@POLITICSNGR Nigeria's Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, has pointed out that PDP presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar will lose to President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC in the 2019 General Elections. Speaking to journalists at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Dambazau said that Atiku had not impacted lives outside his immediate circle. He spoke through his Senior Special Assistant and former Chairman, House Committee on Security, Aliyu Gebi. In his words; “In this race (2019), there is only one gladiator and that gladiator is the current President. So, there is no contender. (Atiku) by saying this is the toughest election in the history of Nigeria, yes toughest for him, certainly not for the President. “As far as I’m concerned, this will be the easiest election in the history of Nigeria as far as President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC are concerned; he (Atiku) will not even win Adamawa much less Taraba or Gombe and then come to Bauchi. We will ensure we do whatever we can, this will be the last Atiku’s outing and he will suffer a bloodied nose by the grace of God.” Dambazau said the country had decimated Boko Haram, adding that the insurgency was in its last days. https://politicsngr.com/will-bloody-atikus-nose-2019-interior-minister-dambazzau/

@POLITICSNGR As the 2019 general elections approach, a Deputy Speaker who worked for the victory of APC in 2015 has denounced the ruling party in Nigeria, and has since joined the opposition pdp party in Nasarawa state. PoliticsNGR gathered that Rt. Hon. Barr. Bala Rabo Ayaga, Deputy Speaker, Nasarawa State House Assembly defected to PDP with his large number of supporters. He claims that the APC was no longer a party that could lead Nigeria and Nigerians to the promise land. He added that the APC as a party they had tirelessly supported and worked for, performed far below their expectations. Hon. Ayaga also made it known that, PDP of yesterday was 'better than APC of today, adding that the PDP of today is more organised and well grounded to take over the leadership of the nation since APC has woefully failed' .For these reasons and so many reasons that time could not permit them to speak out at the time they were been received, have prompted them to return to PDP the rightful place they belong to. Among the key personalities who joined him to denounce APC were Hon. Labi Osugebo, former deputy chairman Kokona LGA, Alh. Kanko Madage Bayero, Alh. Dauda Odumagbe, Hon. Musa Inaloko, a one time commissioner with the Nasarawa State Government, Alh. Suleiman Wabai, an APC House of Assembly aspirant. Others were, Hon. Akajo A. Gyara, Hon. Alh. Usman Isa, Alh. Dauda Osaga, former DPM Agwada Development Area, and over five thousand of their supporters from APC from Agwada Development Area. Hon. Prince Francis Enokela Orogu, the state PDP Chairman who received them, gave them the assurance on behalf of the entire PDP family in Nigeria, that they have been accepted as members. He equally guaranteed them of working together to the success of the party in the forthcoming general elections. https://politicsngr.com/breaking-deputy-speaker-dumps-apc-pdp/

@POLITICSNGR The Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) on Saturday announced the emergence of a new leader after the death of its founder and national president, Frederick Fasehun. PoliticsNGR gathered that the new leader and President of the group is Prince Oshibote Oodua. He was announced at Century Hotel, Okota, Lagos where members of the congress gathered to mourn the demise of their leader. Dr. Fasehun died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH in the early hours of Saturday. According to the eldest child of the former OPC leader, Kayode Fasehun, the late OPC national president took ill briefly during the week before he finally passed on. “He was sick for a short time and was taken to the hospital on Wednesday and discharged on Thursday. But then, we had to take him back, he hadn’t left the hospital for too long before a little relapse so we he had to go back. He was admitted at the ICU. He later became stable and we thought he was going to survive. But around 1.00 am today we got the sad news that he couldn’t make it,” he said. “I know that he lost a younger brother in March this year, he was the closest person to him but I don’t know whether that was a factor or it was old age. In fact he was very fine the whole of last week and the week before,” he recalled. The late OPC leader is survived by a wife and six children; five sons and a daughter. https://politicsngr.com/breaking-opc-announces-new-leader-oshibote-oodua/

@POLITICSNGR President Muhammadu Buhari warmly congratulates the Super Falcons of Nigeria on their victory over the Banyana Banyana of South Africa Saturday in the final match of the 11th Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON), Ghana 2018. The President expresses particular delight at the discipline and commitment exhibited by the country’s senior women football team despite the stiff resistance of their South African counterparts. Noting that the Super Falcons had earlier qualified to represent Nigeria at the FIFA Women World Cup tournament in France next year, President Buhari describes winning the AWCON for the third consecutive time and ninth overall, as the “icing on the cake.” Saluting the country’s female football ambassadors for doing their fatherland proud and showing clear dominance on the African continent, he urges them to approach the France 2019 competition with clear focus and determination to excel on the global stage. President Buhari also commends the team’s coaching crew, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Supporters Club and all football-loving citizens for adequately preparing and supporting the players, enjoining all stakeholders not to relent in rallying round the country’s football representatives going forward. “I have never doubted the capacity of Nigerians to excel when given the right support,” he notes, while promising the Federal Government’s commitment to sports development as a unifying force. https://politicsngr.com/awcon-2018-victory-president-buhari-congratulates-super-falcons/ |

