I do not usually spare those who insult the Igbo as a group. If he had picked individuals to insult that may be tolerable.

@chinyen,

U made a moronicc reference that had nothing to do with the comment made by Obiagu. I can see you like to argue blindly just for the sake of argument and lack the ability to admit when u are wrong and shut the hell up. If some1 had simply mentioned ngwa out of nowhere you will be beating your chest like a village man by now. Knowing very well that you can't even take a joke or comment about your Ngwa village I suggest you dont go that route with other ppl. You know how to dish it but sure cant take it. Like I said focus on him Obiagu and leave Anambra and Nri out of this you silly child.

Thanx.

@Asha, please ask him. Dude has been living in the US since he was a baby yet reasons like a village man. Imagine someone in the US in this day and age still yipyappin about Anambra and Nri. Please leave that silly crap alone in the village. It is 2011.

What do you mean by that obfuscating comment? huh Clearly Bello was already under armed arrest when he was shot. I strongly suspect that the shooting of his wife happened as Nzeogwu decided to eliminate him.
When the coupist came after Ekwueme and Shagari in Dec 1983 coup, did their wives and bodyguards intervene?.
We all no the consequences of their stubbornness.
Why Katsumoto insists on replying the "Crazy Trio" (Eziachi, Dede1, and Andre Uweh) is still beyond me. If you notice I've giving up on them. They know the truth, they know the world knows. . . . With their blatant lies, they aint aiming for me and you, no sirreee, they aim is innocent Ibo kids that are presently reading all of this, that will buy they lies hook, line, and sinker (maybe cause they've heard their parents, uncles, etc state these same lies in the past) and continue to live in hate after they are dead and gone (Eziachi is almost a thousand years old, so he should be gone any minute). . . . .

The ONLY ones that tell these same lies day in and day out are the Ibos! They arent that stu*pid to think anyone buys their lies, but these monkeys hope to keep hate alive by spreading lies to their younger generation. But, thats their problem! Next time, kill everyone equally! Thats what I say.

Check this out: Now theyve forgotten the role they played in trying to make sure GEJ did not ascend the throne just because hes part of the Ijaw People (and they didnt want another minority group getting to Aso Rock before them). . . . They've forgotten how they rallied around Ojukwu in supporting Gen.IBB. . . .  Theyve "forgotten" all of this; U THINK GEJ WILL EVER FORGET?!
ROFLMAO!!!

Katsumoto:
This is how Bello was killed. If they had no intention of killing, why did they go to his house with anti-tank (Carl-Gustav) guns? Why was he shot if he was hiding?

' In the early hours of January15 1966, Nzeogwu decided to turn “Exercise Damisa” into a full-blown military coup. Nzeogwu led a group of soldiers into a bush adjacent to the Premier’s Lodge. Once there Nzeogwu informed the men of their real mission: they were to attack the Premier’s Lodge. Nzeogwu and his men blew open the gates to the Sardauna’s lodge and Nzeogwu personally conducted a search of the residence – hunting for Bello. After losing his temper at his initial failure to locate him, Nzeogwu found Bello hiding with his wives. Bello was shot by Nzeogwu. Bello’s faithful bodyguard who came to defend him with a bow and arrows was also shot, as well as one of his wives who tried to shield him with her body.'
Your post did not in any way highlight that he surrendered to the khaki boys. His family and bodyguard shielded him from arrest and what they got was what they bargained for. If a man with a hand on a trigger comes to arrest you, do you refuse arrest. Your post is a clarity to what am saying.
When the military men of Buhari/Idiagbo came for Ekwueme in Dec 1983, did he resist arrest, did he go into hiding, did his family come to shield him?. If he had done that, what do you think would have happened?.

People need to forget about this evil genius ambition. IBB AKA Badamosi Babangida the greatest looter of African generation is no longer relevant in Nigerian politics.

People need to stop the love fest for this disgusting atrocious dictator ruler. We live in a different time that demands different strategy and vision to liberate my beloved people of Nigerians.
If he is not relevant as you claim, how did he deliver his state and most of north west geo-political zone to Atiku?.

Mind you, the events of 1966-1970 has not really been covered. Facts are still emerging and even some of the facts that have emerged are false. Believe you me.
The biggest mistake that the coupist did was kill Ahamadu Bello. That was a complete mistake on their part. Now he was the most beloved leader out of all the politicians that were killed. That is something I cannot wrap my mind around. Why kill the #2 man to the Sultan of Sokoto?
Those military men did not intend to kill him. He and his family resisted arrest and the penalty for that was death.
The family had not seen such before and took the soldiers for a ride. Till date, anyone who refuses arrest during a military coup pays heavily with his life.

Some Igbo people born outside Igboland have found themselves spelling Ibo because of where they were raised. But they are wrong and do not know that they are. So every opportunity by Ndigbo is tailored towards correcting this insane attitude.

