No sir. . . .It's you that need to find out what went wrong. If Abiola was Babangida's puppet as presumed, why did he cancel his election ? The event of the primaries to the main election said it all that Abiola wont be declared; he was anti-west at a time capitalism was growing in Nigeria coupled with the fact that the hausa didnt want a southerner to rule them.THE ONLY YORUBAS AGAINST abiola were those that dined with the Babangia and posterity will judge them !
What are you actually contesting Blu?? Are you saying MKO and IBB were not bosom friends and in fact family friends for years? Are you contesting that Kola was suppose to marry IBB's first daughter even after his father's imprisonment by the same man?? Are you contesting that it wasn't with MKO's financial and political support that IBB was enboldened to perform his coup and consolidate his power?? Or that he didn't do the same for Abacha after he took over from his fellow Egba?? Or that both of them started the first main religious squabble we had by dragging a secular Nigeria into the OIC?? Or are you then suggesting that Abiola's emergence as the SDP candidate wasn't made infinitely easier by his bosom friend IBB unfairly disqualifying a host of other legitimate candidates? Because all of this irrefutable public knowledge available in the public domain if you did not know.

Well anyway, I am not contesting the fact that Abiola's sacrifice is among the single greatest acts that allow us to term ourselves "free" now and that by his latter actions he does deserve to be commemorated by all Nigerians, especially if it's this demo-CRAZY we are celebrating.

preciousoz: The Last time I checked, its so easy to leave this country. It will cost U less than 10,000 naira to leave the border's of Nigeria. Please Leave and stop using your God given Mouth to declare negative prophecies upon my beloved country. We have Niger, Chad, Benin Republic, and Cameroun if u don't have enough to travel to europe. The wrong of so many decades cannot be corrected in 4 yrs. We should be thinking of how we will contribute to the uplifting of Our country. Please Keep your Negativity to your self and family, don't spread the virus.
Last time I checked the unprecedented decline in Nigeria was really evident from 1986, so that gives us 1986-1999, which is 13 years.

Now I wonder how long we have actually had demo-CRAZY for, hmmmmmmm huh

maclatunji: It is only foolish people that will be bought-over by this. If he wants to recognise MKO, let him acknowledge him as the winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election and declare him President Posthumously! Even with this we will not vote for him in 2015. tongue
God bless you.

PHIPEX: Weldone Naptu, some of us here on NL were too young to grasp the enormity of the atrocities of the Military era so we tend to judge our Democracy simply by the happennings of today in relation to the events in other countries without taking a critical overview of where we were coming from. Some Nairalanders who were old enough to tell the tale have fallen victims of the cliche "the good old days". The democratic practice in Nigeria is far from what every rational citizen hoped for but it is still far better than any miitary regime that occupied that seat of power before it. The journey to our emancipation is looking farther than we envisaged but there is no doubt that we have covered a great distance.

Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
God Bless Nigeria!!
Happy Democracy day!!!
How anyone can say what we have now is better than the regimes of the 1970's or even Buhari's time beats my imagination.
PoliticsRe: Happy Democracy Day! by AndroBlaze: 10:10am On May 29, 2012
@ Nap2tu and others doing the same thing

Are you suggesting that we should be celebrating the improved human rights situation we have or what?? Because I wonder how anyone who has lived in Nigeria since demoCRAZY with common sense would be celebrating that particular feat?

I mean look, we still have government opponents being threatened, locked up or detained however briefly by the SSS and police on the flimsiest of evidence. Their are the notorious cases of people who consider themselves political prisoners, like MEND and the early Boko Haram, who have DIED in prison while awaiting trial. That same tormentor in chief you mentioned Nap2tu, Zakari Biu was recalled and got a promotion under demoCRAZY, and we all know how that story ended. The media is still hounded daily and told by the powers that be to get in line. Politcal assassinations continue unabated, let's not forget the world renown Guinness book of records assassination of a sitting Attorney General/Minister of Justice. And to me more significant is the Police have continued from where the army left off with record extra judicial killings and shootings of unarmed civillians in simple domestic and civil matters.

So as people keep asking you, what are you celebrating, is it Boko Haram upholding human rights of the people in the North? Is it the Executive consistently upholding the rule of Law and ensuring Judicial integrity? Or is it still the grossly overpopulated and inhumane prison system where these so called real beneficiaries of the Democracy (OBJ and other fake politicians of conscience) came from and have left too rot?? Come on, let's hear it.

Thanks for the reference pal.

The Sandisk is a far more premium card, one of the fastest there is and almost impossible to fake because of it's radical look. You'll struggle to find it anywhere here and if you did the price would not be better.

