The people of Benue said they don’t want him in Benue. He should lick his wounds quietly and stop making noise about it. This Obi idiot keeps politicizing everything in Nigeria. Once he can’t have his way, he runs to the media and start crying like a bush baby.

I love it. The era of using SS PDP Governors to find political ambition without getting anything in return is over.
Same thing will happen in Delta State:
President: Tinubu/APC
Governor: Sherriff/PDP
NASS: Minimally the same.
SHOA: To align.

Bayelsa is already ringing that tone also.

Edo is done deal.

Cross Rivers is done deal.

Rivers: Undecided

I love my BRACED new political dynamics. FG is very significant here now.

Who wan fight should go ahead, but they should count SS out.
That’s how it should be. The Senate President is from Akwa Ibom and he’s doing well. The governor is also doing well. The state can have both of them for 8 years without sacrificing anyone on the alter of an outsiders ambition.

Rub my back i rub your back. Governor Eno and the entire PDP structure in Akwa Ibom will work with APC on the day of the presidential election to deliver the President and Senate President's seat while Akpabio and the entire APC structure will work with PDP to deliver Gov. Eno's re-election. Win-win for everyone except the evil coalition of El-Rufai, Peter and Atiku grin grin grin

I don't think this should be a surprise to any body following our current economic Journey. The govt totally stopped paying subsidy on PMS about a year ago and as such there is more space to pay up outstanding loan interests and also avoid new foreign loans. To the best of my knowledge, this administration has not applied for any new foreign loan.I am aware world bank approved a loan package for Nigeria in the last weeks of PMB tenure, and that's what they have been disbursing to Nigeria since over a year now.

However,I am still not happy with this news,No economic indices can gladen my heart until I see fx rate at a minimum of #1000.There should be renewed vigour to push oil production to a minimum of 2mbpd minus condensate by year end.High volume of crude oil production is the easiest and most viable way to drive economic development in Nigeria.
With a budget benchmark of N1,500 to $1, calling for the exchange rate to drop to N1000 is unrealistic and calling for chaos. How will federal and state governments fund their budgets at that rate? It’s even worse now that prices of crude oil has gone down as a result of Trump’s tariff war. So, keeping the exchange rate stable at around N1,500 throughout the year will be a massive macroeconomic target for the CBN this year.

Politics › Nigeria Exempted As Trump ‘moves To’ Shut Down US Embassies In Africa by ALTERNATEID(op): 8:17am On Apr 18, 2025
US President, Donald Trump, has initiated a move to shut down several embassies in Africa and other parts of the world, according to CNN.

About 30 embassies and consulates across the globe are said to be affected by the decision of the Trump administration.

The move is part of a sweeping plan to reduce the country’s diplomatic presence abroad, a CNN report said, citing an internal US State Department document.

According to the station, embassies in the Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Lesotho, and South Sudan are among those proposed for closure including a US consulate in South Africa.

“The document recommends closing 10 embassies and 17 consulates. Many of the posts are in Europe and Africa, though they also include locations in Asia and the Caribbean.

“These include embassies in Malta, Luxembourg, Lesotho, the Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan.

“The list also includes five consulates in France, two in Germany, two in Bosnia and Herzegovina, one in the United Kingdom, one in South Africa, and one in South Korea
,” the report stated.

CNN said the internal document also suggests reducing the US presence in countries such as Somalia and Iraq, which have been central to America’s counterterrorism efforts.

There has been no official confirmation that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has approved the proposal, and a spokesperson for the department declined to comment on the leaked document.

Seun is just a lowlife coward and hypocrite. So much words and still nothing sensible said. If you have such a nasty opinion about the performance of Peter Obi in 2014 at the end of his tenure, what exactly changed your opinion about him in 2023? How did he move from the useless governor that you claimed he was in 2014 to the only messiah that can save Nigeria in 2023?

Part of the problem with this generation is folks who think they are beyond questioning. Folks who don’t want to take responsibility for anything. Once evidence of their hypocrisy and double speak is exposed, they rush to delete tweets and then carry on hypocritically like nothing happened. No honor, no integrity. Typical Obidient.

Impeachment is a difficult and dangerous route at this time.

For me, Amaewhule and his co travellers are cowards. One day they all on live tv decamped from PDP to APC, flying the flag of APC right inside the house and outside. The next day, the cowards claimed that they did not decamp. What happened to the live show that we all witnessed? Even APC that received them openly same moment turned around to say that they did not decamp. What a bunch of cowards in the name of politics. The case is still in court as we heard.
The problem with folks like you is that you lack understanding of both law and politics. Defection does not amount to automatic losing of seats. Where you guys got the idea from that once a lawmaker defects, he automatically loses his seat is what i don't understand. For the avoidance of doubt, when there is a division in the party that sponsored the lawmaker, he can defect without losing his seat. So, who determines if there is a division in a party? Only the court. The governor or anyone else cannot make that decision. And until the court rules that there was no division as envisaged by law, the lawmakers remain members of the house. It is absolute political rascality for the governor to wake up one day and declare the seats of elected lawmakers vacant and then demolish the State House of Assembly complex. Such madness must not be allowed to go unchecked.

Natasha Akpoti is a morally bankrupt lady with no iota of credibility. The only thing she sells is her sexual appeal and that is why anytime she has an issue with someone, she quickly runs to the media to accuse the person of sexual harassment. For a lady who has been married four time and has previously accused about three men falsely of same sexual harassment, I don't believe anything coming out of her mouth. She is just a desperate attention seeker who is been used to distract the government and bring down the Senate President.

Hello, fellow Nigerians! I’ve been thinking—why is there always a need for change? Can't we have some continuity in our progress? PMB introduced REMITA, and now PBAT is developing a new app. I'm curious how much was spent on implementing REMITA, which has only been around for 12 years. It makes me wonder about the importance of upgrades and continuity in our systems. If I were the owner of this new software, I might be tempted to support the switch, too! Let's keep working together for a better Nigeria. God bless you all!
REMITA is owned by Systemspec. The new platform is owned by FG. Big difference.

They defected! They read their letters on the floor of the house and swore to am affidavit.
In a sane nation, elections would have been conducted to fill their seats long ago.
They defected because there was division in their party. When an elected lawmaker defect based on division, they don't lose their seats. Again, the Supreme Court has held that it is only a Court that can declare the seat of a lawmaker vacant in situations like this and not the governor. So, until the high court rules on the matter, they remain valid members of the house.

jaxxy:
I have never seen the senate give the president 48hrs to do anything. This is gross insubordination.

The governor should ignore the childish House.
What do you mean by gross insubordination? The State Assembly oversees the governor. They supervise him to on behalf of the people. So, if the Governors has not presented the state budget for 2025 to the state Assembly as at 3rd of March, 2025, then the people's representatives have the duty to give him an ultimatum. Again, there is a judgement that says the CBN and AGF should not release allocation again to Rivers state until a valid budget is passed into law. The state assembly can't simply fold their hands and watch the governor shut down governance without doing anything. They have to be proactive and that is what they are doing.
