See wailings all over the place. Tinubu has his picture on graduate list. He was even a graduate assistant teaching his classmates. His senior colleague in same attested to that. Atiku is just wasting all the stolen money he acquired while being vice president. The Americans will swoop on him. He will pay heavy fines for needless lawsuits.

Show us this picture then.

Tinubu is right

The Nigerian president argued his academic records should not be released because they fell under a 1974 privacy law for American students.

Tinubu is protected by the 1974 privacy law for students who schooled in the USA.

Chicago state university confirmed the president of Nigeria attended and graduated with distinction and he also presented his BSc to INEC as his highest qualification while obi presented his GCE result as his highest qualification.

I guess you conveniently skipped the part where the Chicago State University did not elaborate whether the student in question was male or female.

Can there be any connection between this unnecessary military aggression and violation of another country's sovereignty and the impending court judgment on the recent election robbery perpetrated by Ahmed Tinubu?.

There indeed is. What happened in Niger is what happens when enough of a population grow tired of the elite preying on them. Basically, there's not much Tinu-bubblehead can do about it. This military aggression will only hasten his demise.

What was the cut off mark of Adamawa?

Actually in 1989, it was out of 600 because my eldest sister sat for it and scored 534 and our state, (Imo state) cut off mark that year was 523 and highest in Nigeria, while the old Gongola state was less than 200 as we had a neighbour who was from Mubi (Gongola state) whose daughter scored less than 200 and made it to Queens College Lagos while my eldest sister didn't get FGC Ijanikin that was her first choice nor FGC Okigwe that was her second choice but was compensated with Federal Government College, Sokoto ! Imagine sending a 12 year old from Lagos to Sokoto by road way back in 1990......my parents did waka to them and got my sister enrolled in a day secondary school in Lagos.

Nowhere in the north had a cutoff score of more than 200 out of 400. Their cutoffs where routinely below 170. Bendel, Anambra and Imo states vied against each other for highest cutoff in the country with every administration. I'm not too sure about that 600 cutoff though, when I took mine, it was cutoff 400, but after two administrations, the ceiling, if I recall correctly, was changed to 700 and not 600.

This Abbo guy looks to be in his late forties/early fifties. Is there anyone on this thread that still remembers common entrance in the 1980's as well as the notorious quota system? I'll give you a short summary:

SouthEast region and Bendel(present day Esan territory of Edo state) cutoff: 320~340 out of 400.

Benin state and virtually all southwest states as well as middle belt cutoff: ~250 out of 400.

Virtually all Northern region(The minister candidates in questions' region): less than ~120 out of 400.

I still remember many boys from the northern regions that even secured scholarships to unity schools after scoring ~70 out of 400.

So, what "brilliance" is this ministerial candidate referring to?

Their alliance with Russia just means a failure in advance. Let's assume NATO nations support ECOWAS with weapons, Niger Republic is gone. This is not like the defensive game that they're playing in Ukraine, this is a full all out attacking game. Both Wagner Group and Niger Republic will surrender when time reach.

That's some very funny wishful thinking. The military dictatorship has the bulk of public support. NATO and ECOWAS will be coming in as foreign invaders and imperialists not liberators. Niger can simply opt to leave ECOWAS if they become too much trouble.

Their big champion, Tinubu and not ECOWAS(we need to be very clear about this) is mulling "military intervention" in Niger. Do you want to guess why. especially when the events in Niger has direct implications on the security of his position as "president". The trouble with "military intervention" is that it will visit catastrophe upon Nigeria. See the current suffering, take it and multiply by 100 fold to get an estimate of the level of suffering that will come upon this country should this drug induced "military intervention" idea come to pass, but of course Tinubu does not see anything wrong with the common people being desperately impoverished, as long as it advances his progress, it's all good.

The Niger military with a combined force of less than 15,000 boots including Airforce personnel isn't up the 82 composite Division Enugu, 3 Armoured Div Jos, 81 Division Lagos Garrison Command. They can't withstand Land and Air forces of the Nigerian and Ecomog forces. The after-effect of the military action is the reason for caution. Let's not add the 1st Division in Kaduna and 2nd Division in Oyo.

I guess you skipped the part where the leader of Wagner group(Russian forces) hailed the coup and pledged military support, as well as the part where the self-proclaimed military dictator of Niger did formally ask for Russian support? I guess also that you didn't read the part where at least 3 different countries that share borders with Niger are Russian allies and already host Russian military bases? Please read that OP again.

Gbamsolutely!!!

On Saturday, the African Union (AU) gave the soldiers 15 days to return to their barracks and restore civil rule in the country.
Niger will also be suspended from all financial assistance and transactions with financial institutions within ECOWAS.