Jonathan, Ndigbo and so on…
CHUKS ILOEGBUNAM
With President Goodluck Jonathan’s swift annihilation of opponents in the recent People Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary contest, it is important to review the road we have travelled, in order to have a fairly clear idea of our destination. We must start from the Igbo country, if only because charity should always begin at home. There was a load of rubbish published against President Jonathan and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the run up to the primary election. The persecutors were Ndigbo who claimed the North had promised us the presidency in 2015. General Ibrahim Babangida would serve a single term as President of Nigeria and hand over the presidential baton to some anointed Igbo politician!
Of those who believed the fairy tale, it amounted to dangerous political naivety. This left some of us in a state of unmitigated embarrassment. First, it was obvious that the spreaders of the story were unquestionably dishonest because they certainly knew that the "agreement’ they were citing was meaningless, insulting and incapable of implementation. Secondly, and standing on their dubious pedestal, they went ahead to vilify some of the more responsible and respected Igbo icons alive today, including Chief Raph Uwechue, and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo that he heads as president-general. I telephoned some of those disorientating Igbo position on this year’s general elections with a simple question: "Why should a door slammed in Potiskum, Yobe State, shatter our fingers in Abakaliki, Awka, Enugu, Owerri and Umuahia?"
In the end, the voting pattern at the PDP primary showed that the machinations against the truth were futile. The delegates underscored the correctness of the position of Ambassador Raph Uwechue’s Ohanaeze Ndigbo. The decision transcended ethnic and religious demarcations. Those who traduced Ohanaeze for selfish reasons should by now be licking their wounds. On our part, we knew all along that Ohanaeze’s position was unimpeachable. As someone in government in Awka who is in close and constant contact with the rest of the Igbo country, it was obvious to me that a vast majority of both our politicians and our people were rooting for the continued presidency of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. What I could scarcely get over was the nerve with which a tiny fraction of the Igbo elite kept hammering it on our collective psyche that our preference was for tired, Draconian and rudderless politicians and "militicians". We thought that, with the sidelining of Ibrahim Babangida, Aliu Mohammed Gusau and Bukola Saraki by Adamu Ciroma’s Consensus Committee, the loudspeakers would stop belting their disingenuous rap, for our eardrums to have a respite.
Instead they relocated in Atiku Abubakar’s camp to inflict on all of us the severest haranguing in living memory. These fellows pretended to be altruistic. They deceived no one on this score because they knew we knew that all their hot air was for the plump job and/or the payday. As the Igbo saying goes, we wear clothes for the outsider; every insider knows the shape of each other’s buttocks. A few of them coveted the position of running mate. In parenthesis, I should point out that I previously described this lot as "perpetual vice-presidential careerists" in my biography of General Aguiyi-Ironsi. Others eyed the ministerial or ambassadorial appointment, while the third eleven among them jostled for the odd contract or the local government sinecure. My research so far has not thrown up any other Nigerian ethnic group that its own denizens would so misinform, ridicule and negate for a mess of porridge. Elsewhere the Eagle Square disgrace of these characters would serve as deterrent against future misbehavior. But like recidivists, I predict that they would sooner line up behind Nuhu Ribadu, a political upstart, and claim that the fellow has promised to be President for only 30 days, after which he would hand over power to an Igbo politician. In a word, these guys are chicken chasers; they know the lot of chicken chasers,
Coming to the Atiku-Jonathan square off, there are two inescapable conclusions. The first one is that the politics of old has given way to a new era of realism. As an elder statesman, Alhaji Adamu Ciroma was expected to espouse the political brotherhood of the Nigerian nation. But he chose to propagate the ethnic card. When voting day came, his consensus candidate was dealt the thrashing of his life. The score line across state after state, apart from rendering Ciroma speechless, has shown that the new Nigerian politics is more about the politician’s ability to deliver and the unity of purpose that will serve the rest of society’s best interests than any other consideration. Ciroma’s political Waterloo would have been even more decisively humiliating had Gusau, Saraki and Babangida been on the primary ballot. They would have been involved in an uncanny rearguard tussle for supremacy with the inimitable Dr. (Mrs.) Sarah Jibril. So much for the politics of antiquity and covetousness.
The second lesson is a plus for President Jonathan. We saw and clearly remember how contentious and fractious previous PDP presidential primaries were. But, this time around, things worked out in orderliness and transparency. President Jonathan has promised and reiterated that he would deliver free, fair and credible elections this year. He has been working at it. He appointed a sensible and credible personality to head the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a clear sign of his good intentions. He went further to ensure that all the tools and funding required for successful elections were promptly made available to INEC. I have since found out that the President kept all those involved in organizing his party’s primary election on their toes, insisting that he will settle for nothing other than credibility, fully conscious of the fact that a transparent primary contest can only presage a landmark general election in April . There is nothing more to ask for.
