Me and my wife score is 410
If, with a master’s degree, Canadian schooling, and 1–2 years of Canadian work experience, you still cannot reach 500 CRS points, it’s really going to be hard in my opinion. PNP draws have been drastically reduced, and category-based draws do not come very frequently.

People are panicking, and that’s why someone like Badadvisor might even consider marrying his 200 kg girlfriend just to stay in the country. In my opinion, it’s hard, but if you want to try, you can—but nothing is guaranteed.

Thank you so much sir, i understood you but, it seems you're not really understanding me.
I meant that, if after graduation(1yr program), then work for 1 year(pgwp). Then after working for 1yr (pgwp) and decides to go back to school for a diploma program, will the person show pof?
Yes, for any study visa you apply for at any stage of your journey, you will need to show Proof of Funds (POF).

But a quick question: why would you want to study for 1 year, get a 1-year PGWP, work for 1 year, and then go back to school after that?

which job will you even work for one year by the time you find the job you will be past 7/8 motths of your PGWP permit Kill that thinking

That’s a very bad strategy. Canada only provides the PGWP once in a lifetime after completing your studies. No matter if you work and then return to school, you will not be eligible for another PGWP once you have already received one.

Also, a lot can change in 2 years. New governments may come in, especially since the current one does not have a majority, and immigration policies could shift. So your strategy is risky and not advisable.

If after the 1yr pgwp, and i decide to enrol into another program(diploma)....will i still show POF?
I know I write a lot and my statements are usually long but I answered all your question but I will answer again.

Yes — if you enroll in another program after your first year, you’ll need to show proof of funds again when applying for a new study permit or extension (unless you already qualify for PGWP and plan to work instead).

I've already been asked to undergo a medical exam, which I completed just yesterday. Now, I'm wondering: how many weeks does it usually take to receive a response after the medical test?
Also, I'm curious about job opportunities for science teachers in Canada. I’m a certified teacher with both Nigerian and UK teaching licenses, and I hold an MSc in Chemistry Education from Nigeria.
I recently applied for a 2-year Master's in Management program in Canada. My main goal is to study, and hopefully, settle there in the long term.
Do not base your immigration plan on today’s news. Just like Ireland, the UK, and the USA, Canada will soon make immigration and PR pathways harder. Things will change get ready

(1) How many weeks does it usually take to receive a response after the medical test?
Ans: It really varies—sometimes a few weeks, sometimes a few months. If the visa officer isn’t sleeping on your case, it shouldn’t take too long. But with IRCC, you never know—they’re experts at teaching patience, haha.

(2) Job opportunities for science teachers in Canada
Ans: Well, nothing is guaranteed. Jobs are had to fine and you are not the only person qualified for that job so you have to get ready If people keep voting Liberal, the country will keep going downhill.
In 5 weeks from today, on November 4th 2025, we’ll know how much the government is spending on useless programs, running a high deficit and fueling inflation.

FYI, I make about $210,000/year with my wife own a house and Canadian citizen, and we’re already planning our escape plan, haha.

(3) Main goal is to study and hopefully settle there in the long term
Ans: After school, two years is a lot of time—and a lot can change. PR is never guaranteed, even if you come as a student. Yes, Canada is looking for teachers, but again—nothing is guaranteed.

Right now, Mark Carney is running a minority government, and we’ll likely see another election next year. If you’re hoping for an education-based Express Entry draw, remember it has only happened twice since Express Entry began in 2015.

The key lesson: don’t build your entire immigration plan on what’s happening today. Just like the UK, Canada will likely tighten immigration laws as time goes on, especially when people grow tired of promises without delivery.

That said, you have a good profile. Your plan through education is solid, and getting PR via that route is possible—but nothing is guaranteed, and much can change in two years.

Good evening all.
Initially, I was admitted to a 2-year program starting September 2025 but deferred to January 2026 due to unforeseen circumstances. Now my program is only available in September, so I took a one-year PG certificate with no co-op and 1 year pgwp. My concern is whether I can find a job within dat year, especially since I hear it's hard to get work in Ontario. For those who experienced this, what advice do you have? How did you find a job quickly after graduation? One year fees was before I deferred.
Let me advise you as someone who wants the best for you: please do not go for a 1-year program. You will only get a 1-year PGWP. Unless it’s a master’s program that qualifies for a 3-year PGWP, it’s not worth the risk.

