Go via Student route or express entry to permanent resident but if ur age high then learn french becos relocating on visit visa, pretending to enter on bogus conference or tourism and later claim aduro don cast!!!
Once Bill C12 fully comes into effect, the whole idea of entering Canada on a visitor visa, fake conference, or “tourism” and later claiming asylum will be reduce so much.

Bill C12 is designed to stop late asylum claims, especially from:
Visitor visa holders, Students who overstay and People advised by Facebook/Telegram agents to “enter first, claim later”

This law changes the system completely. Before, asylum cases were handled by a judge at the IRB. Now, in many cases, an immigration officer not a judge will decide your case.

For years, people have been using lawyers to delay their cases appeal after appeal just to remain in Canada even after rejection.
Bill C 12 is meant to end that loophole. even Canadian Immigrations lawyers that use this method to eat are crying out because the game will soon be up. https://ccla.org/privacy/ccla-renews-calls-for-government-to-drop-its-strong-borders-package/

If you’re found ineligible under the new rules which the government are the once that set the rule depending on how things are no more judges

You won’t get an IRB hearing and You will be pushed to PRRA (Pre-Removal Risk Assessment) instead

If you understand PRRA, then you already know that one is very risky as No more “business as usual.”

Your Facebook agent selling you a conference visa package will not tell you this or may not even understand it To them, you are just money.

Bill C 12 is a real game changer it has already passed 3rd reading. https://www.parl.ca/documentviewer/en/45-1/bill/C-12/third-reading?

It introduces new eligibility bars for refugee hearings and the government sets those rules.

And remember even the current Liberal government has said clearly that they want to reduce the number of people with pending or expired status in Canada.

any one thinking of using this method in 2026 Think twice, Do proper research and don’t gamble your future.

Hi guys, please I need responses to some questions.

1. I'm moving to Canada next month, how do I move my funds in my Nigerian account to start life over there?

2. Also, People in Canada, (Ontario especially) are there any educational grants (not loans) to support an MBA student who is a permanent resident (I know about OSAP already)

3. Apart from FB marketplace and Kijiji, where can I find legit apartments for rent

4. Best job sites and Canadian CV template

Please I'm doing my own research, but I also like getting insights from people on ground
(1) There’s no single perfect way most people use a mix of these: Bank wire transfer (most straightforward), Fintech options (smaller amounts) I personally use lemFi https://lemfi.com/en-ca/ and Carrying cash You can carry up to CAD 10,000 (or equivalent)

(2) Canada has Very limited, educational grants (not loans) but some options exist its best you Contact the financial aid office of the MBA program directly that’s where real money comes from.

(3) Legit apartment rental platforms (beyond FB & Kijiji) Use : Realtor.ca (very legit, agent listed), Zumper, Rentals.ca, Viewit.ca, PadMapper, Condos.ca (for condos) please Avoid paying deposits before viewing

(4) I personally use Indeed.ca and LinkedIn for Job search it will take you to the companies page to apply and as for CV You will ask a friend that already has a job to use their own and edit with your exprience I could have shared mine but I have a lot of Opps on this platform hahahahah

We are entering 2026, please I'm genuinely asking, Is Canada Express entry still feasible for us looking to migrate without having to write French?. The CRS scores keep increasing everyday. The older one gets the lower the chances. Please who can honestly give some words to this. It's actually tiring at this point. So much money has gone down doing WES and IELTS and yet nothing.

Please don't mention French o
If your current CRS score is not at least 500 or around 480 for healthcare professionals and French is not an option, then it is very hard to make it. it is extremely hard even PNP is now very difficult.

having a UK/US visa/ travel history or visa ( Mostly USA visa) reduces your visa rejection and makes the visa process quick

I haven’t been to the US before although I have a valid US visa at the moment, but yes I have UK travel history. I’m a first time applicant for Canada Visa. I just wanted to share the timeline it took from start to finish
Congratulations, and thank you for sharing your timeline from start to finish.

