Nonsense is when every other employer and employee go on vacation, but somehow expect the legislators not to go for theirs.

Isn't that selfish?

Didn't they show patriotism and good work ethic by delaying the recess to accommodate the late nomination of Ministers by the Tinubu Presidency?

As you are not a Robot, so are they not a Robot.

Or due to the "situation" in the country, you want them to pass a labour law that all employees must continue working without vacation and all employers must stop paying vacation allowance?

Let stop reasoning like a mob.
You be werey sincerely

How many companies dey give unnecessary leave like this.

I ask again what is their work that warrants them a long leave?

They practically do nothing, even the screening, we saw so many questionable characters there and they just pass everyone

Continue supporting madness, one day you go mad true true

How could he have repaired the refineries while paying subsidy ?
One had to go for the other. We have no choice but to endure the difficult time while hoping and praying our leaders get it right.
The current hardship is a global pandemic.
So na only subsidy we dey pay from our budget?

How much is even the subsidy, cos what we have now is over 300% increase, are you saying the government have been paying more than 100% to keep fuel cheap??

Who and who have benefited from this anomaly and is the government ready ti prosecute them? No one knows the answer to all of these but we must suffer, so our leaders can live large

SmartPolician:
Do you know what it takes to produce something in this country?

How will you power your machines? With diesel or petrol that's very expensive?

In fact, many people would prefer to import things than produce in Nigeria because importing from China is cheaper than producing in Nigeria.

Nigeria has no enabling infrastructure for driving businesses like steady power supply. If you run on diesel, you will incur huge losses.
Many of them have never ran a business before, they think its the fraudulent activities they get involved with

Some business men already down tools as their machines starts to misbehave and no money for maintenance

This is an opportunity for Nigerian entrepreneurs to start local manufacturing of most of the things Nigeria imports. It is the only panacea to reverse high rate of joblessness in the economy. It is an apt response to the current situation of the economy. Check out Japan. They became the second largest economy in the world until recently by heavily devaluing their currency against the dollar. Tinubu is on the right path.
You talk as if you are not in Nigeria, businesses are closing down because of the harsh economy and you still advising new ones to join the fray.

What sort of right path are you on?

Sharing our commonwealth as usual.

Many households do not get up to N2m yearly, yet our distinguished senators just got N2m as pocket money for resting, even though they have not done anything meaningful yet.

This is not even part of their salary and other allowances.
I wonder the company that gives almost two months leave to all workers simultaneously

These guys are plain evil

What exactly are they doing that warrants going on leave?

The steps Tinubu is taking is what any sensible person who knows his onions would take in light of situation we find ourselves in Nigeria.

A country who spend 90% of her revenue to service debt can’t continue servicing electricity, fuel, fx etc else it will implode.
Can you detail the steps to us?

The Dangote Mega refinery will kick start soon!
Its a private company and its guaranteed that, they will reach commercial production stage!

The best The FG can do about government owned refinery, is to privatize!

It is glaring and has been reaffirmed that, The FG cannot get those refinery's to maximum production capacity. Through a transparent and credible privatization, that's the only way we can get those infrastructures working at full capacity!
See excuse for government

But they can take home huge bonuses and still loot the rest, even if you privatize it, if corruption is stilll not eliminated, we still in same situation

Olodo IPOB everywhere

The reason is obvious but BITTER and HATEFUL IPOB can't see it.

The reason is simple, we must keep the West African Sub-region stable and safe. A destabilisation of the sub region will lead to refugees flocking into Nigeria from Niger

BokoHaram became stronger after the fall of Libya. Imagine Niger that is just in our backyard
So na war go stop refugee from coming into Nigeria?

Why will Naira not fall when all we do is to import everything even up to ordinary Tooth pick. Let's start Producing and Manufacturing at least 60 percent of things we import and watch our Naira regain it strength.

People come out with ideas daily, did you or the government supports them?

I posted an business idea that i was working on some years on this same platform, about two guys started attacking me to go look for partners elsewhere

Importation is encouraged, but it must be done in a healthy way by:
1. Exporting to counteract imports (e.g. China).
2. Exporting valuable things not just "something." Refined petroleum is more valuable than crude oil in the same way that Hershey's chocolate is more valuable than cocoa powder.
3. Exporting human capital and aesthetic capital e.g. tech services, financial services, entertainment, sports, tourism, etc.
Agreed 💯

We need to stop importation without delay
You cant stop importation

Please lets learn about the economies of international trade, you bring something to the table, other nations also brings something to the table.

Stopping importation will increase smuggling activities which in turn drives inflation highly

What we should do is fund a competitive environment here and that will reduce the effect