Life after school is a completely different ball game, and getting a job depends heavily on your industry and skills. Please don’t be like Badadvisor, who thinks he can just keep moving on without a solid plan.

To answer your question: What advice do I have? Look for a 2-year program. It gives you more time on your PGWP and increases your opportunities.

How do you find a job quickly after graduation? Improve your skills in every way possible, focus on in-demand sectors, and build expertise in areas where employers are struggling to find talent. It may be tough now with the way the economy is going, but that is still your best option.

If you have not submitted your application, wait and do the Upfront Medicals (before IRCC requests them).

If you have already submitted, then wait for IRCC’s Medical Request.

Good evening house, please I’d like to confirm if this will work:

I’ll be given a fixed deposit certificate showing that i have been running a fixed deposit (stanbic ibtc mutual investment fund), and that I am now liquidating it. Afterwards, the funds will be transferred to my personal account (Access bank) about one week before I submit my Study Permit application.

Whatelse do I need to do to solidify the process...Or what can I do at this point...I'm applying for study permit for Winter 2026.

Secondly, if after one year program in Canada and I decide to do another program, will I still show POF for the new program?

Please, someone should answer me🙏🙏
Good evening 👋

Let me break this down for you clearly:

1. Using Fixed Deposit as Proof of Funds (POF)

Yes, a fixed deposit / mutual investment fund certificate can work, but IRCC is very particular about liquidity. A few things to ensure:

Evidence of history – show that the fixed deposit account has been active for some time (not just recently created for visa purposes). Provide the certificate + account statement covering the period.

Liquidation proof – if you’re liquidating, get an official letter/statement from Stanbic IBTC confirming liquidation and transfer of funds into your personal (Access Bank) account.

Bank statement (main account) – make sure your Access Bank account shows the inflow from Stanbic and that the balance reflects the required POF. Include 6 months’ statement to prove financial consistency.

Letter of explanation (LOE) – attach a simple explanation in your study permit application: explain that you had the funds invested in a fixed deposit for safekeeping and have now liquidated them to make funds available for your studies.

At this point, the key is to make your Access Bank account look strong and reliable*at the time of application. Immigration officers want to see you have funds readily available, not locked away.

2. Strengthening Your POF

To solidify:

Get official bank reference letters from both Stanbic IBTC and Access Bank confirming account ownership, balances, and dates.
Ensure no sudden suspicious large deposits shortly before application (except the liquidation inflow, which you’ll explain).
if possible, add sponsor’s affidavit (if applicable) or show multiple sources (e.g., partial family support, scholarship, etc.) to diversify.

3. If You Do Another Program After 1 Year ( FYI do not tell IRCC you want to do another program after 1 year for now)

Yes — if you enroll in another program after your first year, you’ll need to show proof of funds again when applying for a new study permit or extension (unless you already qualify for PGWP and plan to work instead).

Example: If you finish a 1-year program and apply for another program, IRCC expects to see POF for that new program (tuition + 1-year living expenses).
If you transition directly to PGWP, you don’t need POF anymore.

The only difference is that i used the new portal, i think those with US visa should use the new portal. My application last year was on the old portal
Old portal or new portal, those who will be denied will still be denied, and those who qualify for the visa will get the visa.

Before the Justin Trudeau visa wave, the Canadian visa was one of the most difficult visas to obtain, especially from the early 2000s to 2014. The reasoning was that it was relatively easy to get a U.S. visa since the U.S. had a higher chance of deporting people if their asylum claims failed.

In contrast, Canada made visas much harder to get because asylum claims were rarely denied.

But that all changed.

