Denel alone is the bigger than any other African countries deffense indusrty and it is only one in a list of privat, state and sieme state owned companies. Such has

BAE OMC land sytems south africa, SAAB grintec, paramount group, CSRI, ATE, KND, extra extra extra. Any one of those compainies produce more advance wepaons and milltary sytems than nigeria. Many of them are world class with forghin exports to. North America, europe, africa, south america, middel east and asia. Basicaly the whole world.

Technaiclay they did. The first SA solders who came under attack from seleka was a patrol conducting reccon. Not know the full detais but the force would not have been large. A stadard patrol is only about 11 men.

That force was ambushed but was able to withdraw to to the SA Base. When it came under attack.

i wanted to post nigerian navy vs south african navy during the week, but the many comments of people on south african CAR failed peace keeping mission took over this thread and i had to bow to public wishes.


i wanted to deal with the NNS ARADU issue because it is no longer nigerian navy main warship, finance minister okonjo iweala confirmed nigerian navy paid China for two year 2014 technology stealth light frigates with missiles, helicopters, anti-missile, electronic counter measures and jamming devices loaded, and they are specially designed for anti-submarine warfare against USA navy submarines and stealth frigates threat on China in the south china sea near Taiwan.


the south african submarines boasted about here will taste some bitter pills from those new nigerian navy stealth ASW light frigates when they arrive anytime from 2014, and one of the two will be built 50% in nigeria, especially the electronics aspects we want to get the technology from china for our own locally built small warships like the second NNS ANDONI is under construction now in lagos 100% locally made.

Since when are those corvets a ASW platform. They may have torpedos, sonar and have the abliety to carry a hellicopter but that dose not make them a effective ASW ship. And don't talk about what NN is going to get. SA project Biro is plaining on build up to 6 OPV(corvets) in SA all 100% not 50% of one ship.

Let me explain to you: there was colonization at different levels.
In some country colonization was reduced to millitary occupation and a sermon of allegiance to a foreign king. (that was the case in Nigeria). In some other countries, the indigenes were really defensless to the extent that the colonisers didn't see it as a challenge to bring in its civilian population and take over the entire landmass of the indigenes and push them to previously deserted areas which are unprollific to living Hood. (that was the case in SA).
That is what explains why such a thing as apartheid could happen in your country.

Did you not think that maybe the fight was over by the time they got there, or that the french where not yet there in force or that there where no trasports.

At the time of the first attack on friday when most of the SA losses occured there where only about 240 men. The first rebel attack occured when a SA recon patrol got ambushed, they where able to fight there way out and fall back to the base, it been reported that CAR goverment forces all so attacked the SA solders by on friday.