However, it’s always helpful to provide context so people can fully understand your profile.

Having a valid U.S. visa often gives a visa applicant a higher chance of obtaining a Canadian visa, which is why sharing the full context of your profile is important.

Someone without a USA visa ( Most especially) or UK visa timeline is not a reality with yours that's what we are trying to say and sharing your timeline without that context doesn't help them ( Most people)

Can anyone help me understand the reason for these two denail.

First Attempt

1. Paid 15,000 out of 26,500 tuition fee
2. Mother is the sponsor, with her personal account where she has lump sum
3. GIC fully funded
Outcome: VISA was denied, reason being that success of fund is not reliable.

Second Attempt with decision made 29th of December.

1. Full 26,500 paid, later discovered the school offer a new 7000+ scholarship
2. GIC still fully funded
3. To address fund issues, mum gave gift of land, with deed of land and Affidavit, land sold, and money paid in different installments. All this was submitted with bank details showing transactions trails, still outcome

VISA denied

What is the problem, should the door be closed to CANADA?

Any advice?
I want to say a lot of things, but the main reason for the rejection is money.

The funds in your sponsor’s account must clearly align with what they earn.

Even if they gift you land, provide a deed of land, an affidavit, sell the land, and pay the money in different installments, you can still be refused if the source of funds does not add up.

As long as the sponsor’s business income does not reasonably explain how the money was accumulated, the application will be rejected.

For example, if your sponsor runs a business that earns ₦5 million per month (with proof) and has saved ₦60 million for your education, that makes sense.

The ₦60 million being used for your education should not cripple their business, as they still have sufficient income and savings.

In summary: the key issue is the money and clearly explaining where the money is coming from.

Goodmorning! Thanks for your response. I am actually still in the process of getting her registered for a conference. She works as a Lab assistant, and i intend getting her registered in a conference that's related to her field. Pls, kindly help if you know of One. For question 2-4, i know about them, i have done both study and visitor Canadian Visa for people before. So, I know how to put together a strong SOP, and documentation for her application. Just that I have not done this conference thing before. For her monthly salary you asked, she receives 570k monthly bcs she works in a drilling company. I intend to get necessary documents from the company she works with, and get them notarized as well. I am looking at sponsoring her or better still, route the sponsorship through her company. I am yet to decide on this.
Well, I wish you all the best. I do not have any conference of that nature, nor do I do anything related to conferences. Please be very careful when using “conference” as the stated purpose of the visit.

A salary of ₦570,000 is not considered very high by IRCC, so your company would need to sponsor her visa. Make sure the company has all the necessary details and sufficient funds to support the sponsorship. You can sponsor both her and your company.

Money is very important.

Let me share some context: in 2024, 1.95 million visitor visa applications were denied. These denials accounted for 54% of all visitor visa applications meaning more than half of applicants were rejected. In 2023, the refusal rate was 40%, so that’s a 14% increase in just one year.

I am still waiting for the 2025 numbers, but I expect the refusal rate may be around 70%. It is increasingly difficult to get a visitor visa under the pretense of attending a conference, unless you have a close family member who is a permanent resident or citizen. or you have Money alot of it or have an active US Visa

Firstly rejection is at a all time high

That being said during the festive period, most people are either resting or strategizing for the coming year.

However, I am already seeing many so called “World Cup visa” offers circulating on Telegram groups, with agents trying to sell World Cup visa packages to Toronto and Vancouver.

Unfortunately, many people will fall prey to these schemes and end up with 5 year bans. It’s going to be interesting times next year.

This trend will likely increase next year, especially among people who are desperate to travel.

Compliment of the season to you all. Please, I intend to process a Visitor Visa for my wife, and she will be going for a conference. My wife has no travel history. My question is, if she has a solid home tie, good sop, and strong proof of finance, what's her chances of getting approval? Putting into consideration that she has no travel history.
Please add more context to your explanation. it will help us help you For example:

(1) What type of conference is she attending? is the conference directly related to her job ? eg If your wife is a doctor or works in the medical field, and the conference is a biotechnology or medical conference, then the purpose of travel makes sense.