The only thing that causes a ban for Canada is usually the statement of account. Canada has no agreement with firs to confirm your tax or check how much tax you pay. Also, they can't prove your employment. Once you use a fake statement of account, that is where you get into trouble. Most people make up their employment by paying themselves or have a company pay them. If the organization is not active on CAC, they refuse the visa instantly but can't claim you are not employed. Once you submit an e tax clearance certificate, it confirms you pay tax but they can't confirm how much you pay as tax. Don't ever doctor your POF. They will surely know and you will get a ban
On Telegram, I paid to be in a private group chat where I saw all kinds of fake documents. The so-called Facebook/Telegram agents in that group use the same templates for most people—they just edit the names.

I won’t mention the name of the group, but I’ve seen every type of document. I was once kicked out for pointing out that an “Asylum Claim – Case Type 28” means the worker has very limited rights and is vulnerable to exploitation.

In that group, they promise everything—changing a visitor visa to a work visa—but they never mention that it’s actually done through an asylum claim. Once you arrive in Canada, they remove you from the group and add you to another.

I know what I’m talking about. They use the same fake documents for many people—fake tax returns, fake marriage certificates, fake employment letters, and fake proof of funds (POF). IRCC can easily catch this because when they request additional documents, the fraud becomes obvious, and the applicant gets banned. A few people are lucky and slip through, but most are caught.

Yes, fake POF is the most common, but the crazy part is that this system keeps going. I’ve decided to stay quiet in that Telegram group because I was kicked out the last time I spoke up. But I’m still watching and learning new tricks every day.

People don’t realize the scale of this madness. That’s why genuine visa applicants are angry—because fraudulent agents are flooding the system with fake applications for people who don’t even qualify.

Cap is hitting colleges and universities businesses hard, imagine conestoga main campus only received 540 new study permit from IRCC in January to june 2025.
The federal government approved just 540 new international study permits for the Kitchener-based community college between January and June, according to new data released to The Record. That's down from 17,600 new study permits approved in the same months in 2023.

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/education/news/conestoga-college-reels-from-a-97-permit-drop-how-canadas-immigration-shift-exposed-a-risky-model/amp_articleshow/124055223.cms
Conestoga College is a very greedy school. Imagine—the president of Conestoga College, John Tibbits, was paid $636,102 in 2024. That’s more than the Prime Minister of Canada earns.

It’s no longer about education; it has become a big, greedy business. Schools in Canada only pay 5% in taxes to the government—imagine how much the board of directors makes.

Yet, despite all this money, the schools haven’t invested in improving facilities or equipment. Campuses have become overcrowded to the point where some universities and colleges are outsourcing education to third-party institutions. This gave rise to “strip mall colleges,” packed with international students, especially from India.

Honestly, I’m glad about the new cap, because the madness had to stop.

No job market could keep up with the overwhelming number of students entering the country, while someone was profiting without improving the quality or standard of education that once existed

its sad because it affects the genue real students that want just better opportunity coming from Nigeria.

but the cap is here to stay even the liberal party knows they cant increase the number like the madness we had from 2019 to 2023 which my brother badadvisor was part of the late Covid windrush students Most have permits about to expired with no PR in sight sad very sad

Don’t mix them up: Deportation is different from a 5-year visa ban for misrepresentation (e.g., fake proof of funds, fake employment, fake tax returns, etc.).

Deportation Order : You are permanently barred from Canada. To ever return, you must apply for an Authorization to Return to Canada (ARC) and convince IRCC that your return is justified. Legal representation is usually required, and the process is costly.

5-Year Visa Ban (for misrepresentation): You do not need legal representation to reapply after the ban expires. However, it’s very difficult to succeed, because you must convince the visa officer that the misrepresentation leading to the ban was a mistake/ you have changed your old ways or will not be repeated.

If not our country that our politicians have messed up, must we go to all these countries? Our bad politicians have made many Nigerians to think that one has not arrived without going to these countries.

I checked different comments about not being able to enter those countries due to initial 5 years ban, and I feel like and so what? Will the world come to an end because of that? Are they even gods?

I started thinking that we can also improve our status here in Nigeria like many people that I know without going to those countries. If we do, they will have no choice than to grant us visas when they see our intimidating profiles no matter previous ban.
I wanted to write a long note explaining Nigeria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2010 vs 2024 compared to Canada in the same years, but I deleted it all—why bother? Some people’s minds are already made up, even when facts are presented.

