PropertiesRe: Olu Okeowo's House: Man Shocked After Visiting His Friend’s Mansion In Lagos by AlphaTaikun: 3:15pm On Oct 10, 2022
BoneBlogger:
A man was left stunned after visiting the mansion of his friend whose father is a billionaire in Lagos. The multi-billion naira mansion belongs to Nigerian philanthropist and estate mogul, Sir Olu Okeowo, located in Parkview, Ikoyi area of Lagos state.

This trending video was recorded by a friend of Okeowo's son based in the UK , who was visiting the house for the first time.

In this video, the son (guy without a shirt on) seemed to have avoided the camera but, his “hype-man” brought a twist of fun with his jokes while taking the visitor round the house.

The mansion named, Palacio De Okeowo, is a three-floor Victorian building overlooking the sea. It was gathered that the mansion which is reportedly valued at $12 million was completed in a period of eleven months.

Palacio De Okeowo stands on five acres of land reportedly worth $3 million. It also claims 5,000 square metres of the sea that was sand-filled to situate the mansion’s swimming pool and other leisure areas on the land. It also includes a helipad, a jetty, basketball and tennis courts and chapel.

Olu Okeowo is not only a noted real estate billionaire, he is also popularly known for his eye-whopping car collection. Do you know that the total value of Olu Okeowo cars are around ₦2 billion, if not more.

His latest Rolls-Royce was bought late last year to commemorate the completion of his new 16-bedroom palace. It is said that the garage that keeps Sir Olu Okeowo’s colony of Rolls-Royce is fully air-conditioned..

CrimeRe: How God Saved Me From Being Kidnapped On 29th December 2020 by AlphaTaikun: 2:18pm On Oct 10, 2022
222Martins:
After seeing the viral video of a man whose drink was poisoned while he was happily dancing and merrymaking with friends on 31st night, i decided to put down my experience.

"There is nothing that a chameleon requests from the forest that it doesn't get."

"No matter the crooked ways of the river, the calabash will always triumph over it."

I usually laugh at people who doubt the supernatural. They are usually like fishes that get snapped by a net unknowingly. What most people don't know is that whatever happens to you today, has been known and endorsed already in the spirit realm long before the event takes place in your life. Well, let's leave this talk for another day.

First week of November 2020, a Seer sent me a message that "There is a Plot to Kidnap Me on the 29th December 2020 and if the kidnappers succeed; it will cause irreparable damage." That i should be very careful and trust no one." Note that as at when i got this message, my program for December hasn't been drawn but i sure know that December will be very busy. I told no one the message i got, not even my wife; to avoid sending her into panic mode.

On the last week of November 2020, My Political Adviser informed me that his wedding has been scheduled for 29th December 2020 and i said Haaaaaaa!!!! shocked shocked shocked shocked The reason i exclaimed was because attending his wedding is a must, as it is a way to show him and his family that i appreciate all his effort in the development of my political structure.

As his wedding kept drawing closer, people kept asking this my PA if i will attend his wedding and he said "Sure!!! That if i don't attend, who else will." Come 20th December 2020, as i prepared to travel to my hometown; i made sure that my security detail were re-armed to the teeth. Note, this was just standard protocol because of the festive season and series of events i am due to attend. Secondly, as at this 20th December, i have already forgotten the message of the Seer and was just happily looking forward to spend time with my family.

I arrived my country home for Xmas and there were tons of visitors trooping in right from the day i landed till i left home. However, i noticed that one of my kinsman was so interested in knowing if i will attend my PA's wedding. I told him yes and he pleaded that i allow him join my convoy with his car, so we can go to the wedding venue together. I said till that time comes.

Come 28th December 2020, i attended the burial ceremony of a townsman and a brother. As i stepped into the hall where guests were being entertained, there was a cheer from the crowd and i exchanged pleasantries with those i could reach. This my inquisitive kinsman still came, sat close to me and ask again if i was still going for my PA's wedding, which will take place the next day. That i should remember his offer to join my convoy, i said no problem.

Around 4:30pm, i started feeling uneasy. i suddenly became cold, my left hand was shaking and i was feeling so sleepy. Like, i was struggling to stay awake. I signaled to my team, we left the venue of the burial ceremony. I sent some of them to go represent me in other scheduled programs for the day while i headed home with the rest.

Immediately i got to my bedroom, i fell on the bed and that was all i could remember. When my wife took off my clothes, i don't even know. I woke up in the morning 29th December to see my family by my bed side. I told my wife to inform my team to get ready for my PA's wedding while i do the same. Surprisingly, i couldn't get up from the bed. My wife had to help me to the bathroom to shower and back to the bed.

