Prestige Newspaper has unveiled its highly anticipated list of Top 50 Role Models in Ogun State, and three notable individuals, Commissioner for Forestry, Engr. Oludotun Taiwo, renowned banker and former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Tunde Lemo, and Justice Bakre made the list for their outstanding contributions to society.

The list, which was unveiled today at the book launch ceremony in Abeokuta by the Prestige Newspaper, an "Oldest community Newspaper" highlights individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and commitment to the development of Ogun State.

The book, the third in the series, celebrates 50 Nigerians who have made significant contributions to the development of Ogun State.

According to the Publisher/CEO, Mr. Dada Olanipekun, the honorees include technocrats, administrators, politicians, paramilitary personnel, and other professionals who have demonstrated sterling qualities worthy of emulation.


The Publisher said " Although, those being celebrated in this edition are not entirely indigenes of Ogun State, the authors have found their contributions to the state worthy of emulation and documentation for posterity.

The top role models, Olanipekun said had been painstakingly chosen as a result of their contributions to the development of state.

The Commissioner for Forestry in Ogun State, Engr. Oludotun Taiwo popularly known as (Twinny) who is among the 50 Top Role Models has been instrumental in driving sustainable forest management practices in the state.

Engr. Oludotun is the current Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry. He was appointed in 2023 due to his deep commitment in giving Ogun State a focused and qualitative governance in the "Building Our Future Together Agenda" of the Ogun State Governor.

A Registered Engineer with the Council of Registered Engineers in Nigeria (COREN), Engr. Taiwo was a member of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) Metering Code Panel between 2010-2012.

A pragmatic Engineer driven by his vision to make positive impact, Engr. Oludotun Taiwo worked with Energy Prepayment Meter Manufacturer firm - Unistar Hi-Tech Systems Ltd, Lagos where he rose to the position of General Manager before his resignation in 2015 to pursue his political ambition.

Due to his policy development experience and leadership skills, Engr. Hon. Taiwo was appointed as the Ogun State Commissioner for Rural Development in 2020 where he played a critical role in driving inclusive and sustainable development in rural areas of Ogun State, improving the quality of life for rural residents, and promoting social and economic progress in the Gateway State, the position he resigned to contest for a honourable seat in the Federal House of Representatives.

He obtained his National Diploma in Electrical Electronics Engineering from the then Ogun State Polytechnic (Now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic), Ojeere, Abeokuta, Ogun State in 1996 and Higher National Higher National Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering from the famous Yaba College of Technology, Lagos in 2001. He successfully completed his mandatory National Youth Service Corps in Delta State in 2003. In the quest to broaden his knowledge, he went to the prestigious Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso for his Post Graduate Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering, where he graduated in 2010 in flying colours. Not resting on his oars, Engr. Hon. Taiwo later had the opportunity to attend the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, USA, where he obtained a Certificate in Public Utility Regulation & Strategy in 2009.

Engr. Oludotun Taiwo has actively participated in various technical and management trainings, workshops, seminars and conferences, both locally and internationally. His contribution to humanity has been recognized by various NGOs and he has earned several outstanding awards and accolades from various recognized bodies.

The Managing Director of Jamsalod Nigeria Limited, Engineer Jamiu Ogundele has been awarded with exemplary leadership awards by Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta today 26th of July 2024.



According to Distinguish Senator Oluwashina Aramide Bello, he said Engineer Ongundele Jamiu was awarded based on his exemplary leadership acumen and philanthropy to the people at large.

OGUN ORDERS ILLEGAL OCCUPANTS OUT OF FOREST RESERVES

Ogun state government has asked illegal occupants in its Forest Reserves at Area J3 in Ijebu-East Local Government Area, to vacate and desist from habit of selling government lands.

Commissioner for Forestry, Engr. Taiwo Oludotun made this known during a fact-finding visit to the reserved, saying individual or group that has no legitimate business in the forest would not be allowed to stay.

Engr. Oludotun, who emphasised the need to protect all government forest reserves against criminality perpetrated by unscrupulous elements, noted that the present administration would continue to ensure safety and proper management of the reserves.