@POLITICSNGR Presidential Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has left Nigeria for the US, PoliticsNGR has learned It will be recalled that Atiku has not visited the US in 13 years fueling rumours that he has criminal charges to face in the country. It was gathered that Ex-President, Olusegun Obasanjo played a “major” role in getting the American government to issue the visa to his former deputy with whom he has been at loggerheads with for almost 15 years. Atiku has faced a lot of political attacks from opponents who used his absence from the US not just to taunt but to discredit him. His row with the US authorities began after the FBI investigated a bribery scandal involving William Jefferson, former US congressman, in 2004. Atiku was accused of demanding a bribe of $500,000 to facilitate the award of contracts to two American telecommunication firms in Nigeria. https://politicsngr.com/breaking-atiku-secures-visa-us-jets-nigeria/ |

@POLITICSNGR Information reaching the PoliticsNGR news desk on Wednesday reveals that Chief of Staff and In-law to Governor Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwosu has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC for the Democratic Peoples' party, DPP. Nwosu alongside Okorocha's aides and members of the state house of assembly defected on Tuesday. This development is arising from the refusal of the APC to field Nwosu as the party's Gubernatorial aspirant in the upcoming state governorship elections. Okorocha, who spoke with journalists at the Government House, Owerri, however, promised to work for the victory of Nwosu as the next governor of the state in 2019 even as he remained in the APC as its candidate for Orlu Senatorial District. He also accused the APC governorship candidate in the state, Senator Hope Uzodinma, of duping the deputy governor, Mr. Eze Madumere, former Secretary to the State Government, Mr. George Eche, and his predecessor, Mr. Jude Ejiogu, from the governorship ticket. According to him, what happened in APC primaries in many states presents interesting scenario as the party he said is known for justice, equity and fairness has been dented by the National Chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole. He said, “What happened in Imo was a clear case of injustice, where Uche Nwosu won the primary and was robbed of the ticket. This injustice must be addressed. However, in spite of the fact that my aides are leaving the party, I am still a member of APC and will not leave the party. “I tried to persuade them not to leave, but they have made up their minds. I have done what I can to make them remain in the party, they disobeyed me. I don’t have any moral justification to stop them. “President Buhari is not behind the injustice done by the party in the state but Oshiomhole is solely responsible for all the injustice meted to my people in Imo State. For me, I am still a member of APC. Buhari still remains my candidate and I will support him.” Okorocha maintained that Imo people did not play politics of party but politics of individual, revealing that the people’s interest in APC was by his own making. He contended that among the various governorship candidates in the state, his son-in-law, Nwosu, remained the best and vowed to support him to fulfill his governorship ambition. https://politicsngr.com/breaking-okorochas-law-uche-nwosu-dumps-apc-dpp/

@POLITICSNGR Ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan has insinuated that a vast conspiracy by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC was partly responsible for his loss in 2015, PoliticsNGR has learned. Jonathan, who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP lost to President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC on March 31st 2015, marking the first time an opposition party wins an election in Nigeria. In his book, 'My Transition Hours' launched in Abuja on Tuesday, Jonathan wrote; "For some inexplicable reason, the INEC had been able to achieve near 100% distribution of Permanent Voter Cards in the North, including the North East, which was under siege with Boko Haram insurgency but failed to record a similar level of distribution in the South which was relatively more peaceful,”. Social media was filled with all manner of stories, pictures and videos. I had settled in my mind that I was not going to be the sitting president pointing out these infractions and accusing the opposition and the very INEC I helped to strengthen. The world saw my ordeal at the polling unit in my community in Bayelsa State, where the card reader refused my PVC even after we tried repeatedly during accreditation. And it was the same with my wife and my mother. It was a