On that bed, i remembered the warning of that Seer and one of the sayings of my mom that "No matter how dire the situation is, a lion's cub can never be used as sacrifice." I started laughing. My family members were surprised and considering moving me to a hospital. I told them not to, that i understand what is happening. As i was still laughing, I dozed off again.

I woke up in the afternoon of 30th December feeling so strong and much better. I requested for my phones, which was taken away from me by my wife. Immediately i opened Facebook and scrolled, the first major news i saw on the wall of a popular journalist in my state: "Multiple Kidnapping On the 29th December" at different locations of the state; with one happening exactly on the same route i was suppose to ply to and fro from the wedding."

As i was still reading, my father walked in to inform me that my inquisitive kinsman has an accident and wrecked his car that same 28th December evening, after i left the venue of the burial ceremony.

I thank God for overlooking my stubbornness and keeping me out of harm's way. And sometimes, we need to stop fighting setbacks that happen on our very important days; especially when we have made all possible preparation to ensure a hitch free day. You can never tell what God is trying to keep you from.

This is the story i wanted to share. I leave you to pick whatever piece you want from this write-up.

Thank you

QuinModah:
Blood loss is less than vaginal birth.” “Cesarean birth is faster than vaginal birth.” “Planned cesarean sections are convenient, date and time can be selected, and there is no need to wait for spontaneous labor. Because first-time C-sections often lead to C-sections in future pregnancies, a vaginal birth is generally the preferred method of delivery for first pregnancies. About 2 in 3 babies in the Nigeria are born via vaginal delivery, according to the National Center for Health Statistics.

However, recovery from a cesarean delivery is generally more painful. It is a lot more painful, longer, and often more difficult than recovery from a vaginal birth because it is a major abdominal surgery.

Vaginal birth is much safer than a C-section for most women and babies. Sometimes a C-section is the only safe option, like when the baby is positioned side-to-side in the belly (transverse lie) or the placenta is covering the cervix (placenta previa
).
Vaginal birth in a mini swimming pool is said to be more comfortable and less painful for women... because they have to squat, and
are not in a flat position like you have in a conventional vaginal delivery.

I've seen a live video of a woman giving birth in a pool of water and it was so surreal for me as a man. In a split second, the pool water turned red and I was like... "Kilon sele," then I realised a child had just been born... Lol. It was awesome.

Bukola Saraki is a British citizen yet was the senate president.

That is false. Besides, I don't believe a Nigerian elite would possess only a Nigerian citizenship.
You are are right about 'Bukola being British by birth. His father,
Oloye Olusola Saraki was studying medicine in England when he was born.

When I was typing all that stuff, my mind immediately flashed to Saraki, Gbajabiamila, and Ahmad Lawan who all have dual citizenships but I didn't want to start typing any further long explanations.

But seriously speaking, the law does not permit dual citizenship for those positions based on the very heated objections that came up when 'Femi Gbajabiamila (who is a
U.S.-trained lawyer and
Nigerian-American) and Ahmed Lawan were to become Speaker and Senate President respectively.

Even 'Dimeji Bankole who was also a Speaker is British-Nigerian and a former officer in the British Army!

Gosh! These guys have truly not been following their own rules. Lol
Most of them have Caribbean passports as backups.

Personally I don't see how having dual citizenship would deter the positive progression of a country if well harnessed like the Chinese are doing by actively creating a robust synergy with their Diaspora populations in America, Canada, and the UK.

All the best.

As post on LinkedIn by Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe.

We began with refurbishing foreign generators, and turned old or used generators to become like new. The new phase is to assemble/design generators with most of the parts sourced locally. Since January, we’ve been working with the government to ensure quality standards.

The factory will be at Enugu and we estimate to produce thousands of units per week to use in Nigeria and export across Africa. Our price model for the same capacity foreign brand will be at 40% of cost.

Here is the design; it will work on gasoline (i.e. petrol) and cooking gas. I am proud of what young Nigerians are doing, and even happier that when you provide small guidance, great things are happening. I commend Ugoji Harry for exceptional leadership and executing on the playbook. The goal is to list this business in the stock market. Christianity EtcRe: Slave Bible From 1800 Omitted Key Passages That Could Incite Rebellion by AlphaTaikun: 3:35pm On Oct 09, 2022
dydx2020:
Slave Bible From The 1800s Omitted Key Passages That Could Incite Rebellion.

On display now at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., is a special exhibit centered on a rare Bible from the 1800s that was used by British missionaries to convert and educate slaves.

What's notable about this Bible is not just its rarity, but its content, or rather the lack of content. It excludes any portion of text that might inspire rebellion or liberation.
It was intended for use among enslaved Africans in the British West Indies, which is modern day Caribbeans, so Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua," he says.

Anthony Schmidt, associate curator of Bible and Religion in America at the museum, says the first instance of this abridged version titled, Parts of the Holy Bible, selected for the use of the Negro Slaves, in the British West-India Islands, was published in 1807.

