LONG LIVE

More than half of the senators are drawn from northern Nigeria through the undue large number of states proliferated in the north by foul use of land mass as yard stick.

Those northern senators who can't even speak coherently are waiting for Bill to Establish Grazing Fields for Cattle all Over Nigeria and Bill for incorporating Sharia Criminal Codes To the Constitution. The next is any Bill to Enable Underage Girls be Married and become Eligible to Vote.

Any day any of these Bills come up for voting, the executive arm of government may entice a few senators from the south to join these dormant northern Senators to vote YES and the Bills shall pass. And people of southern Nigeria shall stand with mouth agape in surprises.
Worse, most Nigerians from the south don't even understand that it's through the undue large number of states proliferated in the once one northern region of Nigeria that southern Nigeria politicians are made siddon de look in Nigeria's political process.

It's absolute bad business to leave the about two million people in Orlu zone without a public university, while Owerri zone has five universities funded by the public.

Must Owerri zone that hosts the capital of Imo state also have a university, talkless have all the five universities in Imo state which you named?

What do you say if any government starts to relocate all of those universities in Owerri to other zones of Imo state?

How u wan take tidy all those state owned?

Nawa ooh, where is the money to run all those institutions?

By charging appropriate tuition.

All over the world any town that has a university, even one, never fails, the town grows from strength to strength.

Add the billions of Naira that flow into Owerri from these institutions each month to the monthly federal government allocations to Imo state that mostly end up in Owerri because modern infrastructures have to be provided in Owerri to keep these five institutions and students and staff of the universities, you shall understand why Owerri has developed into two large cities, while Orlu and Okigwe remain static - like rural areas.

When Imo state was created in 1976, there were hardly big differences between the levels of urbanization between Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe.

Let this new university be mostly owned by Imo state government.
There are too many Imo indegenes qualified for university education but can't be admitted because of lack of places in the existing universities.

Now that construction has not started, let the southeast repredentatives ask for the rerouting to a more economically viable route from Cslabar to Uyo to Aba to Owerri to Orlu to Nnewi to Onitsha to Asabs to Agbor to Benin then to the other populated towns, then ending at Lagos

Two spurs, Abs to PH and Warri to Benin can be built to complete the circle.

Politics / Re: Senators From The South Back Buhari On Inclusion Lag-calabar Rail In 2016 Budget by amakenny: 8:30am On Apr 14, 2016
A flaw in the Calabar to Lagos rail route:

A route targeting the highly populated and business aeas from Calabar to Uyo to Owerri to Orlu to Nnewi to Onitsha to Asaba to Agbor to Benin to Lagos;

Instead, for Warri alone, they diverted the route from Portharcourt to Warri to Benin to Lagos.

But the long stretch from Portharcourt to Warri to Benin may contain population and businesses ten times less than the population and businesses from Portharcourt to Aba to Owerri to Orlu to Nnewi to Onitsha to Asaba to Agbor to Benin.

Railway lines target and follow higher population areas, carrying crude oil must be secondary.

The designers of the Calabar through Warri to Benin rail route has crude oil business first in mind, not profitability and sustainability.

In the developed world, railway routes that are not profitable are closing down.

Were Amaechi and Jonathan not fighting themselves in government when the first ever standard gauge rail line in Nigeria was started between Kaduna to Abuja, instead of from Portharcourt to Warri, or from Portharcourt to Aba to Uyo, where the first of such rail line is supposed to have been started?

The Niger delta area is supposed to have been competing with Dubai in development if Nigeria is seen as one country by rest of Nigeria outside the Niger delta. That's the fact.

Things have gone sour about one Nigeria, so some groups outside the Niger delta are now struggling to have the war booty to themselves while Nigeria lasts.

A governor who is bent on losing political relevance after his guber tenure just because of his hatred for some people in a section of the state.

Even if Okorocha builds a tower of Babel in Owerri and makes the city another Abuja, it adds little or nothing to his political worth after his tenure as governor.

Ethno/Religious bigotry and greed made Tinubu to go and BEG Buhari to come out to contest the 2015 elections. Tinubu openly bragged that he did that.

Tinubu and his former ACN people boast they knew that Buhari is an economic illiterate but still voted him president of Nigeria - in the 21st century.

After Buhari became president, Tinubu collected the office of FIRS through Tinubu boy, Fowler appointed by BUhari. After the Petroleum Ministry, FIRS which generated more than N4.8 Trillion last year is the second largest earner of money for Nigeria.

In fact, too many people in Orlu believe Okorocha has no intention of replacing the old stadium he dismantled. Building of that thing called stadium has lasted more than three years.

Peter Obi Cannot Make Ihedioha Governor In Imo – Okorocha
March 4, 2015

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has declared that no matter what the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi says or does, he cannot make Chief Emeka Ihedioha governor in Imo state.

According to the governor, since Ihedioha commenced his campaign, Obi has visited Imo State more than five times for the rallies of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State. And on each occasion, he said, Obi takes ‘unfortunate delight in attacking’ the governor of Imo state.

Speaking through Sam Onwuemeodo, his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Okorocha noted that it seems Obi derives joy attacking his person but have forgotten he left more of liabilities than asset in Anambra state after eight years in office.

The statement read in part, “The only contribution Chief Obi has made to national politics for the South-East was to mortgage both the body and soul of APGA to PDP. Having stifled APGA, he has now become the Chief Campaigner for the PDP and its candidates. That is also the reason that, for the eight years he was governor in Anambra State, he could not add any value to APGA. In fact, he could not even secure a simple majority in the Anambra State House of Assembly for the Party (APGA).”

He told Obi to exercise restraints as he was laboring in vain, if the essence of his attacks on Okorocha was to install Ihedioha.

“And for the PDP and its governorship Candidate in Imo, they must have given Chief Obi a dead political project to execute. The Candidate or the PDP in Imo has no programme. They have nothing to lay hand on for the twelve years the Party was in Power in the State. That is why; they have been anchoring their campaigns on attacks and mudslinging against Governor Okorocha and his administration”, the statement read.

Okorocha maintained that the PDP in Imo State is comatose at the moment, because the Party wasted the 12 years they held sway in government.

“The Party’s guber Candidate cannot also help the situation because he is contesting against a man that has become an enigma in the State at present, looking at his monumental achievements in less than four years and compared with the twelve years of the PDP that left a very bitter taste in the mouths of the people of the State”, the statement stressed.

http://crimefacts.org/peter-obi-cannot-make-ihedioha-governor-in-imo-okorocha/

Okorocha and Owerri Municipal Lga where he worked for four years shall make Gov. Okorocha return for second term.

Was Okorocha asleep for four years when he ignored the Lga that gave him the highest number of votes in 2011? All he in it did was enlarge a total of about 2km township roads built by his predecessor- then a 2 block school of health.
