The president and his ECOWAS team should not be discouraged. No sacrifice should be considered too much to achieve peace. Yaya Jammeh is like a mad man with fire light in a gas station, he must be haddled with care else, he will set the whole place on fire. No matter the inconvenience, they should keep exploring the diplomatic option. Military solution should be the last option. |
The petitions are baseless and without merit. The senate should disregard them and promptly confirm Anthony Ayine. |
EgusiSoup:The president has appointed Daniel Asapokhai, financial reporting specialist and partner at PWC as the new executive secretary. So, how's Daniel Asapokhai a northerner? |
This is very unfortunate. He only did his job. His sack will only send the wrong signal that sacred cow still exist when it comes to implementing certain laws. The person coming after him will definitely not be bold enough to implement the law when it comes to regulating some certain NGOS. This is not a good development. |
Whynotthetruth:You can come to whatever conclusion your wailing mind leads you to, it doesn't change the truth as revealed by the executive secretary of FRC. |
Boleyndynasty2:Nigeria is a country of law and order. If you don't want to obey the laws of the land, move to another country. Adeboye is wiser than most of you. He obeyed the law because it is the right thing to do, learn from him. |
NNVanguard:Who told you the sultan is up to 70? |
Any pastor that is not ready to obey the law of the land should close down his church in Nigeria and take it to somewhere else. |
udoh2k:“The code has been on naturally, right from (ex-President Goodluck) Jonathan’s time and this has been over four years. When the code was being done, we engaged all the stakeholders and their presentations formed part of what was in the code at the end of the day. “The only people that took the matter to court were the churches and they lost. It was on the day they lost that our legal adviser said ‘okay, we could go ahead and release the code and that if we don’t release this code, other bodies will go to court to challenge it’.....Jim Obazee, executive Secretary, FRCN. |
Jayceo:“The code has been on naturally, right from (ex-President Goodluck) Jonathan’s time and this has been over four years. When the code was being done, we engaged all the stakeholders and their presentations formed part of what was in the code at the end of the day. “The only people that took the matter to court were the churches and they lost. It was on the day they lost that our legal adviser said ‘okay, we could go ahead and release the code and that if we don’t release this code, other bodies will go to court to challenge it’...... Jim Obazee, Executive secretary, FRCN. |
Silly reno as usual. He should also tell us if the current sultan has served as president of NSCIA for 20 years. |
kagel:Can you please reframe your question? |
lanrema:How is it a camouflage? Do you have evidence to the contrary? |
Ten12:The said churches are registered as NGOS by corporates affairs commission. By so doing, they become a legal entity and a creation of the law. As legal entities, they are subject to the laws and regulations of the country. |
“The code has been on naturally, right from (ex-President Goodluck) Jonathan’s time and this has been over four years. When the code was being done, we engaged all the stakeholders and their presentations formed part of what was in the code at the end of the day. “The only people that took the matter to court were the churches and they lost I hope the ignorant folks accusing Buhari of undermining the authority of the churches get to read the above part. The law was made under Goodluck Jonathan and not the current president. In addition, some churches took the matter to court and lost. That should settle all the unnecessary controversies. |
YouthsPC0:When was the law establishing the FRCN passed? The problem with people like you and the author of this trash is crass ignorance born out of hatred for the president. Buhari has nothing to to with the law that stipulates that leaders of registered NGO's cannot lead the organisation for more than 20 years, the law was passed before he became president. When Soludo was CBN governor, he pushed for a similar legislation that prohibits managing directors of banks from staying in office for more than 10 years. It is not a big deal or targeted at any religion like myopic minds like you guys want us to believe. |
Legitimate aspirations is within their right but the power to decide ultimately resides with the people of Nigeria. Apart from Buhari, I can never vote for another northerner in 2019. That would be tantamount to allowing the north to rule for 12 straight years. |
datola:As far as Redeem is concerned, when you hear from Adeboye it is as good as hearing from God. They rever him that much. I am not a christian by the way, just stating the obvious. |
That's my attention seeking governor in action. He loves anything that keeps him in the news. |
OP, edit your misleading title and stop the misrepresentation. Adeboye is not retired, he remains the active head of the church worldwide. Yesterday's arrangement was just to satisfy regulatory authority and nothing else. Absolute power, spiritual and otherwise still resides with the GO. |
RIP to him. |
Achuwa1:You people should stop commenting on issues you are ignorant of simply because you hate the president. Federal civil service commission duely advertised the position for all interested and qualified professionals to apply. Written and oral interviews were conducted and the nominee came first. The president only accepted and nominated Ayine based on the recommendation of fcsc. So, what is wrong with the president appointing the candidate that emerged through a merit based process? Is merit based appointment not what we have been clamouring for all along? |
The so called “Coalition of members of Staff and Organised Labour of the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation” does not represent the interest and views of majority of the staff. They are only being sponsored by a certain director who lost out to Anthony Ayine during the interview. The coalition is not known to the office. Ayine emerged through a merit based system, we should support him to succeed instead of all this unnecessary pull him down syndrome. If the senate refuse to confirm Ayine as a result of all the unnecessary and baseless petitions, no Southerner should complain if the president replaces him with a northerner. |
And some deluded folks will still believe this trash. Shm! |
Mrs. Alison-Madueke, according to Mr. Awolusi, instructed Mr. Okonkwo to ensure that the money was “neither credited into any known account nor captured in any transaction platforms” of Fidelity Bank. Mr. Okonkwo accepted and implemented the deal leading to the movement of $153,310,000 from NNPC to Fidelity Bank. I hope Mr Okonkwo and other rogue bankers indicted in this transaction are prosecuted and jailed accordingly. When we talk about corruption, often time we concentrate on the politicians and civil servants while neglecting the rogue bankers who facilitates most of the corrupt transactions. The Buhari administration must set an example with all the indicted bankers, the anti corruption war must be all encompassing and not limited to public office holders alone. |
The dismissed police officers went out of line and were properly punished. When you are securing a politically exposed person, you must follow laid down rules of engagement or be ready to face the consequences. Wike can employ them if he likes. He should stop making noise about an internal police affairs that is beyond him. |
MTN is not the only company that is guilty of this practise, so many foreign companies do the same. Ben Bruce once told us to buy naija to grow naija, that is the only way to avoid things like this. |
maestroferddi:Nigerians elected Buhari to fight corruption and he's doing a great job at the moment. |
Coolgent:Thanks. |
They should both be prosecuted for murder. There is absolutely no justification for the cold blooded murder of the lady, blasphemy or not. |
Uduak2019:With all his simulated training, he's still running from one court to the other begging for bail. You Ipobians are as confused as your leader. You only talk and think out of emotion without any iota of logic and common sense. |
They are crazy for coming up with those silly demands. It's even more obvious now that the NDA are political tools for destabilising the PMB administration and not a freedom fighting movement after all. How can people fighting for freedom and resource control be demanding for the release of criminals from other regions? How will the release of Dasuki, FFK and Kanu help the Niger delta cause? Dasuki and his criminal gangs are the ones sponsoring the myopic NDA to frustrate the anti corruption fight of the president. And God willing, they won't succeed. All those who looted the funds meant for the development of the country during the GEJ regime will all rot in jail and no amount of blackmail will make this government to stop the fight against corruption. |
