Clowns will say in saner climes Or that Democrats practice "Democracy". Buahahahaha. So long Slow Biden. Let's see if October has another surprise for us. |
andrewbaba44:Stop letting these stupid people rub off on you. I've never called Foden England's best ever talent. I've said he is England's most talented player of HIS generation and that the team will need to be built around him for England to reignite a culture of winning that came and disappeared in 1966. If I said "we are all average people getting by" they'll like me because that is relatable. But if I said, I'm an Eagle not a chicken - they'll call me names. Truth is, alot of the dullards here argue by stretching comments out of context because mediocres like everybody to be at their level. They'll rally against anyone who dissociates from the herd because that person is proof that their cowardly way was not the only way to go. The way you see me argue? I did it for Pep, City, KDB, Rodri, Poch, now Foden but the list is inexhaustive. Pep is a fraud for years now everyone pretends it was always a given how generational he is. City are inferior to every team for years till the treble and 4-peat. Go through the comments, Arsenal, Bayern, Inter, RM were going to KO City. I defend my team and I'm right...silence from the dumb haters. But should City lose that odd game? Fools start mentioning me. KDB is inferior to Pogba, Kroos, Bruno etc. Now everyone agrees how generational he is. Rodri is slow blah blah...to Ballon d'or chants today. Poch is blah...Potter did better. I came here..told them Poch will finish above 7th. Silence. Tuchel is better than Pep - it was argued here. Then when Pep won the league again, they still defended Tuchel. The Foden argument is just another one of the stories you have above. Give it 2 more seasons. You'll be seeing "I'll never respect Pep until he wins without Foden". "Why won't Pep win when he has generational talents like Foden etc". Una just dey come. Pep was not supposed to win one EPL title. Now he has 6. I told them he will break records. They said he is a fraud. I'm the one who has been proven right today but the fools who have a history of being wrong want to troll me because I said I'd eat my hand if City did not beat Liverpool at the Etihad in 2020. City beat Liverpool 4-0 by the way. They hate us 'cause they ain't us. They hate us 'cause they anus. ![]() |
BlueAngel444:He had more defensive contribution than the player sent to mark the player for the best team that is the engine of the team and usually gets the most touches for that team (that usually have the ball)? And you think you have a brain like this ehn? |
hensben:Hensben, Foden was the POTY in the same league Palmer wasn't. Foden has won everything that Palmer has and doesn't. I don't know if you pick the time of the day to switch off your brain but Foden has always been judged the better player. It is only stupid people [the same people who kept claiming Klopp was better than Pep for winning less] that claim Palmer somehow proved to be better for helping CFC win nothing. I'm the one telling you that certain players need to have the team built around them to maximize their outputs. Rooney was not scoring many goals when the team was built around CR7. Palmer was not very productive until Chelsea built around him. Pep centered the team to maximize Foden's output with KDB and Erling out for significant portions of the season. City still won the league (just like KDB did for City 21/22 season). Yet you claim a player whose maximum output only puts his team in 6th is better than the one who put his team in first. What is wrong with you? I asked for the Palmer MOTM evidence and I'm getting this for response. You no try at all. |
BlueAngel444:You are a desperate try-hard but none of your punches are sinking. If the reason he was given that assignment is because he is useless in attack, then you should ask why Southgate was still insisting he must play? You people simply cannot have it both ways. You are insisting England were Foden away from winning yet claiming he was irrelevant at the same time. I know layered thinking is not encouraged in this place but it will be helpful to employ your noodle once in a while. If we remove Foden's own contributions will City win the league? See what I mean by layered thinking? |
hensben:Stop being silly. Palmer scored at the 72nd minute. Nobody is saying players are restricted from bombing forward or taking advanced positions during counter attacks or when they are desperate. There was still plenty of time to play and that same sequence had just transpired shortly before it yielded returns. Foden was not lost. He was playing his position like Stones or Pickford were. |
BlueAngel444:England's best performance of the tournament coincided with Foden's best game. The logic should tell you how important he could have been if used properly. You are here trying to be this savage troll but you are failing at it - badly. Forget that nonsense on whoscored and whatnot. Saka was not a RWB. He was a RW who just had to defend because Spain had more of the ball. Lol. Stop reading into the hype. You guys bore me. |
BlueAngel444:City built around Foden this last season with Erling and KDB out. He delivered the 4th EPL tile that no other great team had been able to achieve. And I did not say Foden was a defender or a defensive player. But that Gareth gave him a difficult assignment knowing Spain would have more of the ball and Rodri would have the most of it [for Spain]. The summary is, Foden got the job of Belling the cat. He was dealt a bad hand. I won't expect Messi to score all the goals he scored in history if he was just a winger. Do you agree? |