About 90 percent of the Old Testament is missing [and] 50 percent of the New Testament is missing," Schmidt says. "Put in another way, there are 1,189 chapters in a standard protestant Bible. This Bible contains only 232."

Schmidt says passages that could have prompted rebellion were removed, for example:

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:28
And verses that reinforced the institution of slavery, including "the most famous pro-slavery verse that many pro-slavery people would have cited," says Schmidt, were kept.

"Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ." Ephesians 6:5.
Schmidt says there are several theories behind the editing and omitting of so much of the standard Bible, but the main thought stems from the fact that farmers in the West Indies were opposed to missionaries worked with the enslaved Africans on their land.

"This can be seen as an attempt to appease the planter class saying, 'Look, we're coming here. We want to help uplift materially these Africans here but we're not going to be teaching them anything that could incite rebellion.' " Schmidt says. "Coming in and being able to educate African slaves would prepare them one day for freedom, but at the same time would not cause them to seek it more aggressively."
I'm not surprised by this.

One of the infamous slave ships was known as Jesus. So there was a link between the Xtian clergy, the kings and the White slave dealers in the triangular slave trade which made European nations to become stupendously rich.

Keep posting and ignore trolls. It delights them to get attention from you. You can see how happy the other one was to get your attention.

Sometimes, someone says something just as bait to draw you out. There is something that person wants to say, and they won't be able to say it unless you retaliate or react to their provocative words. They already wish to insult and discredit you, but your answer or retort is the key. Don't give them that chance.

I personally feel that this person is against /jealous of you and wanted a chance not only to discredit your experience, but to make you feel like trash. So he was very happy when you replied and he was able to thrust those words at you.
@Purples25, Very well said.

You forgot to mention

You are one of the few creative, mature, and intelligent young females that I've known in my 17 years here on NL, and this is the reason why I'm still following you and your topics on an older moniker of mine that I created in the 2000s. You largely spoke my thoughts about that boy (troll) who tried to derail this San Francisco travel thread.

Last but not least, I'm also certain those two "lovable" teenage boys in your house have been tamed and are no more stressing you out.*smirk*

P.S.
@Mstravelindiva, the post from
@Purples25 is originally meant for you. She's also based in Abuja, so when you and your spouse come visiting from the U.S., your paths might cross.

If your travel thread and posts were meant to brag or show-off, it would NOT have made the front page. Some trolls are depressed so they take out their frustrations on others. He doesn't even realise that you are not a young gurl, but you are above age 40, and a Company

Mstravelindiva,

That's awesome! You and your spouse have it all figured out. So
Abuja is gonna be lit for you nearly the same way San Francisco was!

The bolded second paragraph about you hiding your American accent cracked me up real hard... Lol grin.

If anybody tries messing up, he or she would have to come correct when your spouse is around [I like your tag-team combination].
Just a quick one, I know you once said your spouse is Ibo... what state is he from originally? Is he from the Ibo-speaking part of Delta State which is on the west of the River Niger, or from one of the core 5 Ibo-speaking states east of the River Niger?

I think it's about time they (Nigeria) made it easy to get official travel docs for American, British, Caribbean women, etc, who are married to Nigerian men and make it easier to naturalize. Just 2 weeks ago, I saw the photographs of newly
naturalized Nigerians on a thread here on NL, and most of them seemed to be Lebanese male and female folks. You can Google the story up.

Nigeria allows dual citizenship though. But when running for the top 4 or so political positions, then having more than 1 nationality, becomes illegal! This applies to the
Nigerian President, Vice President, Senate President, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Yeah! @the bolded, I love your "positive spirit" there. For folks like you and I who are over age 40, we tend to reach a point in life where after doing all that we can, we just exhale, and let go. Just like you stated about your Mexico vacay visit with your dear mama, there are forces in nature that are largely beyond us like hurricanes, etc. We can only make forecasts and order folks to leave a location or hide in strong shelters before landfalls occur. hmmm hmmm hmmm very well said brother and you made some very poignant and salient points. lol @ junketing about. as you rightly said the uk appears to be plummeting down and is facing many issues yet this our peter ob is still being subservient to a dying dog which shows you that he does not really believe in the nigerian project. the same can be said for atiku too who has decided to relocate permanently to dubai and to a slight extent to tinubu who appears to be in and out of the uk all the time but at least with tinubu he is not their kissing anyones behind. all the western dignitaries come to see him and pay their respects in bourdillon in his abode in ikoyii and so he at least has some kind of self respect. how are you campaigning for an election to be nigerias president out of nigeria ? like what sense does that make ? its just madness and like you rightly pointed out it is illegal for western politicians to raise caimpaign funds and donations from foreigners because that compromises the countries integrity and security as you will have allegiance to outside sources as president if you win. going all over the world and begging all over the world for campaign funds does not speak well of a presidential aspirant. it shows he is not ready for the task. i also love the point you made about foreign observers monitoring our electons. man that thing annoys the hell out of me like we are children that need to be monitored. and people just allow this nonsense to carry on. like the black race are children and whitey is our daddy that needs to monitor us lmaooo. what can i tell you bro ? low self esteem . i mean i don't mind the idea of being monitored seeing as many nigerians are corrupted but at least go to kenya or Zimbabwe or rwanda etc to get the people to monitor our elections. fellow africans. and the bolded point is very well received and very poignant. thank you for the input alphataikun. much much much appreciated
Nicely put Sukkot.