‘’Ogun State government will not fold its arms and allow people who do not have business in this reserve to stay. Those harbouring criminals should desist as government is ready to take drastic action against any culprit’’, he warned.

The Commissioner, said identity cards and other means of identification would henceforth be made compulsory for legitimate occupants, directing Forestry officials to take data of people living in the area including gender, occupation, state origin, among others, and forward it to the headquarters, within a shortest possible time.

Earlier in his remarks, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Timothy Olatunji urged Baales in the area to protect the reserves by sustaining tree planting all through the year.

He said farmers in the reserve were permitted to plant cassava, maize and other food crops, noting that such agricultural practices should not be done at the detriment of trees that were planted, promising government’s assistance in seedlings provision to achieve the goal.

Responding, representative of Baales in the area, Chief Adewale Aderinwale, appreciated the Commissioner and the management team for the visit, assuring them of their cooperation at all times.

Highpoint of the visit was symbolic tree planting exercise carried out by the Commissioner, Permanent Secretary and the management staff at Aba Ekiti in the area.

OBA LIPEDE MARKET INFERNO: OGUN TO INVESTIGATE ROOT CAUSE, PLAN TIMELY REMEDIATION



The Ogun State Government has vowed to do a thorough investigation to ascertain the root cause of the Saturday night inferno which gutted some parts of Oba Lipede International Market,located at Kuto, Abeokuta to mitigate future recurrence.



It also promised that experts would be deployed to determine the impact of the fire and conduct integrity test on the building despite that only some parts of the market was affected by the inferno .



The Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela made this known during an on-the-spot assessment of the marke on Sunday.



About four shops and stalls were reported to have been gutted by fire around 10.00pm on Saturday but the Ogun State Fire Service men swiftly moved in to rescue the situation.





Sofela after his physical assessment said that if remediation is limited to the areas impacted by the fire, the government will not delay to come to site.



The Commissioner who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, Directors in the Ministry and Market Development Board as well as Iyaloja of the Market, Mrs. Tejumade Bakre, among other top market leaders, noted that the main building of the market which was constructed over 43 years was a testament to the commitment of the present administration to maintaining its social investment assets.



Describing Prince Dapo Abiodun as a compassionate Governor who feels the pains of the citizenry, Sofela pointed that the State's helmsman would come up with plans to ameliorate the pains of traders eho suffered one loss or the other to the inferno.



According to him, we will take proper look at the totality of the environment based on professional advice.



"Don't forget that this market is about 43 years old and we have been trying to keep it in shape by the benevolence of the Governor who is committed to maintaining the social investment assets of the State.



"The swift response of our fire service men on Saturday night is the type you get from our government in situations where lives and properties are threatened.



"In this case, investigations on the root cause of the inferno will come in earnest to mitigate future recurrence. Our experts would do a thorough test on the integrity of the building and we will follow professional advice on our next steps . Sofela stated.

The Ogun State Government has charged operators of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to leverage the various initiatives of the present administration geared towards boosting their businesses.

This admonition was given by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela at the hybrid stakehokders engagement meeting with MSMEs operators as well as Business Membership Organisations (BMOs) held at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta and on digital platform.

Sofela said the State government had implemented strategic reforms and initiatives aimed at improving business-enabling environment and increase private sector investments.

He said the reforms were structured to reduce the cost and time to complete business processes, adding that the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration introduced incentives, streamlined business registration processes through automation.

The Commissioner also pointed out that the State government included MSMEs in government contracts with improved access to finance to create a more conducive environment for entrepreneurs.

Sofela further said that the government was promoting digital literacy and adoption of e-commerce platforms among entrepreneurs through partnership with technological companies to provide affordable digital tools and learning to ensure the MSMEs operators in the State are not left behind.

He also mentioned that significant investment had been made in developing industrial parks and business hub and economic zones just as he made reference to the Small Scale industries Land Acquisition Schemes (SILAS) in Ijebu Isiwo, which he said was an initiative of the present administration envisioned to serve as a catalyst for business growth.

