00FFT00: There indeed is. What happened in Niger is what happens when enough of a population grow tired of the elite preying on them. Basically, there's not much Tinu-bubblehead can do about it. This military aggression will only hasten his demise. |

Mindlog: Ok. Thought for whatever reason that it was 700. It was a while ago though, I took mine in 1987. |
Politics / Re: I Passed Common Entrance In Primary 3 Because Of My Brilliance – Senator Abbo by Alusiizizi(m): 12:57pm On Aug 02, 2023 |
Mindlog: Nowhere in the north had a cutoff score of more than 200 out of 400. Their cutoffs where routinely below 170. Bendel, Anambra and Imo states vied against each other for highest cutoff in the country with every administration. I'm not too sure about that 600 cutoff though, when I took mine, it was cutoff 400, but after two administrations, the ceiling, if I recall correctly, was changed to 700 and not 600. |
Politics / Re: I Passed Common Entrance In Primary 3 Because Of My Brilliance – Senator Abbo by Alusiizizi(m): 4:56pm On Aug 01, 2023 |
This Abbo guy looks to be in his late forties/early fifties. Is there anyone on this thread that still remembers common entrance in the 1980's as well as the notorious quota system? I'll give you a short summary: SouthEast region and Bendel(present day Esan territory of Edo state) cutoff: 320~340 out of 400. Benin state and virtually all southwest states as well as middle belt cutoff: ~250 out of 400. Virtually all Northern region(The minister candidates in questions' region): less than ~120 out of 400. I still remember many boys from the northern regions that even secured scholarships to unity schools after scoring ~70 out of 400. So, what "brilliance" is this ministerial candidate referring to? 2 Likes |
Politics / Re: Breaking - Niger Suspends Export Of Uranium To France - Russia To Supply Arms by Alusiizizi(m): 5:41pm On Jul 31, 2023 |
adebayo987: That's some very funny wishful thinking. The military dictatorship has the bulk of public support. NATO and ECOWAS will be coming in as foreign invaders and imperialists not liberators. Niger can simply opt to leave ECOWAS if they become too much trouble. |

fuckJones: Yes, and denied their identity as mercenary all the way until 2022. I am aware. My question is, where are you getting your history, that Nigeria defeated a group that couldn't have been involved in a war since, at least on paper, they were NOT A MERCENARY GROUP IN 2017. Apologies for screaming out my point in bold, capital letters, I feel that there's no other way to get my point across. |

fuckJones: Which Wagner group, and where are you getting this "history" from? Is it the same Wagner group that only acknowledged themselves to be mercenaries in 2022 that was also in operation in 2017? 1 Like |

Racoon: The tears have not even begun. Give it another two months or so. If they are lucky, many of them will be able to book space under the various bridges that they will be sleeping under. Their big champion, Tinubu and not ECOWAS(we need to be very clear about this) is mulling "military intervention" in Niger. Do you want to guess why. especially when the events in Niger has direct implications on the security of his position as "president". The trouble with "military intervention" is that it will visit catastrophe upon Nigeria. See the current suffering, take it and multiply by 100 fold to get an estimate of the level of suffering that will come upon this country should this drug induced "military intervention" idea come to pass, but of course Tinubu does not see anything wrong with the common people being desperately impoverished, as long as it advances his progress, it's all good. |

Ajokeolore: The case of Osun state is understandable, they voted for Atiku. Oyo case is hilarious though because those ones were on lockdown for Tinubu. I guess their vote isn't favoring them and their families afterall. 2 Likes |

HardBishop: Yes, no wonder, after spending like 20 years and some 3 trillion Dollars to evict the Taliban, they ran for their dear lives, hanging in hoards on a flying plane(a most pathetic sight which we all saw on TV) only for the Taliban to return back to power in Afganistan. |

