Let's hope this sad incident doesn't hasten the death of HID. May he RIP |
Van snickers: Why can't you People leave us alone?! Is it by force??!!You people, who are they?. |
Katsumoto: Apart from Owerri, can you tell us the other parts that were recovered by Biafra? Was it Calabar, Nsukka, Enugu, Ikot Ekpene, Port Harcourt, Aba?Apart frpom Owerri, Biafrans continued to resist the enemies even in territories that were in enemy hands. Some of this towns were not completely in enemies hands until the end of war. Believe me, it was too difficult to surrender. Even with the fall of Enugu and the air port, one would have expected Biafra to surrender. Yet they came up immediately with another idea-Uli and Uga air strips. Did they fall also before the war ended?. NOOO. |
Katsumoto: Of course they didn't discuss surrender because their territory was growing daily and it wasn't their wives and children who were dying daily. There was no need for Ojukwu to surrender as long as Federal soldiers had not entered his street.Biafrans continued for a long time to fight as they were also reclaiming territories lost to the enemy. I wish Biafra surrendered early but it was not possible because they also fought well. |
Katsumoto: and failed to surrender when it was obvious he was going to lose.Ojukwu regularly met with his war time service chiefs and there was no time they discussed surrender. Even if you were a member of that cabinet, you will be in a difficult position to accept defeat. For example, Oguta is lost today and in 4 days time Biafra reclaims it. The situation remained like that till the end of hostilities. |
T9ksy: Please, can you etell us which part of the aburi accord, gowon failed to honour which necessitated ojukwuThe issue of conferderation was not implemented and Gowon did not show signs of implementing it. Ojukwu did not go to war as he did not declare any war. Biafra was attacked, first by Shuwa of the fiorst division. Biafra defendeded her territories |
dayokanu: The lives of those killed are fully on Ojuku who declared the war to start withAt what point did Ojukwu declare war?. Did he?. |
ACM10: @Katsumoto,Did Gowon actually honour it?. Anyway, the most important ones were not honoured |
ACM10: That's good! But your history teacher forgot to tell you that Awo secretly sent Akintola to negotiate with Balewa to form a coalition government while he was in active negotiation with Zik.ignore the half literate boy |
Katsumoto: Ojukwu planned for war, he just didn't plan adequately. Did Ojukwu not utter these words - "on the specific question of whether there is a possibility of contact with the North, the answer is at the battlefield". Pre-1967, was there any nation that achieved independence without negotiation or force? Why would Ojukwu think that secession would not result in military action?Appointing military governors does not mean they will serve forever. There is nothing to show that the governors Gen Ironsi appointed have permanently replaced the civilians. Assuming, a state of emergency is declared in Bornu or Yobe and a military man appointed to handle the affairs of the affected state. Would you not understand why such a move was made:?. |
Eng Gordon Ezekwe: Under his Biafran science and research institute, Biafra were able to produce Ogbunigwe. rockets, grenades, shields, helments etc. Infact under him, we prpoduced weapons that killed the ememies more than the imported ones. Eng Ezekwe, my numero uno. |
FSU: Hush!If she had only said Yorubas are ignorant, that might be accepted, but saying Yorubas are morons and stupidd ..................... |
That Olunloyo of a girl is mad. She needs to go to Aro. |
Since the arrival of Emenalo, Chelsea has won the holy grail and lots of trophies. Emenalo has done nothing wrong at Chelsea. His arrival at Chelsea has also helped to recruit two Nigerian internationals eg Moses and Omeruo. It's a pity Nigerians do not want fellow Nigerians to do well. Bad belle . |
FBS: Meanwhile the Russians are running rings round the Brazilians. Scolari na olodo rabata. How I wish you watched him at the emirates sometime ago when he single-handed lay destroyed Scotland. He also did well at the Olympics last summer. |

@Topic, no. He did not insult Yorubas but spoke nice of them. E.g, Amos Tutola, Solarin, Soyinka, Jacoab Ade-Ajayi, Hubert Ogunde etc. Go and figure. |
Already, there is or was a film of Things Fall Apart in Igbo. Search for it. |
@Topic, politically, Prof Achebe could have done a lot to promote Nigeria if Nigerians had voted him in as vice president in 1979 elections. After that election, he did not vie for any political post. Notwithstanding, many politicians has borrowed his policies which was marshaled out in Ahiara declaration which he co-authored. He has also used literature to present the people of Nigeria as people with history. No Nigerian has done that more than prof Achebe. No non politician has done more than Achebe. |