I agree with using a minimal number of African observers as you've said, but not Western observers or their embassy staff who issue statements criticizing
Nigeria (or the use of subtle threats) which violate the rule of non-interferance by diplomatic staff in another country's internal affairs.

Anyway, a Yoruba saying emphasizes that: "If there is no crack in the wall, the lizard cannot enter through the crack."

Professional Black men and women in let's say the legal profession in
America are still being subtly discriminated against by some of the majority White lawyers or attorneys, and they don't get to rise up faster in law firms, or they get penalised more for minor infractions among other issues. If Nigeria and other African countries get their acts together, it would rub off on Black America in terms of perceptions by white folks. I mean
Japan, etc, is a great country, so all folks of Japanese descent, including
Japanese-Americans also get respected.

I really enjoyed this insightful convo with you.

Cheers!

Why junketing about to the UK that the value of it's currency has weakened against the dollar and is facing hyperinflation, including an impending recession? It is even illegal for politicians in the U.S. for instance to raise campaign funds or donations from foreigners.

But you will see so-called foreign observers monitoring Nigerian elections, and some low self-esteem dolts still think that is normal. Non of that happens in the
Western world.

Nigeria needs to raise the bar and stop politicians like Peter who went to give lectures at those 3 UK/U.S.

This is not true. MTN 5G is widely available in Abuja and Lagos as we speak. Did a few speed test using a Nokia x10 even in a location where MTN hasn't even deployed a 5G base station, yet got 496mbps.

MTN is still currently in talks with Apple and Samsung as their devices are not getting the 5G signal. However, if you have a Nokia, Infinix, Tecno, Xiaomi, Oneplus or Oppo 5G device and in a 5G location, you will be getting the 5G signal on your device using a 4G sim.

You should master your craft. Choose crypto trading or forex and master one of them.
As long as there's still internet, trading would still be going on and people keep winning everyday.

You can doubt anything, don't even doubt crypto.

With the major on motion graphics, vfx in short. Then added trading at first and then got details about mining afterwards.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu's Achievements As Lagos Governor by AlphaTaikun: 3:58pm On Oct 08, 2022
LegendHero:
I saw someone (@Mario9jaa) on Twitter give snippet of why Bola Tinubu should be elected president and I want Nairalanders to see this too.

This is why we are supporting Tinubu.

1. Power: Tinubu’s government, in 2000, contracted AES to build an IPP that will generate 270MW of electricity to Lagos residents in order to exit the irrational power supply being provided by the FG. The 270MW is now part of our national grid. It is the first of it’s Kind. Tinubu electrification project covered over 100 communities. In his first term, 53 rural communities were targeted. The projects were completed in Egan, Atewolere, Ifesowapo, Aboru, Agbado Ayetoro, Akorede, Isheri Ikosi, Orile Aguntan, Rofo, Borokini, Omologbede, Araromi, Oke Agbo, Erekusu, Logberu, Okegelu and Ebute, Lekki. Others were Origanringan, Onigbolakowe, Oke odo Elemoro, Ipaja Isale odo, Agenuba, Ajelogo, Mutaku, Egansando, Ayanfe, topo and Ikola Agbenaje.

2. Decentralization: In order to bring governance closer to the people of Lagos state, Asiwaju created extra 36 LCDAs which led to the disagreement between Lagos and the OBJ led FG. They are still working till date. Nigeria needs someone who believes in this!
First of it’s kind

3. Economy: With an IGR of just over 600million naira when he took over, different initiatives which included the reorganization of the LIRS led to an unprecedented IGR of over 7billion monthly after 8 years, the sustainability of which has brought same to 57bn in 2022.

4. Health: Decentralization of the Health Management Board led to the creation of LASAMBUS, an ambulance management scheme, Hospital Services Commission and Lagos State Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency. In addition, policies such as “Roll Back Malaria”, “Jigi Bola, Free Health Policy for children below 16 year and adults above 65 years are verifiable ones that stood him out then. The First of its Kind.

5. Infrastructure: Roads, Railway Roadmaps, Port Roadmaps, Housing Roadmaps. Hospital Roadmaps.
