amaka, this picture is from ondo state. can you see the type of weapon. When we tell olodogbo to shake his head, he can shake it. every household have at least 2 or 3 to hunt. So amaka you see, we want to leave peaceful, tell your people to let us go. he no fear you. Amaka , when them tell lokile it is time to bark, he will. It is the same teeth lokile use to play with its child that he would use to bite it. Amaka , we people of yorubas, edo, delta and bayelsa state want to join benin republic.
o your dream republic. I hope you do not take the Igbo in Delta to your dream republic. |

I do agree with Aloy-Emeka. It should not matter who owns a town o rcity but what matters is the stake owned in the city. With this case, it should not matter if Agbor is Igbo or Bini; Port Harcourt is Igbo or Okrika; Ilorin is Yoruba or Fulani etc. If we view this cities from this perspective, there should not be ethnic tensions in multi-ethnic cities in Nigeria. |
ezeagu:I think Obigbo state wiil be very appropriate. |
That is a price you pay for a loss of war. They plunder and looth all your treasures including artefacts. The Bini people suffered a similar fate in 1887, and in 1901, the Igbo of Arochukwu. This stolen treasures are in British custody till date. |
In as much as ANIOMA State is long overdue, I clamour for Obigbo state to be created for the Igbo in Rivers state as well. I think Ndigbo deserve 3 states, namely, Njaba, Anioma and Obigbo or Port Harcourt state. |
its annoying when you people keep saying Yoruba men are the ones running after Igbo women. what about the Igbo women who chase Yoruba men ? Do you think it doesnt happen? When I've seen these things with my own eyes ?
You are right, but when you weigh it on the same scale, you will see that it weighs more on the left than the right. Do not be annoyed, but it is true. |
Tpia I be your friend nah wetin I do wey you wan fight me. I have only been honest, you have more yoruba men wanting to marry Igbo women and not the other way round. The yoruba mother did not beg me to marry her second daughter. She meant if I was searching for a wife, I should go for one that is not engaged to another man such as her second daughter. But you know, it is not proper to make such a switch as I am God-fearing. |
nex:Well said my brother, though shall not trespass. |
@POSTER This is not a joke. Do not treat this matter with kid gloves. Please, consult a DIBIA as soon as possible. A stitch in time saves nine. |
@Poster Destroy the phone and send the pieces to the guy. Go with some of your pals at the uni/poly if you have some and warn him of the consequencies. Do not go with any harmful objects unless that continues. It is nice to protect what belongs to you from intruders. |
AXEMAN85 In Igboland, either poor or rich , marriage is same. Bride price can be as cheap as 1,000:00, but the essential aspect is the dowry for example, yams, wrappers, drinks, rice, etc. This is fixed and your prospective inlaws has no say over it but the kindred. It has always been The Yoruba men wanting to marry Igbo women. Does it mean that the Yorubas no longer raise beautiful women as well as educated and well-behaved women for marriage?. |
Some Yoruba mothers are so nice and not tribalistic. During my NYSC days in Ogun state, a mother game me her fullest support to marry her second daughter. Her first daughter whom I was befriending then was bethrothed to another man. I did not know it and the girl did not tell me either. When her mother found out, she disapproved it and rather suggested I come and marry her second daughter. Even though I did not marry her second daughter, but it was very commendable of a mother to do so. |
BICOMERICH For your notice, Azikiwe was a proud Igbo man till death. He was merely quoting what his illiterate grandmother told him. Yorubas claim their progenitors come from Mecca and Egypt. Does it mean that Yoruba's are Egyptians or Arabians?. Please stop derailing topics. |
Best Ogedengbe: Laa na-udo. Best Ogedengbe: Rest in perfect peace. |
@AMA-DIVA: There is this thread on this culture forum that goes like this: Re: Igbo kwenu: join us if you are proud to be Igbo Guy/lady. Check out for it and you will find out that ndigbo also argue about their own affairs. You may make a contribution a I am not surprised that a lot of Rivers state persons can write this thy great language-Igbo. In my own case, I only involve my dear self only where you have Ndigbo. Hence, do not be amazed to see my contributions in Delta Igbo and Rivers Igbo deliberations. I do not involve my self in Kalabari, Ijoo and Urhobo affairs. I might stop arguing about Rivers state if Ndigbo in Rivers are given there own state for Example Obigbo state or Port Harcourt state. Godbless. state. |
ama-diva For the fact Ndigbo argue about Port Harcourt and Rivers State is because of our kits and kins over there. What ever thing that affects Ndigbo in Port Harcourt and Rivers state affects South East Ndigbo. My wife is a Rivers Igbo, how about that?. Before you can say that we do not argue about South East towns and cities shows that you have not read Igbo threads in this forum. Go and read all the kwenu threads and you will know what I mean. |
if ijaws and igbos can unite and give themselves only one name eg Ijogbo or Igbojaw/Igbojo there wouldnt be a need for the everlasting question of who owns Port Harcourt. cany say I'm too convinced Bonny is derived from Ibani though not to say it's not possible. However, Bonny is also a very common Scottish or English word. Quite a coincidence, imo.
Good Idea but I suggest, Ijo, Igbo, Kalabari, Ibibio, Efik, Ekoi etc should be called NEW BIAFRA. Biafra is not an Igbo name but an all encompassing name of the offshore sea of Old Eastern Nigeria. Nevertherless, You are a very good friend of Ndigbo and Ijaws, Tpia. |
Well done LIZ, some of your contemporaries are still involved in 'unholly alliances'. They should learn from you. |
Nigeria of today and Nigeria of IBB's era, which do you think is better?. |

As for Nigerian fans in the UK, you may see the match on Eurosports B sky B channel 410. |
deb:S.Donetsk is a great club. They are the current UEFA Cup holders. Julius is back to the club and played against Barcelona in Super cup. About age, you can not comment because you are not his parents. |
I watched the match last night via Chelsea TV, that was about 10:18pm. Our best performers last night were not the academy boys. I hope we don't get a tough draw in the next round so that we can try the boys again. |
AfroCynic:I suppose it should be in the translation thread. Nevertherless, Osondi--what people like: Owendi--what people dislike. Osondi owendi literarily means what is cherished by some people is despised by some people. |

It is a sort of contest for some families. For the fact family B at their father's funeral killed ten cows, bought an expensive casket, hired an expensive live band, mounted 100 canopies, cooked 30 bags of rice, bought 1 lorry crate of beer etc. Family C would be itching to do the same thing. I know some men while alive have decreed that when they die they should be buried with such funfare. ITS UNCALLED FOR. |