LiteratureRe: 'my Names Are', Or 'my Name Is' by AndroBlaze: 10:07pm On May 23, 2012
paris10: Shymex is not spreading any falsehood and neither are you sir.

Common question often asked would be "What is your name?" and we respond by saying "My name is Andro Blaze Firebrigade" or simply "Andro Firebrigade" But when asked "What are your names" intuitively we respond by mentioning all the names given to us either by birth or otherwise eg My names are Andro Blaze Okokoriko Uzo Orji Festus Firebrigade.

To be politically correct, you only mention your first three names (including middle name) as "is", and to be culturally sound, the use of "Are" would be accepted.
Paris10 I challenge you to bring an excerpt from any of the popular English dictionaries in the world that recognises "my names are" in the context you lot are pushing. As I have proven to Shymex, Nigerians are not the only human beings in the world that are born with more than 3 names.

For the last time, this is an ENGLISH argument, no one is saying my names are is not right in any other culture in this world, but we are speaking English Language here.

And please do not bring any Indian references for me.

shymmex: Do you understand English language at all??

If you have two phone numbers, are you going to say: "my phone is?"
Losing more and more respect :SMH:

Having two phone numbers is the same as a person having 2 identities in this context. Usually only supeheroes and mad men can say my names are For example Clark Kent can say " My names are Clark Kent and Superman". For the mad men example you can go to Yaba left or check the bible for the person who identified himself as LEGION.

shymmex: A lot of ignorant posts from many posters on this thread...

Name is a collective noun, but it has a plural..

Under normal logic, a person is meant to have three names, namely: first name, middle name, and last name..

That defies logic in Nigeria because most people have like a gazillion first name...

Proper English: MY NAME IS..

Nigerian context which defies logic: MY NAMES ARE... grin

I don't know how the phuck you're going to say: MY NAME IS ADEBOLA ODILICHUKWU USMAN ORITSE SALISU IWEALA OKOYE... cool
Shymex, I am someone who usually loves your comments but I am very disappointed in you today for spreading falsehood after falsehood.

There is no rule anywhere in English or in England that one must have 3 names making up your name. If you wiki Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and the Queen they all have more than 3 names making up there name. If you wiki Julius Caesar from over 2 thousand years ago, he still has more than 3 names making up his name.

In fact I know of no prominent culture in the world, now or in the written past, whether English or not, where a child is born with only 3 names representing him as his full name. One name YES, but never an absolute condition of 3 names. In fact adding to that, I have not met any human being anywhere in this world that only has 3 names making up his name on his birth certificate (not saying they don't exist though).

Please stop spreading falsehood and losing admirers.
LiteratureRe: 'my Names Are', Or 'my Name Is' by AndroBlaze: 9:28pm On May 23, 2012
omodapson: See analogy, lwkm! You should know the difference between 'figure' and 'number' cool
That is a perfect analogy as your phone number includes more than one number, just as your name (full name is the same thing as your name, see the James Bond example) usually includes more than one name.

So if one agrees with the "my names are" people then one should also continue the gbagaun with" my phone numbers are" too.

paris10: The great lecturer/academician opens the door, saw the topic and hissed. But then he saw some intelligent answers to the question and smiled.

The below posts got it right.

Seven (7) naive and olodo n'landers even clicked Like to this awful and unintelligent response below:

Conclusion: Most Africans have more than one first names including a middle name to complement their last name (surname). Westerners tend to have one first name, one middle name and a surname. Middle name in western world is non-existence and do not always apply when addressing an individual. Do also note that your surname is not your name(s), hence, the word surname.

Example: If someone ask of your name, you simply say Mike. But if they do ask after your surname, then you provide it. This always takes the form of a singular noun e.g My name is Mike Nwanchukwu. Only Mike is my name and the other my surname. Therefore Mike is IS. But if Mike should add a second of his first names and then a middle name when introducing himself,it should read: My names are Mike Jonathan Olam'ma Nwanchukwu.

Hope understood you beautiful students of mine
This is truly sad. Please if you ever manage to leave the shores of this country, claim to be a Ghanaian..

I'm having the same problem on my Bold at the moment as I just switched from Airtel to MTN (I never had this problem with Airtel). I am not too bothered as I will probably transfer all my remaining credit to another MTN sim anyway.

But I noticed no one has asked you if you have other 3rd party apps like 2go, Whatsapp or Ebuddy as these apps (or any apps that use the net) if not configured properly could be what is chopping your credit. I personally think that's what is chopping mine. Oh and just like you I have edited the APN wrongly but even that doesn't stop MTN from taking my left over credit, so I don't think you should bother yourself with that fix.