"We have introduced various funding windows like the Ogun SME Financial Empowerment Scheme to address the prevailing challenges confronting enterpreneurs and lack of access to finance as well as high cost associated with business operations.

"We are committed to building the capacity of our MSMEs having realized the need for enhanced skills and knowledge in business management, financial planning and marketing among our MSMEs," Sofela said.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, appreciated the stakeholders for their collaboration, just as he solicited for their cooperation towarss achieving more milestones.

According to him, the Prince Abiodun led government had many more lofty initiatives in the offing and you are expected to key into it any time we call on you.

In his remarks, the National President, Association of Small Business Owners of Nigeria (ASBON), Dr. Femi Egbesola, who described Sofela as an SME-friendly Commissioner, assured the government of the support of small business owners in the State.

The meeting had in attendance the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Association of Small Business Owners of Nigeria (ASBON), Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Ogun State Signage Agency (OGSAA), Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS), Association of Nigerian Women in Business Network (ANWBN).

Others were Cobblers and Leather Artisans Association of Nigeria, Association of Skill and Vocational Artisans Association of Nigeria (ASVAN), Ogun State Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), among others.

The Obaship tussle in Ogunmakin Kingdom has turned another dimension, as the High Court sitting in Abeokuta under the Honorable Justice S.O Adeniyi has adjourned hearing of Obaship case between one Chief Oluseye Olatunde Olaogun and Busari Adenshile and seven others till October, 2024.



The adjournment was due to the inability of Chief Oluseye Olatunde Olaogun counsel to serve the defendants appropriately until today 24th of June 2024 at the court premises.

Cholera Outbreak: Amuzu Urges Ogun Health Ministry To Stop Spread Of Ailment Via Media Campaign



Following the devastating effects of the outbreak of cholera disease spreading across the Nigeria, the house of Representative candidate, Hon. Toyin Amuzu has called on the Ogun State Ministry of Health to embark on serious sensitization programme through the media to caution the spread of the disease.



He said, the spread of the ailment was in high dimension and that if nothing is done urgently, that it will be difficult to control it.



He maintained that it is paramount for the Ogun State Ministry of health to embark on serious mass sensitization on the devastating effects of the ailment through aggressive media campaign to educate the people of the state on what to do to avoid contacting and spreading the disease.



"The Ministry of Health should embark on aggressive sensitization campings through the print, electronic and other social media channels to sensitize Ogun State Residents on the symptoms to look out for the need to promptly visit the hospital for treatment, causes and prevention of this deadly disease to avoid loss of lives”he said.



Meanwhile, statistics as shown by Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, NCDC, which confirmed that as at June 13,2024 that about 64 cases have been recorded with 30 deaths and Ogun State was said to be among the ten States mentioned to have contributed to 90% of the total cases currently recorded.

Ogun State Govt. Declares Support For Companies Across The 20 LGA





In a bid to strengthen the existence of industries in the face of the economic realities in the country, the Ogun State Government has vowed to do all within its means to support the growth of companies across its 20 local government areas.

This was revealed by the Commissioner for Industries, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, during his strategic visit to African Industries Group ( AIG),Agbara in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of the State.

Sofela in company of the Permanent Secretary and other top Management staff of the Ministry were received by the Managing Director of the company, Chief Sohan Bagla into the expansive facility.



Assuring investors of government support, the Commissioner said that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led government was intentional about creating an enabling environment not only for the existing business to thrive but also to attract new investors into the Gateway State.

He described the visit as a strategic move to further consolidate on the existing relationship between the State government and industries for a better result.

The Commissioner who appreciated various companies operating in Ogun for their resilience and belief in not just Nigeria but the State despite the present economic situation in the country, pointed out that there would be light at the end of the tunnel.

According to him, the present administration has put various reforms in place to strengthen the existence of industries.

"A lot has gone into our land administration system to fast-track the process of getting title documents without delay. We have a Business Enabling Council which consists of strategic stakeholders where we meet regularly to discuss how businesses operating in the State can do well on an incremental basis. The on-going infrastructural upgrade across the State is a demonstration of government willingness to redefine the landscape of Ogun State.