moment that exposed the shortcomings of INEC". Mr Jonathan said even though he conceded defeat because of personal principles he had long held, he was even more conscious of past predictions of the United States intelligence that Nigeria would break apart. “I knew what was coming the day before I called General Muhammadu Buhari. I had reports on the polls around the country. It was clear the results were not going to favour me. There were series of problems with card readers, resulting from widespread technical hitches leading to the non-uniform application throughout the country. However, I was heading towards peace. Stopping the election on voting day would have been like detonating an atomic bomb,” he said. Mr Jonathan said shortly after he finished voting on March 28, he departed Bayelsa for Abuja to monitor the rest of the exercise from March 29 until he made concession call on March 31. “The country was tensed. I had to do something. I could no longer wait for the collation of final results. The pressure on the country was palpable. In Lagos, people were ready to burst loose on the streets and in the North, the stage was set for envisaged violence. One of my party’s agents at the INEC National Collation Centre in Abuja, Elder Godsday Orubebe eventually got into a heated argument with the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega. That further raised the tension in the country. Everyone was expecting the worse. I knew it was time to douse the tension,”. https://politicsngr.com/jegas-inec-conspired-2015-jonathan-opens/

@POLITICSNGR Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has stated that Nigeria's economy slipped into recession after he left office because of the "Malicious Propaganda" deployed by the All Progressives Congress, APC. he claims that it tore the country's economy to 'Shreds'. Jonathan wrote this is his newly launched book 'My Transition Hours'. PoliticsNGR gathered that Jonathan also wrote that the narrative of inheriting an empty treasury was false. “Recall that the opposition and their sympathisers and campaigners, both local and international, with their malicious propaganda, tore our economy to shreds, threatened our stability and existence as a nation and intimidated our citizens, all in the bid to take over power. Rather than forge a coalition and build on the momentum we had gathered when they eventually took office, they went on a persecution spree and vengeance mission. That the country slipped into recession soon after we left office was a self-inflicted injury caused by misplaced priorities. The narrative of inheriting empty treasury is a blatant lie. Also, the excuse of the collapse of world crude prices does not hold water. This is because the Fourth Republic took off in 1999 with crude oil selling for less than $20 per barrel and a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth at 0.58 per cent, according to National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) figures. Yet, the economy maintained a steady growth from that year, peaking at 15.33 per cent in 2002 when the average crude oil price was about $25. It is also instructive that the oil and gas sector constitute about 11 per cent of our GDP. There had to be a wider causative factor than just the fall in world crude prices. “It also amounts to standing facts on their heads to continuously claim that recession was caused by so-called mindless looting. The truth is that the opposition, in a bid to undo our government, became its own undoing when it got to power, because of the burden of justifying deliberate misrepresentations. There is wisdom in the saying that if you win a prize and get the crown, don’t go around destroying the person who previously held that prize; it will lose its value. Even after winning the election and forming the government at the centre, the blame game continued. When two brothers fight to death, it is the neighbour that inherits their father’s wealth. And we have seen neighbouring nations like the Republic of Benin and Ghana reaping from the capital flight out of Nigeria.” He said with the calibre of people he had in his government, no one could say they were clueless. “Just consider that my minister of state for health, Dr Muhammed Ali Pate, is now a professor at America’s Duke University, as well as a Senior Adviser to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation based in Washington DC. My minister of Agriculture, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina, is now the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB). My Co-ordinating minister, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, is the chairperson of the Board of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) and the African Risk Capacity (ARC). She also sits on the board of Twitter and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, just as she is a Senior Adviser at Lazard and a Director at Standard Chartered Plc in the United Kingdom, amongst others. My minister of communication technology, Dr. Omobola Johnson, is currently chairperson of custodian and Allied Insurance Limited as well as the Global Alliance for Affordable Internet. And it is not just members of my cabinet. Others who served with me in different capacities are also soaring on the world stage. A good example is Ms. Arunma Oteh, who I appointed the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Under her steady and skillful direction, Nigeria’s equity market grew in metric