Peace is all we want in our world.

God bless AFRICA......from all of us @MANNA!

We no longer live in a unipolar world. BRIC will not only rush in to fill the void that these sanctions will leave but might even see Niger fare better. The "15 day deadline" will come to pass, those soldiers will go nowhere and nothing will happen. Wanna know why? Because Russia has been reached out to by Niger for help, and once Russia establishes any kind of presence in Niger, the game is up. Most Nigeriens are in support of this coup, therefore the Russians will enjoy their support, then the west will find themselves faced with the uniquely challenging task of explaining how they can be going against the will of the people, fighting the people and at the same time posing as a champion for democracy without sounding like a bunch of hypocrites.

Politics / Re: Russia Has Taken Niger. Can Nigeria Handle An Impending Proxy War In Niger? by Alusiizizi(m): 3:33pm On Jul 31, 2023
Armaggedon:
Perceived Complacency of western powers over insecurity in the sahel region has made many countries in the region to switch partners from West to Russia. Thus, Central African Republic, Burkina Faso and Mali engaged the services of Russian group in fight against insurgency. Mali and Burkina Faso went further to sack the French forces assisting them.

Now with the coup in Nigeria's next door neighbor Niger over same insecurity, it's obvious Russia is about to have a presence there.

Unlike Mali, Burkina Faso etc US already has two airforce bases in Niger which house it's Africom. To further highlight the importance of Niger to them, US has made frantic diplomatic efforts to restore the deposed president to power.

The Niger junta is set embrace Russia and Russia will likely ask them to sack US airforce from the country. The US may likely leave in humiliation or see it as one loss too many. Depending on what they decide, Niger might soon be a theatre of a fierce proxy war.

Can Nigeria handle such a war at it's doorstep with heavy arms flow? The war in far away Libya was the reason terrorists in the north grew strong with arms to challenge the government. Also the civil war in Cameroon is one of the reasons ESN is standing strong. ( Don't ask me how)

Can Nigeria survive two superpower fight at its border which may likely make them pick sides in Nigeria's own crisis such as Biafran seperatism?

Perfect observation, Russia WILL find a new home in Niger, probably within a week or two, U.S. will be driven out, probably in the same time period as well. What will probably not happen is the pipe-dream that ECOWAS refers to as military intervention. You want to know why? First of all, it is not only Nigeriens that are happy with this military coup, peoples from other ECOWAS nations, especially Nigeria seem to be happy about this coup as well. Let's face it, democracy, for whatever reason, has turned out to be a disaster in West Africa in particular and Africa in general, so how does one drum up support for a military intervention that they do not believe in? Where are they going to get their army to invade a sovereign nation? You are also correct, of all the ECOWAS countries that will suffer if this drug induced hallucination of "military intervention" comes to be, Nigeria will be the worst hit. You think insecurity/ISWAP/Boko-Haram is bad as it is now? Consider multiplying that problem 100-fold and then tell me with a straight face that Nigeria will still be alive after this. The truth is that getting trapped into this delusion will be the force that will force Nigeria to break up irreversibly. Biafra will break away almost as soon as the "shit hits the fan" so to speak. SW may linger a while longer but then even they will break away.

I have a suspicion that the only reason why this current Nigerian president is even thinking aloud of such a ridiculous option is due to a presumption that his position as president would be more secure, disregarding completely the effect that his decision will have on the Nigerian people and Nigeria as a whole, just as his recent policies, as soon as he entered office, seemed completely devoid of any consideration of the effect/sufferings that will be visited on the Nigerian people and Nigeria in general. Yet another selfish, self-aggrandizing move to advance his progress at the expense of everyone else, so to summarize my answer to your question, Nigeria has no hope for survival if this war actually happens.

If the majority of Nigeriens wanted this coup, then the war is already lost by ECOWAS before it even started, because from what I can see, the majority of Nigerians/ECOWAS definitely have no interest in this war whatsoever. Fighting soldier that are duty bound to risk their lives on the battle-field(regardless of their opinion on the reason why they are fighting) is one thing, but it is a completely different Gorilla when fighting against a people that would happily risk their lives to defend their families, as well as their ways of life.

You guys should get educated every once in a while. First of all, what does Buhari gain by inviting conflict to his own country? France is the culprit here. They feed off their former colonies, draining the blood out of their bodies like a vampire that refuses to go back to its' coffin, US and the west, being the bloodsucking opportunists that they are, see an opportunity to get into Africa, again!! From what I gather, all of Frances' former colonies send some form of tribute to Paris and the former leader of Niger was a friend of the French. When the Military took over Niger(and yes, we must all get used to Military rule in Niger, a coup that lasts for more than 24 hours is a success, as said by Garba) one of the first things that they did was cut ties with France, including their required tribute, that's the real reason why US and EU are so interested in such a desperately poor Nation, whose national GDP is not even up to the yearly revenue of many rural towns in the U.S.A.