But hey, what do I know? Keep in mind, Canada isn’t heaven—it has its own challenges and issues. Still, truth be told, with the way things are currently going in Nigeria, it could take 30 years to fix just 8 years of Buhari’s government, not even counting the failures of previous governments.

As sad as it is, Nigeria will likely never be great in our lifetime. I’m speaking from facts, not emotions—I have the numbers to back it up.

Nigeria’s 5-year ban issue is not just a “so what” situation. But again, what do I know? Even if I provide facts, links, articles, and personal research about PPP (Purchasing Power Parity), GDP, and GDP per capita (PPP) for Nigeria vs Canada from 2010 to 2024, I’m still seen as a clown who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Most people won’t even read it, so why bother?

These are the same people who will pay a Facebook visa agent 5 million naira for a visitor’s visa—hahaha. They can’t even read the actual process of applying for a visitor’s visa, and they don’t have the real Proof of Funds (POF).
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by amnotapervert(m): 2:57pm On Sep 22, 2025
Your Facebook agent is not God — they can mess up your life.

A 5-year Canadian visa ban for a Nigerian means you are barred from entering or successfully applying for Canadian visas or permanent residence during that period. Even after the five years, you will face much stricter scrutiny in future immigration applications worldwide.

Put simply: with a Nigerian passport and a 5-year Canadian ban, you’re in double trouble. Even after the ban expires, you’ll need to provide much stronger proof of honesty and eligibility. A Canadian ban raises red flags about credibility, making future applications — whether to the EU, U.S., or other Western countries — far more difficult.

Even if you eventually obtain EU citizenship, problems may still arise. When applying to enter the U.S. through ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization), your history can be checked, and prior bans may prevent you from entering the U.S. or other countries.

Remember: a simple visa refusal is far better than a 5-year ban — because a ban leaves a lasting mark, sometimes for life.

I keep saying it: in the whole of Nigeria, with a population of about 232.7 million (as of 2024), there are only 7 licensed Canadian immigration consultants. Just 7!

That should tell you how rare genuine professionals are — and why trusting random “agents” online is a recipe for disaster.

the funny part is you are still calling him My agent 😅

Feb 2023 means it’s already pushing 2 years — almost 3 years now. Hahahaha.

Why would you even use an unlicensed visa agent when a Canadian visa application for one person (visa + biometrics) costs only about CAD $185? In Naira, that’s roughly ₦125,000–₦140,000 depending on the exchange rate. Except of course you wanted the “visa package” ( Fake POF, Fake Emplyment documents, Fake tax return, fake marriage certificate ETC) those agents like to sell you.

Before you reapply Order the GCMS notes and get ready for the shock of your life — you’ll see all the nonsense the Facebook visa agent has entered on your behalf.

Honestly, I can bet you already have a 5-year visa ban, and your agent doesn’t even know how to tell you. You applied in 2023, which means the ban would expire in 2028/2029. Look on the bright side — you’ve already served 2 years, so only 3 years remain.

But make no mistake, a visa ban is a very serious issue. Even after the 5 years, you will still have to explain it on every future visa application to the “Five Eyes” countries — Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

or any country why you got a 5 years Visa ban in Canada

And sadly, just saying “I didn’t know” won’t count as an explanation.

The average Nigerian doesn’t understand the gravity of what they’re getting into.

It’s like having a criminal record and still trying to get a job in the Western world.

Paying huge money for a visitor visa you don’t even qualify for.

Maybe it’s the fake POF they sell you.

What kind of visa do you suggest that would be better? Will a visitor be a good option through sending me an invitation letter (he's the one sponsoring) and what are the documents need to submit if he eventually sends an invitation letter?
A visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa – TRV) does not allow you to stay permanently in Canada. It’s only for temporary visits (tourism, visiting family/friends, short business, etc.). Even if your Canadian friend/citizen sends you an invitation letter and sponsors your trip, it will not make you a permanent resident

If you want to stay permanently a visitor visa is not the right pathway. Instead, you need to look at Express Entry, PNP, study permit, or work permit routes.