(2) What do you mean by solid home ties?

(3) What makes her Statement of Purpose (SOP) strong?

(4) What qualifies as strong proof of funds? and how much does she make monthly (or saved) or the person sponsoring her make and who is sponsoring her?

Hello Sir

Canada places a lot of emphasis on consistency, since you said you have been a banker since 2018, my advice is that you pursue a program in Management or Finance.

Health will not cut it at the Visa stage (you could get an admission for a health care program, and get bounced at the visa stage for inconsistencies in career path) because you have no working experience in that sector.

All the best
EmmanuelCena I agree with this statement

Canada places a lot of emphasis on consistency you can get an admission because schools just want international student money but the visa process will be very difficult as you are currently not doing anything in healthcare..

It does not add up and IRCC will look at your application that way..

Some colleges prefer or require international applicants to use visa or recruitment agents that are based in the applicant’s country of residence. If you send an email to that address, the school will give you a list of agents approved by the college that you can contact.

sibling is a single lady, working abroad, with over 50k euros in account, to support the applicant, applicant and family have over 70m naira in account also, sibling has previously supported with 10m, which is explained with affidavit.
That’s good. Now, the best thing you can do is let your sibling pay your acceptance fee directly from their account so it clearly shows the payment came from them.

I know the acceptance fee is usually around 15% of the first-year tuition. Make sure your sibling provides proof of income, tax returns from their country, and proof of residency.

They should also explain that you are their younger sibling, you have always wanted to pursue the program you are applying for, and they want the best for you. That’s why they are co-supporting your studies in Canada.

They should clearly state the exact amount they are giving you and show that they paid your acceptance fee to demonstrate their financial capability. Their 6-month bank statement should also reflect the acceptance fee payment.

This makes the application much easier. for co-sponsorship I wish you all the best

can a sibling co-sponsor a family of 4?
Yes, a sibling can co-sponsor, but IMO the real question you need to answer for IRCC is why your sibling whether single or married would want to co-sponsor a family of four when they already have their own responsibilities.

Unless they have significant financial capacity or there is a proven record of supporting you over the years with evidence, IRCC may question the genuineness and sustainability of the sponsorship.

Thank you for your response.

I was filling the form online and got to the section the asked about national ID issued date.

I only have the NIN slip, and it does not have an issue date. I don’t have the card yet.

How do I fill this part ?

2. Do i address my letter to the high commission in Lagos or Abuja?

I
(1) Leave Issue Date Blank or Put “Unknown” (if the system allows). Some fields allow “Unknown”, “N/A”, or allow you to leave it blank. If it accepts it, this is the best option. put provide your SIN print out in additional documents

then

(2) You do NOT need to address it to Lagos or Abuja. All Canadian visa applications from Nigeria are processed online and handled by IRCC visa officers, not by the physical high commissions.

Please House, I need urgent help!

I am currently applying for my Canadian study permit, and I am sponsoring myself with additional financial support from my cousin. I have CAD $42,000 in my personal savings, and my cousin has an AXA Mansard investment balance of ₦83,000,000. I also have all the supporting documents to prove our family relationship.

My confusion is about what amount to declare as my total available funds. Should I:
1. Combine my full savings with his full investment balance,
OR
2. State that he will be supporting me with ₦40,000,000, even though his sponsorship letter does not specify any amount?

His sponsorship letter simply states that he will be supporting me financially but does not mention a specific figure. I am unsure how to present this properly in my Proof of Funds and Letter of Explanation.

Please, I need guidance.
Before you think of what option to go for This is how IRCC may view your application:

(1) Do you and your cousin share the same surname?

(2) Why is your cousin going out of his way to sponsor you in any way?

(3) Do you and your cousin have any established documentation proving your relationship?

(4) Has your cousin sponsored your education in the past, and do you have receipts or school records to prove it?