proportions, and by the time I left office in 2015, the market had tripled in size to $150 billion in value. Two months after I left office, Ms. Oteh was appointed a Vice-President and Treasurer at the World Bank. With such personalities on my cabinet, no one can factually say we were ‘clueless’ or inept. The evidence of performance is simply overwhelming. We gave Nigeria an impressive and steady GDP growth rate at 6.7 per cent per annum. We were officially cited as the third fastest growing economy in the world by CNN Money in 2014. We eradicated polio and guinea worm and became the first nation in the world to defeat the Ebola virus, such that the then richest man in the world, Bill Gates celebrated us for our prowess in the health sector. We reduced our food import bill by 36 per cent.” https://politicsngr.com/apc-destroyed-nigerias-economy-caused-recession-jonathan-explodes/ |

@POLITICSNGR The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on November 19, 2018 arraigned Abdulsalam Saleh Abdulkareem, a governorship candidate of the Green Party of Nigeria, GPN, and Ebere Nzekwe, before Justice Lewis Allagoa of the Federal High Court, Kano on a nine-count charge of criminal conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of $1,320,000 (One Million, Three Hundred and Twenty Thousand Dollars) only. The petitioner alleged that sometimes in 2014, the defendants connived to fraudulently obtained the said sum from him in the belief that it would be used for business investment which eventually turned out to be false. Abdulsalam also allegedly met with his Personal Assistant, one Muhannat in a hotel in Republic of Kuwait for a talk on the said dealings. The meeting led to his (Abdulsalam’s) invitation to Nigeria via a company, Seit Nigeria Limited. It was during this meeting that the total sum of One Million Five hundred USD (1,500, 000USD) was displayed to him as the sum belonging to the alleged partner in the acclaimed investment. One of the counts reads: ''That you Abdulkareem Saleh Abdulsalam, Ebere Nzechukwu (aka General Aria), Michael Edosa (at Large), sometime in August 2014, at Kano within the Kano Judicial Division of the High Court, with intent to defraud, conspired to obtain the total sum of one million, three hundred and twenty thousand dollars ($1,320,000.00) from Dr. Jamman Al-Azmi when you represented that you have the capacity to partner with him for joint venture business, which representation you knew to be false, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 1(1)(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006, and punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act.'' Both defendants pleaded “not guilty” when the charges were read to them. Prosecuting Counsel, Johnson Ojogbane, asked the court for a date for hearing sequel to the plea of the accused persons. The defence counsel, Dr. K.M. Liman, SAN and Chris Asekome, however, moved their bail and prayed the judge to grant the defendants bail as “they have already been enjoying an administrative bail given by EFCC”. Ojogbane did not oppose the application for bail but stated that “if his lordship is inclined to grant their bail, he should do so with the knowledge that the first accused person jumped bail and did not show up the last time the matter was fixed which made it to be adjourned for today”. Justice Allagoa, thereafter, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100 million and one surety in like sum; the surety, the judge said must have a landed property in Kano. The case has been adjourned to January 29 and 30, 2019 for hearing. https://politicsngr.com/breaking-efcc-arraigns-top-governorship-candidate-1-3-million-fraud/

It will be recalled that Okorocha has been at loggerheads with the leadership of the APC over its refusal to field Nwosu as the governorship candidate of the party in the 2019 general elections. Speaking to new telegraph via telephone, Nwosu said; “That is a big lie. l can’t be part of a party from inception and abandon it for people that came and joined." “l have no reason to dump APC as l am convinced that l will regain my mandate and contest the Imo State governorship election in the state. @POLITICSNGR Below is a press statement from the Islamic Movement of Nigeria(IMN) made available to PoliticsNGR; An Islamic organization on its official Facebook page last week mischievously claimed that it has uncovered a plot by the Shiites to use the annual Maulud processions to cause mayhem, it therefore urged the security agents to use their power to deal with the Shiites. It also called on the Tariqa Sufi groups to distant themselves from the Shiites during the Maulud festivities. The Islamic Movement in Nigeria finds this allegation as mischievous, unfounded and out of touch with reality. It is also a deliberate intention at blackmailing the Islamic Movement to further instigate the security agents to engage in their usual extra judicial killings. For decades the Islamic Movement has been in very good and commendable relations with all Muslim groups and non-Muslim groups alike in the country with the exception of the said group which considers any Muslim outside its fold as an infidel. This Muslim unity concept by the Movement has led to the fact that during Maulud celebrations the Tariqa Sufi orders and the Islamic Movement join hands in conducting their programs peacefully to uphold the Muslim unity concept. We therefore have no reason to believe that this year’s event will be any different, let