture "that is YET to START" and Jim Iyk bought flashy cars only for her to start running to court. One does not invest in business on Friday, then wake up on Monday to ask for refund of his/her money. For someone to invest 15M in business, she must have a blue print of how the business will proceed and prosper or did she just dump 15 M into his account and relaxed with the hope of getting paid in hundred folds?. Iff that is the case, all the Nigerians who bought bad stocks in banks and other companies should go to court and sue the companies as to why their stock went bunkers. She should have thought about the risk factors before investing and I will advise Jim Iyk that if he has the money to pay her, it is better he do it now because such a person will not take any type of loss from the business. Unless she has evidence that Jim Iyk withdrew her money and used it for some other thing instead of the business they discussed, then she is blowing hot air.