The best approach is to let your sponsor pay the 15% first-year tuition fee (often called the “acceptance fee”) to establish that your cousin is financially committed. Make sure the funds come directly from his account so you can use his statement of account that as proof.

He also has to extablsh how he got that funds.. and all that

Use this to help establish a genuine relationship; otherwise, IRCC may not take the application seriously if you present your uncle as your financial sponsor.

Hi everyone,

I recently gained admission to a university in Canada for the Fall 2026–2027 academic year. At the time, I didn’t fully understand how the student visa application process works. I am currently building up my bank account to meet the financial requirements, and it will reach the required 4–6 months of activity by April 2026.

My question is: will this timeline affect my visa application, considering that I received my admission offer in late November 2025 and the Fall semester begins in September 2026?

I would appreciate any guidance or feedback. Thank you in advance.
If I understand your question correctly, you would be applying by April and are asking whether applying by April 2026 gives you enough time to receive a visa for Fall 2026, which begins in September 2026.

If that is your question, then the answer is yes.

Processing time is currently estimated at six weeks, although it can sometimes take longer. However, you should be fine if you apply by that time.

The officer’s decision notes can give you an idea of why your visa was refused. However, if you did not submit the application yourself especially if you used a Facebook visa agent and are unsure what they submitted you should request your GCMS notes.

GCMS notes contain detailed information about your application from A to Z.

Can he do the biometric at the Canada Visa Application Center (VFS) in London?
That's not a problem You can go to any VAC – it doesn’t have to be in your country of residence. .

Book an appointment as soon as possible, but before the BIL expires (generally 30 days).

Does Canada still give 10 years tourist visa?

Can I apply now if I wish to travel in June ?
It all depends on your application.

Yes, they can give you a visa that matches the remaining validity on your passport. So, if your passport is valid for 10 years, they may issue a visa for 9 or 10 years.

However, that usually only happens if you have a strong travel history and you are not considered a high-risk traveler

In the end, it depends on the visa officer, who will decide how many months or years you are given on your passport.

For example, my sister who lives in the UK, she was given a two-year visa based on the remaining validity of her Nigerian passport.

So, it all depends on your individual case, circumstances, and the visa officer handling your application.

French isn’t just for Quebec. It’s one of Canada’s official languages, so IRCC treats it as a priority skill. That’s why French speakers get their own Express Entry draws with lower cutoffs. The Nov 28, 2025 draw invited 6000 people at a CRS of 408.

If someone can combine decent English with CLB 7 French, their chances increase a lot. Right now, language is the most powerful tool to boost CRS, especially for those over 30. Learning French is simply strategy, not politics.
Bill 96 (passed in 2022) and the more recent Bill 84 are the reasons why the federal government bent over for Quebec on July 7, 2023, and carried out the first French-based category draw, Even tho express entry Draw as we all know it since January 31, 2015

Calm down I do not type what I don’t know. So ask yourself this: if language is truly a “skill,” why doesn’t the government run English-based draws the same way it pushes only French-based draws? Please answer that question.

you might say we have more English speakers than French but that's all over the world as french is a dying language and most French speakers out of their country have another language they speake.

Quebec is the only province with a comprehensive accord that gives it sole responsibility for selecting most of its economic immigrants and setting its own annual immigration targets. This means that, while other provinces have a significant voice in immigration selection through the PNP, Quebec is the only jurisdiction in Canada that runs a virtually parallel system for economic immigration ..one the federal government is legally required to recognize and support.

If you understand Canadian politics and the French -English dynamic stemming from the Quebec sovereignty movement including the key periods (1960s–1970s rise of the movement, the 1980 referendum, and the 1995 referendum) you will understand the bigger picture.

Equalization payments since 1957 are another reason the government keeps Quebec satisfied enough to remain within Canada.

This is not the forum to dive into every detail, but the reality is that the federal government goes out of its way to appease Quebec and the French-category draw is just another example of that.