I usually don't lend credit to this Garba, even if he said "hello", but I agree with his assessment 100% on this one. Going into a military altercation with Niger would be a fools decision, and one that Nigeria and ECOWAS will end up paying for dearly. Niger has sought the aid of Russia, and Putin/Russia, having already shown keen commitment to his African partners will be surely respond to Niger substantially, the one player that will definitely not show, especially when they see Russia in the action(and which, I am sure, that a vegetable like Tinubu will be counting on for military support) is EU, US and NATO.

The choice of revolting against the solution is not even a luxury at this point, only an illusion of such. At this point, I don't think that they will have any other options. I used to live in a society where such destructive conditions befell a portion of that society. They too revolted, just as you have pointed out that the Niger-Delta will revolt against the solution, but eventually even they will be forced to accept solution or extinction, just as the aforementioned portion of the society in question was forced to accept absorption against extinction.

Throw bombs at them and they will rebuild. Shoot bullets at them and the remainder among them will repopulate and grow stronger, but lead just one generation of their society into that abyss that you described for us and that society will never return. Romance / Re: Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Date Uk-based Nigerian Women by Alusiizizi(m): 1:21pm On Jul 24, 2023
uche87:
Often when single young people move to the United Kingdom, they are always caught between starting new relationships abroad or sticking to their old relationships in their home countries. This short article is aimed at guiding you to make the best decision on the basis of reality and not mere emotions and sentiments.

I will try as much as possible to make this piece less controversial. The aim isn't to break relationships and destroy the efforts of couples in their relationships.

Dating a good Nigerian woman in the UK is amazing. They bring happiness and increase your zeal to succeed by giving you strong backing.
Below are some of the reasons why dating a Nigerian woman in the UK is highly recommended.

(1) Nigerian women are appreciative:

Let's face it, there is no abundance of 'original' male suitors in the UK. Some coloured women even go for several months without anybody stopping them on the street to say hello. This adds value to men (law of demand and supply). So when single women ever meet their male counterparts, they value you like the pound note.

(2) Financial independence:

The UK creates an enabling ground and a level-playing field for everybody to succeed. As long as you are ready to work, you will make good money. UK-based Nigerian women have their own money and take pleasure in buying their own things unlike their counterparts back home, who are at the mercy of Tinubu and his APC friends.

(3) Beauty and fashion:

UK-based Nigerian women are not only beautiful, but they are so classy. They could be fashionable due to the extra cash and the affordability of clothes in the UK. I believe they have more 'packaging' than Amazon lol

(4) Better opportunities:

Nigerian women are doing really well in the UK. They are like the last piece of the puzzle you need to make your life complete. I have seen some men doing blue-collar jobs marry doctors and company management officials in the UK. This opens a door of opportunities and stability.

(5) Adaptability:

If you are in the UK, you are better off dating a Nigerian woman who lives in the country. This is because they have adapted to the system and have a strong knowledge of how it works. This is always as smooth as when Robin Van Persie moved from Arsenal to Old Trafford. He hit the ground running.

(6) Happy Ending:

UK women have very strong 'grips'. Legends in the house would understand. This is because of the scarcity of men and the busy nature of the country. You can't boldly say the same about Lagos-based women who are mostly 'sexually stressed' due to too multiple relationships running concurrently and marketing activities.

(7) Mental stability:

Due to the performing nature of the UK economy (compared to Nigeria), the women are generally happy to an extent because their needs are easily met via simple financial plans. Tinubu, back home has triggered an epidemic of mood swings amongst women with highly counterproductive public policies.

(cool Fiscal compatibility:

Nigerian women in the UK are largely transparent with their finances. They also contribute to the payment of bills. They know for sure that their spouses might develop hunchbacks carrying those responsibilities alone. This attribute isn't easy to come by in Nigeria where the women regularly say 'Your money is our money and my money is my money' to their men.

(9) Better exposure:

Traveling itself is a form of education. As you pass through places, they also pass through you. Nigerian women in the UK have mixed with different races by virtue of being in the country. This has also broadened their perspective on life and made them better people.

(10) Cooking:

Nigerian women are generally fantastic cooks. They don't just have the skill, but they also have the financial resources to explore new measures of making both local and foreign dishes. Inadequate financial resources impede the abilities of their local counterparts.
