On he game, good squad use. Though we lost the game, the two goals were enough. Very much impressed with Nathan Ake. The boy has very a good sense of space and his use of the ball seems well beyond his age. Thrice now he's played and showed that when called upon, there are some boys that can do a job. Good game by most involved. I don't know what Benayoun does in his spare time. Dude has forgotten how to play football.

JT and David Luiz were in total disarray. Mikel watched on for the 2nd goa. Ake who was further away from play spotted the danger and reacted even quicker.

Moses? Apart from the odd goal this guy scores, I still do not get him. Very poor decision making in the final third every single time he plays. Sublime pass by Lampard for the first goal and a good finish by Torres (20 goals).

Into the semis.
Moses was always tracking back to assist Ferreira at the left back. In fact he was my Chelsea man of the match in Moscow earlier today.

Oyigbo is not a people. It's an LGA that was named (or renamed) from Obigbo town, which was established in the 20th century by hinterland Igbo immigrants who were looking for work in the new oil industry. The indigenes of Oyigbo are Asa and Ndoki, but Obigbo has since been integrated to the point that it is now an Ndoki community. In my honest opinion, Obigbo is practically no different from "Izugbe", but that's just them. The other [indigenous] communities don't sound like that, and instead sound more like communities in Ukwa and Ngwa areas.
I was about to write same then I saw your post.
Sports / Re: Taribo Was 40 While Claiming 28 – Former Partizan President by AndreUweh(m): 12:23am On Apr 06, 2013
Lets get this right.
There was no WAEC in Imo state in 1989, as the state started implementing the 6334 education system that year. That means that the set in 1889 class 5 went to ss3 in 1990.
But it was not implemented nationwide. My elder brother was transferred from Imo state to IBadan in Oyo state and in that 1989, he sat for his WAEC at Emmanuel college, Samonda, Ibadan.
So, it is wrong for anyone to have accused Kanu of writing WAEC in 89. False

Depends what you mean by "take over". I believe that Saraki tried something like that in Kwara it is not clear where that stands now. In many European countries farming runs in families so it is difficult to get upp one day and say I'm going to be a farmer without any experience or role models. It takes generations to acquire knowledge and culture that works in each country. What works in China might not work in Nigeria. Farming creates wealth but it does not create jobs directly in fact it causes job losses by introducing efficiency. The more efficient an economy gets the greater skill required to get a job as machines tend to supplant humans. It is possible to shop in a supermarket or use the Post Office interacting only with machines these days!
This is not necessarily a bad thing but we must know what to expect so we can anticipate and plan. The downstream sector of enhanced agricultural output may create more jobs in processing industries, logistics etc. There may be a place for foreigners but food security is like your military even more crucial. We need to acquire the skills ourselves. Certainly we can learn to produce more rice, fish and chicken within 20 years and develop a farming culture attractive to youths, We need to start thinking how to coordinate with our neighbouring countries particularly with regard to disease/pest control but also other ways of increasing productivity etc
I understand everything you are saying. A lot of sense in it, however it is not working in Nigeria. All the efforts are not yielding results. We have pests control teams, fertilisers are distributed even freely to farmers, a lot of mechanical agriculture introduced in the north.
During IBB regime, banks were created which assisted farmers, yet where are the banks and the farmers today. Ndidi Babangida also came up with Better life programme which assisted grassroots women in agriculture, yet nothing came out of it. I have lost home for our agric sector, let foreign investors take over.
Politics / Re: The African Economic Revolution by AndreUweh(m): 12:51am On Apr 03, 2013
Am primarily interested in the agricultural aspect of this economic revolution. It. May be odd coming from. Me, why can't we allow foreign investors to take over our agric sectors?. F.g has spent billions in agriculture and still spending with the required results.
I think it's high time to allow foreigners be on the lead.

I would be surprised if a company was called 'Falcons Bottling company' in Nigeria, I think the company was Premier Breweries and the club was named 'Premier Breweries Falcons football club of Aba'.
Shame the NFA or NFF don't have a website with an archives page.

I wonder if it was Golden Guinea Falcons of Umuahia actually!
Golden Guinea was based at Umuahia while Falcons was at Aba. When the then Imo state retook Falcons and renamed it Enyimba, another club sprang up in Aba though short lived . That club was called Dubic Fc. Probably Falcons and Dubic were same bottling company.

I think it was Tarila Okoronwanta who joined IICC from Insurance. Later he left for Ivory Coast.
Yes, Liberty is at Oke Ado around Ring Road.

The original Abiola Babes were disbanded in 1988, you must mean 1987. Nationale players did well to score their penalties against Ansah.
Benjy Nzeakor the first taker for Nationale lost his kick

Please it's Rangers first and others next. We don't share the first spot. Rangers history alone thumps Enyimba. Enyimba is a relatively new team that was founded in the 90s. Though they've achieved a lot in this short time but Rangers still retains the number one spot.
Enyimba was founded in 1976. Do not bet over this

Rangers raided P & T (later NITEL) Vasco Da Gama more than they did either Spartans or Enyimba.
Was there an Eastern league? I thought below the National League structure were individual state leagues.
Indeed, there was an Eastern Nigeria league. It was mostly for East central states but it was called the eastern Nigerian league. Teams like P&T Spiders, Enyimba , Golden Guinea etc played in that league. Spartans drew players from this league.

Not necessarily, they only started playing against similarly well organised clubs (Ahly Nationale, Zamalek, Esperance, Africa Sports, ASEC etc) in continental competions and there was no guarantee they would do as well as they did playing against Naija teams.
Very debatable.

I think it was a beer brewering team from Aba that was called Falcons. I can't remember the name of the parent company but I saw them play against IBWA Sharpshooters in the mid to late 80's at Onikan stadium. They had this fast short striker up front that was a class above everybody else on the pitch that day. Ogbuefi Phillip Osondu went on to represent Nigeria at an U17 world cup later on, The rest as they say is history.
It's Falcons bottling company at Aba.

Did they go about killing innocent people, children, stealing goats and yams, raping women and shelling inhabited buildings ?.