"The Prince Dapo Abiodun led government is focused on creating a conducive environment that will improve business growth and attract new ones. That is the reason we will do all within our means for industries growth so that you can continue to contribute your quota to the development of our dear State and Nigeria at large," Sofela said.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, said the commitment of the State government to addressing sundry issues bordering on Industry, Trade and Investment was second to none, just as he pointed out that the position of Ogun as the industrial capital of Nigeria was not by sheer luck but hard work.

In his remarks, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AIG, Chief Sohan Bagla, disclosed that the company had been existing in Ogun for 52 years given the strategic location of the State and her laudable policy initiatives .

He assured that his organisation will continue to positively impact its various host communities in its Corporate Social Responsibility engagements without leaving any stone unturned.

On his part, the Group Executive Director of the company Barrister Uche Iwuamadi, described the Gateway State as one of the most peaceful in the country, which he said informed the decision of the organisation to concentrate 60 per cent of its national investment in the State.

While revealing the readiness of the company to increase its investment in Ogun by additional 20 per cent, Iwuamadi lauded the appointment of Mr. Sofela as the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, saying it was a round peg in a round hole considering his knowledge in the all-important sector.

Ogun Commissioner, Oludotun Vows To Protect Forest Reserves From Illegal Activities



The Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry, Engr Taiwo Oludotun, has vowed to take action against illegal occupants of the state's nine forest reserves.


Speaking at a press conference held at his Okemosan office in Abeokuta, the state capital, Oludotun stated that the illegal occupants are causing economic losses and security threats by destroying conserved tree species and building structures within the reserves.

The commissioner specifically mentioned the Omo Forest Reserve, where illegal occupants have built houses and cultivated cocoa farms, leading to the destruction of preserved tree species.


He denied allegations of brutalization of the illegal occupants, explaining that the ministry had held meetings with them and advised them to stop their activities.

Oludotun accused the inhabitants of Etemi Gerald, a natural heritage area within the Omo Reserve, of engaging in nefarious activities, including building houses and cultivating cocoa farms without permission.

He alleged that they had also attacked security operatives and stockpiled arms and ammunition.

The commissioner emphasized that the state government would not allow illegal activities to continue in the forest reserves, which are meant to be protected for research and conservation purposes.

The forest Commissioner also warned the illegal occupants to vacate the reserves or face consequences.


According to him "It is a known fact that farming and erection of permanent structures within the forest reserves without the consent of the State government is illegal"

"The Ministry held series of meetings with them, where they were warned to desist from the wanton destruction of the National heritage"

"The inhabitants of Etemi Gerald continued the expansion of Cocoa farms and structures in the prohibited areas. All efforts to stop them from further expansion of their cocoa farms into Queen's forest of the conservation zone proved abortive.

"Surprisingly, they constituted themselves as Militant groups in the area, stockpiled arms and ammunition with which they attack people and security agents"

One of the Militant groups spearheaded by Mr Akinlolu Kehinde who is a kingpin in that area has on many occasions hindered the officials of the Ministry from performing their official assignments"

Engr. Oludotun hinted that the ministry after series of warnings, commenced the destruction of illegal farms and structures in the forest reserves, one of such destruction was recently carried out on 20th March 2024 adding that the destruction was carried out in conjunction with the law enforcement agency officers of Nigeria Police.

He said, during the demolition exercise, the team that went for the operation were fired at by unknown group of Militant men hidden in the forest reserve but were subdued by the security team that accompanied the Ministry's officials and a total of twenty three illegal buildings were demolished in the area.

Our correspondent reports that the Commissioner stance was aimed at safeguarding the state's forest reserves for future generations and preventing further economic losses and security threats.

Global President and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the United International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC), recipient of the 2024 US President Joe Biden Lifetime Achievement Award, H.E. Ambassador. Dr. Jonathan Ojada has been approved and confirmed as the Permanent Representative of the International Royal Diplomatic Club of the United Nations (IRDCUN-EU) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA.

