The latest unfortunate man in town ![]() |
Another Fulani herdsmen down. |
amendara1:The guy is just over a year in office. Ambode had good four years, why did he fail to complete the project despite diverting funds for the metro line to project? Government is continuum so there is nothing like Ambode’s project. It’s a Lagos state government project and governor Sanwo-Olu is the one that completed it. Period. |
kayjay69:There is no state that is a monumental success in Nigeria. However, Lagos stands out amongst all the 36 states in the country. Since the so called Tinubu era started in Lagos, the state has moved up to become the 5th largest economy in Africa. Let’s even compare Tinubu to his 1999 contemporaries, how many of them laid a framework in their respective states that are still operational till today? Let’s quit the hatred and be realistic. Tinubu is a far better politician and administrator than his peers. If the 2023 options are limited to Tinubu, Atiku, Peter Obi, Umahi, or Orji Kalu, I will easily support Tinubu because of his track record of getting things done. |
RedPanthar:As usual!
|
Dansuqi:You need to read my post again, very slowly this time around and try to comprehend my point. |
sarrki:If the section is inconsistent with any section of the constitution, the court can declare the inconsistent section null and void. The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the high court so it’s a settled case already. |
sarrki:https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.lawyard.ng/flashback-federal-high-court-invalidates-section-140-1-2-of-the-electoral-act-amendment-2010/amp/ |
sarrki:The particular section you circled in red was declared null and void by a high court judge some years ago. The Supreme Court later upheld the decision of the high court because it was not appealed. So, that section is just there on paper, it cannot be enforced. |
Baba Akande is very funny. The proper thing to do for an elder statesman of his caliber is to ask the president to resign instead of calling for prayers for him. The president is obviously no longer fit to continue in office and calling for prayers instead of resignation is just putting it lightly. |
All the northern forces that are sponsoring this uprising and killings, I decree the curse of God upon them. God is omnipotent, omniscience and omnipresent. He saw the herdsmen when they were planning the attacked, he did not stop or curse them. They executed their evil plan and Oyedepo is here wasting time decreeing curses on them. Prayer or cursed is not the solution. The southern Kaduna people should arm themselves and be ready for the next attack. |
Cadamlk:How? |
APCmyheart:You probably mistook me for one of the hateful iPod trolls on Nairaland, very wrong. I campaigned and voted for Buhari. I still support his government till today. That notwithstanding, we must call him out when he's wrong. The above list is very unfair to the south and against the federal character principle. The president should not just be biased, he should be seen as not being biased. |
Clemsworld: |
NOETHNICITY:Indian hemp is a hard drug that can lead to mental instability when abused. Alcohol is just a recreational drink that will make you trendy. They are different. |
NOETHNICITY:Indian hemp is a banned substance, alcohol is not. |
vedaxcool:The fact that we support the president doesn't mean we should not call him out when he takes a very wrong decision. Nominating two ambassadorial designate from 8 northern states while Lagos is the only southern state with two doesn't really reflect the principle of federal character as enshrined in the constitution of the country. Whether I will be appointed or benefit somehow is irrelevant to the subject of discussion. |
iambijo:Can you provide me with details of the current ambassadors so that we can make an informed comparison? |
Two nominees each from Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, kwara, Lagos, Plateau, Sokoto and Zamfara. 8 States from the north had two nominees while Lagos is the only state with two nominees from the south. Whatever the criteria used by the president in drawing up this list, it is very unfair to the south. |
Prostitution is illegal and that's understandable. But stopping people from selling and consumption of alcohol is illegal and a breach of the fundamental human right of the people who desire to sell and consume alcohol. The prohibition should be challenged before a court of competent jurisdiction. |
WOCKHARDI:We need the Chinese loan badly. Taiwan is not offering us anything, so, not a really difficult decision to throw them under the bus. |
KahlDrogo:Lekan Fatodu was accused by SR of laundering stolen money on behalf of Femi Fani-Kayode. He is a part of the thieving elites that I referred to in my post. |
Also Providing response to the issues raised by the Senate committee on the legal and operational status of the NPDC, Matashi explained that like all other indigenous oil and gas companies operating in Nigeria, the NPDC is self-funded which means that gross revenue are not remitted to the Federation Account . Agreed. But, what about the operating surplus of NPDC? Since NPDC is a full subsidiary of NNPC, all its operating surplus/profit should be remitted to the federation account. |
ScotsReferendum:You followed him to the police station when he was arrested, right? |
When it comes to investigative journalism in Nigeria, Sahara reporters lead while all others follow. No amount of intimidation can stop Sahara reporters from exposing the fraudulent activities of senior government officials and the thieving elites. |
Cross River (N301billion), Delta (N271 billion), Bayelsa and Ogun (N221 billion each Cross Rivers budget is bigger than that of oil rich Delta and Bayelsa, how will they finance it considering that the state no longer receive 13% oil derivation? |
Splinz:You and silly reno are both ignorant of the position of the law. The code of corporate governance issued by the FRC is a subsidiary law that derives its powers from the FRC act of 2011. The said act was signed into law by Goodluck Jonathan. |
Congratulations to Anthony Ayine and shame on all those that tried to block his confirmation through frivolous petitions . |
When will Putin and Trump come and rescue Kanu from the zoo's prison now? We all know his arrest was a strategy that Buhari fell for. But as things are now, is the strategy failing or KANU's backers have left him to his faith? |
As lawmakers, what have you and your colleagues done, either through constitutional oversight or legislation to curb the corruption in the civil service? |
Splashme:That is the constitutional responsibility of the auditor general for the federation. |

If it had anything to do with government, you think the gentleman would be out yet? At least, they woukd have keot him for 23 hrs, 59mins.
