Politics › Re: National Assembly Workers Issue Strike Notice Over Minimum Wage by ambale(m): 8:38am On Mar 19, 2021
We have said this few times on this forum.
We reiterate below.....

HOW NIGERIA CAN PAY MINIMUM WAGE COMFORTABLY..........

1. Abolish SECURITY VOTE in NIGERIA. Nigeria will pay N45,000 minimum wage comfortably.

2. a) Abolish CONSTITUENCY PROJECT FUNDS
b) Reduce number of ADVISERS to SENATE PRES(2), HOUSE SPEAKER(2), GOVs(4), PRESIDENT(5), VP(2)
c) Reduce current ALL Political Office Holders PAY CHEQUES by 51.5%, without exception
d) Do away with special remuneration to POLITICAL ADVISERS & PUBLIC SERVANTS e.g; Purchase of Private Vehicles, Houses, granting Govt paid Vacations, paying for 1st & Business Class Transportations, etc, etc...
e) Abolish payment of OVERSEAS MEDICAL BILLS for Political Office Holders.
f) Eliminate PRIVATE PRACTICE in public workforce
g) Eliminate participation of Public Workforce in Partisan Politics.
h) Institute EMPLOYMENT BY MERIT, and eliminate UNDEREMPLOYMENT.
i) Review and eliminate allocation of Govt paid POLITICAL AIDES & SUPPORT STAFF to Political Office Holders.

With (1) + (2) Nigeria would pay a minimum wage of N65,000 comfortably

3. Move Nigeria MORE to Private Sector Driven Economy
a) Privatise ALL of Federal Govt PARASTATALS & reduce Federal Direct Funded AGENCIES to 68% of the present.
b) Privatise ALL of STATE Govt PARASTATALS & reduce State Direct Funded AGENCIES to 19% of the present.
c) Reduce current DIRECT LABOUR JOB participation by 49%
d) Encourage more Working Hours until Nigeria economic stabilizes
e) Discourage UNIONISM in Public Workforce

With (1) + (2) + (3), Nigeria would pay a minimum wage of N101,500 comfortably.

4) Institute DEATH PENALTY to proven THEFT OF PUBLIC FUNDS no matter how little, and LIFE Jail Sentences for COLLABORATORS.

With (1) + (2) + (3) & (4), Nigeria would pay a minimum wage of N203,500 comfortably.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA
END OF DISCUSSION!

Chioma Adichie,
We are highly honour that your very first and only comment after 2 Years and 9 months of joining Nairaland is to 'totally endorse' one of our posts.
That means a lot.
A better Nigeria is all we want.
God bless you ma!
This is sure a very good option
But will it be implemented
We just need to do more collectively.

Politics › Re: #EndSARS: Drama as police seek Eromosele’s detention for 30 more days by ambale(m): 10:26pm On Nov 16, 2020
This government keeps complicating issues, the presidency needs to know some senses into the police at this time. They are fast losing all Goodwill that's if there is any left. The same thing you are accused of is what they are still doing.
Illegal detention, gagging of suspects, I doubt if the Nigerian police will ever be the same anymore.
Thanks to the incompetence of the police authorities.

thesicilian:
Pelosi has never hidden the fact that she hates Trump. So she's obviously happy to be rubbing salt on his injuries.

But the funny thing is, I see "Nigeria 2015" all over the current US political landscape, a situation where the leader they are all running towards now turns out to become their worst nightmare.
You got this all wrong, I'm not a fan of the US or the candidates, but next time don't put Nigeria and USA in the same sentence, the US has a working structure that all officials must follow. Their police will not turn bad overnight, human rights will not be abused and there is no rubber stamp Senate over there.

But if after the protests, we come get things right nko. Many more people will be fulfilled, we see this as a fight to stop some people livelihood, while some don't even have a life to live at all.
I think you are the one that is cruel here.

festacman:
Conscience is an open wound, until truth can heal it.

I am beginning to believe that the use of soldiers instead of riot policemen to disperse protesters who were disobeying lawful curfew at Lekki Tollgate may be wrong but the impression that masaccre and genocide happened was a big lie. There is no way trained soldiers would have shot directly at scampering protesters without the Lekki Tollgate being littered with corpses. Yes, the soldiers used maximum force but they obviously shot to scare and disperse and not to masaccre as emotional social media hype conveyed.

Truth will set you free and it doesn't matter if you are rightly an angry youth. I haven't seen any evidence that somebody died at the Tollgate the night of 20.10.20 to warrant the hype of massacre or genocide.

29.10.20 was neither a massacre nor a genocide but an unnecessary use of military rather than riot police to disperse resolute protesters.
Here yourself out mahn, what is even the cost of a life to people like you. You are just disgusting to say the least.
Politics › Re: #ENDSARS: Why Is The Endsars Hashtag No Longer Trending? by ambale(m): 4:57pm On Oct 22, 2020
OZOnNengiTheory:
grin grin grin

There is an adage in nupeland which says "alugua wayn kunza, shey da jiun" which means 'leave am' no dey enter person head, na 'go do am' people dey like to hear. Before this madness called protest got to the stage where we couldn't differentiate between pissful protesters and peaceful hoodlums, a few wise people on nairaland warned those who cared to listen but what did they get? The forum keeps record, please check and see for yourself

Those who were calling for an end to the protest got a few likes and shares from people on this forum which showed that only a few people wanted it to end...and anyone who typed #wemove #revolutionIsNow #poweroftheyoots #buharimustgo and other meaningless slogans were praised by a majority of Nigerians..but now, it is the other way round

This only proves one thing. We love to learn the hard way in this country. We don't have a mind of our own. All we know how to do is to follow trend. Today if someone starts a trend like #DeathToAllCows, don't be surprised to find Nigerians killing cows and showing it off on social media without asking themselves questions.

Many people who were among those who started the endSARS agitation opted out when they saw that it was getting out of control but they were called names. Nobody wanted to listen! Celebrities were joining in their numbers as they were being called out and bashed for not joining..

All these while, the wolves were smiling at the stupidity of Nigerians. It was an opportunity to get what they ve always wanted. These wolves without mincing words are politicians in the opposition, those aggrieved in the ruling party, and those who wanted to be on their own.

They have gotten what they wanted, no thanks to the our 'wise' yooots.
Typing....
Alaye we need to end people like you in this country

That's your own opinion.
But in the sight of the law, you are presumed to be Innocent until proven otherwise by a court of competent jurisdiction.
The job of the police officer is just to investigate a crime, make arrests and send same to the courts.
But here police is the complainant, the defendant, the judge and it's all about negotiation for them.
We can't continue this way, we assume people are criminals because of their lifestyle.
Who does that?

Since morning arrests has not been made. We must have sense by force.
If bokoharam members are released after training and they are not harming the citizens, y should prisoners be of much concern.