His confirmation took place on Monday, June 10, 2024, in Klaipeda, Lithuania.

According to the IRDCUN-EU Permanent Representative at the UN Headquarters in New York, Amb. Ojada is expected to collaborate with small organizations abroad, international diplomatic clubs, parliaments, presidential palaces, royal families and diplomatic missions in all countries, as well as the European Union, UNICEF, UNESCO, etc.

Ogun Moves To Harmonize Taxes, Levies To Address Double Taxation




The Ogun State Government has said that it is working round the clock to ensure harmonization of taxes and levies to reduce the incidence of double taxation that may affect the revenue base of businesses.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, during his strategic visit to the Head Office of Nestle Nigeria, where he was received by its Managing Director, Mr. Wassim Elhusseini, in Lagos.

Sofela said that his visit was occasioned by the need to boost the existing relationship of Ogun State with its various stakeholders to further collaborate and share ideas on areas of common interest.



He said the Prince Dapo Abiodun led government has been committed to capacity building at all levels, pointing out that Technical Cchools in the State were being upgraded to ensure companies do not have any gap in power to fill the technical needs.

The Commissioner who was accompanied by top Management staff members of the Ministry, added that the present administration in Ogun State has improved land administration system to enable investors get title documents without delay in order to leverage for financing, saying that the government has been creating new industrial clusters to take care of the new influx of investors and prepare for the future.

Sofela appealed to the various companies across the three senatorial districts of the State to consider the qualified residents of Ogun State for employment as part of efforts to promote their relationship with host communities.

ABEOKUTA — The family of Adekalu Asipa and Akinwunmi has urged the imposters of Ogunmakins to rally their unalloyed support for Busari Ayinde Adenshile to become the next Olu of Ogunmakin Kingdom.
The family said, Busari Ayinde Adenshile will serve as catalyst to speed up the development of Ogunmakin Kingdom under Obafemi-Owode Local Government if supported to ascend the throne of his forefathers.



Subsequent to the claims that Busari Ayinde Adenshile is from Ibadan and not from the family of Asipa Dekalu of oke ago Owu Abeokuta.The family described the publication as cheap hallucinations, reacted to the publication from Encounter and Penpushing media calling on the former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Okikiola Obasanjo and Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to wade into the Obaship tussle in Ogunmakin as comedy of the year which can be ignored.



It could be recalled that the family led by one Adeyemi Ogunmakin and Kazeem Ogunmakin made an appealled at a press conference held on Friday at the conference room of Penpushing Media in Leme axis of Moshood Abiola way, Abeokuta.

She said the next Olu of Ogunmakin Kingdom according to gazette must be Busari Ayinde Adenshile due to his experience, exposure and antecedents, Busari Ayinde was installed in 2005 as Baajiki of Owu Kingdom, the late Kabiyesi, Olowu compensated Busari Ayinde with chieftancy title based on his contributions to the development of Owu Kingdom.



Also, our correspondent visited Chief Kehinde Salawu, the grandson of Ogunmakin who described the publication by Encounter and Penpushing media as comedians and tools in the hands of the betruider, He said their family who are residents of Ilepa have not for once migrated with Ogunmakin, Saying the three wives of Ogunmakin who gave births to females, one of the daughter of late Ogunmakin gave birth to the father of Busari Ayinde Adenshile which authenticate him as the son of the soil and the most qualified among the interested candidates for Olu of Ogunmakin Kingdom.

The leadership of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries has debunked claims that it framed up ex-members of the church identified as Femi Jimoh and Caleb Oloruntele over an alleged planned attack against the church.

This was as the three individuals who testified against the former members in court over the alleged act narrated how the duo approached them to solicit their assistance on how to hire a gun to rob the “first fruits” offering of the church in the year 2008.

The individuals identified as Akeem Omojomolo, Tajudeen Usein, and Fatai Adebayo revealed how they played along in the plot, leading to their arrest.

Jimoh had in an interview accused the church of being behind his imprisonment for nine years without trial, over alleged armed robbery.