fuckJones: I guess you skipped the part where the leader of Wagner group(Russian forces) hailed the coup and pledged military support, as well as the part where the self-proclaimed military dictator of Niger did formally ask for Russian support? I guess also that you didn't read the part where at least 3 different countries that share borders with Niger are Russian allies and already host Russian military bases? Politics / Re: US Throws Weight Behind ECOWAS And President Tinubu On Niger by Alusiizizi(m): 3:43pm On Jul 31, 2023 |
post=124784799: We no longer live in a unipolar world. BRIC will not only rush in to fill the void that these sanctions will leave but might even see Niger fare better. The "15 day deadline" will come to pass, those soldiers will go nowhere and nothing will happen. Wanna know why? Because Russia has been reached out to by Niger for help, and once Russia establishes any kind of presence in Niger, the game is up. Most Nigeriens are in support of this coup, therefore the Russians will enjoy their support, then the west will find themselves faced with the uniquely challenging task of explaining how they can be going against the will of the people, fighting the people and at the same time posing as a champion for democracy without sounding like a bunch of hypocrites. 5 Likes |
Politics / Re: Russia Has Taken Niger. Can Nigeria Handle An Impending Proxy War In Niger? by Alusiizizi(m): 3:33pm On Jul 31, 2023 |
Armaggedon: Perfect observation, Russia WILL find a new home in Niger, probably within a week or two, U.S. will be driven out, probably in the same time period as well. What will probably not happen is the pipe-dream that ECOWAS refers to as military intervention. You want to know why? First of all, it is not only Nigeriens that are happy with this military coup, peoples from other ECOWAS nations, especially Nigeria seem to be happy about this coup as well. Let's face it, democracy, for whatever reason, has turned out to be a disaster in West Africa in particular and Africa in general, so how does one drum up support for a military intervention that they do not believe in? Where are they going to get their army to invade a sovereign nation? You are also correct, of all the ECOWAS countries that will suffer if this drug induced hallucination of "military intervention" comes to be, Nigeria will be the worst hit. You think insecurity/ISWAP/Boko-Haram is bad as it is now? Consider multiplying that problem 100-fold and then tell me with a straight face that Nigeria will still be alive after this. The truth is that getting trapped into this delusion will be the force that will force Nigeria to break up irreversibly. Biafra will break away almost as soon as the "shit hits the fan" so to speak. SW may linger a while longer but then even they will break away. I have a suspicion that the only reason why this current Nigerian president is even thinking aloud of such a ridiculous option is due to a presumption that his position as president would be more secure, disregarding completely the effect that his decision will have on the Nigerian people and Nigeria as a whole, just as his recent policies, as soon as he entered office, seemed completely devoid of any consideration of the effect/sufferings that will be visited on the Nigerian people and Nigeria in general. Yet another selfish, self-aggrandizing move to advance his progress at the expense of everyone else, so to summarize my answer to your question, Nigeria has no hope for survival if this war actually happens. waledeji: It is not about knowing everything. It is about seeing what one has before him and using your experience/education/wisdom/intelligence to estimate what could happen in the future, on the "action-consequence" level. 2 Likes |

mrvitalis: If the majority of Nigeriens wanted this coup, then the war is already lost by ECOWAS before it even started, because from what I can see, the majority of Nigerians/ECOWAS definitely have no interest in this war whatsoever. Fighting soldier that are duty bound to risk their lives on the battle-field(regardless of their opinion on the reason why they are fighting) is one thing, but it is a completely different Gorilla when fighting against a people that would happily risk their lives to defend their families, as well as their ways of life. |

optionalY09: You guys should get educated every once in a while. First of all, what does Buhari gain by inviting conflict to his own country? France is the culprit here. They feed off their former colonies, draining the blood out of their bodies like a vampire that refuses to go back to its' coffin, US and the west, being the bloodsucking opportunists that they are, see an opportunity to get into Africa, again!! From what I gather, all of Frances' former colonies send some form of tribute to Paris and the former leader of Niger was a friend of the French. When the Military took over Niger(and yes, we must all get used to Military rule in Niger, a coup that lasts for more than 24 hours is a success, as said by Garba) one of the first things that they did was cut ties with France, including their required tribute, that's the real reason why US and EU are so interested in such a desperately poor Nation, whose national GDP is not even up to the yearly revenue of many rural towns in the U.S.A. |

sweetsandy4luv: I usually don't lend credit to this Garba, even if he said "hello", but I agree with his assessment 100% on this one. Going into a military altercation with Niger would be a fools decision, and one that Nigeria and ECOWAS will end up paying for dearly. Niger has sought the aid of Russia, and Putin/Russia, having already shown keen commitment to his African partners will be surely respond to Niger substantially, the one player that will definitely not show, especially when they see Russia in the action(and which, I am sure, that a vegetable like Tinubu will be counting on for military support) is EU, US and NATO. |

Ebubu2: The choice of revolting against the solution is not even a luxury at this point, only an illusion of such. At this point, I don't think that they will have any other options. I used to live in a society where such destructive conditions befell a portion of that society. They too revolted, just as you have pointed out that the Niger-Delta will revolt against the solution, but eventually even they will be forced to accept solution or extinction, just as the aforementioned portion of the society in question was forced to accept absorption against extinction. |

Ebubu2: As far as I can tell, that entire culture and their people are done. I always tell folks, the only way to destroy a society, completely and irreversibly, is to destroy a single generation. Throw bombs at them and they will rebuild. Shoot bullets at them and the remainder among them will repopulate and grow stronger, but lead just one generation of their society into that abyss that you described for us and that society will never return. I imagine that their only hope now is to be absorbed somehow by their less corrupted neighbors. |