Godstime001:They did not win without him. You're yet to see if they'll win with him. Ronaldo was in Brazil's worldcup squad in 1994 but nobody attributes the trophy to him. Foden didn't have an important role. No Palmer was brought on as an impact player, so England were reacting when he came on which means they were being motivated to attack. They started many games defending. Jude did not play well. You are either excited by the stats or the hype around the stats. If you believe he played well it is your cup of tea. He did not. The majority agree. |
monerozi5590:First and foremost, not all teams play man-to-man. Some play zonally and just give the wingers defensive assignments. Emphasis on DEFENSIVE. Yet Southgate set-up to completely defend in the first half so what was an attacking player going to do with a defensive assignment like 'shadow Rodri and make sure he does not receive the ball where he would like to [because you play with him in City]' - all these are my conjectures for what Southgate was thinking, but that was how the players interpreted it. England could not string 3 passes together. The ball was going from Pickford to almost Kane and back to Spain. So what would Foden do to stay engaged? Stay on Rodri. I don't want to keep going on, especially if I have to keep explaining myself unnecessarily. |
BlueAngel444:I am not defending Foden. If he was England's 10 with the team built around him and he failed, I'd pile on him. Just like I never let the nonsense spoken about Rodri stand when he was played as a CB. That time La Liga fans claimed Rodri was inferior to Busquets as the reason he was being played in an unnatural position. Remember that Spain? Yeah, losing for fun and being lackluster. They've moved Rodri back to CDM and he is getting ballon d'or chants while Spain look like world beaters. I even said, if Southgate had no plans to use Foden effectively. He should not be started. I already knew England won't win shii without him because he is currently their best player. My argument for Foden is, nobody expected Rice and Mainoo to have any stats for not being advanced but then insist Foden must have those stats playing in an unnadvanced position. The logic is not computing. |
monerozi5590:Utter nonsense my good friend. Foden was playing the pivot with Declan Rice even if the formation drafted had him appear advanced. That is why it is good to watch games rather than rely on data that always needs some context. Foden was assigned to mark Rodri. Who gives a 10 that type of assignment? Yea, because he was not a 10. Foden played 10 twice. A double 10 against Switzerland and the more advanced 10 against Netherlands. In the second half against Spain, Foden moved back to LM as Southgate changed formation again. When he took Mainoo off, it was for Palmer. How can you claim Jude was playing Mainoo's position when he is in the box to receive Saka's pass with Watkins in the penalty area as well and Foden on the left. Why do you think Palmer was in that position to kick the ball? Are you claiming Mainoo would have been in that position where Jude was if he was still playing? ![]() You people should be watching the games. Stop relying on isolated data that you cannot interpret. |
hensben:Hens, I guarantee you, you cannot find a shred of evidence for anything you've said above. Foden missed 1 PK during a shootout with WestHam and that is what you are relying on. That is entirely illogical. System player that won U17 worldcup for England as their best player? Needs KDB and Haaland but played 4 and 6 months without both and had 20 G/A before KDB came back. When the season was going on, all I kept reading here was how City missed Gundo and Mahrez, how they had dropped in level and how Arsenal were going to win. Yet City still won the league. Somehow, the player who was instrumental to City winning is inferior to a player that would still be riding City's bench till date if he was still there. You people are funny when not stupid. Can you please provide the evidence for this MOTM awards you keep referring to. I've seen ZERO proofs thus far. A new season will soon begin. We are expecting Palmer to push CFC to win the EPL. Unlike you, I expect it of Foden and he will deliver. You will have excuses again. Time will show. |
airmark:City dumped Palmer without consequence and Foden enabled City WIN the league. Have shame sometimes. |
airmark:Blah Blah. Foden won't take Penalties with Haaland in the team. Same would be the case had Haaland been at Chelsea. Airhead. |
airmark:You are adding goals + assists like Palmer did not take 9 or 10 penalties. Foden had 19 non-penalty goals from chances that typically he should only score 10-11 goals from. You are piling on him yet Leao, Mbappé etc shat the bed yet no comments. I come here for comic relief. The stupidest human beings on earth will be Chelsea fans. |
liveLongNprospa:Jude was NEVER stationed at the left (most of you here don't know how England played and it shows). Foden was essentially Mainoo and Mainoo was the 10 in the first half. Jude and Mainoo were the double 10s (and that was the role Southgate devised to allow Foden play a little more central than the first few games where he was a left sided midfielder). Jude became a 2nd striker with the new changes made when Palmer came on to replace Mainoo as one of the double 10s. That assist attributed to Jude is an example of a whoscored rating. The goal was ALL Palmer and his technique. Someone here was calling Jude England's best player against Spain. Typical ratings based analysts that nobody should take seriously. I'm sure you also thought Jude was better than Fabian Ruiz, Rodri and Zubimendi based on whoscored. Buhahahaha. |
airmark:But he went 1 year without scoring? He was fired by RM. His tenure there has been regarded as a monumental failure. Is that true? Meanwhile, peep the last screenshot. When a player can outperfom his xG that way, you make sure such a player is given the ball in those situations since he will win many odd games just like that. Hazard and Declan Rice know better than you.