He claimed to have been framed by the church, adding that his trial started when he met the chief security officer of MFM founder, Pastor Daniel Olukoya, at a native doctor’s house.

On his part, Caleb, during an interview, said Olukoya wanted him dead because he refused to give false testimony against a pastor he identified as Femi Agboola.

The former MFM usher added that he was prosecuted in 2008 without any concrete evidence to prove the allegation against him.

Addressing journalists on Friday, the Chief Legal Adviser of the church, Davidson Adejuwon, said the duo had created some misconceptions among a section of the public.

He added that their claims of being locked up in jail for nine years for an offence they did not commit was false, mischievous and cruel.

He said, “Let me quickly and briefly address some of the lies being told to the public on this issue which has created some misconceptions among a section of the public.

“One of them is that MFM as a church and its General Overseer, Dr Daniel Olukoya, have no forgiving spirit. Mr Femi Jimoh is a perfect case study to prove that MFM as a church and its General Overseer are unrepentant forgivers.”

Adejuwon further explained that the General Overseer did not keep the duo in jail for nine years despite the plea from Jimoh’s mother.

He added that they were granted bail but failed to perfect their bail conditions.

He said, “Is it not curious to push a narrative that Dr Olukoya, the General Overseer, locked them up when all members of their family refused to get two individuals for nine years to stand as their sureties for them to be released? Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries is a responsible church that takes the welfare, safety and security of all its members very seriously.

“As such a case of planned armed attack on credible intelligence against the church which could have led to the death of any member cannot be treated and handled internally by the church.

“We must report such to the law enforcement agency saddled with the responsibilities to investigate and deal with such issues. And that was exactly what we did as a responsible church.”

Adejuwon remarked that all other events that transpired thereafter at the police station and during the trial were completely out of the control of the church because being a criminal matter, it became a case between the state and the defendants.

Reacting to claims that the arrest followed Jimoh’s contact with the then Chief Security Officer of the church, Olawale Gbadamosi, at a herbalist’s place at Ogbomosho in Oyo State, Adejuwon said, “It is absurd to imagine that a church a big as MFM will go so low to frame up two of its pastors just because of claim (which is false) that a CSO of the church was seen in a herbalist house.”

Gbadamosi, who was present at the briefing described the claim as untrue, adding, “I want to say before man and God that I have never set foot there to see any herbalist.”

Narrating how Jimoh and Caleb allegedly approached him for the operation, one of the three individuals, Akeem Omojomolo, said they planned to execute it in February.

Omojomolo also explained how they allegedly planned to trail the offering from the campground to the headquarters before striking.

He said, “He approached me and said he had a job he wanted me to be part of. He thereafter took me to a bar where he told me that it was MFM’s job and it had to do with their offering money. I asked if he had told anyone, and he did not except someone called Aboki.

“Since I know the Aboki, I later called him and asked how he knew Femi and he said he approached and said they wanted to rob the mountain of fire and that the operation will be carried out in February when the offering will be brought from the camp to the headquarters. I and Aboki decided to inform the police and we were advised to play along.

“When we got there, we said a lot of things. We asked him who was going to finance, and he said Pastor Caleb. He said he had someone called Henry who was also a cultist. He said Pastor Caleb was in Mowe Ibafo.

“We went to meet Pastor Caleb and I asked when he would be available to come to Iwaya so that we could meet but they did not know we were with the police. When he came to Iwaya, I called Aboki and involved another colleague Orji to explain to them.”

On his part, Fatai Adebayo, otherwise known as Aboki, narrated how they played along and facilitated how police arrested them.

He said, “He approached and informed me about the deal and that it involved millions of naira, including dollars and cheques. When Akeem returned from Mowe where Caleb lives, we told the police again that we had met another accomplice. It was after then that we met a member of the church popularly known as Omo IyaNiyi who took us to the father of the GO’s wife in Surulere.