alone result to chaos as insinuated by the mischievous group. However, there are reports reaching us that some infiltrators dressed in black attires will be sent to join our Maulud processions ostensibly to foment trouble. This is not the first time such attempts have been made and we have successfully repelled such machinations and Insha Allah, this plot will also fail. We hereby declare to the general public that as always our processions shall be peaceful and will continue to be. Last month we held mourning processions for the vicious killing of Imam Husain (AS), the Grandson of Prophet Muhammad (S), but this month the processions are for the commemoration of the birth of the Prophet (SAWA) himself. The mischievous group has no business advising the Tariqa Sufi orders to distance themselves from us, since just like us, they don’t also consider them as Muslims. We however use this medium to advise them to accept the saying of the Holy Prophet (SAWA) that anybody who proclaims the Kalimat Shahada is a Muslim, and stop the work of dividing the Muslim Ummah. Whether in mourning or celebratory mood, we will always call on the authorities to obey court order and release our leader, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky from detention. We will not relent in our efforts towards that. https://politicsngr.com/not-planning-unleash-mayhem-maulud-imn/ |
@POLITICSNGR The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole has suddenly left Nigeria early Wednesday morning amidst his reported detention by the department of state security services, DSS, PoliticsNGR has learnt. Oshiomhole was reportedly detained and grilled over the role he played in the primaries of the party. It was also gathered that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state secured bail for Oshiomhole from DSS after he underwent 9 hours of intense grilling from the security agency. The DSS was prompted to pick up Oshiomhole after receiving numerous petitions accusing Oshiomhole of bribery and manipulating the APC Primaries. Most of the petitions were from Zamfara, Imo, Ogun and Niger states respectively. The current crisis being faced by the party began after Oshiomhole marginalized the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), usurped its functions, relocated from the party’s national headquarters to his personal campaign secretariat at Asokoro and thereafter run the primaries with the cooperation of only four NWC members. The chairman also delayed the appointment of screening and primary election committees for the states and insisted on centralizing it at national headquarters contrary to the previous practice of screening legislative aspirants in their states and governorship aspirants in the zonal offices. In Imo state, Oshiomhole singlehandedly picked Alhaji Ahmed Gulak to head the Imo election committee despite protests that Gulak joined the party only this year and that he did so together with Chief Hope Uzodinma, a governorship aspirant in Imo State. Gulak later disappeared from Owerri before the primaries were conducted and declared Uzodinma as the winner. Eight other committee members stayed behind and conducted the primaries, which were observed by INEC officials but the chairman insisted on upholding Gulak’s result, the sources said. Petitions soon flooded DSS and EFCC alleging that millions of dollars were spent by aspirants. In Ogun State, petitioners accused the chairman of doing the bidding of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to push aside Governor Ibikunle Amosun and his anointed candidate. Another petition from Zamfara State alleged that the messy APC primaries in that state were orchestrated by the national chairman who was bent on handing the party’s ticket to Malam Dauda Lawal. Several attempts to hold the primaries ended in chaos but Oshiomhole said in a letter to INEC that a consensus candidate was adopted in Zamfara State, a claim that Senator Kabiru Marafa publicly refuted. A party source revealed that Oshiomhole orchestrated a crisis in the state with the intention of foisting the wife of the president’s brother as governorship candidate. He however backtracked and allowed Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow to win the primaries. There were similar problems in Bauchi, Niger and Enugu states with more petitioners alleging that bribery was responsible for the slipshod manner in which primaries were handled in those states. President Muhammadu Buhari has also ordered that all the monies collected from various aspirants all over the country should be returned to them. Presidency officials were however not available to confirm or refute this claim. https://politicsngr.com/breaking-dss-detention-oshiomhole-reportedly-flees-us/

