Even Mimiko a medical doctor left his profession and play do or die politics. Now I heard that all the thugs in Ondo State have been blessed with new cars to pave way for labour party.Anyway power of incubence is on it. But people should be very careful not to cause comotion in Idanre and Owo.Or else, state of emergency will be declared. And this will put an end to the reign of labour party. Nice. |

@Abagworo. I have read archived text of the Ndokis and it links to Bini migration. Having said that, I have interacted a lot with Ndokis. Last Christmas, I was invited to their end of year party in London. Even the immediate past president of Igbo Youths U.K is an Ndoki chap from Rivers state. There may be some element of Truth in your assertion but I will not accept the Ijaw theory which is being propagated by the Ijaws. |

^^^ I disagree with the Ijaw linkage of Ndoki people. In Lagos and Ondo states where Ijaws have links, names, language and occupation are easily traceable. But in Ndokiland, it is virtually non existent. There are Ndoki villages in Ibibioland especially Ika and Etim Ekpo LGA's but not the other way round. |

naijaking1: Our republican nature as Igbos made sense when we were widely spread out across the land, not any more, not in this internet, facebook, and tweeter age. Recent geopolitical events since the 1960s to date seem to show that the umbrella Igbo group Ohaneze is not even political enough. With time, this group will come to substitute for our lack of central monarchy, and present Igbos numerical superiority for what it ought to be. The Iwa-ji festivals are not the only prerogative of the Ohaneze. WELL SAID SIR. |

alj harem1: can you just be sensible for once !!!! learn to talk to people ChinenyeN, i agree with you that we can keep our dialect; whether ngwa, oku, nnewi, oka etc
but brother you have to see reason here, what i mean is that; there have to be common language that unite us igbos
think of it, in the future when all the igbos have adopted 1 dialect and ngwa is still differnet, do you not think ngwas then will say they are not igbos or do you not think discrimination will start
think if oka, nnewi etc drop there dialect for the greater good in aligbo what make ngwa different
remember unity is first before any dialect we are keeping, the more united we are in terms of language and culture the better it is for us.
i know you love ngwa dialect but at the end of the day,
please ChineneyeN give it a good thought Well said. |

ChinenyeN: Andre, what do you know about Ndoki? (serious question). Killayut, I really do believe you're skewing the Ngwa/Igbo factor in Okoloma history when you say that the Ngwa "seized power". From the traditions I've been told, overheard, read and otherwise come across, Okoloma was founded after Beni Ijaw came in contact with Ngwa Igbo in what is now Ndoki. If anything, the Ngwa were amongst the founders of the earliest 'houses'. So to say that they came and seized power just sounds wrong. I'm only just saying. Not meant to drag out into an unending debate. Though I get where you're coming from. It is always the Ijaws claiming how they founded Ndokiland. Always rewriting the history of a people. How many Ndoki people believes that. Ndokis claim that they are Igbo from Ancient Benin Kingdom. This Ijaw nonsense must stop now. |

@Alh Harem: The map Uchenna posted has Agbor in the West; Enugwu Ezike (Nsukka) in the north; Arochukwu in the East and Half of Port Harcourt in the south. It did not even include Igbanke in Edo state, Okpokwu in Benue state and Ndoki in Akwa Ibom state. So you can see that he has not claimed non Igbo towns but excuded some Igbo towns. |

Politics › Re: Video Footage Of Aguiyi-ironsi, Nzeogwu, Sardauna’s House, Katsina…. by AndreUweh(m): 12:39am On Feb 16, 2011 |
Katsumoto: Action Group was not a Yoruba party because it had members who were from the mid-west such as Alfred Rewane, Anthony Enahoro, Michael Okorodudu, Reece Edunkugho, Ogbemi Rewani, Gaius Obaseki, Ighodaro, Oronsaye, C. N. Ekwuyasi, etc. Granted the AG had more Yoruba members than the other groups but this was obviously because the Yoruba were a clear majority in the West. When the Western House of Assembly opened in 1952, 21 of the 24 delegates were NCNC candidates but over time, majority moved to the AG because of the pro-Igbo stance of the NCNC.
Also bear in mind that of the three regions, it was only the AG which allowed a state to be carved from with it. At the time there was agitation for mid-west state, there was also agitation for a COR state in the Eastern region and a middle-belt state in the Northern region. If AG wanted to dominate the minorities in its midst, it would have severely opposed the creation of the mid-west state just as the eastern and northern regions opposed the creation of COR and middle-belt states respectively. The west had no choice but to allow them go. If they had their way, they could have obstructed it. Agreed, A.G had non Yorubas, but the rationale behind transforming a Yoruba cultural association as a political party that will represent other non Yorubas is what I hereby question. |