“The elderly man gave us a recording device and during our next meeting, Pastor Caleb and one Henry were also introduced to us as the ones who will sketch the plan were present. That day they gave me 16,400 to rent bullets. The next meeting was scheduled to be held in the morning and we planned with the police to arrest all of us once it is 9 am. On the day of the meeting, Jimoh was present but we were waiting for Caleb. Caleb did not arrive until the police came in, rounded us up and took us to the station. That was where he confessed.”

The council of Baale under Ikereku, Obafemi-Owode Local Government of Ogun state has denied their involvement in the radio publication downgrading the authority of Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, The Osile of Oke-Ona over the choice of the next Olu of Ogunmakin Kingdom yesterday 6th of June, 2024.





council of chiefs during their meeting declared their unalloyed support for Chief Busari Ayinde Adenshile as the next Olu of Ogunmakin Kingdom, saying they are in support of progressive Ogunmakin under a worthy leadership.



Our correspondent when visited the council of Baales during their monthly meeting at Debonre village, Chief Sufiana Ariyo Sobowale, who was addressed as the head of the 52 Baales under Ikereku, Obafemi-Owode Local Government talked on behalf of other Baales Amebo Newspapers NG learnt.


"None of our Baale went to the governor's office, chieftaincy office in oke mosan to protest against the selection of the Ikereku traditional council under His Royal Majesty....... the selection of the Ikereku Traditional Council on who becomes the next Olu of Ogunmakin. "said the Baales under the Ikereku Traditional Council.


The Baale who were on sit during our visitation includes, Alapako Oni, Alapako Oke-Odo, Oyebola, Debonre, Ogunmakin Abule, Ogunmakin Oja, Seriki Sotayo, Akindele, Arabaa, Sanraa, Laraba, Degbee, Imolisa, Sanra, Sotio (Ijana Alapako), Liyide, Bere Ola, Liye, Adeniyi, Derupatan, Layonran, Owojo, Olosun-Abudu, Olosun-Adegbesan, Olosun Monmo, Olubori, Mosafejo, Olorunsogo, Balagada, Soobu, Leragun, Fadipe, Bankole, Arabaa, Baaye, Olorunda, Showunmi, Baaye among others, they all said they are behind His Royal Majesty Oba Adedapo Tejuosho's decision on whoever becomes the next Olu of Ogunmakin Kingdom.



While speaking with the Apena of Ikereku, High Chief Oluwaranti Shodehinde on the state of the chieftancy and mode of selection of the next Olu of Ogunmakin Kingdom he said;


"As the Apena of Ikereku land our duty is to see to the succession of new Olu of Ogunmakin after the late king, His Royal Majesty Oba Adedapo Tejuosho The Osile of Oke-Ona Egba has mandated us to work on the candidates who are keenly interested in mounting the throne of Olu of Ogunmakin Kingdom and we have keenly screened them alongside the Oluwo and we have submitted the most qualified among the candidates to the Osile of Oke-Ona Egba awaiting the further necessary actions" Said Chief Oluwaranti Shodehinde


Meanwhile, Our investigation revealed one Olusoji Sotomi popularly know as Baba Elelede alongside others who are residents and Chiefs of late Olu of Ogunmakin were behind the crises emanating in the Ogunmakin village in their efforts to discourage the crown prince to ascend the throne of his forefathers.

Man Raises Alarm Over Attempts To Incite Police Against Family With Online Videos




A resident of Ogun State, Kazeem Solabi, has decried what he described as an attempt to blackmail the Police in order to incite them against his family.
Kazeem therefore, condemned the viral video on the internet, where a resident of Ologede Village, Sokoto Road in Atan, Lucky Agunnge, accused the Police of aiding land grabbing.
Lucky, in the viral video had accused the Police in Atan of releasing alleged land grabbers, who attacked him.


The resident said, ” I am disappointed in what our people have turned the social media into. They now see it as a tool to manipulate people around them”.
“The man in the said video is supposed to be one of my family’s tenants but he bought the land from the judgement debtor.”


“We had a case up to the Supreme Court and my family won. It is expected that those who are affected by the judgement should do the necessary things by ratifying their documents.”
“Others in the area are cooperating with us but this man, Mr. Lucky, insisted that he would not pay us and we tried to talk to him. He was always violent and unleashed his dog on us.”

