I doubt if this release emanated from IPOB.

I like what u posted here:
One of the editors of the Nigerian Lawyer blog wrote that wigs weren’t made for the sweltering Lagos heat, where lawyers wilted under their garb. “The culture that invented wig and gown is different from our own and the weather is different,” Unini Chioma wrote. ......
But seriously guys, doesn't this fellow look like some sort of an idiotic caricature?! UNBELIEVABLE!! You dig up the picture of a sound lawyer who spent hours representing his client in court, you paste it on social media and then you call him an "Idiotic Caricature"!! You're the one who's unbelievable. You guys need to be careful. There are now laws regulating the Nigerian cyber space. If you're arraigned in court over this despicable conduct, hope you'll be able to defend yourself without the services of lawyers. |

Family › Re: Man Earns 150k In Lagos & Wife Earns 750k In Kaduna, Who Should Resign? by Anaskie(m): 10:33pm On Jul 15, 2018 |
Let the patriarchy continue. We like it that way.
If the man resigns and relocates to join his wife, it's the same woman that will complain after only 2 weeks of his staying at home.
Tomorrow, she will go on social media and post one chronicle, lamenting how her husband does nothing but sit at home. She will purposely omit how the man resigned from his job to make their marriage work.
And in the usual manner, the bitter, social media feminists will insult the living hell out of the man.
Assuming she's a good wife and doesn't complain or lament on social media, her family members will be the ones to nag him to death when he finds it difficult to get another job after only 1 month.
We hear these stories everyday.
At the end of the day, its not really about patriachy. Women made us this way. |

Food › Re: Why Do We Always Cook Rice On Sundays? by Anaskie(m): 11:35am On Jun 24, 2018 |
Metaphorically: I don't mean this in a negative way but it is an Igbo thing. Growing up, we ate anything on Sunday until I lived briefly with my sister who married an Igbo. Of course she didn't practice it but we had her mother in law who talked about it a lot. Her husband friends and all the other in-laws too would come around on Sundays and be like, 'its Sunday why didn't you cook rice'? They got used to it eventually. I will agree with you on this. I'm Igbo and we eat rice every Sunday in my family. Its not like we don't eat it on other days of the week though, but we must eat it every Sunday. Right now, I'm patiently waiting for the rice to get ready. All my relatives and friends who are Igbos also eat rice on Sundays too. I'm very surprised to find out now that it's not every family in Nigeria that eats rice on Sundays. I thought it was a general thing. There's something special about Sunday rice. |

Politics › Re: NO Public Holiday On June 12, 2018 - (MKO Abiola Day) - Presidency by Anaskie(m): 8:03pm On Jun 08, 2018 |
EzeNri: Buhari don dey press their button.
The next June 12th is in 2019, when he new government is in power. If Buhari is re-elected and sworn in on 29th May, he can chose to set that aside.
The Spirit of Nigerian Democracy is seen when a democratically elected President transits power to a newly elected president.
If we hand over democratic government on 29th May, what again are we celebrating on the 12th June.
A Gazette is not Act of Parliament, one Executive Order can set it aside.
If Buhari is serious, he should send a bill to the National Assembly and formally institutionalize that.
But if he fails to do that, any President can set that aside.
How many Executive Orders did Trump cancelled. If ObamaCare is a product of an Executive Order, Trump would have cancelled that since ages. God bless you for this brother. Exactly what I've been saying. It's refreshing to see that there are still intelligent people on Nairaland. |
Business › Re: Supreme Court Orders Gtbank To Pay Innoson Boss N12bn In 14 Days by Anaskie(m): 9:24pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
babaolofin: Ordinarily, I should not have answered you, but I noticed you mentioned NDIC/AMCON helping failed banks. You also talked about merger & acquisition. I suspect you are a little bit literate. With 12 billion out of GT Bank coffer, GT Bank is a failed bank? So, NDIC will help bank that can meet depositors obligations. What brought AMCON & merger & acquisition here.
Though, I attended higher institution in the East, but I retained my intellect as a South Westerner. Your people destroyed most of our failed banks. Remember, this is not the economy your madam left. In your attempt to sound smart, you only ended up sounding extremely silly. And i'm very disappointed. First of all, what's brining South Westerner intellect and Eastern university into our conversation? That's extremely petty and totally uncalled for ....especially for someone who is alleging to be 'intellectual' Secondly, what in the world do you mean by "your people destroyed most of the failed banks" ? ... And who is this unnamed "madam" you're referring to? You're sounding like a broken cassette tape. However, since you have attempted to sound fairly literate, let me kindly school you on certain things you do not know. From a legal point of view, a merger is the legal consolidation of two entities into one entity, whereas an acquisition occurs when one entity takes ownership of another entity's stock, equity interests or assets. For instance, Eco Bank acquired Oceanic Bank when the latter began to have financial challenges. Most of our new generation banks like Access and FCMB are products of the mergers of various banks. I said categorically earlier on that the Bank may not fall, but if this judgment is true, it will definitely affect the Bank and jobs will be lost. How on earth do you want to dispute this fact? Haven't you heard of panic withdrawals before? If everyone begins to withdraw their savings from the Bank, it will definitely affect the Bank's capital base. And kindly note that N12 billion is very big for a Bank with a net income of only about N90billion. If you do not know the role of AMCON and the banking industry, then you'll have to research on that. I have given you enough free lectures for today. Next time, stop trying being a smart ass when your clearly blissfully ignorant! Now run along. |
Business › Re: Supreme Court Orders Gtbank To Pay Innoson Boss N12bn In 14 Days by Anaskie(m): 7:08pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
babaolofin: Why are you behaving like illiterate uncivilized main market trader? The assets of GT Bank alone is more than 12 billion. NDIC will never declare GT Bank insolvent because of 12 billion naira or fraudulent judgement. The Ibos last year, said they will withdraw their money & the bank will fall, I said it is an empty noise. The bank continues to grow in strength despite the threat. Now, you think 12 billion will sink the bank when all your frauds cannot sink the bank.
It is your people that will lose at the end. Now, we know your behavior. You are envious of GT Bank. Bros calm down. Several banks have failed in Nigeria and NDIC/AMCON couldn't help them. At best, a stronger bank will acquire the assets of the Bank or there will be a merger. Let's face facts, if N12billion leaves the coffers of GTB, it will definitely affect the bank's capital base. Besides, if this is actually the Supreme Court's judgment, it will throw customers into panic withdrawals, thereby further damaging the bank's assets. The best GTB can do now is to quickly negotiate terms of payment with Innoson to cover a long term period, else they might not survive this. Furthermore, they need to engage in aggressive PR to repair their damaged reputation. The bank may not fall, but then it will greatly suffer and many jobs will definitely be lost I have many friends in GTB. I pray this isn't true. |

isbish: Which ever way you look at it, PMB did what his predecessors refused to do. This will good very well with the Yoruba nation and at this time, who wouldn't want to further appease these great people of the South West? They know how to play politics and so far, they are reaping it all good at all fronts. Our Igbo brothers, look inward and learn how to play politics, which is a give and take game.
Igbos should learn from the Yorubas. Politics is all about interest. You can let go of your hatred and disdain for a leader and even pretend that you like him to get what you seek in politics. That's the idea not continuous and never ending generationally passed on hatred and slanders against others you share the same country space with.
I rest my case. June 12, I will relax at home and celebrate with the Yorubas. Must you drag the Igbos into everything! How in the world does the declaration of June 12 as a national holiday mean victory for the Yoruba nation and disdain for the Igbos? What s wrong with You? Why the hate? |
