She was once a councillor but now a mayor. The post of the mayor is rotated between the councillors of the borough of Waltham Forest. |

A. Boro and S. Wiwa are not Igbo. Igbo do not claim them. Please furnish me with facts where Igbo are claiming them. Earlier today, you thanked me for making available Igboland and Biafra. My dear Ndu Chuks, what can you offer on the Aburi Conference?. I dey wait o. |

Ezaa In as much as Ndiigbo are still in existence, there is a reason to celebrate. If ndiigbo do not exist, then they will not celebrate. If you know what ndiigbo went through between 1967 & 1990, you will know the desire to celebrate. Secondly, if the road to your village is not motorable does not mean that every village has bad roads. Thirdly, the igbo that has made a mark in life has nothing to do with your complaints here. So, if you know of any Igbo that has towered above others in any field, please let us know. If not just hold your peace while others do the search for you. |
Efan is neither Efik nor Ibibio but a proud Igbo from Ikaigbo area of Delta state. He identifies with the Igbo here in the UK and he is not ashamed of it. Efanatuanya in Ika, Ifeanatuanya in Anambra and Iheanatuanya in Imo. Ekoku in Ika, Ikoku in Arochukwu and Ikokwu in Isinweke. Efan Ekoku or Ify Ikoku depends on where you come from. |
Ndu chuks Igboland is a composition of the five south east states. Secondly it comprises delta north and upland Rivers state. Third, it consist five ndoki villages in Etim Ekpo Lga Akwa Ibom, Izzi people in Okpoku Lga Benue state and finally, the seven Ika Igbo villages in Edo state. Biafra is the old eastern Nigeria and Igbo speaking areas across the great River. Now that your question is answered, can we now concentrate on the topic, especially here we have Max and (Dede) who are authorities in Nigerian History. |
They sould add more to the list for example: C. Ijeoma Ohuruogu: A proud Igbo and has identified with Igbo organisations here in the UK. She was honoured last year by the Onanaeze UK chapter. Also are Efan Ekoku Victor Anichebe. More to come soon. |
"wazobia" is a concept adopted to folster unity among the three major ethnic groups in nigeria i.e yoruba, hausa, igbo, it shows that these are the strong tribe that hold the country but in which the igbo are beginning to lose their majority slot due to their agitation for secession which leaves the yoruba and hausa as the two strong tribes in nigeria. But now that other minority tribes especially from the south-south region are beginning to raise up their ethnic to a major standard by according them the desired recognition both locally and international, with the situation on ground such as the niger delta crisis, isn't it time we abandoned the wazobia concept and move ahead since it only potrayed the yoruba and hausa as the power that be in the country, do you think the concept has really united us as one nigeria?
This is an irrelevant post and should be confined to the dust bin. |
Sweeping of the village arena is an aspect of Igbo culture that brings cleanliness to the community. Second, it is a way of bringing community members together. It is morally wrong for our roads to grow bushy, unkept and unclean because of christianity. When the Buhari/Idiagbon regine introduced the monthly clean-up exercises, everyone participated in that programme irrespective of faith. My fellow xtians, cleanliness is next to Godliness. |
Nuzo Oha na eze ndi igbo (ohan'eze) is the apex Igbo sociocultural organisation. It is the Igbo version of Arewa or Afenifere. It consists the five south east states, Upland Rivers state and Anioma. It has been existence since 1937 and some of the founding fathers were the founders of Anioma. |
@ Post, May be u Igbos will soon make an Igbanke man the president
Yes, we Igbo can make s/he a President-general. But must have Igbo feeling, equal to the task and has to wait for 14 years turn. Igbankes may be in Edo state politically and geographically, yet they are not Edos but IkaIgbo. Take it or leave it. |
1. Ibadan 2. Owerri 3. Abuja |
Olanma Olanna Olanne. Ola is a very popular name in Igboland. Mind you, it is different in pronounciation and meaning with the Yoruba's Ola. |
But the Adebayo's etc are interested in Afenifere. Why not give them a chance?. |
One of the authorities in Igbo history-Isichei. E (1976) an Anioman, used the interview granted to one Mbaise elder to summarise the history of ndiigbo. In that book, the elder said that we (ndiigbo) do not come from anywhere, any one who says we come from anywhere is a lier. This idea of some Igbo groups using moonlight tales to deny Igbo and claim Bini or what ever is baseless. Also, the Hebrew argument, the Igala to Igbo or Igbo to Igala like water in a basket. What matters today is that, as you have found your yourself from Eke in Arochukwu to Orie in Igbanke and from afo in Obollo to nkwo in Diobu, you are Igbo. No ifs and no buts just Igbo. |
Mazi Crackles O ga diri gi nma (It shall be well with you). |
agabaI23:Yes, but a proud Igbo. She has been rightly honoured by the Queen of Great Britain as well as the Ohanaeze UK chapter. Ndigbo worldwide kwenuoo. Igbo dum wu otu. |

So why is Uduaghan not developing Asaba?. Check out the stadium in Warri and the one at Asaba the state capital. What ever the case, Asaba is the state capital. |