“Some days ago, we tried to talk to him again and he unleashed his dog on us and he was violently trying to hold unto us so that the dog can attack us.”
“We freed ourselves from him and escaped from the dog only for him to return with Policemen and accused us of attacking him.”

“As a law abiding person, I volunteered myself to go with them to the Police station. But surprisingly, on our way to the Police station, he started hitting me in the Police van and inflicted serious injury on my nose and face. The Policemen were disappointed and they chastised him.”
“When we got to the Police station, the DPO saw the two of us and instructed his officers to give the two of us medical reports to go and treat ourselves and that we should return to the station.”

“I am still recovering from the injury he inflicted on me when I got a report that he had gone online to make false accusations against us and even indicted the Police.”

“There at the station, he confessed to the DPO that he was the one that bit me in the leg and also the one that punched me in the face.”
“When the DPO was even threatening to arraign both of us in Court, he was the one that appealed that he should not do so for now. He promised to return to the Police station. They are still expecting us.”

A Police source in the state, who pleaded anonymity said, ” It is true that he was at the station to report a case of assault on him but he also assaulted the other man even in the presence of Policemen”.

“Already, there was a report against him that he was unleashing his dog on people in the area and threatening them.”
The Police source also stated, “The case is still on. The parties were only allowed to go and treat themselves and return”.

The Frontline political group in the entire Remoland working progressively to achieve YAYI For Governor Mandate in the year 2027, Remo Progressives Leaders RPL has commiserated with Senator Olamilekan Solomon popularly known as YAYI over the death of his campaign director general in person of Barr. Babatunde Ishola Quazeem popularly called BIQ today, Saturday 1st of June, 2024.

Barr. Babatunde Ishola Quazeem died in the early hours of 31st of May, 2024 after brief illness.



According to the statement signed by Otunba Adekunle Zaccheaus Owosina (SIR. K) The group Secretary, he described the death as a rude shock which is never expected in years to come, praying for Almighty Allah to grant the family of Babatunde Ishola Quazeem the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.



He said, " On behalf of my political group, Remo Progressives Leaders, RPL, it is with heavy heart we commiserate with Yayi political family across Ogun state over the demise of one of the prominent figure in the campaign team, Babatunde Ishola Quazeem before his death he was a very accommodating and hardworking man, whose goal is always to effect membership drive to the Yayi political family in Ogun state and beyond, We pray that Almighty God continue to grant him Aljanah and forgive his shortcomings" he said.


To our principal, Senator Olamilekan Solomon, we are strongly with you in this trial period and we pray for you to overcome this moment because we understand that it is a very heavy loss.


Meanwhile, The senator Adeola, who could not hide his unbelieve and bereavement at the death of BIQ, described the death of BIQ as a great loss.



The Senate Committee Chairman on Appropriation who expressed his grief in a statement through his media aide, Chief Kayode Odunaro, stated that he spent a greater part of the last 24 hour together with the late BIQ before the accident in a Hilux Toyota jeep occurred.



He noted that his demise is not only a huge loss to his immediate family but also his political family across Lagos and Ogun State.



Senator Adeola described BIQ as a loyal progressives’ grassroots politician that had served Lagos State and the nation in various capacities in the past stressing that his life was cut short at a time his services, steadfastness and commitment is sorely needed.



Before his demise Barrister Label was a Special Assistant (South West Affairs) to Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jubrin while he served in similar capacity in the 9th Senate with Senator Ahmad Lawan as President of the Senate.



BIQ was a former Sole Administrator of Ifako-Ijaye Local Government Area, the Director General of Senator Adeola Campaign Organisation in Lagos West Senatorial District towards the election for the 9th Senate and served as a member of the Committee that carried out massive reconstruction and rehabilitations of schools in Lagos State.



He also played a leading role in the campaign of Senator Adeola for the Ogun West Senatorial seat in 2023.



Senator Adeola prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and the fortitude for his bereaved family and close associates to bear the irreparable loss.