|
liveLongNprospa:What data did you show me? You showed me a whoscored rating. I told you it was a waste of my time because I could show you other ratings that will contradict exactly what whoscored posted. I did same yet you are crying foul. For example, whoscored penalizes the receiving player even if the pass was bad. So if Declan Rice overhits a ball to Foden, it will be recorded as a lost possession on Foden not on Declan Rice. Imagine someone telling me that Rice had 100% passing accuracy in a game when I watched him pass the ball wrongly. This is a hypothetical. Another e.g, Whoscored slaps metrics to players for attempting shots. So a player can have a horrible game, but if he attempted multiple shots, his rating may show 7.1 even though his performance was poor. Whoscored attributes numbers to "assists" and goals. Saka got an assist for Jude's goal yet the deflection is the only reason the ball got to Jude. Saka will have an added value to his rating even if he was poor in that particular game. Jude needed that clutch goal against Slovakia to be MOTM and have the high rating he did. We all watched the game. You can even scroll to the comments here on NL and you'd see people piling on him and lamenting about how poor he was as a 10. I do remember you trying to claim he had duels and what not and when I asked if 10's are rated based on duels won and defensive tackles put in, I never got a response. Funny Southgate did not remember all these when he was assigning Foden to mark Rodri. Rafael Van Der Vaart played for RM. See his opinion on Jude: Majority of the comments under this post re-echoed same. We all have eyes.
|
Katcall:Owen Hargreaves, Steve, Teddy? I assume they had 6 EPL titles, 1UCL, 2 FA cups, 4 Carabao Cups, 1 Club World Cup, at 24? EPL Player of the year PFA player of the year U17 Golden Ball for England btw. PFA YPOTY (2 times )Right? |
Foden scored a hattrick against Aston Villa playing as a 10 (that went on to beat Arsenal) and enabled City to win the league. Remember City went on to win the league. Foolish people blamed him for not replicating same for England that used him to man mark Rodri. Foolish people.
|
Sportsweb:Foden flopped and England did not win. Because England need Foden to win. I said so. You disagreed yet here you are trying to explain why England did not win. Bingo. Keep following me around like my shadow.
|
Ibime:That's why I never bothered engaging them. This trended on X at the time of the beef yet it did not matter to the public. That was when I knew the game was rigged. |
airmark:From Foden to Rodri concerning what? What's up with your Hazard by the way? Is he still playing football? |
liveLongNprospa:Dude. Stats can be subjectively interpreted. That's why they require interpretation. If your Smellingham was playing as well as your whoscored was telling you, he would have been in the TOTT, right? I did not even spend more than 5 mins to find this with my first search. LOL.
|
Sportsweb:Awww. Wounded another butthurt troll. You've not answered for Trippier and Mainoo who was playing 10 against Spain. Why did you not include them as the attackers? Smellingham's PR charge at Ballon d'or has ended like I said. If Foden is the reason England did not win, mofo, that's you agreeing he is England's best player. |
liveLongNprospa:This Rodri?
|
drisham:Address what blasphemy? You don't need me to validate your own argument. I can backup anything I've posited. You should be able to do same, right? |
Sportsweb:Are you saying England did not win because Foden did not score? I want to see you contradict yourself now. Don't worry about system player. Rodri was called that too. Then they moved him to DM and Spain became good again. Funny how that happened. |
liveLongNprospa:Are you asking for my own carefully selected links and screen grabs showing Foden highest rated or multiple articles of pundits saying same? Be specific. So you'll see why your screenshots are futile. Remember Kyle Freaking Walker made TOTT with his 4/10 ratings according to many sites in many games. LOL |
Olmo this. Fabian Ruiz that. See Spain's national team coach telling you who his best player was. Wonder if he checked whoscored rating to decide that.
|
liveLongNprospa:You can add further details to what? I couldn't care any less about rubbish ratings. Ratings that slaps arbitrary values to different facets many of which don't even make any sense. The other day someone said Foden lost possession 19 times and when I asked how that was possible with 93% passing accuracy, the story changed. I can bring other useless ratings that will contradict what you have above. I'm sure you've seen them. Don't waste anybody's time. Kyle Walker is in the team of the tournament ffs. ![]() |