@POLITICSNGR Information reaching the PoliticsNGR newsdesk reveals that the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole was briefly detained by the Department of state Security Services, DSS on Sunday. According to Cable, Oshiomhole was grilled by DSS operatives for nine hours after some APC governors alleged that he received bribes during the party’s primary elections across the country. He was also pressured to resign during interrogation by the DSS. Oshiomhole refused highlighting that he would only do so if he loses the confidence of President Muhammadu Buhari. The APC chairman told the DSS that the president was in the loop of every action he took during the party’s primaries. “Adams Oshiomhole was arrested by the DSS, they didn’t show him any petition. It was alleged by some governors that he collected bribe during the primaries,” a source said. “He was told to resign and he told DSS operatives that he will resign if he loses the confidence of the president. He said everything the party did, he (Buhari) was in the know.” Another source said the president expressed shock at the governors’ move, saying he was not aware of the development. “On Monday night Oshiomhole met with the president and briefed him on what happened and the president was shocked. The president said he did not know about it and promised to look into it,” the source said. The APC primaries were marred by controversies. @POLITICSNGR The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday expressed regrets at the level of poverty plaguing the society and said all hands must be on deck to bring the affected citizens out of the acute poverty lines. Sanwo-Olu stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State chapter, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola as part of his ongoing consultation with stakeholders in the State. Welcoming his guest, Apostle Bamgbola said there is no gain saying that the APC candidate has fought a good battle during the primary election, noting that there is nothing for him to prove again other than to seek the presence of God in other tasks ahead. While acknowledging the good relationship that existed between him and Mr. Sanwo-Olu, Apostle Bamgbola emphatically stated that he knows the APC candidate as a man of God and as such he will not fail if he is given the opportunity to govern Lagos State. Drawing reference from the Holy Bible, the CAN chairman said ‘’when the righteous rules, the people rejoice’’. He said that the testimonies from numerous people who have come in contact with the APC candidate shows clearly that he is truly the choice of God. He, however, urged Sanwo-Olu to seek people’s understanding in every project he undertakes, saying that with understanding, the citizens are easy to administer and they will enjoy him as governor. Sanwo-Olu thanked the CAN leader for agreeing to host him and his team in his house. He said his emergence as APC Governorship candidate in Lagos State is certainly the will of God. ‘’The moment God says this is the way, there is nothing anyone can do about it. The whole governorship race played out to me like a moving train and there was no stopping it’’. Sanwo-Olu said. Alluding to the touch of God in the project, Sanwo-Olu wondered why the entire fabrics of the All Progressives Congress both at home and in the diaspora rose in unison and spoke with one voice to support his candidacy. He said the episode has continued to humble him and has made him get closer to God for the uncommon favour He has given him. ‘‘Who am I? What do I have to have got this kind of Godly favour? But I know one thing and that is, when a man is humble, he tends to have everything’’. Sanwo-Olu affirmed. The APC standard bearer prayed for God’s wisdom, understanding and guidance in all that he will embark on if elected as Governor of Lagos in 2019. He said his major concern is always about the poor people, those who don’t have voice but who should be heard, the people at the bottom of the pyramid whose interest is how to get basic food a day. @POLITICSNGR Former Governor of Lagos State and National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his commitment to the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari by pointing out that his friendship with the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has nothing to do with 2019. PoliticsNGR gathered that the former governor in a statement through his Media Adviser, Tunde Rahman reacted to a comment by former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abba Gana that he (Tinubu) will work for the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 polls. The statement read in Part: “His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Tinubu indicated long ago where he stood on the matter of the 2019 election. He has continued to say he remains firmly behind that patriot, President Muhammadu Buhari, in his mission to rebuild the country from the ruins of the PDP years. Only two days ago, he restated this position while speaking with correspondents at the State House in Abuja. He said the PDP could hold their meetings anywhere they liked and that Nigerians know who means well for them and is trustworthy. Where the former FCT Minister, Abba Gana got his conviction that Asiwaju Tinubu would do otherwise is left only to himself. “Yes, His Excellency Asiwaju has had a relationship with former Vice President, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, just like he has had with many of other leaders in his political journey. But this is about Nigeria, the well-being of the country and of Nigerians. On this score, he has made his pick.” Abba Gana, a chieftain of PDP, in a recent interview with Sun, said that Tinubu would work for Atiku as both leaders are longtime friends. In his words; “You know that Atiku is very friendly with former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. They formed the APC government together. I am sure that Tinubu may realize that he faces less danger with the Atiku president. They have common businesses and I am sure they would work together. Tinubu has more things in common with Atiku than Buhari.” https://politicsngr.com/2019-choose-buhari-atiku-tinubu-reasons/
